TV/Movies / Re: Ini Edo Produces Her 1st Film by mamazita1(f): 7:54am On Dec 08, 2009
About Ini, Im glad to see actresses taking their destiny in their own hands and producing their own movies and I think it will be better. First of all it was Desmond co-producing with 'Reloaded' and 'Guilty Pleasures'. Then there was Stephanie with 'Thru the glass', Uche Jombo with 'Nollywood Hustler', now Ini Edo! You go girl! Cant wait to watch it!
TV/Movies / Re: Ini Edo Produces Her 1st Film by mamazita1(f): 7:49am On Dec 08, 2009
Haba! Nse in every movie? Apart from 'Reloaded' (which was released last year) and 'Guilty Pleasures' which other film have you seen Nse feature in? Abeg, we want to see more of her so let her act! (Apart from that the girls's got to eat, she's an actress isnt she?)
TV/Movies / Have You Watched 'RELOADED' The Hottest Film In Town? by mamazita1(f): 12:12pm On Mar 15, 2009
Have you watched the hottest film in town 'Reloaded?' Its the bomb! Its the latest offering from Emem Isong and Desmond Elliot. Its hilarious, crazy, funny, extreme! A must watch!
Celebrities / Re: Chris Brown Arrested For Slapping/ Assaulting Rihanna! by mamazita1(f): 7:43pm On Feb 25, 2009
Chris Brown could get a 9 year jail term for what he has done which is called felony battery.  He is made criminal threats (I'm going to f***king kill you!) which is even more serious so if he likes he can listen to all the ignorant bloggers on Nairaland hailing him and telling him Rhianna is a slut who gave him STD and the picture is a photoshopped one blah blah blah.  That kid needs help. His father was abusive to his mother and it is obvoius he is yet to break the cycle. Keep hailing and protecting him because he is a fine boy that can dance as if that is an excuse to behave like a beast. He for date Ciarra, make she kick his butt with those her killer legs!

Saw the link http://uk.reuters.com/article/burningIssues/idUKTRE51D05U20090215
Well, its a good P.R move on his part. Hope it can salvage what is left of his battered 'clean boy' image but if all else fails he can always throw away the bad boy image and become a 'good boy gone bad' and learn how to rap like Lil' Jon, T.I and co!!
Celebrities / Re: Chris Brown Arrested For Slapping/ Assaulting Rihanna! by mamazita1(f): 7:13pm On Feb 15, 2009
Chris Brown is an agbaya! A very stupid boy! Why didnt he just walk away when she was annoying him? Why beat her till he draws blood? Even biting her! haba! He should know that the society he lives in does not condone this kind of thing. He needs proffessional help. Well, now he is royally f***ked because he has kissed his career goodbye. It is better to be caught with drugs or drunk driving in America but wife battery?! I cant help you o! He is strictly on his own. Now he has lost millions dollars worth of endorsements just because he couldnt be a man and walk away. As for the rest of you hailing him and saying she deserved to be beaten, shame on you!
Politics / Re: Lagos Bans Hawking By Children During School Hours by mamazita1(f): 8:28pm On Nov 23, 2008
Street hawking by children is bad! It exposes children to all sorts of vices, imagine how many children hawking pepper, tomatoes bread, pure water etc have been pregnated or raped by motorpark boys, touts etc?. The new law is good, maybe if parents know that they wont have more children than they can cater for.
Business / Re: Entire Computer Village Shut Down Over Tax by mamazita1(f): 8:15pm On Nov 23, 2008
Its a good move! Lets be real, that place was the biggest den of pirated softwares in sub-saharan Africa. they had it coming, Bob Marley said 'you can fool some people sometime but you cant fool all the people all the time'. I tell you that tax reason was just an excuse to close the place up. A cleaning up exercise is taking place in Nigeria generally. First it was pharmaceutical drugs and then food items, now computer softwares. what will be next? Ans; If you are doing the right thg and putting your house in order, you have nothing to fear.
Celebrities / Awesome Premiere Of Emem Isong's New Movie 'reloaded' by mamazita1(f): 3:46pm On Jul 22, 2008

Romance / Re: She Loves Me But She's So Ugly by mamazita1(f): 2:30pm On Jun 20, 2007
Hmmmm, interesting topic, suffice to say that no one is really truly ugly these days. Beauty can be bought in the market, a little mascara, lipstick, contact lenses and the right weave on and presto you have a beautiful person in front of you! Also money makes people beautiful. If you doubt me ask Oprah Winfrey. Not-so-pretty girls are usually smarter and have better characters than Miss Worlds coz they know they have to do extra work to keep ones attention. Fine people are usually shallow, vain, selfish and stuck up. Thats not the norm but most are like that. My observation is that you are not mature enough to appreciate love when you see it. Some people search a lifetime for what you found in your 20's. I hope you will not regret your decision when you see her in 5yrs time married and looking beautiful because she met some one that love's and appreciates her, what you could not do because you were hung on the "video-girls-shaped-like-a-cocacola-bottle" syndrome. I wish you the best.
TV/Movies / Re: Millions Of Sparks Of Jubilation As Jordin Sparks Wins 2007 American Idol by mamazita1(f): 1:29pm On May 25, 2007
People! People! People! When will you learn? sometimes the best person doesnt get the prize? Remember Jennifer Hudson? Chris Daughtry the bald guy arguably with the best voice in the last season got voted off in favour Taylor Hicks!!! (Taylor who?) And according to Clive Davis (Former CEO Arista Records, now CEO J Records) Chris Daughtry to date has most sold cd of any new artist; American Idol or main stream artist. It just goes to show you that Melinda might not be the winner but she could get have a very great music career ahead of her.
Romance / Re: Should I Give This Woman Beater A Second Chance? by mamazita1(f): 9:13pm On May 08, 2007
My dear,, RRRRRRRRRRRun like a no man's business! He is slapping you for someone calling you? Then he will KILL you for some one walking up to you to say hello! I know his type coz I was in a similar relationship for 6 months. Mine would not even let me go visiting friends without him calling me 24/7 and messing my day up, Im talking about a visit with girlfriends! It was after I left I discovered he had the signs of an abuser and possibly even killer (if you let him!) Overly-possessive, controlling, overly-hot tempered, insecure etc. Run for your life my sister! You have been warned!
TV/Movies / Jerrilyn Of West African Idols Gets Kicked Off! Whatcha Think? by mamazita1(f): 10:18pm On May 07, 2007

TV/Movies / Re: Ramsey Nouah And Emeka Enyiocha For Hollywood by mamazita1(f): 8:30pm On Mar 11, 2007
Haters! Haters! haters! why do we find it hard to appreciate what we have/ then you expect the ooyinbo man to come and appreciate you?! If Djimon Honsou, from neighbouring Benin Repupblic can make it to the point of being an Oscar nominated actor, then surely there is hope for nigeria. all we need is opportunity. Havent you noticed that Hollywood is looking into Africa now? e.g Hotel Rwanda, Blood Diamonds, Catch a Fire, Last King of Scotland etc, and Seun, there is nothing wrong with acting as an African, Africa needs representation or they wouldnt tell Forest Whitaker, Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda) to speak like Africans. Give our industry a chance!
TV/Movies / Re: Is There Any Director Of Movie In The House? I Have A Script Fully Screenplay by mamazita1(f): 7:28am On Mar 10, 2007
My advice to you is to get PART of your script (ending at a cliff-hanging part) typed and bound and try and get it across to known producers and maketers in the business not directors. producers and esp. marketers are the ones that really buy scripts. Directors just direct what they are given. Thats the home video route. For the television route, try and get across to the producers of popular tv shows like Super story, Domino, etc. and try to write for them. The money might not be much but dont be discouraged. The important thing is getting your name out there. e.g I have never seen Bolaji Dawodu before but I see his name as director of Checkmate, Fortunes and a number of other good productions. I associate his name with good jobs and if I am an investor and he wants me to sponsor his production I would be willing to do that as opposed to an unknown person even if that person is as good as Steven Spielberg. Dont give up on your dream, and dont be discouraged by nay-sayers. I wish you the best!
Career / Re: Do I Relocate Abroad Despite Having A Bright Career Here In Nigeria ? by mamazita1(f): 7:59pm On Jan 03, 2007
My brotha dont fall for the lie that most of our people are decieved by! if you have your money, naija is the best place to live in this world. its only when you dont have that its tough. Abroad is worse! I know too many talented nigerians that were working in banks and other good place that went abroad and becoz of no job started driving cabs! i know even more that have thier marriages break up becoz the husband stays here and decides to send the wife and kids, then some lady or man capitalizes on the absence of either partner and they start having affairs. if you have the money it is better to go abroad on holiday and come back. send your children to school there probably at university level (so they dont lose their identity) and invest your money here. You have been advised!

Nairaland / General / Re: Madonna And The Malawian Child: A Bad Trend by mamazita1(f): 1:24am On Oct 31, 2006
Metroman,
youre right o! I pity that boy from the bottom of my heart! they are just going to f** up his life! What is a Malawian boy going to do in the wilds of Scotland or where ever the h** Madonna lives, surrounded by people that will look and stare at him as if he is some specimen? The best thing they can do for him is to return him to his country, harsh as it seems becoz money can never make up for identity, culture, being with your people and speaking your language. believe me im talking frm personal experience. if Madonna wants to help she should provide money from him IN his country. PERIOD! Or else he is going to be another messed up, rootless, black man in the western world, not sure if he is African or Black American or West Indian! If u dont believe me, ask the Nigerians that are born abroad and have never been to Nigeria or speak their dialect.

Hey! Lighten up! this is a heathly discussion not a cussing game! Just dont rubbish the efforts of people that are going thru sorrow, tears and blood to put movies in your hands! Several e.g JT West have died doing it! You never know who is who on the internet! I aint mad with you and I sure aint going thru no hell, I have a corporate job but have several friends in the industry. OJ is a MARKETER and not just a producer and there is a big diffrence! So he would have N300mill to burn. Shd he build a movie village for the industry? I dont think so! There are some raw nerves you dont go near , its like a white prsn saying Black people are too sensitive!

Chief Orinla oops sorry! I mean Orikinla,
Im talking about NOLLYWOOD as we know it and not some colonial, celluloid set up of 1965! Ofcourse I remember Ola Balogun of the Bisi Daughter of the River fame! What we need is support and training! Have you ever witnessed a Nig. home video being shot? They come to your house and beg you to allow them shoot just "two scenes" when they really mean 3 days! They can not break anything, mess up the place smash glass like we see in foriegn movies, AND they are under pressure to hurry and leave before "oga" or "madame" gets back! How, pray tell can they do quality film under this kind of pressure. And this is so because we have no film villages or sets, no access to real police or army artillery or uniforms and the money is peanuts compared to what our Hollywood counterparts are getting! This whole Nollywood thing is a labour of love I tell you! I dont need Steven Spielberg or George Lucas to validate me coz they dont have the slightest clue what the hell Im going thru!
TV/Movies / Re: Your Nollywood Stars Don't Excite Me by mamazita1(f): 11:15am On Oct 02, 2006
You guys sit on your fat asses and talk about stuff you know absolutely nothing about! America just celebrated 100yrs of film, did you see what their first movies looked like? black and white without words!! Our film industry which is in its 13yr, evolved as a child of circumstance by pp that (agreed) didnt know exactly know what they were getting into but knew they wanted to see pp that looked like themselves, talking like themselves about issues they could identify with and not talking about "Jurassic Park", "Apollo 13" and some other out of this world topics that has nothing to do with my African experience! We havent got there yet agreed but instead of you to support the little effort they have made like typical Nigerians we are tearing them down with our mouths. Sure Hollywood hasnt come calling but who needs Hollywood to validate me when I am serving a need and a different market here in Africa? Hollywood can never tell the Ibo man's story like the Ibo man or the Niger-Deltans story like the Niger-Deltan! Nicole Kidman or even Halle Berry can never act or look like my sister or shout 'eiwo!" the way only an African can shout! Nollywood employs at any given time at least 200,000 Nigerians that would have been thieves, streetwalkers or retirees if some one (Kenneth Nnebue) had not had the vision to produce a movie called Living in Bondage. Please give Nollywood a chance!
