Hi @Emma2017

For sure I can help.

But please note that applications for Winter semester 2017/18 are closed already. And it’s only available in winter semesters. What you can do is to begin preparing every necessary documents from now till end of March next year e.g. your transcripts of results, strong motivation letter, university certificate, letter from your Uny to exempt you from writing English Language tests, 2 Recommendation letters from notable professors from your UGrad Uny, a detailed Europass CV (just in case) and your international passport having at least 6 months before expiration. If you have other certifications in special programs you can add them too.

Hope this helps.

Shallom!

Hallo Leute! Hi guys! (In Jenny's Voice)

I just want to say a big THANK YOU to God, and a very big shout out to all who contribute immensely on this thread every time. And a big congrats to everyone who have gotten AMs and also gotten visas.

I'm writing to encourage newbies that, with God, anything is possible! And also to let you know, this thread is loaded! Its a mine loaded with more-than-useful information. Its a collection of encyclopedias begging to give you abundant and more-than-enough knowledge, just like wisdom is crying in the streets to everyone who desires to have her. You should not ignore the pleas of all who ask you to read it from previous pages.

Since 2015 when I got my admission to study M.Sc ERM at B-TU, and after being refused a visa that year, I deferred my admission to WS2016, and then to WS2017 again due to a whole lot of issues. But, believe it or not, I'm writing to you right here from Germany. I've begun studying! It can only be God!

I went for my first interview on August 18 2015. I got my new admission letter sometime in April 2017, applied for a visa and got a date for June 20 2017. I got a Go-fund-me mail from the embassy on the 25th of September 2017 to fund until the 10th of October 2017. I was finally able to pay in completely on that same date (Twas a big miracle, all thanks to God), but I had to write the embassy that I had funded (proof of transfers were also attached) and that DB will later send the confirmation, so I needed some more time, which was honored.

Long story short, DB confirmation dropped 11th of October, AM dropped on the 12th of October, Visa was collected by hand from the embassy 3 days after AM dropped (I had to write a letter to the embassy to this effect since I was running out of time with enrollment).

God favored me all the way. To all who aspire to achieve this dream, remain tenacious and resilient, and with Jesus on your side granting you favor, you're good to go! I believe God will favor you all too.

So this is me saying, All the best guys! Tschuss!

A BIG BIG congratulations bruv!

Negro1986:
Good evening my E-family, I just received an email from the embassy this evening stating that I should send my passport and travel health insurance (ie my visa is ready). I wish to use this opportunity to thank all members of this forum for making this possible by your wonderful contributions and sometimes advises, both the Ogas in Germany and the so called newbies, I can't count how many times most of you paid for my Uni-Assist fee right from part 2, I may not be able to mention all your names coz your many, you guys know yourselves, may God continue to guide and be with you guys in all you do...

I did my interview on 30th June 2017, and I also funded my blocked account before the interview.

Please my Ogas in Hamburg , ur boy dey come oooo, make una help me arrange accommodation before October 1st. Though I have applied to Hamburg studierendwerk for accommodation in student hostel since May, however am still on their wait list ,so any suggestions for alternative accommodation is welcomed .....

May I also use this opportunity to remind those still waiting for their own interview dates and visa result to be hopeful that God is in control , at the end of the day, they all will also praise the Good Lord Amen..

Thank you guys once more ,,

LoL...Same ol' questions. Never changing. Same person that interviewed me too. Most likely will be same person to interview most of us 'cos she's particularly there for Long Term Visas, and that includes Student Visas. If she's the one, then you're good to go if you know and answered all her questions correctly. No mago mago, No wayo!

I must say, Congrats all the way bruv!

The vaccination card part was just a panic strategy. I think He does that often, just to be sure you aren't nervous or fearful and can confidently face his colleagues inside too. During my time, he screamed at me at first but I was unmoved. It was simply just because I gave him my 2 visa application forms and the 2 passport photos instead of just the forms alone when he requested for "your two completed visa application forms" LoL. In my mind I was like, "why didn't you just tell me to remove the passport photos rather than yell!"

Anyways, for the rest of us, for whatever reasons never fall for it. Its only a panic strategy, that's all!

Success stories await the rest of us.

Shalom!

Got to the embassy gate around 5:58 am " the one that demarcates American and German Embassy" come see crowd for there "American embassy people reach like dem wan go do crusade"
Got to German consulate by 6:01 am. Had to greet those on queue "they are visit visa" (E no concern).
Paulinus appeared around 6:09 am and started singing morning devotion songs from his android phone. The guy is just too principled and bit unethical "he told one OLD woman to sit behind even as there was no space for her to pass to go and sit behind as those in front were even willing to go back because of her age" be wary of him.
He called on student visa applicants "I was the only one on ground, so he called on me demanding for my appointment letter and passport"
We started sorting documents and on the long run asked of my baptism or vassination card, I told him I don't have and he said why? I told him I'm a Muslim and he said he's not talking about religion here that even Muslims have "with his ugly fair face". He started reasoning others applicants issue. He told me authoritatively that if any documents are missing and was told to go bring them, he wouldn't let me in anymore.
Successfully, I crossed his shackles constructed route.
Inside the security phase those guys were forming gods as if they are the one to gv me visa. Them too do like boss, I Register my name and passed through.
I was directed to go through the green line which I did. Entered the office and was shivering because of the cold and had to move back Cos of the A/C, very very cold.
I was called in by the VO "one small black Nigerian" (very gorgeous though but pulls in commanding character, from her charismatic self)
She started by
Ur documents, Ur original Certificates, Ur Visa fee, Ur courier envelope "thought I forgot that, she gave a command that I should go get it within 3 minutes" while the thing dey my documents.

And the Visa has started dropping. Just got my mail to send my health insurance plus my passport for stamping. Germany here I come!!!

Congratulobia! I think I told you not to worry at all.

One tip for you: don't book for your ticket too earlier. I discovered on wakanow that its more expensive flying to Frankfurt when u book 6 weeks in advance (cheapest and most convenient I got was 207k approximately, Royal Air Maroc with one stop over at casablanca, 9hrs 30mins for total time of flight) than when you book 1 or 2 weeks in advance (cheapest I got was 185k, same airline, same route, same number of stopovers and total time of flight). Please everyone could experiment this and give feedbacks, thanks. But this was what I discovered when I experimented with booking on wakanow last week.

PS: Please if anyone has another cheaper better way of booking kindly post here. Thanks in advance.

I didn't tick it. I think there are parts of the form (including this part too) that don't really apply to student visas. So whether you tick it or not, it has no effect on the application. The first question one should ask is, since student visas are long term visas spanning more than 12 months, and the German embassy never gives a visa permit for more than 3/6 months from here (they know when we get there we will have to extend the permit to be able to remain in Germany for the period of our studies there,) then ticking it or not is irrelevant.
(My thoughts though, I stand to be corrected.)

uchevolata:
Hello,

Please did you tick the below?

I intend to stay no longer than twelve months in the Federal territory and apply for a visa that covers the whole duration of my stay.

Let me know...thank you

Relax man! I didn't tick it too. So long as you were not contacted by the embassy or FedEx/DHL after the first 2 weeks from your interview to come for your documents, it means they have very strong interests in giving you the visa. They were simply waiting for you to fund your account, that's all. Since you've funded now, just ensure you send them the notification from the bank once you have it by mail so they can start processing your visa. In short, you have the visa already bro. Congrats! Go and start celebrating. Start packing your things and get set for #WINTER

Negro1986:

I did not tick it when I submitted my visa application, I thought it meant that since I will spend two years which is more than a year that I should not tick??, hope it won't affect my visa application, it has been up to 20 days after my interview now and no message yet from the embassy and I have equally funded my blocked account ...?

Yes. But include your department, i.e. the name of the course you are going for.

For example, you can put:

International Office
Department of Industrial Economics
University of North Rhine WestPhalia
0304625 NRW, Germany.

If you know any specific contact person at the department or the international office there, or the name of the person written on your admission letter (usually the person who prepares and sends the admission letter), you can add their name first before stating the address.

Hope this helps.

uchevolata:
Hello,

Can the reference in Germany also be just the name of the school, phone number and email? It can go right?

reference in Germany could be your course coordinator or someone in your program assigned to you.(personal tutor).

I honestly still do not understand how this FORM A at Zenith bank is possible. I visited one and was told that FORM A is not for funding individual or personal accounts, but for corporate accounts. And you said they still funded using FORM A last month? Please I'd really like to know which branch and what was required for the funding to be done.

Thanks in advance.

donkafor:
Zenith charged 405 last month. Don't know the current amount. Actually, form A is sanctioned in USD at 360 per dollar. That's CBN set price. The money will be converted from USD to EUR at the point of entry.

At least, it's still going contrary to some people's claim.

Chemintz, Zwikau all in Saxony....... without a command of the German language, it might be hard to hold down a job, its best you try to contact Nigerian students in the city already. Holiday jobs however are very possible. I can only vouch for Leipzig and Dresden in that state. However, cost of living is definitely veeeery low. so, there you have it. Try to identify with NSIG (Nigerian Scholars In Germany) in the zone your city falls within, you might get useful information.

No bank bids in Euro. Form A is sanctioned only in USD at 360. Auto conversion at the point of entry.

Hi. I just sent you a PM. Kindly respond with a fresh mail and not by replying the PM, so I can get your message. Thanks.

BTW, I've been told by these banks you mentioned that form A is no longer used for payments being made into an account that's not in the name of an institution like a school (for school fees) or a hospital (for medical bills) or any other institutions of such sort.

Up until April 2017 form A was possible. But I doubt it is now. They claim CBN just released a new policy to this effect. Since the blocked accounts (both DB and Fintiba) are in our names, it makes it almost impossible to use FORM A now.

Please if anyone has funded recently (this month of July) in a cheap way other than FORM A, kindly just let us know. Please please and please! Thanks in advance.

Take note of the bold text. I think that's where the problem might be coming from. You can't apply for both B.Sc and M.Sc in the same course/department in the same school for the same period/time frame/semester. It sounds funny to me, like you're trying to gamble or something. I think the department/UNI-ASSIST might be thinking something is wrong somewhere.

I'd suggest you write the school/department or UNI-ASSIST concerning this, just to clear your doubts.

Hello House,

Please who has been able to buy a waec scratch card, from banks in Lagos?

I literally, have gone to UBA, WEMA, SKYE, Fidelity all in Lekki and they don't have one.

Can anyone suggest where to get one?

Thank you

I suggest you go to WAEC Hqtr office at Yaba, or any other WAEC office in Lagos, like Ogba Area/Zonal office. They'll sell it to you there. Even the merchants that stand outside the offices will sell to you without you having to enter the WAEC office itself. I don't think you should go through online method 'cos it may not look "authentic" to the embassy since they are already used to seeing a regular scratch card.

(Just my thoughts though!)

1. I wasn't properly informed about the processes. I think this thread has done justice in providing more than sufficient information you need.

2. Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. I took the preparation (spiritual and mental) processes lightly. I didn't prepare well at all the first time. If I will advice you, you need to rehearse every answer well. Prepare as much as you can. Rehearse in front of a mirror like you were facing the VO, and answer the questions to yourself. It will help. But overall, try not to answer mechanically or like a programmed robot because of 'overcramming' lol. It could cost you.

Best wishes all the way!

I got it 500 naira in PH where I live...but that was in 2015 when I was first denied a visa at the embassy. It wasn't used then but was returned back to me. I simply used it again since it doesn't expire. It shouldn't be more than A thousand bucks now, max.

Oh...okay. Better then. I actually didn't know there's an updated one. I downloaded that in April.

Youre on point mann.

I can see the checklist of documents required for student visa interview that you attached is the February 2017 one and the checklist includes the questionnaire on verification on data you referred to)

However, the recent updated checklist released in May 2017 excludes the questionnaire which you referred to.

So this affirms your position that it's not needed.

To @Uchevolata and all the rest,

Hi!

Happy Sunday.

In addition to @Negro1986's post concerning his interview on June 30, here's a quick one for y'all going for your interviews soon. U can download the attached files and study them. Its a transcript of questions asked during my interview that held on the 20th of June 2017, and some possible answers, and also a copy of my motivational letter and some other useful docs that might be of help in preparing for the interview (please don't copy and paste word for word, just simply improvise from them, thanks!) My experience was quite a great one, and I pray its even better for you all.

As for preparations, its important you do the following if you can:

1. Pray and trust God that you've gone to Germany already by faith. Eliminate fear and anxiety in prayers. Resist and cast down thoughts of failure that come. Trust God and have a high level of confidence.

2. Go to the embassy a day before your interview (if you can, to avoid rushing or disorganization on your interview day), say around 11 am when they aren't really attending to anyone again. Soak in the air around the environment there. Don't worry, you won't be harassed by any MOPOL or our friendly Mr Paul (I think that's his name.) You can even introduce yourself to him and tell him your interview is the next day and you just came to make inquiry. He will tell you what you need to know, cos he can actually be that nice. Just familiarize yourself with the environment, especially if you've not been there before. Note that the VISA FEE is #20,500. Have the exact amount with you. You should also get to the car park and ask for the FedEx stall where you will get your prepaid envelope (within 350-3000 naira if you are sending within Lagos depending on the location, and 1000-4000 naira for outside Lagos depending on the state you're sending it to. PH is 3,700 naira with FedEx) The ladies there know how to address the envelope appropriately, just give them your details. Get your passports if you don't have them yet (White background, 35mm x 45mm) there at the embassy car park too. Don't patronize touts please. It could cost you more. I had to re-trim the 2 pictures I used to the required specs after paying #1,200 (I know that's cheap, it could be more, say, #1,500 - #2000 depending on your bargaining power.)

On the day of the interview, please arrive at least 30 mins before the time given to you. It is expected that the time given to you is the time you should be inside and not the time you're just arriving the embassy. Its one reason our dear Mr Paul bounces people. Also, arrange your documents as a set of originals and two photocopies in the same order. Staple one of your passports to your application form and detach one. You may have to leave the signature part of your visa application form unsigned till you're in front of the VO. That was how I did mine, though I don't think you'll be penalized if you've signed it already. Please note that the "verification of applicants data" form in the checklist is not needed at the embassy (I wonder why they left it on the checklist undecided ) You only need the Declaration according to section 54 bla bla bla form. Make sure all your documents (both originals and photocopies) are in order while collating. Endeavor to remove your international passport from its jacket, it won't be needed at the embassy.

Lastly, be as sincere and truthful as you can be during the interview. Don't be too rigid or dogmatic. For example, If you currently work, let them know and attach proof. If you don't know the answer to any question, just be sincere about it that you "can't answer such a question at this time because you aren't sure." Prepare well and read/study/memorize/practice over and over and over again. Remember, its only an interview and not a firing squad. The VOs are nice people when you cooperate with them and do what they ask you to do promptly. The young dark tall lady that interviewed me speaks German as well as Yoruba (She's Nigerian of course) and she was benevolent enough to exercise patience with me while I answered my questions. Just don't go there tense. Its not a firing squad I repeat.

Okay, I'm tired of typing. Let's make do with this for now. If any other thing comes to my mind I'll post it here.

I pray for great unprecedented success all the way for y'all going for your interviews this month and next month.

God's Speed, God's best!
