Congratulations to you and the family. Indeed, really happy for you. Thanks for sharing vividly the experience which is invaluable to us going in for interview soon. God's grace as you prepare for the journey into God's own Country.

G2Glory: My Fellow Forumities,
Good morning to you all and we are highly excited to inform the house that we had a successful & wonderful interview this morning.

It is the Lord's doing & it's marvelous in our sight. I am very grateful for the exprience/advice shared on this forum. By the grace of God almighty we shall all end with shouting of rejoicing in Jesus name.

Now, our Itinerary:

Pre_interview Activities:
- All documentation were properly arranged with Principal applicant leading.
- Ensured the originals & Photocopies (Birth certificate, Police report, School Certificates & Medicals) are in order.
- We ensure no document(s) was missing & did a thourogh check before leaving.
- We had a review all the forms sent KCC & had a dry run interview with my spouse for consistency.
- We got the children involved by reminding them of their birthdays.
-We prayed & sought for God's favour & help before leaving home.
-We had a baby after sending our forms to KCC & we had notified them (LagosIV) before the interview date.
-We prepared his own DS230 form & presented it at the venue.
- We left home early enough & arrived at embassy by 5.45am and drove in with the entire family.

At the Embassy:
By 6am, we moved in & there was a briefing & 2 lines were formed for Immigrant & Non-Immigrant
- Were instructed to remove phones, electronic gadgets, oil, liquid, metal object but i was allowed in with my car key.
- Were instructed to please open your medical envelopes (All seal envelopes must be opened & failure to do that point may resulted in turning you back - pls be attentive to the instruction)
- At first point: Principal applicant was called & requested for 2NL, then we were given a slip for payment, blue tags & number was given to us.
- Another slip was given to us to fill in Principal applicant name, email & Address.
- Next we got seated & waited for security checks (Pls ensure you abide the instruction to do away those items that are forbidden).
- We moved inside for final security check (scanning machine) before we were ushered into the hall.
- As you entered, you will be given a number that will serve you for the day. Immigrant applicant were other to seat separately.
- We waited patiently until they called our number for payment - we did that in USD & issued a receipt (don't misplace it).
- We got seated & waited for sometime before they started attending to Immigrant visa.
- About six(6) families came this morning & first two families were granted.
- About few minutes to 9am, my spouse was called & moved toward the counter with new baby & i was called as well.
- We were told to raise up our right hand make an oath to say the truth & we did accordingly. All forms were given to us to sign & either of us signed for the children.
- Our fingreprints were taken. I was instructed to go & sit down while my spouse was to be interviewed.
- The conversation goes thus:

CO: Your name?
Spouse: Answer according

CO: when did u get married?
Spouse: Answer accordingly

CO: Where do u work & what is your role?
Spouse:Answer accordingly

CO: You had a baby after submitting your form to KCC & what are the proof to show?
Spouse: DS 230 form was submitted & signed there, we presented the photograph for naming, church dedication, photograph showing family members with us during the naming, etc

CO: Have been to US?
Spouse: No

Now the CO called me for clarification:
CO: Have u been to US before?
Me: No

CO: You have a valid visa & why have you not used it?
Me: I explained that i was to go for a conference but had to postpone to later date.

CO: She said CONRATULATIONS. Brought 2 papers & handed it over to my spouse & explained what we need to do. All our originals were returned.

Spouse: Bursted to laughter & we gave all glory to GOD for this milestone.

Lesson & Advice for Others:

- I saw someone that came with passport phoograph that did not meet specification. Pls adhere to instruction. The person was lucky & was told to go out & take a correct one.

- Someone international passport dropped from his enveloped & never knew only for someone to find it & return it to the security guys.

-Pls avoid anything that can put on pressure & ensure that you arrnge your document very well.

- For us, they did not collect the photocpies of police report i strongly advice you go with it on the day of interview.
- Stay focus & don't manipulate in any way & by the grace of GOD we all stand 99.999% of getting if you meet the requirement.

More gist later, i need to go - GOD us all.

Dear Forumites,
My interview is in the early days of December and I have some concerns I'd like the gurus in the house to throw some light on:
1. I hold 2 Masters Degrees (MBA and MSC) whose certificates I did not bother to collect all the while cos of the tedious processes involved, my lack of available time to do that and the fact that I didn't need them all the while as I am self employed. Now with the lingering ASUU strike, its become very difficult to get the certificates or statement of results. Will a "to whom it may concern" note which I collected a while ago do for the purpose of the interview should I not be able to obtain the certificates before the interview?
2. In the forms I sent to KCC, the portions where I was required to provide the name and address of the place I am going to reside on arrival to the US, I answered "not yet known" because at the time I was still discussing with possible hosts. Now I have the full address of where I will be staying. Do I need to send a mail to the embassy to update this piece of information on my forms or do I wait and update that at the embassy during my interview? My interview notification letter (2nl) is already with me.
thanks.

Dear CO,
I appreciate a great deal the information and guidance you have provided through this forum. Since I discovered the forum I have been following keenly all the updates here. I am a DV 2014 Selectee and current in the coming months. I have a concern which I need you to throw more light on. In my initial application the passport photograph I uploaded with the application for my then 3 months old Son had his eyes closed. It was a challenge to get him to open his eyes while we took the pictures and so I had to use what was obtainable at the time. Will this situation negatively affect my application? Just concerned. Would appreciate your take on this Sir.

I a DV2014 selectee, I have filed my forms at KCC and they are already processing. Based on my case number, I should be current in November and possibly have my interview in Nov/Dec. My challenge is getting a place where I and my family (wife and 2 kids) can stay for the 1st month before getting our accommodation. We are looking at Washington DC, California, Texas, Ohio or Oregon. Please would appreciate any help in this regard as I would have to provide the address at the interview.
TravelRe: DV 2014 Winners Meet Here by Malcolm28(m): 3:57pm On Aug 16, 2013
My case number is in the 76** range. Going by the current bulletin, I should be current by November. Does one need a guarantor in the US for DV? Came across one guarantor form don't know if it applied to DV applicants. Any info in this regard will help.
TravelRe: I Am A U.S. Consular Officer: Ask Me Your Visa Questions. by Malcolm28(m): 5:19pm On Aug 06, 2013
Hello CO,
Thanks for the brilliant responses to the questions here. I am a DV2014 selectee and have asked questions and received answers from you before. My question goes thus: In Question 10 on the DS0230 FORM where the following question was asked "Permanent Address in the United States where you intend to live if known (Street Name Including Zip Code) Include the name of the person who currently lives there" My response was " Permanent Address in the United States where I intend to Live not known yet". Will this affect my application? and should I immediately get an address and file to KCC to ensure I am not denied a visa? I'd appreciate your take on this. Much appreciated Sir.
TravelRe: I Am A U.S. Consular Officer: Ask Me Your Visa Questions. by Malcolm28(m): 2:23pm On Aug 02, 2013
VisaOfficer: Congratulations!

1. The medical reports have to be processed by a panel physician who works with the Embassy or Consulate. There should be a list on the website, or you can e-mail the Embassy or Consulate and ask for the list.
2. I think you can aassume everything's okay. I imagine KCC is a little like my own office, and I know that when we're shortstaffed it can take me a little longer to open my mail, sort through it, make sure everything gets put in the right files, review the files to see what else needs to be done, and contact the applicants. So just because something arrived on August 2, it may not be processed on August 3. (We know this is stressful for people and we do try to hurry.)
3. Annoyingly, I have no idea how that part of the process works. My guess is six months? But that's just a guess. From my point of view, cases come to me and I interview people; I'm not sure how the cases are put into the queue.

Best of luck!
Thanks for the answers. I'm sure i will get the specifics as the days go by. Much appreciated. Looking forward to be interviewed by YOU grin

Dear CO, I'd like to first of all appreciate the great work you are doing here. I have read all the posts and the very insightful replies you have given here. I am a DV2014 Selectee. I have already sent the filled out forms for myself, wife and 2 kids to KCC since May. My questions are as follows: 1. I live in Abuja with my family, can we have our medicals in Abuja before coming for the visa interview in Lagos or must the medicals be done at designated hospitals in lagos? 2. I haven't received a notification of receipt of my documents at KCC even though I have assurances that the documents have been delivered because I tracked the package sent through FedEx, do I assume everything is ok? 3. My case number is in the 76**range, when am I likely to have my interview. Looking forward to your responses. Thank you.

PoliticsRe: Ibb: Younger Generation Can’t Rule Nigeria by Malcolm28(m): 7:47am On Apr 18, 2010
The younger people of this nation need to show this man that he cannot return in 2011. How can a man make such a sweeping statement that the younger people cannot rule this nations? He has done his part as a young man in the days he ruled Nigeria and the obvious is that he failed as one of the longest serving military ruler when he had absolute powers to make Nigeria heaven on earth with the massive oil windfall when the dollar exchanges for the Naira at 4.5.  This Man needs to to be stopped by the younger generations of Nigerians period. Its time to stand up, 2011 must count! If the man thinks he can play us Nigerians in 2010 like he did some 17 yrs before, he should wake up and smell the coffee - its a brand new day!

RomanceRe: Is It Compulsory To Wash Your Husband's Clothes? by Malcolm28(m): 11:15am On Jan 04, 2010
We live in times when things have changed quite a lot. Because we r enlightened and can infer and understand things more than our fore fathers did in their time, things should naturally be a lot better.
Now in response to the topic being discussed, my answer is that there is no straight jacket approach to whether ladies should or should not wash the clothes of their husbands. This is my take: A marriage between a Man and a Woman is a commitment to serve and take care of one another. A man who truly loves his wife should not treat her as a beast of burden. On the other hand a woman who loves her husband and sees a need to help him tidy up on his laundry or other home chores is also doing something worthy of praise. I am married and do not see my wife as some house help. I also do not expect my wife to see me as some house help. We are both helping each other enjoy our lives that we are only privileged to share with one another. I am involved in the affairs of running the home as much as my wife is. I do the dishes, wash the plates, clothes (recently we bought a washing machine cos I don't believe in giving clothes to laundry men) as time permits. My work schedule is more flexible than my wife's cos I am my boss so normally I arrive home before her on most days, naturally I do the dishes on those days.
All that thinking that women should do the cooking, laundry, home making etc, are things society has foisted on us which we may need to clarify and take the ones that suit us and will help build better families. I was brought up to do things for myself and I have remained largely independent, I don't see how marriage should change that.
The bottom line is balance. If u love somebody truly, U will look out for their good. The problem is when parties is a relationship are selfish and looking only to their own gain. I have a loving relationship with my wife and I can do anything for her (cos I know am doing that for myself invariably), she also does same for me.
The real issues to note here are love, mutual respect and understanding. Do unto others as u wish they do to U. No extreme positions on this question will suffice. We need to build better families because the society is fast falling apart. Understanding between men and women is key.

I wonder if they thought the name through before STICKING IN ON. I think they may have crash landed before take off! This name does not evoke a strong brand. Eagle Air would have been most appropriate. I wish them luck.
