The bolded sounds hypocritical. Don't get me wrong though. Because you don't seem to realize that you're not solving any problem, simply morphing it. I am from a minority tribe in the SS - Delta state to be precise, and I'll rather remain in Nigeria fighting for resource control within the current system than advocating for a change in system, or even secession.
@Williamso, To get resource control in Nigeria, you , your future generations shall be fighting but can never get it on one Nigeria.

Any way, you are not likely to come from either the SS OR SE. But if by any chance you are from SS or SE, you need political education.

According to 2012 United States factsheet, Nigeria has 250 ethnic groups. The most populous and politically influential include: Hausa and Fulani 29%, Yoruba 21%, Igbo (Ibo) 18%, Ijaw 10%, Kanuri 4%, Ibibio 3.5%, Tiv 2.5%. https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ni.html
Looking at the Nigeria political structure especially that of the legislative arm (House of Representatives and Senate), I can't help but question the motive for the numerical advantage in favour of the combined North, and disadvantage in the side of the SS/SE. The whole South East was allocated just 43 Seats in the House of Representative despite that fact that the Igbo ethnic group that dominated the SE is one of the three largest ethnic groups in Nigeria. Whereas North West alone has 92 Seats and South West 71 Seats. Please read below and do comparison with multi-ethnic countries like Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Kosovo (below)

Nigeria
Federal House of Representative (360 Seats)
North-West: Kaduna (16), Kebbi [8], Zamfara (7) , Sokoto (11), Kano (24), Jigawa (11) and Katsina State (15).
Total: 92
North-East: Taraba (6), Borno (10), Bauchi (12), Adamawa [8], Gombe (6) and Yobe State (6).
Total: 48
North Central: Kogi (9), Niger (10), Benue (11), Kwara (6), Plateau [8], Nassarawa (5) + FCT -2
Total: 49 + 2 =51
South-West: Oyo (14), Ogun (9), Lagos (24), Ekiti(6), Ondo (9) and Osun State (9).
Total:71
South-Easts: Ebonyi (6) Enugu [8], Imo (10), Abia [8] and Anambra State (11).
Total: 43
South-South: Akwa-Ibom (10), Bayelsa (5), Edo (9), Cross River [8], Rivers (13) and Delta State (10).
Total: 55

NW + NE= 140 Seats
NW + NE + NC = 191 Seats
SW (alone) = 71 Seats
SS + SE= 98 Seats

Senate (109 Seats)

North West: 3x7 = 21 Seats, North East: 3x6 = 18 Seats, North Central + FCT: (3x6) + 1= 19 Seats
Total North= 58

South South: 3x6 = 18 and South East: 3x5 = 15
Total SE/SS = 33

South West: 3x6 = 18,

Comparing Nigeria's Situation With Bosnia and Kosovo

1. Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina is home to three ethnic "constituent peoples": Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats. Ethnically, according to data from 2000 cited by the Central Intelligence Agency, Bosniaks constitute 48% of the population, Serbs 37.1%, Croats 14.3%, and others form 0.6%.

House of People (Senate) With 15 Seats
Bosniaks: 5 Seats
Croats: 5 Seats
Serbs: 5 Seats

House of Representative With 42 Seats
Bosniaks: 14
Croats: 14
Serbs: 14
https://www.parlament.ba/default.aspx?langTag=en-US&pril=b
Despite having a whopping 48%, the Bosniaks for the sake of Political Justice and Equity agreed with the Serb (37%) and the Croats (17%) to share every seat in both parliament equally. This is equity and justice!

2. Republic of KOSOVO
Kosovo is an European state with Albanian majority. According to Records, Ethnic Albanians forms 88% of the population, Serbs 7%, other 5% (Bosniak, Gorani, Roma, Turk, Ashkali, Egyptian, Janjevci – Croats) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosovo#Demographics

Assembly of Kosovo
The Kosovo Assembly has 120 Members, to recognise the 12% minorities, the country reserved 20 Seats (ie 24%) for the Minorities while the rest 100 can be contested for by anybody. Of the 20 Specially reserved seats, 10 is for Serbs (despite having just 7% of the population), 4 seats for the representatives of the Romani, Ashkali and Egyptians. 3 seats for the Bosniaks, 2 seats for the Turks and 1 seat for the Gorans. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assembly_of_Kosovo

This is a country that the 88% Albanian Majority respect/recognize the right of the 12% ethnic Minorities that it specially reserved 20 Seats for the Minorities.

Equity Or Inequality?
Should we continue to deceive ourselves by holding the opinion that the Nigeria situation is "equity"? Won't it be justified to call for an overhaul of the system and institute a structure that could be deemed and justified in any sane clime if we are to move forward as a people in this arrangement called Nigeria? I believe that a call to address this lopsided "allocation" will be a patriotic one.

Source: http://solomontonye..com/2015/04/the-political-inequality-in-nigeria.html
People in south of Nigeria have been taken to be mugus. They have been holding like a Bible or Quaran a 36 states+Abuja political structure created by northern soldiers to make southerners become followers of what north dictates in Nigeria.

In the 36 states+Abuja political structure, 19 states and Abuja were proliferated in the one time one northern region, but in one time three southern regions, only17 states were created.

But land mass or population is never used in any federal country to create new federating units, except in Nigeria. New federating units are supposed to have emerged as equal multiples of the federating units that existed when new ones started to be created.

Soldiers in the US cannot just rise and divide large states like California or Texas into many more states to get more revenues to California or Texas areas as well as have more legislators for the areas in the US Congress.

Three Senators are derived flat from every Nigerian state, one from Abuja. Therefore in the National Assembly, old northern Nigeria is overwhelmingly over-represented in the National Assembly.
To amend the 1999 constitution also supervised by northern soldiers, all the 36 states Houses of Assembly must have an input. In other words, the 1999 constitution can only be amended when the amendment is pleasing northern political desires. But this is a country of northern and southern Nigeria when amalgamated by the British in 1999. The 36 states+Abuja political structure made south of Nigeria a semi-colony of the north and through which northerners can use their over-reprentation in all aspects of the polity to manipulate the south at will to get whatever north wants done on Nigeria's political terrain.

Obasanjo started reforms of the polity and political restructuring of this lopsided political structure through his National Political Reforms Conference, but third term ambition ended it.

No body could expect late Yar'Adua to embark on political reforms and restructuring. The political system and bad structure make his north take home most of the country's revenues and make final decisions on political development as well as who must be president of Nigeria.

GEJ is not believed to have a clear understanding of the fact that Nigeria's political system and structure were made by undemocratic means, therefore needed remaking by a democratic means. At last when it was too late, GEJ inaugurated a CONFAB for political reforms and restructuring. The CONFAB carried our political reforms and above all, restrured the polity such that if the restructuring is implemented, it shall diminish the inequality in political representation between the north and south of Nigeria.

One can still remember Jonathan last February begging people in Lagos to vote him so as to have the next National Assembly implement the resolution of the CONFAB, because according to GEJ, the outgoing NASS is hostile to the CONFAB.
The rest is history.

So GMB is the commander-in-chief?

You may have your sentiments about who you think is the better leader but it doesn't entitle you to silly statements.

There's a thing called sustainable development, not really a complex concept to understand.

You cannot continue to payout 'subsidies' at the levels we have had to over the years - please see PwC report.

Some would argue but ''Jonathan attempted to remove subsidies ''. My response to that is: he was a lilly-livered leader who could not stand by what he knew to be right all for the sake of wanting to be in power.

The refineries have not been fixed and fictitious sums have been spent on products never imported or delivered. Yet, you would prefer to blame the man who hasn't even been sworn into office.

I know your type: since Jonathan was voted out you would do anything to make sure the next president fails.

Endure the next couple of days, maybe months.

A situation is being inherited but it would be overcome. I know this because there are technocrats and visionaries on the stable of the new president. There is also a honset commitment for a change of debilitating policies.

It would do you well to join in to make things better, rather than throw insults at one who hasn't even worn his gloves for the fight.[/b]
Before Baba election victory, it was rare seeing soldiers' maltreatment of civilians in that style as shone yesterday in the petrol station.

Take it or leave it, you voted and brought back to rule you a soldier who ruled after soldiers used force to down a democratically-elected government. So don't blame the soldiers if they take the stance of being a most superior set in Nigeria. Don't blame Nigeria soldiers if tomorrow they organize and down a civilian government.

Simply put, after Baba's election victory, soldiers may have resorted to their old belief that they are the most superior set in Nigeria.

Whatever steps a government used in about five Years to stop harsh scarcity of engine fuel which for decades frequently arrested movement in Nigeria, the government needed to be applauded.

After our notorious religious violence, wonder how many TRUE experts from the West can venture into Nigeria for refinery works.

Not wishing Baba bad, but one thing is certain, irrespective of the experts Baba must be constrained to employ to govern Nigeria, the buck must stop at Baba's table; but how many months or years of further schooling had Baba put in since the last time he was HoS?

Please stop being insulting or don't reply me again.

Nigerians are the most ungreatfull humans ever present on earth, a govt took the pains to try dismantling the cabals that held Nigerians to ransom for years with 6 months intervals of compensatory scarcity to oil marketers to quiet them from the steady loot that was going on in the industry,
GEj took the painful decision of turning from this cabal whose back he rode to power against all odds by attempting subsidy removal, ie let the market be competitive n people patronize the cheapest,
the cabals got angry we didn't support him, he retraced his steps,
even at that keep the country wet with fuel for more than 3years although not at very friendly prices, ask yourself, since march 2011 till February 2015 when was the last time you had to bribe an attendant to get a litre of fuel,

OBJ was minister of petrol himself in his regime but scarcity was every 6-7months

when GEJ needed us the masses whom he worked for, we joined the cabal who held us to ransom for years to castigate him.
l
Fuel scarcity is a greatest curse to any country and can ruin the country's economy and its people in a very short period.

Jonathan dismantled the fuel scarcity cabals in Nigeria; cabals which for decades ruined business in Nigeria, arrested development in Nigeria.

At one point during the cabal-made fuel scarcity, rich Nigerians started building petrol depots in their compoounds. That stopped when Jonathan drove away the cabals from business.

But Nigerians rewarded Jonathan with calling him clueless, ogogoro drinker, made caricatures of Jonathan sailing home to Otuoke on a dingy boat, after a political routing in Abuja.
And if Jonathan was not too good, who did Nigerians replace Jonathan with? Buhari huh huh huh huh huh

GEJ is busy preparing handover notes. You still de blame Jonathan.

During the last time Baba was HoS, we had to queue for hours before we got items as common as sugar, tea, rice, etc. They were rationed to us as essential commodities by koboko-wielding soldiers, as we stood for up to 10 hours sometimes under rain and sun.

Since then, Baba never attend any school to better his knowledge about governing a country.

Did you not see the ugly treatment soldiers gave to civilians in the filling station yesterday? Before Baba won, soldiers no de display such harsh mannerism. Continue to blame Jonah.

When you were shouting Sai Baba, and people were telling you that you want change from fry pan to fire, hate for Jonathan and his people no allow you think.
Next time, a soldier can overthrow a civilian government, then after running military dictatorship, that soldier comes back to you and ask you to vote him president, why can't you vote the ex-dictator and he becomes president?

Last presidential election, you people gave serving soldiers a license to organize military coup d'etat.

Yes i called it hell because it was a very big battle ground as every buyer fought to get served... Hundreds of buyers were beaten for misbehaving by the MOPOL and SOLDIERS in charge...

I recorded over 28 fight videos but too bad i can't upload them here... Even the MOPOLs fought With Soldiers... It was fun as i 'gisted' political issues with many people and scoped the beautiful ladies on the queue.... To see how bad we Nigerians are, the branch manager was beaten by a soldier for filling four 50 litres kegs of petrol and kept in his office to sell for those interested in black market....
In the last 5 years, this ugly experience of Fuel Scarcity became forgotten, a thing of the past.
From the look of things, may be, this is just the beginning.

for those of us that can't distinguish which way leads to which as at now, I want to ask this:

Is Abia state (Umuahia) after Imo state (Nkwerre) or before?

Which of the destinations is most plied?
Considering someone is coming from the SW
From SW, you arrive Nkwerre (Imo state) before you arrive Umuahia (Abia state).

Most plied?
It depends on who is going where and from which departing point in the SW.

But going from the SW to Umudi nysc camp, and you have no time to waste, tight finance, the easiest route well plied is:

from anywhere in the SW, go to Benin to Onitsha to Orlu. Most luxury buses end at Orlu, unless any very unusual occasion of any bus going to Umuahia through Orlu-Nkwerre.

At Orlu, take taxi to Nkwerre N60; from Nkwerre trek (or keke with N50) to nysc camp at Umudi.
