You get mouth to talk. Go to Okigwe or Orlu, you go cry, you go weep. Roads that were once motorable, including those leading to secondary schools and hospitals were scrapped since 2011; and abandoned - non motorable since then. |

And then? Must we copy fighters in other parliaments? It's like the tricky excuse in Nigeria that terrorism is a global phenomenon, while we know that Nigeria's own terrorism is locally made by our own people. GEJ as president used to tell the foolish excuse of terrorism is a global thing, instead of focusing on the causes of Nigeria's own terrorism. He paid for that distortion of truth by losing his office in a general election. No body wants weak leaders who can't confront the truth as they are. |

So let him go and let Buhari, Oyegun, Tinubu, etc, meet and choose who heads the Senate and HoR. Dictatorship ahoy. With Enweremadu shelved either by impeachment or resignation, the National Assembly shall therefore become a rubber stamp of the executive and the ruling party officers. Dictatorship for PMB, and that's what the man must like. Imagine a US president or party leaders appointing US Congress officials. Never gonna happen. |

Lol, now that Saraki is questioning the very democratic process that brought him to office - which also brought Ekweremadu to office - the era of Saraki and Ekweremadu as Senate president and Deputy Senate president respectively is coming to an end. |

Gov. Okorocha spreads poverty and gives injustice to people in his Orlu senatorial district, by under-developing the place. He angrily scrapped many roads in Orlu and left them in the last four years. He denied the area pipe borne water when it is their turn. He bulldozed their just completed sports stadium; with no stadium, youth organized sporting activities disactivated in the area since he came to office. Traders and artisans are leaving the area, no economic activities. Only Okorocha can explain what offences people from that part of Imo state comitted against him. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

It is the vindictive nature of the steerers of APC that still makes the case for Fayose's impeachment. Left for the people of Ekiti state, they would have left the sleeping dog lie - they would have ignored whatever it was that transpired before - so long as it was not embezzlement of the state's money. Then wait for Fayose next election. But Fayose was believed by APC steerers to have insulted Buhari - therefore Fayose for them must not be pardoned. |

Education - mass education in any area is the beginning of industrialization and development. Day One after Rochas Okorocha was sworn in as governor, people of Orlu zone trooped to him and requested for a government university in Orlu zone. Four years after, nothing from Okorocha. If an average civil servant from Owerri can train four people in tertiary education because they all go to class from home, eat from home, trek or cycle to class from home; an Orlu zone civil servant of similar grade may only be able to train just one person in tertiary institution, because the person has to pay for lodging, food and transport etc. elsewhere outside home. Okorocha is from Orlu zone and loves his zone  ; a woman - a woman - from Owerri zone must have hugely influenced this conversion of AIFCE to a university. 1 Like |

The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday approved the conversion of four federal colleges of education to universities. The decision was taken at a meeting of the council, presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan. Minister of Information, Patricia Akwashiki, and Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau, briefed State House correspondents of the meeting’s outcome. Shekarau listed the affected colleges of education as Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo (now Adeyemi University of Education, Ondo); Federal College of Education, Zaria (now Federal University of Education, Zaria); Federal College of Education, Kano (now Federal University of Education, Kano);and Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Owerri (now Alvan Ikoku University of Education, Owerri). The minister explained that the colleges of education were part of the 21 federal colleges of education that had been awarding degree programmes in the last three decades under the close supervision of the different universities they are affiliated to. He said the council considered the need for further quality in teaching service, hence the conversion of the colleges to universities since more graduates would be needed in the teaching profession. “We are heading to having more graduates in the teaching profession and hence the need for these universities to produce graduates in education. If we need quality education, we need quality teachers,” he said. Shekarau explained that the next step was for the Ministry of Justice to prepare amendment to the laws establishing the colleges. This, he explained, would be followed by some administrative changes. The minister added that the council had approved the establishment of the Federal University of Health Sciences in Otukpo, Benue State. Until the approval, the university was said to be the College of Medical Health Sciences under the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
