PoliticsRe: Bailouts Reveal Precarious Finances Of Nigerian States by mandax: 1:10pm On Apr 25, 2016
But no body, except a military government can merge the states.

When 20 states and Abuja were created in once one northern Nigeria federating unit, but 17 in the two southern federating units, that was when the problem started.

For now, not even in the NASS can the non viable states get merged, because the north which draws more reps to the NASS can't allow political restructuring. And the north draws more of national development resources through the large number of states.

No true federal country created new federating units from the old ones through use of land mass as criterion, as was done in creating states in Nigeria by northern military generals.

Why was Buhari rejected three times if he was the most popular politician in Nigeria?

Doyin Okupe hardly campaigned for Jonathan for re-election. Doyin Okupe was cowed.

But Buhari was only popular in his north among his talakawas.

Any Igbo who doesn't want Igboland pulled out of Nigeria must not cry or wail over the menace of Fulani cattle - there are still many ignoramuses in Igboland.

Any Igbo that has the head can do the Maths; answer why Nigeria must remain an estate of Fulani - so long as the present 36 states political structure with 20 states in the north remains.

More important: Zahra and her siblings can study abroad with FOREX bought in Nigeria, according to Zahra's father, President Buhari.

But Nigerian students abroad whose parents can't buy FOREX? Perhaps they must abandon college in foreign countries and return home.

Those preparing to take over Aso Rock from Buhari may have to wait for donkey years. In the present rigged 36 states political structure which has 20 states in the north, if Buhari is leaving any time, northern politicians shall spring up another northerner to replace Buhari. All they need is use oyel money and buy a few politicians from the south. The system shall continue for a long time to come.

But Mandax what really is Okorocha's grouse with Orlu, because from the last count, Rochas won virtually all the LGA's in the zone. I'm trying to understand Rochas anger with Orlu? Did he lose Orlu municipal to Ihedioha's PDP? Did few people offend him there? Because nothing meaningful is happening in Orlu compared to Owerri zone.
Rochas is an Orlu man and cannot say he doesn't know that the zone is deficient when it comes to capital project. I.e the Orlu regional water scheme, government owned university campus and others. Even the Orlu city link road he set out to accomplish in his first term has been completely abandoned, except for the recent pix of the Umunna section posted by Abagworo.
I love the transformation of Ala Owerri, yet as an Orlu son, am really not happy with the state of Orlu under Okorocha's second tenure.
In bold.

Rochas invented whatever anger he has against Orlu. It is his way of saving money.

Orlu Municipal gave him more than 30,000 votes in 2011, the highest number of votes compared to that from any other LGA.

He enlarged three to four streets about - 5km total - in Orlu and scrapped more which were abandoned till today.

Fears that if he was voted out from second term, the roads he scrapped might not be completed made Orlu Municipal vote massively for Okorocha for second term. He won Ihedioha here.

Did he purposely scrap the roads since 2012 and dismantled the stadium - people now ask?

It's difficult to believe that a state governor can be this petty.

People expected Imo govt to duplicate faculties of IMSU somewhere in Orlu area.

But Rochas Okorocha having his private university in Ogboko - private university that hardly makes any impact in the area where it is located. That's what Rochas Okorocha has been governor under the name of Orlu zone for.

Meanwhile, people from 12 LGas in Orlu zone have to continue to pay taxes to sustain five federal and state universities and Polys in Owerri and now in Mbaise, and remain pilgrims in Owerri and now Mbaise for university education in govt institutions that are usually subsidized by govt.

Even if by accident, the federal govt proposes another university for Imo state today, Rochas Okorocha shall struggle to see that the new institution is not located anywhere near Orlu, because he fears it may compete against his private university. But truth is that there can hardly be any such competition.

This is Otamiri Water Scheme in Owerri. A similar water scheme was proposed at the same time for Orlu area. It was to source water from Urashi or Njaba Rivers.

IMSG spent billions of Naira in either of these water schemes in Okigwe and Owerri.

Old Owerri Road Orlu shown below was scrapped since 2012. It has close to a hundred thousand population living on both sides up to Umuowa to Y-Junction.

There are many other roads like it in Orlu scrapped with red dust poured upon them. People here inhale dust in the last four years. All pleas to Gov. Okorocha to fill the roads with asphalt before people develop lung diseases have fallen on deaf ears. Some evil people instead praise Okorocha for building flyovers and now dig road tunnel in Owerri.

PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by mandax: 6:35am On Apr 25, 2016
This is the only road to IMSUTH - the only state or federal government presence in Orlu, the only institution that can bring a few Naira into Orlu.

This road has remained like this since Rochas Okorocha became governor of Imo state. All pleas to Okorocha, all demonstrations by students before Okorocha, to repair the road remain fruitless; meanwhile Rochas Okorocha the governor takes all the joy and praises of evil people as he builds road tunnel in Owerri where no hills exist.

PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by mandax:
Below is a hole Okorocha dug in the centre of Orlu to collect flood ... Is it not a form of punishment? No governor would do this type of hole, even inside a village where no body lives.. and Gov. Okorocha builds road tunnels and flyovers in Owerri, urban drainage systems and road bypasses in Owerri.

Instead of the hole in Orlu centre, all that was needed was a gutter of about 800 meters long from St Joseph's Church to a nearby valley. Former govt's of Imo state had started this gutter.

This hole is near to Joseph's Church shown below. The Church looks sinking. Every well-meaning person from Imo state, including the clergy from Owerri have pleaded to Okorocha to stave off possible danger in the church collapsing with worshipers in it.

But no way. Rochas Okorocha believes he is at war against Orlu people.

Twice, including that of last month, Orlu traditional leaders and political leaders set aside anger from this stadium which Rochas Okorocha dismantled immediately he became governor and invited him for a peace meeting under a canopy inside the stadium..

Twice Okorocha refused to come. In one occasion, hoodlums were sent to destroy the canopies mounted by the traditional rulers and politicians from Orlu for the meet.

Tell, whoever dismantles a sports stadium built by a reputable construction firm, without any cogent reasons? In the last five years Okorocha has been in office, no sports stadium here, youths in Orlu have had no organized sports.

Okorocha, Orlu Royal Fathers Clash

Onwukwe Kelechi - Mar 31, 2016

Okorocha, Orlu Royal Fathers Clash.

The saying that a second cut is not a happen stance, but an enemy’s action may not be wrong if submissions by Orlu council of Ndi-Eze is anything to go by.
Easter Monday, the 28th March 2016, at the Sam Okwaraji township stadium Orlu, no fewer than a hundred and fifty (150) Imo royal fathers gathered at the instance of Orlu Council of traditional rulers led by HRH Eze (Dr.) E.C Okeke, Ezeudo II of Amaifeke, Orlu with Eze (Dr.) Thomas Obiefule of Umudioka; HRH Eze (Barr) C.J Okwara the EshI II of Nkwerre land and many other notable traditional rulers, such as Chidume Okoro of Owerri zone and Ohanwe, while Eze .B. Osuala of Isunjaba was the planning committee chairman, Eze Joel Udenkwo (Udekings) was chairman works committee.

It was a well planned programme by Orlu leaders and their royal fathers who felt concerned by the alleged cat and dog relationships existing between their son, Owelle Rochas Okorocha- executive governor of Imo State with other political leaders of Orlu extraction.
According to an insider, the peace accord arranged to take place at CAMP Sam Okwaraji became paramount with feelers that two notable giants from Orlu zone are warming up for positions that would set fire, and confusion in their zone and the state at large.
Hence the royal fathers realized an Igbo adage says that an Elder or King cannot seat aloof or indoors and allow a goat give birth while under chains or rope.
The urge for a united and progressive society undoubtedly has led the royal fathers of Orlu zone into a collision, with the Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
One Orlu royal father expressed sadness that arrangements were concluded as the Imo governor gave his approval for them to make peace between him and Senator Hope Uzodinma, only for the governor to back out at the last minute.
He said, the governor who was being expected made the organizers delay for more than 2 hours while they waited for signal only to be told that he was not coming.
Trouble started when Senator Hope Uzodinma arrived the venue with his wife and some other political leaders like Hon. Jerry Alagbaoso (Asiwaju) Rt, Hon. Goodluck .N. Opiah of the Fed. House of Reps. Dr. Mike Okiro- former Inspector-general of police, now Chairman Police Service Commission etc.
As the chairman of the occasion, Prof Chigozie Asiabaka took the microphone and handed over the Kolanut to Senator Uzodinma who did not waste time to charge the royal fathers to rise up to their responsibilities and condemn any leader that has not done well.
He observed that hunger and poor virtue has ravaged Imo, hence he pleaded with them to reject such people whenever they come again; the ovation generated did not go down when the chairman took the microphone again to inform the audience that the Senator was billed for another function that almost everybody at the venue started leaving the arena.
It would be recalled that sometime ago, during the 1st term of Owelle Okorocha as Imo governor, a similar ceremony was put together by Orlu royal fathers at same venue.
But was rebuffed by people suspected to have been sent by the governor.
In that case, canopies were set ablaze where the royal fathers wanted to honour Senator Hope Uzodinma with a general chieftaincy title.
Some analysts are of the opinion that the cause of this brouhaha is 2019 gubernatorial interest of Senator Uzodinma and senatorial ambition of governor Rochas Okorocha who is poised to whittle down the overriding political sagacity of the Senator.
Already some members of the APC in Oru-East, Senator Uzodinma's local government allegedly accused the Imo State governor Owelle Rochas of stricking a deal with the Senator to sacrifice the cancelled Imo House of Assembly seat, being occupied by Ikenna Nzeruo of APC to PDP candidate in the INEC scheduled re-run elections. Others in attendance included- Uche Best Mbanaso, Hon. Marcel Odunze, Hon. Uche Agabige, Barr. Dom Onuigwe, Henry Ezediaro, T.C Chairman of Orlu L.G.A, Barr (Mrs.) Ijeoma Igboanusi; Chief Bon. Ojinaka, and Barr. (Chief) Ruben Okoro-BOT Chairman of Orluzurumee and many others.

How can a state governor inflict punishment upon people in an area he governs because of his differences with a few persons from the area?

Gov. Okorocha has bad blood against nearly everybody from Orlu area. I am not the only person from Orlu.

Some of us want the Okorocha man to make peace, make hay while the sun shines.

From the day his group entered APGA in 2011, many of us now his critics have been on Okorocha's side.

Even if Okorocha makes Owerri a New York by 2019, and marginalizes Orlu as he is doing.... no political leader who does that gets away with it alas.

Buhari promised to return fiscal federalism to Nigeria.

APC has return to fiscal federalism in its manifesto.

The militants are fighting for return of 'Fiscal federalism.

Instead of restoring fiscal federalism which Buhari promised, Buhari resorts to military force to retain a failed unitary government system.

Every new day, APC exposes its leaders as most dishonest people who came together for the purposes of grabbing power to share profitable positions among the leaders, not anything for the good of the masses and for Nigeria.
