Fulani is one of the major languages / ethnic groups in Plateau State.

The largest local govt (in terms of land mass) has a Fulani ruling dynasty. In fact, the King is one of the First Class Kings in the State and Nigeria at large. The people of the local govt are predominantly Fulani and Jukun.

So Nairalanders should always get their facts straight before making condemnation.

The post says "ANCESTRAL HOME" (i.e. Kuti Family House) not Fela's House. Further explanation was also given to indicate that it is the house built by Fela's Dad and Mum.

Nairaland illiterates understand that to be Fela's House of Weed and keep typing trash up and down.

FYI, Fela's mum was one of the foremost agitator for Nigeria's independence while the dad was an educationist per excellence. He was the pioneer principal of Abeokuta Grammar School under whom Wole Soyinka and other prominent Nigerians were tutored. The mum once led a successful revolt against the colonial government over taxation of women and that eventually led to the abdication of the then Alake of Egbaland.

Kuti Family is a very big deal and Fela is only a piece of it.

So, FG is spot on with the move because this is not about Fela but about a family that contributed to the independence of Nigeria.

Yet people still blame the govt's efforts at restoring order. People are ignoring the fact that govt officials are privy to a lot of intelligence information that will never be known to us. Over the past few months, Custom Authority have intercepted sophisticated weapons (brand new) being smuggled into the country in bulk. These are signs that unrest is building up.

Personally, I believe the govt is spot on with the military mobilization. Police cannot be deployed to counter a group with a quasi-military formations and with likely mass of armory.

Agitation for self determination is not a new thing all over the world. But KANU's quest is definately not an agitation for self determination. The source, the method and the modus operandi are all wrong. SE has reps in the National Assembly; that should be the right source. Not one miscreant who has no constitutionally recognised mandate of the people. Hate speeches and curses are surely not the methods that have brought Catalonia the recent progress in their quest.

Kanu is being used by some politicians who want to negotiate for a core Ibo presidency by 2019 or 2023 and also achieve special allocation of resources for SE under the guise of SE Development commission. They want to achieve this by spilling the blood of the innocent youth.

I can only hope people will reason deeply that peace and unity are what we really need in this country.
