Religion / Controversial: Pastor Feeds His Church Members Millipede And Beer (photos) by Maniagist: 5:05pm On Nov 13, 2019
Controversial South African pastor, Lesego Daniel is in the news all over again for feeding his house of worship members with millipede and beer.

Photos from the “mass feeding” programme was shared on his church’s Facebook page. The bizzare act was backed by claims of God giving man everything that lives on earth as food and asking him not to discriminate.

A statement from the “Truly this scripture was fulfilled in Rabboni centre ministries today as our father has been teaching us that anything can be declared to be the body and the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, we don’t discriminate because God gave to us everything that lives and moves about the earth to be food, just as He has given us green plants for food.

He said to Noah in genesis 9 that I now give you everything for food to eat and today we are beating the shadows to reveal those who dwell in the shadow of the almighty as we are revealing the ones who belong to the light.

So sons of glory cannot be judged by what they eat or drink or with regard to religious festivals because these things were a shadow of what was to come, so the reality has come and this reality is found in the body of Christ.

Creation continues to be joyful in Rabboni centre ministries because it has been subjected to frustration, not by its own choice but by the will of Him who subjected it, in hope that it will be liberated when the sons of glory are revealed.

Creation wait no more, whatever we touch is blessed, whether it’s chicken, millipede, boerewors, waffles, etc., we sanctify and consecrate it by the word of God and prayer and we declare it to be the body and the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is how we call our Lord Jesus Christ affectionately into remembrance and many sons and daughters partook from his body with joy as they have been enlightened by the word of truth.”

Crime / Angry Mobs Burns Two Suspected Arm Robbers To Death In Delta by Maniagist: 11:52am On Nov 11, 2019
An angry mob burned at the stake two alleged armed robbers close to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, DSC, Delta State’s Udu Local Government Area.

It was reported that the incident occurred on Sunday morning, November 10 during church service.

The deceased suspects had come into the area fully armed with a motorcycle and robbed an unidentified lady on her way to church,

The lady was allegedly dispossessed of her mobile phone and other personal effects including an unspecified amount of money.

Luck, however, ran out on the suspects when an unidentified man raised alarm as he was about to be robbed with an empty gun.

The alarm was said to have attracted a mob, who chased down the criminals, apprehended and beat them to death, before the arrival of Policemen from Ovwian/Aladja Division.

Police Commissioner of the Delta State, CP Adeyinka Adeleke, who revealed the scandal with our correspondent in a telephone conversation, said the suspects were burned at the stake and not set aside as alleged.

Celebrities / I Regret Marrying Old Man, I Pity Regina Daniels "Actress Timmy K Macnicol" by Maniagist: 2:54pm On Nov 09, 2019
UK based Nollywood actress cum producer, Timmy K MacNicol has opened up on her regrets on marrying an old man and hopes Regina Daniels does not face same fate.

Speaking with Pearlnews in a new interview, Timmy talked about the abuse she had to face for years and how old rich men use their affluence to trap young women.

Some day, I want to reach out to people like me. Ladies who go into prostitution because they are orphans. People who steal because they are orphaned. My story is a bitter one.

I pray God gives me the chance and keep me alive to talk about it, so I can inspire and warn others too. From the age of 9, till now, I have been struggling. I want my voice to be heard. I want to tell my story to every one out there.

My marriage became an abuse for years. I also went into depression and was rushed to the hospital,” she recalled.

She continued,

I don’t think I want to give marriage another chance, because my marriage experience is very bitter. I have been abused and I kept enduring. I want to move on with my career for now, but you never can tell. I might fall in love.

And if I would eventually get married again, it would be a man within my age bracket, not an old man, like I did before. Not marry an old man because of money. I married a grandfather.

Talking about Regina Daniels, I was same age when I got married to an old man (my ex).
I don’t think her mother, Rita Daniels influenced her decision. The person that should be blamed is the manipulative husband because this is exactly what happened to me.

Old men are always using money and affluence to manipulate young girls and they fall for it. I was a victim too.

Regina fell for the money, I was an orphan and I feel for an old man because of his wealth and affluence. I am still stuck in this, because its hard to pull out.

Family / Wife Of Policeman Killed In Balogun Market Fire Cries Out "I’m Afraid For Our C by Maniagist: 7:00am On Nov 09, 2019
Wife of policeman killed in Balogun Market fire voice out "I’m afraid for our children’s future"

Rose Dominic, the wife of the late policeman who died in the Balogun Market fire, says she is at a crossroads following the death of the family’s breadwinner.

The mother of four was awaiting the arrival of her husband, Sergeant Michael Dominic, from work on Wednesday when she was jolted by a phone call announcing the death of the 44-year-old cop

Michael, attached to the Ebute-Ero Police Station, was on duty at the scene of the fire which gutted Brasas Fabrics in Balogun Market, Lagos Island.

It was learnt that the native of Ekwureku in the Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State was chasing people away from the disaster spot when a concrete which suddenly fell from the fire-ridden building crushed him to death.

He is survived by four children – Mary, 10; Emmanuel, eight; Samuel, five and two-year-old Nathaniel – and aged parents.

Our correspondent gathered that Dominic had returned to the station around 8pm on Tuesday from a duty when he was told that the market was on fire.

He reportedly rushed to join a team of policemen deployed in the scene and tragedy struck 30 minutes into his arrival. Goods, largely fabrics, worth millions of naira were trapped in the fire which raged for two days.

Amidst tears, the deceased’s wife, Rose, told City Round that the family and her in-laws lived on Michael’s salary, lamenting that his death spelled doom for the entire family.

The scene of fire at Balogun Market

She stated, “We have been married for 11 years and we have four children together. The first child is about to start secondary school; the second is in primary three, the third one is in Nursery 2 while the last child is in crèche. What will I tell Samuel who really loves his father? He was the breadwinner of the family and he was the one taking care of his parents being the first child. Everybody depended on him. I don’t know where to start from; I am confused.

He left for work on Tuesday morning and was supposed to come back on Wednesday evening. It was this afternoon (Wednesday afternoon) that someone called me and told me he was dead.”

Recalling their last words, Rose said her husband while leaving for work on Tuesday morning appealed to her to endure the trying time the family was going through and promised her a surprise next year if he was promoted.

I want the government to help me with my children’s education. I don’t have any means; I depended on my husband alone. I don’t know how their future will look like without their father.

I don’t know what to do. I don’t know if I can survive without my husband; even the children’s school fees, we have not paid it,” she remarked tearfully.

He had a plot of land that he wanted to develop. He told me he would soon start building it. My husband was a good man. He was a man of God and he lived a true Christian life. He promised to get a shop for me,” she added before emotions betrayed her again.

The deceased’s uncle, Sunday Ideba, said he was in his shop in Lekki when someone broke the death of his nephew to him on the phone. “I was confused. I just rushed down,” he said.

Recounting the career of the late officer and their last moment, Ideba said it was unfortunate that Michael did not live to bury his aged parents.

He stated, “He joined the police in 2003/2004 and served at the Maroko Police Station for years. He was posted to the North sometime ago in the heat of the Boko Haram attacks. He would call and ask me to pray for him. He spent about three years there before he was posted to Port Harcourt (Rivers State). It was from there he was redeployed in Lagos two months ago.

The person we expected would die is his grandfather, who is over 90 years old and could not walk again. He was the first son of the family and they depended on him. His mother is also old.

Last Thursday, we still discussed about the health of his father. He told me that it was only me and a relation, Austin, he relied on to support him in burying his father. I told him to pray that whenever the father died, we should have means to give him a befitting burial. Who will bury the father now? His death is still like a dream to me.

The uncle appealed to the police authorities and the Lagos State Goivernor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to assist in the upkeep of the wife and the four children.

This man died in the line of duty. He died while trying to save people from the danger zone. The children are in school; there is no one to sponsor them again,” he added before bursting into tears.

Meanwhile, traders whose goods were destroyed in the razed complex, are still counting their losses.

Some of them approached by our correspondent declined comment, saying they had yet to recover from the shock of the loss.

One of them, Abdulraheem Raji, whose boutique got burnt in the inferno, said he was too devastated to talk. He looked on as remnant of the fire smouldered from the rubble.

His brother, Abdulrahman, who lamented that goods worth about N10m were lost in the fire, blamed the incident on lack of safety measures at the market.

He said, “We were only able to remove few of his goods. We had to run away for our lives. The owner of the building was using all the floors except the ground floor which she rented out. About 20 shops and a church were on the ground floor. This was not the first time the complex would be on fire. It happened in 2017.

The government should be checking buildings like this in the market regularly to see if first aid safety equipment is put in place. They should check if they have a fire extinguisher and if it’s not expired. There was a fire extinguisher in the building but was it functioning? If there was a good fire extinguisher, it would have helped in putting out the fire before it escalated.

The security man in charge of the five-storey building, Idris Ibrahim, said he got a call two hours after he got home that day from his duty post.

I didn’t know when the fire started. I left the market around 8am. I was surprised when they called me that the complex was on fire. By the time I got here, the fire was much. It was unfortunate. I don’t know how to cope for now. The little amount I collect every month is what I use to cater for myself and family,” he bemoaned.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business District, Mr Olanrewaju Elegushi, said it was rather pathetic that Dominic paid the supreme price.

The building collapsed after long hours of burning and part of the debris hit the policeman, Sergeant Michael Dominic, who was trying to send people away from the scene. He died in the process.

The cause of the fire is not yet confirmed; we are just getting different stories from different quarters. Some people said it was a generator explosion; some said it was as a result of exposed wire. We will get in touch with the owner of the property. I believe the owner would be able to tell us what caused the fire.

The Area A Commander, who oversees the police stations on Lagos Island, ACP Bode Ojajuni, said 12 hoodlums who took advantage of the incident to steal, had been arrested.

Yahaya Usman, popularly called Yahaya Makaho, a blind singer who rose from being a street beggar to a famously known singer in northern Nigeria, spends time with some of his fans while wearing his trademark sunglasses in Kaduna, Nigeria, on September 25, 2019.

The singer has carved out a niche by focusing on the pressing problems that confront his fans in their daily lives. With his soft voice he croons his way through lyrics that tackle ills such as begging, drug abuse and corruption.

Dwelling on sensitive subjects has proved problematic on occasion.

Makaho upset some in northern Nigeria's blind community after he wrote two singles that criticised the widespread practice of street begging -- often the only means of earning an income for the visually impaired.

Makaho managed to resolve the conflict and has now established an foundation that provides school tuition, uniforms and brail books to help disabled youths get an education.

Politics / Buhari‎ Vs Osinbajo: Controversy As Buhari Sacks Osinbajo’s Aides by Maniagist: 10:00am On Nov 07, 2019
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo chaired the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting yesterday on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari who is in London on a ‘private visit.

The duty, however, did little to douse speculations that relations between him and his principal have hit an all-time low.

As the council sat at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Nigerians heard the latest in a series of stories suggesting a methodical whittling down of the vice president’s influence. According to online reports, Buhari approved the sacking of at least 35 out of over 80 aides in the vice president’s office.

The aides, said to have been issued appointment letters in August, included senior special assistants, special assistants, personal assistants and technical assistants.

The president had previously asked Osinbajo to seek presidential approvals for agencies under his supervision and had moved the National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP) from the vice president’s office to a new ministry.

Besides, the Economic Management Team chaired by the vice president has since been replaced with the Economic Advisory Council under the direct purview of the president.

But details have emerged showing that Buhari’s Chief of Staff (CoS) Abba Kyari was behind the sacking of the aides. A presidency source told The Guardian yesterday that the affected staff already had foreknowledge of the development but were asked to tarry a while until Kyari returns from his visit to see the president in London. This is because Osinbajo had hoped that Buhari would reverse the decision.

The source said the aides were taken aback when late on Tuesday news filtered in that Buhari had approved the sacking in a correspondence presented to him by the CoS during the visit.Kyari plans Buhari’s schedules and is known to be one of president’s closest aides.

Ministers reportedly queue in his office to see the president. His influence became apparent to many during a retreat organised by the presidency for ministers-designate.

While declaring the retreat open on November 5, 2015, Buhari declared: “All communications and appointments from you (ministers) to the presidency should be routed through the Office of the Chief of Staff as it is the normal (procedure) in this presidential system.

Some of the aides had their access tags retrieved at the gate yesterday. As they reported for work, security personnel checked their names against a list and seized the tags. Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, could not be reached for reaction as at press time as his number remained busy.

Many Nigerians have faulted Buhari’s failure to transmit a letter to the National Assembly empowering Osinbajo to act on his behalf. But Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Babajide Omoworare, dismissed the criticism.

At a press conference in Abuja, he said: “President Buhari has no reason to do so. I don’t think there is any way or manner that the office of the vice president has been relegated. The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria can work from anywhere he is in the world.

The only celebrated case was that of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who was ill and could not transmit any letter to the National Assembly. The National Assembly had to work round the situation by ensuring that executive powers go to the vice president.

Meanwhile, the president general of Igbo think-tank, Aka Ikenga, Chief Goddy Uwazuruike, condemned the “subterfuge” surrounding the sacking of the aides.

He noted: The combination of the military man and the erudite professor (Osinbajo) was seen by many as a good one. But it appears that the military man has grown tired of the well-grounded reasoning of the professor. The development is certainly not good.

The executive director of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), Ibuchukwu Ezike, said: “You don’t sack them without a cause. It is abuse of due process and negates the rule of law.

Buhari should rescind this decision and stop acts that portray him as intimidating the vice president. That was how the judiciary was intimidated and is now dancing to his whims and caprices.

But the deputy national president of Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mazi Chucks Ibegbu, said: “They should sort themselves out.”

According to him, the group is more concerned about the country’s urgent need for restructuring, justice, equity and fairness and the parlous state of infrastructure in the southeast.

Similarly, a presidency source said: “The vice president must have been the one that orchestrated the action, to rid himself of some of those aides found wanting on graft-related issues and other activities inimical to the policies of the administration.

The source recalled that Osinbajo was in the past accused of employing predominantly members of his faith when he acted as president.

Many Nigerians, especially from the North, criticised him of religious bias in appointments before Buhari returned from his medical trip.

The national president of Yoruba Ronu, Mr. Akin Malaolu, also dismissed the outcry against the sacking. He said since most of the agencies under the office of the vice president have been moved to different ministries, thus there was no need to keep redundant staff. I think Osinbajo himself might have applied for their sacking.

Another source close to the Lagos All Progressives Congress chapter also said some of the sacked aides were no longer relevant in the villa since agencies under Osinbajo’s office have been relocated. But Second Republic lawmaker, Junaid Mohammed, said: “I’m not surprised. There is something abnormal, unusual and completely counter-intuitive in the way Osinbajo put his office.

Accusing the vice president of favouritism in appointments, he said: “This man (Osinbajo) has absolutely no focus other than his own people. And I have reasons to say so. Almost everybody (aide) there is from his church. In a country with this complexity, you don’t run things like that.

People who have been recruited and deployed to Osinbajo’s office are, by law and convention, appointees of the president himself. And for whatever reason, the president has allowed Osinbajo to get away with this.

Even if Buhari is unable to do something about it, it will cause a very serious problem for Osinbajo who is nurturing the idea of vying for president in 2023. There is a strong feeling that the person who will emerge as running mate to Osinbajo could be Pastor Adeboye.

But the national secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties, (CUPP) Salisu Dawaki, said the sacking of the aides is part of a plot by a powerful APC chieftain in the southwest to become president in 2023.

sunnychibs:
These rape cases reminds me of those days
when men
where kids
It reminds me of Okpango, the village's
notorious rapist
okpango was a middle aged man whom
some villagers likened to be a lunatic, some
say he was cursed,i won't be mistaken if i
say what he does for a living was raping
women.
He brought lamentations to lips,
anger,fear,agony and sorrow to women
and entire village in general.
On November 3,2003,Okpango met his
waterloo.
Yes,he almost raped Ugoma the beautiful
virgin.
When Ugoma went to fetch water by the
stream which divided our village with next
village,Okpango rushed, held and cuddled
Ugoma so tightly that the only thing she
could do was cry,her cry attracted the
attention of the neigbouring villagers.
The news flashed across the whole
village, that Okpango the lunatic had been
stoned to death.

Crime / Robbery Forcing Our Children Into Cultism "Anambra Elders Cries Out" by Maniagist: 9:43am On Oct 16, 2019
Elders of the Isiagu community in the Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Tuesday, said incessant robberies in the area had made their children to join cults in order to combat the menace.

Speaking with journalists, the elders alleged that the robbers were being sponsored by prominent men in the community under the pretext of a leadership tussle.

In their separate speeches, Messrs Ifeatu Ezeugo, Nnebedum Samuel and Ifeanyi Okeke called on law enforcement agencies as well as the state and federal governments to save them from sleepless nights occasioned by criminal activities.

Ezeugo stated, “The ugly trend, which has continued unabated in the community, has forced some of our children to join cults so as to defend themselves and the community.

“The people robbing the community are from here, but are being sponsored by prominent men in Isiagu on the pretext of a leadership tussle. The Isiagu community has being in this ugly situation for over six years now; no development.

“Our children in the Diaspora no longer come home due to the fear of being attacked by cultists or armed robbers.”

Ezeugo explained that many lock-up shops were being burgled by the suspected robbers with sophisticated weapons, which they easily use to break the gates of buildings and shops.

Our correspondent gathered that the community had been invaded and had recorded vandalism of transformers and burglaries, among others.

When contacted, the police spokesperson in the state, Haruna Mohammed, said no such complaints had been reported to the police.
