abikun:Hello Brother. I am in the process of committing significant fund to the setting up a plant (satchel & bottling lines) before i stumbled on this tread. The long running discussion is the most amazing thing I have seen on NL since I joined in 2010. Please help me the business plan forwarded to other guys. It will serve a quite significant purpose. I am definitely sure we will have mutually beneficial relationship in a short while. mos@yahoo.com. Regards. |
stephleena:Yes, President Buhari is a Coward. A COWARD who captured Ogoja within a week a as Batallion Commander and Ojukwu's band of losers fleeing like a gazelle that just saw a hunter. A COWARD who contested Presidential Election with an incumbent President and won even with the hate-ladden vote pattern of the so called "5%". Coward indeed.... I think the real coward is the one who negotiated his own bail and leFt his comrades in jail. It's not surprising anyway. Even Ojukwu fled for his life and left his comrades behind. It seems that is a Biafra thing. I'm sure he too will soon surrender like his mentor did. Afterall, biafrans always surrender like they did in the late 60s. You better get a life. ONIRANU!!!!! |
Crownwahley:"Episode"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Three Gbosas for you. I wish PMB well. Que Sera Sera. |
Bleon99:Can someone put a leash on the guys neck and tie him to a pole or something. He needs to be examine and treated asap. |
PastorandMentor:"Peace" indeed. |
deebrain:FYI, no project will be left uncompleted by the administration. Funding was a major problem for most the the projects in the light of the economic realities in the country. Even on individual level, a lot of people have had to shelve develpment of capital projects and focus on sustenance in this era. The same applies to govt. Should they continue to build bridge when funds are hardly enough to pay workers' salary. Thankfully, things are improving and that is why we are beginning to see activities. NOTE: I'm a not politician or an advocate for anyone. I am just an objective Nigerian. MODIFIED: If you stay around Alagbole, I can understand your grievance with the administration. The gridlock around that bridge area can feel like hell sometimes. |
deebrain:So you feign ignorance of the Alagbole work before d1ckh3ad!!! Development is a continous process. If his predecessors, particularly OGD and Aremu had done 50% of what he has achieved in 8 years in their combined 16 years, we would not be talking of road works in some of these areas again. E.G. The Sagamu - Abeokuta road done by Daniel is rapidly deteriorating now and is getting out of date. Instead of engaging competent engineering firm, he did it through OGROMA for purely selfish gain. The implication now is that the road will have to be reconstructed. Just imagine. Osoba on his own part criticised Amosun that he was constructing bridges where there are no rivers. Just look at that myopic thinking. There is still a lot to be done I will agree. But the has performed excellently in laying the foundation of the standard to come. The least we can do is to give him credit for it. |
willibounce1:It's not just Abeokuta, modern road construction works with fly-overs have been done in virtually all the zones. Although, I will admit that there is concentration on Abeokuta. But that is predictable. He is from Abeokuta. Daniel and Onabanjo favoured Ijebu zone during their tenure too. For instance, there was no justification for taking OOU to Ijebu zone when it was first established when the state capital was yet to have any higher institution of learning. Onabanjo took to ijebu and nobody blamed him. Give any man a cutlass to weed, he will surely weed towards himself. It's unfortunate really but that is how things are in this part of the world; even at the national level. |
deebrain:You are indeed ignorant and may be blind as well. Of all the places you mentioned, I have personally been to three. Sango to Ijoko road has been expanded tremediously and work is still on-going. The massive bridge at Yakoyo to Alagbole will be a blessing once completed. Did you also mention Idi Aba? YOU MUST BE BLIND INDEED. From Iyana mortuary to Idi Aba is expressway of 4 lanes on each side.!!!!!1 And who is the "Ode" Afoju Onibaara. Get out. HATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
deebrain:You are obviously deluded and quite ignorant. By my count, the man has constructed nothing less than 4 fly-over bridges in Abeokuta alone during his tenure. Meanwhile, fly-over is quite strange in abeokuta. And the same thing is happening is some other axis of the state. Presently, there is another fly-over being constructed at the NNPC round to take care of the constant early morning traffic around that area. Words also have it that it will be 10 lane from that point to Sagamu Interchange very soon. Ogun Road Standard of the newly constructed roads during his tenure can match that of any state. Presently, demolition work is still on-going in the last segment of the major road that goes round abeokuta with one or two fly-over to ice it up. Get a pad to take care of your menstruating mouth (or should I say brain and fingers). |
deebrain:Gbe enu e soun!! Gbeborun, Aproko. |
And yet they claim they are "ISRAELITES". Jews my foot!!!! |
Ademat7:We shall all see.. |
^^^^^^^ What kind of 419 constitution were we given in 1999? Then there is limited truth in the saying that democracy is the govt of the people by the people and for the people; in Nigeria anyway. In a way, what this means is that the power to determine the existence of National Assembly still resides with National Assembly. Chaiii, se a ti wo one chance bayi . BREXIT was determined in UK with referendum and we saw the wish of the people defeating that of the PM. He even resigned afterward. That is a sane clime where public servants still have sense of patriotism. As far as I see it, with the composition of the 2 houses at NA; there is no way forward for this country. @three above, what other alternative is available apart from asking "2 groups of thieves" to determine their own fate? |
Can this be the start of the CHANGE Nigerians want? COPIED...... DEMAND FOR A REFERENDUM ON WHETHER NIGERIA SHOULD CONTINUE WITH THE TWO TIER NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OR ONE [1] WHY WE DEMAND A REFERENDUM ON WHETHER WE STILL NEED BOTH THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES IN NIGERIA – We have not seen nor spoken to any Nigerian who, in all honesty, wants the National Assembly as it is today, to stay. The common consensus is that the National Assembly as it is today, is a waste of tax-payers money. For example, – Over 80 Billion Naira is spent servicing the lives and luxuries of 109 Nigerian Senators and their over 2,000 aides. – Almost similar amount is spent on the 360 members of the House of Representatives and their retinue of Aides. – No one can categorically say how much the National Assembly budgets each year as it's budget is the most secretive document in Nigeria. – No Nigerian can say that they are satisfied with the way and manner Constituency Projects are not executed across the nation. – The National Assembly as constituted today, is a burden that we are currently bearing to please the mistake of our constitution drafters who desired ‘vast’ representation from all parts of the country. In reality, this can be achieved with lesser number of people in the National Assembly as our experience show that we have never been consulted on any issues as the Law makers represent themselves and not us. – The National Assembly as it's constituted today, is confused as to its primary role of lawmaking. They have mistaken "Oversight Functions for harassing, intimidating and humiliating Public officers and Online Media Practitioners who refuse to dance to their tunes. – The National Assembly has caused Nigeria several deadlocks in governance and passage of important legislation. – It's also known that whatever the Lower House passes, the Upper House confirms. So what's the use and need of having both of them? This has led to the wasting of the time and energy of Nigerians to pass legislation that ordinarily would take shorter time. – Politics and selfish-interests are placed above Nigerians, who sometimes have had to wait years to have IMPORTANT and LIFE-CHANGING legislation passed. [2] OUR DEMAND: Give us a referendum where we as Nigerians, can decide if: [1.] We want to keep this National Assembly as it is now OR Not; [2.] If not, which house should we keep? [a.] the Senate OR [b.] the House Of Represent [3.] We appreciate that a REFERENDUM is an expensive demand particularly at this time of oil glut and economic malaise but it would be worth a huge savings if Nigerians vote to have just one House at the National Assembly. Our demand is in the interest of our nation. We want a streamlined, more efficient, cost effective, better focused National Assembly that will better serve the interests of all Nigerians. Please return power to the people of Nigeria by giving us a referendum. Yours Faithfully, SIGNED People of Nigeria. https://www.change.org/p/president-muhammadu-buhari-demand-a-referendum-on-whether-nigeria-should-retain-the-two-houses-of-national-assembly |

Most Nigerians that claim to be learned are indeed illiterates; especially the kids on Nairaland. I'm quite sure most did not read the letter at all. If they had, they would realise that the letter WAS not a condemnation or malicious letter. Yes, I wrote WAS. The letter WAS actually written and submitted to the president in SEPTEMBER 2016. It is not a recent letter. The letter is a 16 page (excluding the appendices) in depth x-ray of the internal crisis of the APC vis-a-vis the socio-economic challenges of the country and candid recommendations to tackle them. If anything at all, the letter was respectfully worded without any trace of conflict as the haters are interpreting it to be. El Rufai focused on the excesses of the Chief of Staff and SGF considered to be given ill advice to the president as already alleged by the First Lady. He intimated the president on general public opinion about the government and how things can be turned around. And believe me, there are signs that some of the advices from the letter have been adopted particularly in the resolution of internal crisis in the party. Selling the letter to project failure is far from what the letter really means. The colour of the taxi in the background gave away where the HATE SALE is coming from. |

Cutehector:As far as I'm concerned, you are stuck with this "ILLEGAL GOVERNMENT" till 2023... |
obinoral1179:You definitely don't understand the politics behind this move. The creation of Ijebu State is inevitable once another round of state creation comes around. The two Universities you mentioned fall within Ijebu axis of the state. This means that the Ogun Central Axis and Yewa will be left with no state University when the Ijebus eventually exit. Note that FUNAAB is a Federal University. I believe it's a step in the right direction. |
TonyeBarcanista:Party of the People indeed. PDP is experiencing is slow and painful death. "PDP is Dead and gone, whether you believe it or not" .......Obj |
To say that I'm disappointed in Dr. is an understatement. Forget the use of sarcasm, we all know the mindset for the article. Making mockery of another man's ill health all the name of politics is inhumane to say the least. Dr. Abati, you are no better than those publicly wishing the man dead. I hope you realize you have err with this piece and make amends in any way you can. I believe some of your 50-laptop crew are still online and will relay the feelings of people to you accordingly. |
GossipHeart:Nah wa ooo. Even accident na Buhari. Either you like it or not, you are stuck with Buhari till 2019 and possibly 2023. |
kensandrea:Na wah oooo. See this one too!!! |
Cubeet:A tribal bigot on the loose...... A dog leash from anybody please? |
samuel051:And your blunders in the quoted clearly confirm the guy's claim. |
bettercreature:Na wah for u oo. How is Jammeh = Jamiu. Mind yourself ooo |
