aye88:@aye88, That amount is small for 3 people let along childbirth inclusive. Depending on how soon you want to re-apply, what I would suggest is provide account statement(Bank B) with extra funds from a different bank account along with the initial statement from Bank A if the funds has been in there before the visa app was refused. But if it has not been in Bank B before the refusal and you just want to arrange for it one way or the other, I would suggest you make the arrangement into the account(Bank B), put it in a fixed deposit of say like 6months. Then use only the Fixed deposit certificate from that bank B, with account statement of bank A(the bank statement you submitted initially) with some topping if possible(no unusual lump sum though) and re-apply. You can terminate the FD some weeks after submission, but to be on the safe side, you may leave the fixed deposit till you get result of your application. A budget sheet will help both you and the Visa Officer. You MAY also choose to apply alone for now without hubby and mum. Either ways, you need to demonstrate some more financial strength. This is the wrong thread for you. This is where you should be https://www.nairaland.com/1346880/giving-birth-canada Read read and read and relate with other mums expecting. Hope this helps, good luck. |
Topsmamen: Sthill5:Thanks for the replies. Thats what I think too, I will tweet the question at IRCC and will let the house know what their reply is. Thanks.Ifeoma77 post=75193961:Chai. If only the brother was living in Canada. |
raphrulz: Sibling point:Quoting the above paragraph by @saidato, I would love gurus in the house to help answer this question. My spouse(PA) has a brother(married). The brother lives in Nigeria but his wife lives in Canada(A citizen), is it possible for my spouse to claim the siblings 15points using the brother's wife? Thanks! |
MrOba:Ok thank you. |
topeolu1:@topeolu1, thanks so much for your concern. I'm trusting God to do mine as well. I will send you a DM now and will be looking forward to your reply. Thanks so so much, God bless. |
Compu001:@Compu001, Hmm, I got some contacts through some good people on here early last year but sadly, they don't even pick calls most times(only pick when they feel like) so its as good as I don't have any contacts right now. I honestly don't know why and its not like I was tight-fisted with them. I guess its too much stress for them. Pls any help you can render will be greatly appreciated. I just sent you a DM now and will await a response. Thanks and God bless. |
Claire40:@Claire40, thanks for your concern. |
@MrOba, Pls how did you resolve your transcript situation in Lautech? Was it undergraduate or Post Graduate? And would your contact be able to assist with getting a PG transcript? Thanks. |
THEY SAY A CLOSED MOUTH IS A CLOSED DESTINY!!! URGENT HELP NEEDED concerning MBA Transcript in lautech. IELTS passed since September 2017 and I’ve requested for MBA transcript in LAUTECH since November 2017, up till this moment, its been one story to the other. PG school claimed they don’t have the result so a request must be sent to the department to have the result sent to them. I personally went to Ogbomosho and escorted the request to the department of Management & Accounting. Its sad and torturing that up till now, the result has not been sent to PG School after 13months. The strength to follow the thread varnished months ago because of this and I'm hoping to get back on track with the latest updates. I’m crying out for any form of assistance as I don’t want to face the hurdle of IELTS anymore. And most importantly, birthday is just couple of months away and losing 5pts could cost a lot considering recent ITA cut off points. I plead with anyone with any influential contact in LAUTECH POST GRADUATE SCHOOL or The DEPARTMENT Of MANAGEMENT & ACCOUNTING or LAUTECH as a whole to please assist me on this. May we all achieve our dreams and it will end in praise. Thanks and God bless. |
Evagreenfields:You'll probably find this thread helpful for birthing in Canada. |
BukTenny01:No solution yet from this end. Only God can help us with this Lautech situation. |
emeify:Yes, but randomly. Its best to have a return ticket or you risk being turned back at POE if you don't have a tangible explanation as to why you don't have a return ticket. |
shadetwins:Hi @shadetwins, sorry for late response. I didn't fill any application or form. If you follow the link I posted in that post, the option I chose was the "Applying through Email" option. So I just sent an email to the stated email address and explained that myself and spouse are Nigerians living in Nigeria and just had our baby in Canada so we want to apply for Visa On Arrival for our new born. Then I attached all the required documents and details that was stated under the "Applying through Email" option. After sending an email, I gave them a call as follow up just to make sure they received it. Then I was told to call back on the eve of our intended travel date. It was when I called that day that they treated it I guess and they emailed the Approval Letter to me. Hope this helps. shadetwins:-Applicant return date. I think this is irrelevant if you follow the link I posted earlier and apply through email. Its much more easier. But just clarify again when you speak with them over the phone sha. -Before you apply for VOA, you should have received baby's passport & have sorted baby's ticket by calling the airline and adding the infant ticket to yours. Paid and confirmed. -Baby's name is the Applicant name. Your own name can come-in in the body of the letter. |
Hotstepper:No problem sis @Hotstepper, we appreciate you as always. Warm regards. |
JESUnifemi4eva:@JESUnifemi4eva Amen and thanks. |
Ladies and Gentlemen, big kudos to everyone who has shared informative details on here at one point or the other. Myself and spouse just returned from Canada about a week ago and I thought to share our birthing journey and experience to keep the info on here flowing. Sorry it may be a bit long. ABOUT VISA APPLICATION: We submitted our TRV application(Renewing) before we found out that we don port so birthing was not mentioned in our application. POINT OF ENTRY: Our point of entry experience was smooth. The automated machine didn’t work for either of our passports, so we just proceeded to the counter to inform the CBP officer and he said thats no problem. So he asked us random questions, I guess those were the questions we were supposed to answer on the machine initially. Why are you in Canada today? Vacation and Childbirth Have you contacted a Dr? Yes, we have an appointment scheduled. How long will you be staying? 2months plus Do you have any meat products? No So he gave us this yellow card with a mark on it, and on our way out, we were directly to a room where they have another set of counters and a queue. I guess that's because of the mark on our card. Anyways, we got on the queue and waited till it was our turn. The officer we met with asked about the same questions and also asked how much we have on us. I told her and I asked she'd want to see, but she said no need. Took fingerprints and we were stamped in. Our bag of food was not even checked. I guess there were no concerns from their scans. IN CANADA: We initially had an appointment with Dr Ayodele but for some reason, that didn’t work out as Brampton Civic stopped carrying out CS. He wanted to refer us to another Nigerian Dr in North York, but somehow we couldn’t reach an understanding and I don’t want to bore you all with that story. Then it became very challenging to get another Dr, we made calls over calls and most would reject non OHIP or reject a 33wks gone patient or say they’re not taking new patients at the moment. Their system in Canada is somehow and most of these Doctor’s secretary are saucy. Anyways, thanks to who else but @Hotstepper. God bless her for us. I explained our situation to her and she suggested if we don’t mind coming to Richmond Hill(which is about 45-55min drive to Brampton where we’re staying) that she could refer us to a Dr she had personally used in the past. She secured an appointment for us with the Dr and that was it. Dr Name: C Ryan Ou Address: 9651 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 1V7 Phone No: 905-918-0522 Hospital: McKenzie Health(Richmond Hill) Tests Done at LifeLabs: HbAIC, CBC, Prenatal AB, HIV, Prenatal Rubella, + Doc fee = 63cad Scan: 95cad. He demanded to see baby scan. Blood works at Hospital: 154cad (a day to admission) Dr fees for CS: 2500cad Anesthesiology services for Labour & Delivery: 1350cad in cash (Guess epidural is here) Hospital fees Mother/night: 2600(cheapest ward of 4 patients) Hospital fees Baby/night: 1300 CS fee: 875cad Lots of petty tests with petty costs done after birth, not sure if this is general or peculiar to our own situation. Advice is, always budget above the fixed fees. Baby check up after 3days: 30cad at a walk in clinic. Another check-up after a week for another 30cad. I’d say call a few walk in clinics and ask for their price then go with the one that is ok for you. Birth Certificate(Long&Short)- 60cad (35+25) Took about a week Passport- 107cad (express) Submitted Thursday, picked it up on Monday. Infant ticket: Called Airfrance office in Canada and got it sorted at 126cad. Naija Travel for Baby: 75usd. Did Visa On Arrival. It was stressful making payment on the site so I opted for the option to pay at Nigeria Airport which attracts an extra 20usd service charge. So Total = 95usd. This page has all you need to sort VOA - https://immigration.gov.ng/visa-on-arrival/ My host was very helpful with antenatal and Hospital visits but we had to take uber a few times and it ranges from 150-160cad to and fro Brampton to Richmond Hill. Its true to always choose an hospital close to where you stay. Lastly I want to say a very BIG thank you to @Hotstepper. She is as kind in person as she is on here. She even visited us and I really don’t know how to thank her enough. God bless you Sis. I wish y’all a successful visa application and birthing experience as well. |
My Mother-in-Law's TRV application was refused 2days back. Reasons given are: -purpose of visit -personal assets and financial status. I will order the GCMS notes to have a good knowledge of where we went short as I really was expecting a positive outcome. The plan was for her to go assist her daughter(a visitor to Canada herself who just gave birth in Canada) for a few weeks before they all return back to Nigeria being a first time mom. The only thing I can think of is that we didn't include her personal bank statement, and I thought it's not necessary since she's retired(above 60yrs) and I'm the one sponsoring her(which I backed with a sponsorship letter and bank statement). Timeline: Online Application, treated in London. Submitted June 13 Biometrics June 20 Refused on July 25. Anyways, good luck to everyone. UPDATE: October 30, 2018. So GCMS notes came in and like I guessed before, the major reason for denial was stated that "VO was unable to assess Applicant's financial situation back in Nigeria, therefore not satisfied that the Applicant is a bonafide visitor that will return after the visit. Lesson learnt, and I hope this helps other future applicants. |
Codeblues:Actually, I know someone who's biometrics letter didn't come through on time like yours. Guess what, she mailed them after 1week and she received the biometrics letter that same day. What we don't know for sure is if the email did the trick or it was just a coincidence. Anyways, here's the email address if you want to try as well: question@cic.gc.ca, lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca Send to one and cc the other. Make sure to include your - Full name, Application No, Payment receipt no in your email. All the best. |
jpepper:@jpepper, while you wait for elders in the house to provide a well detailed guide to your requests, let me give a try my own little way. I know for sure that both your parents' applications can be treated together regardless the route(paper or online). The trick lies in the answers you provide when answering the questionnaire. When your dad(primary applicant) is answering the questionnaire, it will get to a point where he'll be asked if he wants to submit an application for a family member, he has to pick 'YES' here. Then he should just follow thru till he'll be asked again if he wants to submit an application for another family member, then he will say NO, and then continue till the end. When done, a checklist will be generated for both him and your mom. I don't think it should be a problem that she's a Home-Maker. While I have never personally used such, I know it flies for USA application(if applying with hubby) so I believe it should work with Canada too. Your dad will just have to make sure his own Proof of Funds, Home ties et al satisfies the visa officer. In my opinion, given that your parents will be handling the most part of their application themselves, I'll suggest you consider the paper route so they won't have to deal with the stress of having to scan and fit documents to usual 4MB. As for your bank statement, sounds like a good idea if its included but I just don't know how to bring it in now especially because you're not the one inviting your dad who is the primary applicant. I'm thinking he can mention you in his "Introduction you" and perhaps provide your details that way. I don't know for sure, let the elders chip in. No of years issued for the visa is totally up to them. I have been issued 1year TRV before, and I have later been issued till passport expires. The VO's use their discretion and I believe thats down to how convinced they are by the applicant's profile. As of right now, if you want to go paper route(in Lagos), you will need to go to VFS office, then they will give you a date to come back for submission. Hope this helps. All the best to your folks. |
Please gurus in the house, someone submitted a TRV application online late on June 5, and up until now, no biometrics letter has been received. Has anyone encountered something like this before? And what can the person do please? Thanks a lot. Cc: @OmoBendel24, @ladylco, @jawa, @justwise, @jayfierce |
Tadal7:Good thing is, you still have time on your side. Why don't you equip yourself with the abundance of info on the not so much 60+ pages on here. Also, I believe "canada visit" thread will do you a lot of good in terms of applying for a visa. https://www.nairaland.com/2103860/canada-visit-tourist-visa-discussion/0 Read and ask questions along the way and people will be happy to guide you. All the best. |
Candybright:I don't think its his own personal decision. Its the hospital(Brampton Civic) he's attached to that came up with the decision for now. I believe if someone they have registered to have VD eventually needs emergency CS, they will still perform it. This is entirely my own assumption though. |
paparazzi1987:@paparazzi1987, I believe you're getting this entirely wrong and I have a story to tell you to clarify it to you. My brother had visited Canada before in 2011. Spent about 2wks and returned. Didn't abuse the condition of his visa. Fast forward to 2018, he applied ONLINE for Canada TRV with his wife and children and they were all denied. He couldn't believe it as the reasons ticked were travel history, purpose of visit, and one other reason I can't seem to recall right now. He was pissed and wanted to re-apply through paper this time and of course express his displeasure and all. I advised him to hold on first and apply for GCMS. When the GCMS report came, here are some of the VO's noted concerns that I can remember off of the top of my head; -entire family traveling -scanned documentation mumbled up. Some lump sums in head of family account and not sure the money will be available to him while in Canada. -I can see they have some travel history to US, UK, Ireland etc but its hard to tell who went where(another case of doc mumbled up I guess) -GCMS record shows head of family had an Express Entry profile. -Wife have an aunt living in BLAH BLAH province Now, after I read all these, I asked my brother if he ever applied for Canada PR, he said he joined the express extra pool in 2015 but he did not apply because he never got Invitation to Apply(ITA) till the profile expires. Point of my story is, its not until you have applied for PR before they know you intend to migrate to Canada. Having an express entry profile alone is enough proof of your intent. Be it long time or short term. Hope someone learns from this. |
Candybright:@Candybright, No, and I'm actually looking elsewhere right now. If you're still in Nigeria and not yet far gone, I would suggest you give a try with Dr Ayodele. Not guaranteed but you can be lucky. I said this because we were able to book an appointment(cash paying client) through his receptionist when we called back in Nigeria although we won't be using him because he doesn't handle CS for now. This was the conclusion at the appointment. So like I said, put a call through to his office(905-451-9486) and you might get lucky. Wish you all the best. |
Nadnad: Candybright: aquaboss11: aquaboss11:No, we did not declare childbirth during our application. This is because we only just found out about the good news(pregnancy) after submitting our application. So we were a little bit worried too about POE but God took control. As for Doctor & Hospital in Brampton, we're still looking and intend to make some more contacts this week. This is where we have free accommodation, hence why we're sticking to Brampton. Anyone with valuable information about Doctor and Hospital in Brampton with fair costs should please help. EDD is early July. Thanks for your help. |
UPDATE. So we(hubby & wife) entered Canada yesterday. POE experience was smooth. Automated machine didn't work well for us so we proceeded to the Immigration officer's counter and told him the machine didn't work for us. He said its ok and asked us a few questions like; Why are we here in Canada? Vacation and Childbirth When are you due? July. Have you made arrangements with an hospital? Yes Any meat products? No Tobacco? Yes a few packs. How long will you be staying in Canada for? 2months plus. Then he filled a yellow paper and wished us all the best and to proceed inside and show them the card. The guy we met at the next entrance, saw the yellow card and showed us to the right(an office with other people on the queue). We joined the queue and waited for our turn. It was a lady officer who asked us other random questions like the ones above, then asked how much money we have with us and all. Told her and asked if she wants to see it, but she said no need. Did fingerprints, and stamped us in. Then straight to baggage claim. Even the few food items we traveled with was not even checked. Now we're at our host's at Brampton. Thank God for everything. |
Bethiano:Congratulations. Please how did you go about the travel insurance part? |
Hotstepper:@Hotstepper, good day to you. Please do you think its necessary to send a change of intent letter to canadian embassy here in Nigeria before one embarks on this missionary journey. They do it a lot on the birthing in U.S thread and I though I should ask for guidance. Thanks for your help. Meanwhile, I sent you an email some weeks back but didn't get a reply. Would be nice to get reply. Thanks. |
Oopsy:I mean re-apply. Not sure if appealing is forthcoming. Even though it may return positive(if appeal exists), I still think its a waste of quality time when one can just order GCMS and tackle the concerns raise by the VO. All these are just my personal opinions. |
glam12:https://www.nairaland.com/4472519/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled You might want to spend quality time on Page 0 and Page 1 before you ask questions as it has most things summarized in links, just click and digest. You'll be glad you did. |
gentleiphy:@gentleiphy, and how did you go about getting traveling insurance for your mom if I may ask. Information is always key. Thanks. |
Ifeoma77:Thanks @Ifeoma77, I got the contact details now. |
since you are there already.
