PoliticsRe: After A Weekend With Mosquitoes, Cecilia Ibru Collapses In Court by maedan(f): 3:57pm On Sep 01, 2009
Don't they sell mosquito repellent in the market again?? What kind of doctor is that who doesn't know how to take preventive measures for his client? That said, this is the real world and madam millionaire has to get used to it - for the now at least. But what a shame for such an illustrious family to have their name dragged into the mud, thanks to the power-mad wifey tongue.
TV/MoviesRe: ~ Big Brother 10 UK ~ by maedan(f): 3:33pm On Sep 01, 2009
The term I used was "hate on" me, not hate. Hating on someone or their choices is different from hating them. By the way, your comment about me and a "love affair" with that "man" Lisa, what was that all about?? If you don't know how to conduct yourself on a topic involving different people with different preferences, then maybe you should stay away. Or I will.
TV/MoviesRe: ~ Big Brother 10 UK ~ by maedan(f): 3:11pm On Sep 01, 2009
@agaba123
This thread has been going on fine without any choice wars. Don't hate on me for my preferences, and I won't hate on you for yours.

Don't know why some people have to force their beliefs on you undecided

FamilyRe: Denial by maedan(f): 3:50am On Sep 01, 2009
If he denies you, maybe it's time you start denying him too. Tit for tat. He will start to pay attention when he notices you have a mind of your own. Deny ko, declaim ni. That kind of man deserves what ever he sees in future, because they always end up regretting giving up a good thing.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians Battled Police In China by maedan(f): 3:27am On Sep 01, 2009
Very sad and desperate situation. People should respect their lives over any property/money. Jumping to the ground floor etc, risking his life when his family at home in Nigeria will not gain anything from him if he dies. Come to think of it, China have their own overflowing markets in Nigeria, Lagos especially with the shoddy architecture of their so-called China town. I don't believe all of them came into Nigeria legally. There should be equal respect btw both countries, is all I'm saying.
PoliticsRe: Sacked Bank Chiefs Arraigned by maedan(f): 2:00am On Sep 01, 2009
LOL. I've been hearing about these maps for some time. Notorious. But really what has demographics got to do with the issue at hand? Anyway, it's a shame to see all these pillars of society being paraded into court like common criminals.
TV/MoviesRe: ~ Big Brother 10 UK ~ by maedan(f): 1:55am On Sep 01, 2009
@ sara j, like Lisa always says, no one's perfect. She's thin-skinned, that's for sure. But Siavash did lie about only nominating her 3 times when it was as much as 6!!! She's not the best HM but I've seen her in action, heard her talk, and I think there's substance. To win the devotion of HMs like Karly and then Dave is no easy thing! Some people know how to win strong allies, is that a crime? Anyway, over to the public. But the biggest mistake would be evicting Lisa or even David right now. Remember, the brotha can cook wink!
TV/MoviesRe: ~ Big Brother 10 UK ~ by maedan(f): 1:17am On Sep 01, 2009
Now that every one is up, I'm afraid David/Lisa might go. This is very unfair, considering the childish antics of the other housemates. Too "close" to nominate?! Get over it! Charlie is false like Sophie said; yes, Lisa likes to draw people into her web, but there's nothing sinister about that, (wasn't Charlie jealous of Rodrigo+Sophie friendship) and yes, Siavash tries to tell the others what to think and do. They hated him for his "goody" attitude just days ago, why are they joining his "I won't nominate" bandwagon? No wonder the show is getting axed! Well, let the public decide as usual and evict the "best bits" left in the house. Lisa Mafia, nuff respect! Dave daMan, you rule!!! grin!
PoliticsRe: Sacked Bank Chiefs Arraigned by maedan(f): 1:10am On Sep 01, 2009
Just watched the report on BBC Two. The image of all those banking bigwigs being led into court is not good. Even Cecilia Ibru in her designer specs did not look amused. Corruption and mismanagement at its highest level: Oceanic, Union Bank, Intercontinental top shots are either facing charges or on the run for their "crimes". They're all claiming innocent, of course undecided.
TV/MoviesRe: ~ Big Brother 10 UK ~ by maedan(f): 11:20pm On Aug 31, 2009
Does anyone else think Charlie, Sophie, Roddy and Siavash are all a bunch of weaklings and falsies grin? Threatening to stage a walk-out, but when it came right down to it, noone had the nerve. Charlie ran out of the diary room claiming to want to take a bath first before deciding, while those two airheads(Sophie&Roddy) looked scared as hell. Only Siavash showed some backbone, but really if he was so sincere he could have just walked out himself while the other losers were stalling.

I just think Lisa and Dave have been the most constant. They both have their faults, but there's something about their smoking, tea-drinking friendship that I like cheesy. The rest can jump off the BB roof for all I care tongue grin.

I don't see the Trin girl in the final live shows, but you never know. @mohawkchic, once again you read my mind!! That Afro guy can sing!! Needs some minor stage training, but he's got a great voice. He's officially replaced Danyl for me, who turned out to be a great disappointment to me embarassed grin. I hope this guy weaves up his 'fro one day cos it's such a distraction! I love the girl group, Miss Fitz, though they seem an odd bunch. All in all, I hope we get enough watchable characters/singers to make the next few months enjoyable. Alas, is there ever going to be another version of JLS cos I think this season dearly needs one! wink
TV/MoviesRe: ~ Big Brother 10 UK ~ by maedan(f): 4:11pm On Aug 31, 2009
Thanks for the insight, guys, I mean about Charlie. Why nominate someone if you like them so much to miss them when they're gone? Siavash was right when he said this in the diary room. He's beginning to make sense about why he hates to nominate. This does not mean I like his tactics; if I was in the house I would distrust and dislike him like Charlie and Rod seem to grin.

I wish David would win, though it's very unlikely cheesy embarassed. He's not exactly the "bookies' favourite", but after he stood up to Bea all those weeks ago, I began to feel a grudging respect for the guy!! He's actually the last of the "new" roommates to be standing in the house! That has to count for something. I certainly don't want Charlie, Siavash, Roddy or even Sophie to win. That leaves Lisa and Dave. What say you, guys?? smiley

Aaaw, Marcus looked so ordinary when he showed up in the real world. You have to pity him, Mohawkchic, he's so pathetic in that stupid white singlet!! You have got to see him on BBBM, although I simply switched it off when Brian Bello showed up on the scene. Had to be careful not to lose my dinner lipsrsealed lipsrsealed!!!

Sophie to win? Please God, noooo! Airhead extraordinaire! In fact, I really don't want anyone to win. The real winner, Freddie, was cheated out of his crown by Bea. Ah, the fatal power of a woman tongue!

Okey dokey grin - Like you, I always save Friday night dinner to the same time with the eviction - I don't know but it's just so cool that way.
And you can bet I'm multi-tasking --- eating, watching, typing cheesy. I do it all the time!!! grin

Seriously, I'm feeling so sorry for Marcus now, he's been so saaaad!! I wish he would have been in the last four at least. Alas, it's not going to be. He must know he's going, because he looks really down. I mean, no way people are going to vote Siavash to leave. The house without Siavash? BB will lose like half of its viewership!! BTW, as it all comes to a close, I'd like to make bold grin to say that Dave is my favourite, though he will not win. Who else has an unlikely favourite housemate??

Alright, alright, I'll shut up and let you guys watch the eviction show!!!!
TV/MoviesRe: ~ Big Brother 10 UK ~ by maedan(f): 8:52pm On Aug 28, 2009
Methinks Marcus doesn't stand a chance--not against the "likeable" Siavash undecided cheesy. Looks like the irrepressible dark horse will be riding off into the sunset tonight tongue. But I've been proven wrong so many times, let's just wait and see wink.
TV/MoviesRe: Depiction Of Nigerians In "District 9" by maedan(f): 8:32pm On Aug 28, 2009
@ ThiefOfHearts, there's so much foreign collaboration in the movie that it's safe to say it's not an original, 100% South African film. It's just so galling that these so-called South Africans are so proud of it that they're using the film to buttress whatever hatred/jealousy/distrust they've always harboured for their fellow Africans (Nigerians).
No one is seeing the damage it's going to cause on a whole for every black African. Just wait and see. Soon it would be their turn. I won't put it past some American producer to make a film soon with disparaging scenes about South Africans. No one country in Africa has a snow-white reputation. It's just that, it's in fashion to bash Nigerians. For now.

TV/MoviesRe: ~ Big Brother 10 UK ~ by maedan(f): 2:24pm On Aug 28, 2009
Nope, it's official, BB is on its last legs. Viewership is too low compared to the money being spent running the house, the spin-off shows, even the prize money is going to be an effort to cough up for the winner. I wish they'd keep it going tho', it's got its own little kind of freaky appeal cheesy cheesy.

^^^^Now this is one alien I would gladly roast on a grill---but not for my own consumption lipsrsealed. No, I'll feed him to my alien-eating Nigerian dog, cos that's all the alien fit for. Imagine the gall. Unlike some people, we wish to uphold our integrity, and refused to be condemned to a negative outlook for the rest of our existence. Every nation has the right to learn from their mistakes and grow - but how can we when one movie or the other decides to pick us as the African scapegoat? Is it that they envy us our inherent potential to be good, and great? What ever. I just think the depiction itself was a cheap shot, and the producers of the movie should be rightly ashamed. But this is just my opinion. Every one else is welcome to theirs, however shitty I might think it is.
TV/MoviesRe: ~ Big Brother 10 UK ~ by maedan(f): 9:59pm On Aug 25, 2009
@mohawkchic, I'm not sure I remember her either. Well, it's a bit late now to catch up on BBLB grin, what with the dregs left in the house, George has next to nothing to work with grin grin. Anyway, as we speak, Siavash is being bashed about by everyone for being the schemer that he is. It's so hilarious. Rodrigo and David esp are giving him a piece of his mind. At this point I just can't predict who's going to win, 'cos the in-house nominations are so out-of-whack. It's time Siavash was put in his place with all these his "I don't feel like nominating" stunts. Now Marcus and Siavash are up, and I think it's just swell!!!

Anyone still missing Bea? cheesy
