This question has been asked countless number of times and has also been answered.. None is better than the other.. Even though we have had more approvals with the Regular portal(I don't call it Old cos its still very much in use) than the new one... The regular portal is restricted to 4MB of documents upload, while the new portal is restricted to 2mb.. The regular portal contains IRCC forms to be filled, the new portal doesn't contain any form , you will answer all questions straighUp.. So none is better than the other, just choose the one that you ae comfortable with.. Peace Filanodivine: Hello house, to start my visa process which platform will I use, the new ircc website. I hear there’s old and new website, which one is pre effective. Thank you |

No reason Every application is different and unique.. There is no specific timeline for a final decision from IRCC, even the processing time on the IRCC website isn't strictly followed.. Just submit your application and be positively patient for your Final decision. Peace jce: From what I have seen, there are people that get their ppr within a space of 3months while some up to a year, is there a reason for this |

Congrats Ekulu You put your trust in God and he didn't fail you, all glory to God.. And I am glad my little contribution to your questions helped in a way... Go and conquer in Canada, your time has come.. Peace Ekulu77: ORIGINAL PASSPORT REQUEST !!! GOD DID IT Protocol breaking God. It ended in praise After 9months of submitting my application First time application GRAND UNCLE SPONSORSHIP It will be so bad and ungrateful if don’t come back here to give my timeline to help others , the way other people helped me too. I got every information I needed from nairaland ranging from submitting application to writing sop all information gotten from nairaland ,with very good people that are willing to help. TIMELINE Submit application:May 15th 2021 Biometrics request:May 16th 2021 Biometrics appointment:May 26th 2021 Biometrics updated:May 26th 2021 Upfront medical: June 16th 2021 Medicals updated: July 13th 2021 Ordered my 1st gcsmnotes :September 26th 2021 Gcsmnotes received:November 29th 2021 Ordered another gcsmnotes : January 26th 2022 Correspondence letter:February 17th 2022 PPR:February 17th 2022.
DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED PROOF OF FUNDS SOLE SPONSOR - UNCLE 6MONTHS BANK STATEMENT CAC of his company Landed properties passport bio data Survey of his landed properties Memorandum and article of association of company Certificate of occupancy of landed properties Waec results Secondary school testimonial Secondary school transcripts Letter of recommendation from my school Letter of volunteer at an hospital Letter of sponsorship Letter of consent from my parents Letter of acceptance Pictures with my sponsor Picture with my sponsor and parent Awards from school including that I was the head girl
Note : my gcsmnotes I ordered stated insufficient proof of third party sponsorship . I came to nairaland to ask for what I should do . I was asked to act fast on it because it is very close to a refusal but God doesn’t fail. Nairaland gurus told me to fire back using email and webform this thing actually works most important the general webform which make you know that they have received your enquiry. *Letter of explanation explaining the relationship between I and my sponsor why he would what to sponsor me . *I stated that his children are grownups and successfully established in their careers so he doesn’t have major financial responsibility towards them *birth certificate of my grand uncle and my grandma, *family tree, *old pictures of my grand uncle and grand ma , *recent pictures of my grand uncle and I on my Graduation day *Receipt of my full year tuition fees, *stating that GIC account will be created for me once my visa is approved Also, all glory and honour to God that made this possible because this application is far from perfect . “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;” Proverbs 3:5 NIV. With prayer and fasting the application was approved. Also , trust God while waiting because I was so discouraged when I come to nairaland and I see most application with uncle sponsorship are not approved even those with same surnames talk less of me that it is grand uncle with different surname from mine. I told God that I want my application to be different with this grand uncle sponsorship. I want to give a testimony of grand uncle sponsorship because what’s impossible with man is possible with God. Also, while waiting try to distract yourself from thinking of it because it really affects one’s mental especially. The waiting period is not easy but it will be easier if you have faith in God . I joined NLP by pastor b which made me closer to God and speak to God about my application. In the mighty the name of God , those that are planning to submit their application and people waiting for a decision to be made on their application they will get a positive decision very soon in Jesus name because mark 11:24 “That what ever you ask in prayers believe you have receive it and it is yours”Also ,remember “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 . Thank you so much nairalanders always answering my questions especially @ makano , @scott9ish , @anon123 , @liana2020 @justmellow ( who said he his looking forward to my testimony here is it ) and others that I forgot to mention .I really appreciate. I hope this helps someone. |

Then you are good to go Mama... You sound truthful in your post.. Once they are done with their further review and see that your hands are clean, then they will gladly give you your Visa.. It will end in praise Peace mama12345: I definitely obeyed the rules. I am a lawyer by profession so integrity is very important to me. Even after studying there, I still have Valid tourist Visa for both countries on my passport including Schengen Visa as well and I included them in my application. I however changed my name twice, from my maiden name to my spouses name then back to my maiden name. I included the affidavits, news paper publication and order absolute from the court as well. Maybe they are worried because of my place of birth/state of origin (Northeast Nigeria) Lol |

Hello Deronke One thing to consider when applying for study Visa is home ties.. What many married applicants do is that either of the spouse applies for s study permit and uses the other souse as home ties, to prove to the Visa Officer that there is a reason for coming back to your home country after your studies in Canada. With this, the Visa officer will know that no sensible married partner will leave his or her spouse behind and abscond to Canada.. So its always advisable for one partner to apply first and get to Canada, once you land in Canada and get your study permit and SIN, then you can now apply for your partner to come meet you via Spousal permit application. You can as well apply together, but this is if you have strong home ties in your home country that will facilitate your return to your home country.. Remember its a temporary Visa you are applying for and not a Permanent resident Visa.. Peace Deronke1: Hi guys, so my husband and I are planning on applying together. Him for student visa and I for Sowp. I currently work at nafdac, just 1 year and its my only work experience. I've taken many online courses. What are the criteria for sowp? Am I eligible? Good to know @bolded Now these countries you mentioned and other countries you visited, hope you obeyed their immigration rules, hope you didn't overstay your permit in these countries.. Canada shares information with these countries, so they are probably getting information about your immigration status in these countries and if you totally obeyed their rules or not.. Also Change of name shouldn't be an issue so far you summited the documents to proof the change of name. i.e Affidavit of change of name form a State High court and also Newspaper publication.. Except you didn't submit these documents though... Since you said you were 100% truthful in your application, then be positive, it will end in praise.. Peace mama12345: I was 100% truthful in my application, I also added my police reports for both when I was schooling in England and the United States as well which they said was passed. I am assuming the reason is because of Change of name on my documents perhaps. I have always applied for all my Visa's myself without using any third party because I don't want people putting a wrong information. I am believing for a positive response.
Thank You |

Hello mama This exact message from IRCC comes on rare occasions.. This simply means your application has been transferred to a Senior Visa officer by a Junior officer for further review before a final decision is made.. Now hope you didn't withhold any information at all from them, also hope you didn't submit conflicting documents.. Cos for them to have said your application isn't straightforward means there is something fishy, and they really wanna do their thorough investigation on your application which will lead to a further delay.. If truly you are truthful with your application and you didn't hide any information from them, then expect a positive decision from them.. The ghost updates just means they are actively on your case, nothing special.. It will end in praise if you were truthful with your application.. Peace mama12345: Hello, please I got a reply from IRCC from an email I sent on 17th January, Please what does it mean? The response is below. I also got my third Ghost update today.
IRCC records confirm that your application was received on September 6, 2021, and is being processed at the Canadian visa office in Nairobi. Criminality checks and medical examination results are passed, however, further review is required before an eligibility decision is made. This means that the case is no longer straightforward and will, in most situations, lead to additional delays in processing. Once a decision has been made, officers will be in a position to determine next steps in processing. Submission/AOR 6th September 2021 Medicals Passed 25th October 2021 1st Ghost update November (Not sure of exact date) 2nd Ghost update 24th January 2022 3rd Ghost update 19th February 2022 |

Hello Tolu 1. Immediately you get your study permit and SIN on your arrival in Canada, you can apply for a visiting Visa for your kids. 2. You will be applying for a study permit for yourself and Visiting visa for your Kids.. 3. Your kids are still underage, the Visiting Visa should work for them.. You can as well convert to a study permit for them, this shouldn't be too much issue.. 4. Since your hudband will be on and off in Canada, then he should apply for a Visiting permit to Canada.. Once he is ready to settle with you in Canada, then you should apply for a spousal permit for him.. Peace tolupe1: Hello everyone, I have the following questions:
1, I am married with 2 young kids but I applied alone. How soon after I land can I apply for my kids?
2, What visa type should I apply for? Visitors visa or open study permit? Kids are currently 5 and 7 years old.
3, How easy or fast is it to convert the kids visitors visa to study permit in Canada?
4, Husband doesn’t work in Nigeria. He needs to stay in the country he is working in to make money for I and the kids on moving to Canada. Question is, which visa type should we process for him cos he will be coming and going. SOWP can not work in this instance.
I will appreciate all the response I can get. Thank you all. |

Hello greeners Honestly, there is no specific timeline for this.. I have seen applicants getting a final decision days after Eligibility started.. And also months after Eligiibity started.. But most of the Final decisions that came days(2-3 days) after Eligibilty started has been refusals.. This is just based on my observation though, as the operation of IRCC can't be 100% known.. Peace greeners222: Please house how long does eligibility last for It says we are reviewing weather you meet the eligibility requirements. |

Hello dharkudo This should be easy to tackle though.. Work on your study plan.. Convince the Visa Officer that your proposed course will be so beneficial to your career on your return back to your country.. Make sure your Proposed course is closely related to either your 1ST DEGREE or your JOB.. You see that Travel history, that one is just there, its never an issue.. Work on your study plans and see Travel history disappear.. But like always, I will advise you apply for your GCMS notes to know the real concerns of the Visa Officer, so you will know how best to tackle the VO concerns.. Peace dharkudo: Good evening everyone, I recently just joined this forum. Got my visa refusal on the 14th of February and I'll welcome any pointers as I reapply. Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds: • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status. |

Hello Otunbablack Below are the answers to each of your questions to the best of my knowledge and experience with approved applicants.. 1. Like I always say, in as much as closing balance is important, it is not the only thing the Visa officer focuses on in an SOA.. Another major aspect they look out for is the Inflow and outflow of the account i.e the total credit and debit of the account at the end of the stated duration of the SOA.. With this they will know how active an account is, and this will convince them further that indeed this account is very much active and not dormant.. I have worked with an approved applicant who had a closing balance of 500k with an inflow of over N150M.. But this said applicant has paid full school fess though... Just make sure your inflow is heavy enough even though you may not have millions as your closing balance.. 2. IRCC requires 4 - 6 months SOA for POF.. 3. Not an issue.. Just make sure she submits her Business invoice/ receipts.. And if she pays Tax for her business, then that will also be useful.. 4. Why don't you wanna drop your SOA though, you should drop it. You can have your mum send you your school fees or the living expenses to your account with a detailed narration for these purposes.. Its important to submit your SOA as the applicant, even though your Sponsor's SOA will be tendered.. And sending your employment letter isn't an option, in fact you should submit all docs that relates to your JOB.. 5) This is kinda dicey though cos I have seen a Visa Officer refuse an applicant cos of his ties in Canada. He has 2 elder siblings in Canada, one Citizen and the other a student.. This was stated in his GCMS notes.. And at the same time I have seen an Applicant who got an approval with hsi Elder sister who is in Canada being his sponsor.. So it depends, you can make mention of him in your Family form but do not put in deatils about him since he isn't your sponsor.. Peace OtunbaBlack: Alright guys I need clarity on some few things. I’m an aspirant and intend to apply later in the year, I’m trying to gather necessary documents and prepare well.
1) when you submit statement of account, is the closing balance really necessary? Cause I intend to use my mum as my sponsor and she buys and sells. Meaning the closing balance might be off. How much do you think it’s realistic to have to show POF and also must the morning be left in the account all through the duration of the visa process?
2) how many months statement of account is ok to submit.
3) my mum owns a business she has CAC but she uses her personal account run her business. Would this be an issue?
4) I work also but I don’t think using my own statement of account would work at all. Though I can easily get access to my pay slip. I’ve being working with company since early last year. I intend using my employment letter. Would it affect that I included my employment letter and not put my statement of account?
5) I have a brother in Canada, I’ll prefer not to mention him at all even as ties to Nigeria. I feel putting him in might deter my chances. What’s your take.
@ketima @makano @legacyedition @frankrobnn1 and other gurus. Over to you |
