Guys please kindly help answer this question; assuming u're a military or paramilitary officer in Nigeria and u are pursuing ur DV visa,what is ur chances of been granted the visa cos i understand ur application will be subjected to administrative processing and some tough verifications which could either be positive or otherwise,and how best do u think is good to respond if CO ask why are u resigning ur miliatry/paramilitary job to live in the states? My friend is actually trying to do this cos of the future of his kids,he doesn't want them to grow up or experience all this Nigerian academic and social wahala.ur kind advice will be appreciated

It's his type that don't want hardworking people,friends,families and co-workers to succeed,he will always feel threatened anytime he sees people struggling to make it.Even when some of my friends in UK,USA and other European countries complain about the hardship/economy i just smile and ask tell them if life is that hard for u then pack ur load and come back to Naija but they will never try it,some them have spent 8 years overseas USA inclusive they are yet to come back home due to "hardship"...so guys don't let anyone discourage u from achieving ur dreams,No matter how bad USA is,it can never be as rotten and destroyed as Nigeria.Period! At least their leaders are even making efforts to salvage the economy but our own leaders are plunging the country into debts,embezzlement,corruption, and the masses suffering like hell....come to Chinese and Indian companies in Lagos and see young men,factory workers working for 8k/month.

@ Temmy, Gentinger, Adesoji and any other person who has knowledge about how this age declaration affidavit for NPC works, I have a problem.. I've been told that to get d NPC age attestation, that I need to swear an affidavit... Now I just found out from someone that I CANNOT swear an age declaration affidavit by myself (because I wasn't there when I was born) but that I need to get my dad, or mom or elder relative to swear it on my behalf... Now here's the problem- I just got into Lag few days ago and there's no family of mine I can call on here... Is there any way around this bottle neck or do I just pay the 8k to d NPC guy (who asked me pay and he'd take care of everything) to sort this all out for me?
Any help would b deeply appreciated

U have 2 options,go to court and they wil do it 4 u while u pay extra charges or give that NPC guy the whole job to do and save urself the stress,so u can concentrate ur energy on other things.Goodluck

You give Nigerians a bad International image and complicate issues for others who are honest when you do that.

@Gentiger @Justwise and everyone who feels that my advise base on seal777's friend is "morally wrong"(I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE TO THE HOUSE),well it was just an advise which he can choose to take or ignore,he has his final decisions to make on the issue and not by force and who told u the guy is not already considering a desperate measure to succeed through the visa stuff and everything.Telling the TRUTH in this case will not save him at all and will only complicate his issue for the rest of his DV application because his claiming to be married while he's not which is a LIE in the first place,the CO will not even give a listening ear to his case at all,it is outright disqualification,his application records are also in their database.
Sometimes i just smile when i see some people come here to ask questions base on marriage stuffs and educational qualifications,some of these people have done something illegal base on marriage arrangee or educational certificate stuffs e.t.c but will come here to give a smooth lie or tell a problem they intentionally caused themselves,so whoever tell lies should be ready to cover up with further lies.Period!
And please for God sake u guyz should stop appearing and talking too holy as if u've never done something morally wrong or sinful in ur life before to pass through a very difficult situation,we are all humans and faced with lots of challenges in our lives which we all look for a desperate solution to escape the negative consequences,either u want to accept it as a fact or not the truth is that every morality has a price and let's stop this "holier than thou" attitude.

seal777: He registered DV 2013 as married ( even though they were just dating back then without a formal marriage done ) but unforunately they are no longer in good terms again while he is committed to someone else but he just discovered he has been selected in the current dv lottery 2013.

His case number is current for October already, He need to submit his application forms to KCC as soon as possible but He cant get back with his Ex Girlfriend as this would affect his current relationship with his fiancee ( She is aware of the scenario as we speak ) .

PLEASE ADVICE, WHATS THE WAY OUT?.

@Seal777,though this issue looks very complicated,but the bible says wisdom is profitable to direct and for me there's always a way out of every problem,this are my candid advice for him;

1.He should call his Ex and let them have a heart-to-heart talk on this issue in the presence of his present girl,let them have a deep talk base on the issue on ground,the guy should swallow his pride to the last drop and make sure his present girl doesn't complicate issues by been jealous or aggressive.Let them use their six senses and not be emotional about the issue.There's more to gain in this(DV2013 VISA) for everybody than been unnecessarily selfish and stupid.The EX will definitely want to prove tough and headie but with pleading,humility and prayer she will succumb to the next strategy.

2. After much discussion on the issue,there should be an agreement for them to get a marriage certificate at the registry through back door and backdated just to prove marriage is done and after getting the whole thing done the "fake couples" can separate when they get to the states, and arrange for a divorce,giving reasons like irreconcilable differences(so both the guy and ex gain here)then the guy can now come back after 1 year to marry his real woman and in 3 years the real woman can join him in the states(the guy and his present girl gain here).....Desperate situations requires desperate measures,he already put himself in a tight corner and he should be ready to go any length to make sure his American dreams come through because his not even sure if his present relationship will also last to marriage so he should not dull himself..No woman can destroy my dreams,i will always find a way around them.If he loose this chance of getting his visa he should just go and wait for another ten years cos this visa lottery is become seriously difficult like a camel passing through the eyes of a needle.

As for Tiwana's claims, it's okay if your sister was admitted in these mushroom private universities desperate for students irrespective of JAMB score. Tell me she's in a state, Federal or any of the renowned Private universities and I will label your claims as false.

The information is still there only that u won't see it on the front page,u will have to put ur confirmation number and other details where u will see HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED page there u will see the October selection notice....whether is there or not,the selection was a statement of probability and not certainty. 5pm tomorrow is less than 24hours,so lets keep our fingers crossed cos i have a very strong faith that the selection will hold and i will be a winner in Jesus Name.

DVIS helps KCC personnel track the enormous number of entries submitted to the Diversity Lottery. Entries are tracked by rank numbers that are assigned based on the order of selection in the lottery.
When the entry period is over, an algorithm within DVIS is run to randomly select the winning entries. Each winning entry will go through the validation process.[b][/b]Once a case is determined to be complete, a selectee packet is sent to the selectee. The packet contains a letter saying that the user has been selected for further consideration in the Diversity Visa program, along with several forms that the selectee must complete to provide more information.

Note the last sentence - they will go back and again randomly select more. I don't know, take it for what you will. If they were really "hidden" winners, a better description would be "spares" or "substitutes" or something like that.

Can't it be obtained from any police department in Enugu? And also, does US embassy in Nigeria, accepts examinations conducted by NABTEB? As you all know, WAEC, is not an examination, but a board that conducts it as well as NABTEB. Please my big bro., like Temmy please, suffix me with your idea.

Well,i don't really know if there's a specific police station where u can obtain ur police report but i think its advisable to go to a specific police headquarters in the area where u have lived(location is not important),pay ur five thousand naira and get it without stress.As for the medicals,i checked on lagos US embassy website and they gave a specific instruction that u should only do ur medicals in their own(US EMBASSY) approved hospital and it was 2 or 3 of them listed.Please visit lagos US embassy site for more on the medicals,don't do what will make ur application to be rejected due to shear carelessness.NABTEB is also acceptable so far it's a national exam for Final year students in secondary school,which can also be used as a prerequisite for admission into higher institutions.

foworola: Gentiger, not trying to pull issues here with you. However, you will agree with me that not everyone has such a family as yours,and i must say its quite impressive. that being said, i am assuming that you have not really been to see these your uncles and sometimes things are not as people perceive it to be, their mansions might not really be mansions, and again having a 8 bedroom mansion in Texas, North Carolina or Georgia doestnt mean u are super duper rich, cost of living is just lesser there but job opportunities are not so much around there. Your uncles do have children and they come first so do not rest on your oars believing you have unlimited stay at an uncle's place. EVERY MAN 4 HIMSELF!

For everyone else without such connections, my candid advise from a Nigerian to another is this, get the driving test manual of the state you land in ASAP, and learn it well. You may not be able to sit for the test until you get your social security and green card as you may need 6 points of identification to book the exam but reading before all the documents come will help u write the exams early. Also, its always better to go apply for your social security as soon as possible cos some districts take longer than others. to be continued...

@Foworola,God bless u for this insight and exposure,over the years i've really come to realize that our people abroad are nothing but lairs and they all live and display fake lifes making us all believe that they are rich and well to do over there but when it comes to helping u they turn their back against u and even make u their number 1 enemy as soon as u ask for any assistance from them.Let me briefly share my testimony and experience about "RICH" Family members/relatives;

During my service,i was very lucky to be posted to an oil/gas company and things were really ok for me financially,i had an uncle in UK who has always promised to help me for my undergraduate studies abroad which he never fulfilled till i graduated and went for service,while i was serving he pressured me to apply for my masters in UK,promising that he will foot the bills ,which i did and was given admission and when the admission letter arrived he started singing a different tune asking me and my parent to go look for N5.5 million which we will use for bank statement and return the money to the owner after interview/visa is granted.This was my uncle who knows my background and he's my mums direct elder brother and he understands how difficult life has been for us yet he was asking me to go look for such money which i told him is not possible.After a while he reduced the money to N3million,2million,N500k and later N250K. Fortunately for me after service i was retained in the company for 4 months on contract basis,all these while i never knew the game my uncle was upto because i have always believed he was rich and living a large life with his wife and kids,in short i trusted him so much because he was truly rich but soething went wrong wth his business and he went so bankrupt that he can hardly feed conveniently. Then came a day he called me that i should try and bring 250K and his wife is ready to assist me with 250k to make up 500k and we will use that money to borrow from money lenders and use it for bank statement to get visa and after that i can come to UK and hustle for the school fee and other things,so there came a time my boss and friends in the office were very skeptical about the reality of my going abroad to school and they ask if i trusted my uncle so much that he's capable of helping me and i said yes but the only question i never really got an answer to is; if my uncle is that rich and living ok why will he need my 250k to help me come abroad to study a big question.....To cut my long story short my uncle duped me of 250k till this day and also i lost the opportunity to get a contract renewal in the company because i thought i was going for my masters and getting a job is like a camel passing through the eye of a needle,so i lost the big opportunity.
My point is this never trust or believe whatever ur family,friends or relatives abroad tell u,they lie alot and they live fake life,infact i know many of them that request for financial help from their family back in Naija here.So now imagine asking such people for documents that reveals their true nature and status...definitely u are asking for too much trouble.Either u believe it or not from my research 80% of our people abroad are not as wealthy or rich as we think so lets learn lessons from this stories and stop unnecessary arguments.
The Oyibo people that removed AOS as part of the requirements for visa know very much what they are doing because they've also realized that 85% of Nigerians abroad will not assist on that AOS base on their status,hence there's no need asking.
Please also learn from story...don't live ur destiny in the hands of family members abroad,they will so disappoint u and live u frustrated,i have alot of stories about them but i will leave the rest for another day.

I have watched closely from afar the arguments about this AOS documents between Temmytanny,Gentiger,Brigthmon and others,the argument have become very irritating and childish.I'm not here to blame or favor anyone in this war of words but all i ask for is that this matter be buried once and for all,whoever has the AOS issue or questions should be directed to previous posts or pages on these thread. Nobody is perfect or a know it all,we are all on the learning curve and meant to help or assist eachother.
