kullozone:1. Too much "Villageness" is your problem? 2. Who is "Buharee"? 3. You mean Buhari influenced/sensored the international oil price and got the global media to lie to you? "who has bewitched you?" |
Isoko1stSon:Pray tell! how should we imagine it? Is it from $65b >> $29b Or Is it from $29b >> $34b |
Standing5:......and what is wrong with prospecting for Oil? Bros, don't be fooled by political statements of politicians in all facets of our society. Basic geology tells us that Oil is found in traps in most basins. We are currently exploiting the Niger-Delta basins, what happens to other basins? Chad & Niger for example are exploring their own end of basins that shares common "features" with ours. I think many of you have "bad-belle" and are uncomfortable to a reality that Oil will be discovered in the North |
dorothy111:Because they fund research. Any body, be it private or govt needs to commit to funding research. That is the missing link |
buchilino:I am helping you to balance it na! Bros, everyone has the moral right to question a GEJ that sat idlly and the greatest looting in the history of this country happened under his watch. |
fearless2014:I don't take meth like I suspect you do, as such I do not read their "intentions in words". Standard ops of capital projects takes care of the useless argument you labour to make. |
fearless2014:"Accessible road networks" !!! - WTF is that? You mean as the world is moving towards building an integrated transport system in consmopolitan cities, PH is contented in the useless ole rhetoric "Accessible road networks" In Lagbaja's voice - Mo sori fun gbogbo yin lokakan (I pity you all). You truly deserve the kind of leaders you get |
tolustwart:Much more important than that, there are many positives that will come out of this. Nigeria will be a bastion of knowledge in this area. You can imagine the floodgate of research that will open up after Monkey-pox is finally contained, eliminated and cured? If we are fast enough, our Pharmaceutical industry can come up with patented-drugs which can be sold to other parts of the world. |
Standing5:That is a key problem. The universities themselves needs to bear the responsibility of their readiness or otherwise. It is not that the FG universities cannot do this project given to Redeemers, but how has the leadership of the FG universities sustained the capacity growth of the Universities? Virtually all the lecturers in the private Universities had their roots in the FG/State owned Universities. Research collaboration is global, the internet has provided huge access to information and resources. What Redeemers are able to do, a lecturer in a typical Abia State University is able to do provided the infrastructure are made available |
spongeisback:1. I agree with you on the bolded part. 2. I do not understand what how you arrived at Adeboye being a fraud here |
Sunnycliff:.....and the simple answer to your question is - WHY NOT?. Osinbajo told the world that Africa has matured and is learning to solve her problems are own way. |
DangotePikin:This mentality is exactly is one of the problems we have.....much bigger than Monkey pox |
fearless2014:Forget about Amaechi now. Amaechi has left the scene, Wike is on the scene now and has shown sub-par creativity. The question you should ask yourself is do Port-Harcourt people deserve a modern-day intra-city rail system? Poorly Educated? ![]() |
fearless2014:You mean you also read their intention in the said report? Man! you must be from Mars or the meth you're taking is making you psychic or psychotic |
buchilino:Ops! you mean you disagree that they are not saints? = Can we agree then that they were the greatest "barawo" govt ? |
Isaacmacdon:Bros, While I agree with in you in part, I also think we are running a not sustainable system in our higher institutions. At this rate, govt will contnue to have these problems with lecturers as govt is not the right organ to run higher institutions. Universities and Polys should drive towards autonomy. They should be self-funded. Let govt privatise some of their stakeholding in these higher institutions and let private players come in. Universities can more than generate enough that will not only pay all the welfare of the lecturers, but will also adequately equip it and leave some money to spare. In foreign institutions, private organisations pump huge amount of monies into universities to fund research and also as part of their social responsibility. The amount of money in the foundations of some universities abroad is more than the foreign reserves of some African countries. We really need to rethink longer term |
buchilino:I am concurring with you that "GEJ and the forty thieves" are "All Saints" |
fearless2014:Of course you will not see in the write up that alternatives was provided. You know it is actually rocket science to people like you to imagine it exists. The writers assumed that the report should be comprehend by rational minded people. They were oblivious that people like you with comprehension deficit still exist |
fearless2014:You people and funny conjectures. Oh! you are sold on Wike's inability to be creative shey? First off, I do not trust Wike's probe panel.....and todate nothing productive has come out of that panel. Also, pls read into the details and not the headlines 1. Marcus Gibbs is not the consultant to evaluate the project. It was actually the consultant to execute the project Viguezang said his company, which the Rivers State government engaged on March 1, 2010, to construct the multi-million Monorail project, was of the view that the project, which has gulped well over N33.9 billion, was no longer tenable, due to paucity of funds to proceed with the project.2. Secondly, the major problem was the equity partner (major stakeholder) could not continue to raise the needed equity capital According to him, paucity of funds and the seeming failure of the state government’s original technical and equity partners, TSI Nig Ltd, headed by the former military administrator of Rivers State, retired Brig-Gen Anthony Ukpo, to contribute its 80 per cent equity holdings, means the state cannot continue with the project.I would have tot Wike should have looked for new investors or concession the damn thing. Even when Aregbe was stuck on the Airport project, he concessioned the damn thing and freed the state of its financial gridlock. It cannot be any brainier. So if Amaechi did not execute the project well, outright cancellation and denying the people of Rivers an asset that will enhance city development is the way to go? Let us shelve hatred and be realistic. |
fearless2014:You pulled that from your ass din't you? Well your GEJ- govt as so "effectively useless" that the international community had to tag him "ineffectual bufoon" ![]() |
buchilino:How can I say that......when we know the previous administration are the "All Saints" |
fearless2014:Idi.otic mugu. Are you saying anything new here? Problem is, intellectually deficient people like you it be made elementary before you comprehend. When the minister said may break down the bridge, you think alternatives have not been made? Bros on reasoning capability scale 1-10, if I place you on 1, I am over-rating you |
buchilino:The previous govt was not trying to do something......they did many things. If a Diezani can steal the nation blind or the Dasuki can become the official ATM of govt or the govt can take pictures of roads in Cameroun and Private estate projects in Lekki as govt housing schemes........then they more than tried |
fearless2014:Sharrap fo.ol! Costaim & Jibowu bridge are among the most strategic bridges in Lagos? Oh! I never knew until you told me..... mschewwwwww! So they will build "alternative flyovers" in the moon? or inside people's bedrooms? |
heysquare:to just criticize what u av no knowledge of. I was surprised to see d track of d train being laid perfectly on Sunday wen I passed tru d area d project was ongoing . about three weeks ago I saw dem doing d groundwork in fagba-area of lagos. I wil revisit d place today to get d pictures[/quote]Revisit and get pictures? Bros, do not waste your time. These demented children of hate will still have every cause to complain. They will change gear at every instant. They will now say stuffs like - "they are constructing rail line so that they can campaign in the next election" as if that is any brainer |
Myde4naija:I disagreed with you from the underlined up here. You are probably better to as "If" first, before "That is why" |
rchilee:....and so, dem swear for Wike to also continue to abandon it? If Ambode had abandone Fashola's light rail project, do you think Lagos would have progressed? |
mywells:Why are you displaying a "masterpiece" of ignorance, just because of hatred. You have not even bothered to read what the train is meant to serve. Oworo ko, Ipaja ni. |
SmartMugu:In any capital project of this nature, you perform cost benefit analysis before you come to some conclusion. All the "why this; why that" question you're asking have been considered. Take for example, asking them to reroute from the Jibowu bridge..... the question is to where? Do you live in Lagos and are you family with both Jibowu and Costain environs? If they are to reroute, do you know the number of houses they will demolish? Secondly, you ask they should do underground? well that is another terrain entirely. Aside costs, I am not sure if that would have been economically feasible at this stage. Sub-surface Lagos is mostly water. Virtually the whole of Costain axis for example is a "floating" environ, stretching up to National Arts Theatre. It will take some high-level investment in underground drilling and casement technology to pull that off. In addition cost of running such underground is also a factor. Putting all these together, I believe it is more cost effective to pull down the two bridges. The combined length of both bridges is not up to 1km, so putting it back up should not be a problem, as such would have been factored in the contract |
obailala:they also claimed that GEJ revolutionized the railwaysQueenOfNepal: :Abii oo... Just the same way some slimy pdp/jonathanian fraudsters took screen shots of computer generated images of roads in Cameroon just before the last general elections and claimed GEJ had built 25,000km of world standard roads including the Lagos-Ibadan, Onitsha-Enugu, PH-Enugu, Benin-Lokoja, PH-Owerri, Elele-Owerri, 2nd Niger Bridge etc. |
jaxxy:Bros, Simple logic - both the Costain and Jibowu bridge are on the ROW of the high speed rail. They are old bridges, and may not withstand the impact of the "stress" (span, speed and vibration) that the new train will bring. You get? |
savagefinder:Not only is he/she hindering progress, worse still he's calling people to mediocrity. No wonder people stay stagnant. So we should not connect the country with standard gauge rail systems....because hates the govt in power? Some people are just pathetically ridiculousfearless2014: :I think you are only hindering progress.. Lagos state has beyond doubt shown that they stick to their words.. Eko Atlantic city that we thought was a hoax is a reality.. |
