bigfido:Sorry to hear this @bigfido. Frustrating 5months it was. You getting that visa in your next attempt is the only consolation you need to make the wasted time worthwhile. Take your time with the documentations this time boss. And it will happen for you for sure and of course by God's grace. Kudos! |
jayfierce:You cancelled on Aug 3rd, that was when your application was still under processing I believe. What did you do after you cancelled yours with booking.com ? Did you present another hotel booking to the IRCC explaining what happened to the cancelled booking or did you just leave it alone and not say anything? Perhaps I can call the property directly tomorrow and know for sure what conclusion can be reached and all... Whats your take on this Sir. |
jayfierce:Blacklisted? Please what could have caused blacklisting in this matter? Please shed more light on your opinion? I was even thinking I should just leave it alone hoping that even the IRCC should be aware that there's a possibility of cancellation of hotel reservation during the longetivity period of procession people's applications. Lets take for instance, people who their purpose of travel(e.g conference) have passed because of long processing times by IRCC and still get approved, I am sure their hotel reservations must have been cancelled or considered a no show situation. Im just thinking out loud. Please shed more light on your opinion sir. Thank you. |

manlikegb:@jayfierce @bigfido @misterbd @awelekiti @shadeebee78 @zeus001 @RedReact and everyone too. After replying their previous email giving them a phone no to reach me on hoping that I'd explain to them when they call and we can reach an agreement, here's the reply I got from Expedia below; They didn't even bother calling as they mentioned they would..... Dear XXXX XXXX; Thank you for your response. Please note that your reservation has been cancelled and we are unable to process future reservations for your account at this time. If you would like to rebook, we suggest you do so directly with the property. We thank you for your time and apologize that we are unable to assist you further. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX |
jayfierce:Please note that it was done by a travel agent so my answers are what he told me. a) Yes it is free booking, and must have been without down payment. b) 460usd is definitely above the naira mastercard limit these days. c) I don't know for sure which bank card he used. Buh it will definitely be one of the new generation bank cards. d) If you can't use expedia then use booking.com. It allows booking in Naira and I've not been disappointed by the free cancellation so far. I am talking about an already submitted paper route application. So I don't think I can just now change to booking.com I have used booking.com before too in my previous travel to the us and it worked just fine even though I put my card details while making the reservation, I paid with a different naira mastercard when checking in. Don't know why he didn't just use booking this time. |
RedReact:Yes it is free booking as the agent told me that the reservation type is one to be paid for in person when checking in. But then, the hotel will still demand you put a credit card on file when making the reservation. I called the agent now and he told me to not worry or give them my number and when they call, I should explain to them that CBN policy won't allow such amount(460usd for 5 nights) to be charged directly to a Nigerian bank card as its above the CBN regulated monthly spend limit on the card. However, my concern is that incase we are unable to reach an agreement to make the reservation back active, won't that have any effect on my application? Thanks. |
jayfierce:Please my ogas in the house, @jayfierce @bigfido @misterbd @awelekiti @shadeebee78 @zeus001 @RedReact and everyone too. I really need you all to help me shed light on something. I received an email from Expedia(did hotel reservation thru them) that my reservation has been cancelled because they have been unable to charge the credit card, below is the email I received from them; Dear Expedia.com Customer, Your Expedia.com® Purchase: XXXXXXXXXXXXX has been cancelled due to one or more of the following reasons: • We were unable to authenticate the credit card. • We were unable to authenticate the card holder. • The purchase was declined by the credit card company. • Account History. Please reply to this e-mail if you think there may be a mistake. We are happy to work with you to rectify any discrepancy. Since we have been unable to contact you via the telephone numbers listed in your account, please reply to this e-mail with the telephone number we can reach you at and the best time to call. An Expedia® Transaction Processing Representative will contact you at the time you specify. Please do not call Expedia Customer Service for assistance with this matter. They will instruct you to e-mail process@expedia.com. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX. Please what do you advice that I do in this situation or should I just ignore it? I did flight booking through travel agent and also this same hotel reservation was done through the same agent. And I think that was what is mostly advised on here to do than to use one's bank card that can easily be debited. Thanks for your usual help. God bless. |
jayfierce:Thanks a lot Sir, I really appreciate. God bless. |
jayfierce:I love the sound of "The best of both worlds". Please can you help me with a direct link to opening a CIC account? Just want to double check to be sure I'm on the right track. Thanks and God bless. |
jayfierce:Thanks Mr Jayfierce. I read about that somewhere too and I believe its a good thing to do. But what's the chance of that making my application process longer because from what I've read about online applications on here of late, it takes so long and of course that is not new to you from experience. So please enlighten me some more on this. Thanks 'SIR'. |
RedReact:NO EMAIL WAS RECEIVED, however, I got an sms from vfs that it has been forwarded to cic. The message seem kind of incomplete I guess because they didn't state the Tracking ID or anything of reference. Maybe thats the format they use generally; just send to the phone no on file that its been sent, without specific details. Thanks for your help. God bless. |
Hi everyone, thanks for the knowledge that is being shared to benefit all. I wish everyone the very best of outcome in their endeavours. My Questions are: 1. I did a paper route application for about a week now, how do I know that CIC have received my application? 2. How can I know that my documents are complete and they don't require additional documents from me? 3. Then on the receipt I got from after doing biometrics, there's a 'Reference No' and there is a 'Tracking ID'. Which one will I use to track on VFS website. Thanks in anticipation @jayfierce @bigfido @misterbd @awelekiti @shadeebee78 @zeus001 and everyone in general. No knowledge shared is too small. |

@Tcayda, thanks for the info. Since no boarding pass required to purchase from this Abuja travelex, what will be required please? Visa or ticket or anything else? |
misterbd:@misterbd Any particular reason why Niagara Falls should not be listed as one of the places to visit during Christmas? Trying to learn. |
greatmagnus:What is the worth of the Fixed Investment Letter? Your fixed Investment Letter could carry a fat balance and that could be a factor too. Plus your employment plays a role too. |
godash:I'm still new on Nairaland so I'm not sure what to do initiate direct contact. Please send me a direct message if you know how to. Anyways, the different between our rates is probably down to the fact that you chose your own rate of 17%, whereas I agreed to go with their own bid rate. Would love to know what the outcome is from the ironing board, lol. |
feelamong:Our oga @feelamong you inspire me and I would love to learn as much as possible from you. I am keen about investments and also keen about making the most out of it too. You mentioned that you move between Tbills, Bonds and Shares. As of shares in particular, how do you move on it? I have some stocks as well but I just leave there for the long term because I can't even sell right now or I'll be losing a lot of hard earned money. What I would like to know now is, how do you trade your own shares? Do you leave for long term or you trade week in, week out? Plus what is trading on Margin too? I'm listening attentively boss @feelamong |
godash:@godash ......By at the last auction you mean Aug 31st, right? For what tenor did they give you the 17% because I deal with them as well, and I got 16.85% for 182 days. I'm wondering if the rate they dish out to people differ even though its the same tenor. Anyone else with useful info can shed more light on this please. Thanks |
First bank just sent my money back to me saying "Failed NTB transaction". Is this a joke or something? How are we sure these banks are not trying to keep our money with them instead of keying it in T.bills on our behalf. I wish everyone can bid directly without having to go through these banks. My questions: 1. Does anyone know if I can bid for TB through FBN Asset Management(FBNquest). I'm thinking they may be more responsible than FBN. 2. Is it possible to bid through Fidelity Securities without having a fidelity bank account? 3. Big boss @feelamong, how can you link a brother up with your contacts at Fidelity Securities? @feelamong, @easyflow and other gurus, over to you, thanks for the usual help. |

feelamong:Hey @feelamong, I got a successful bid rate of 16.4% for 182 tenor. I read someone on here sailed through with 17.25. Is 16.4 efficient enough or should I try a different institution to help me bid the next time? |
