Mr op please don't listen to anyone telling you to leave your church or give it a thought. If she can break up because of something as mundane asthe church you attend, then she can break up for anything then. If you change your church because you want to get married to her, just be ready to start compromising on many things, because she and her family don't like it.

Haba the Anglican is not born again enough?
Don't they have EFAC?

Why are some Christians like this? That's just the sole reason why there's so much disintegration in Christendom, some people believe there church is better off others, and you have to be a member of their church to be taken serious.

Seriously if I'm in your shoes or I have a brother in your shoe, I will advise him to forget the girl. If you are good for her in all ramifications but she won't agree to marry you because of your denomination, then it's her lost.

God knows I don't like overly religious peeps
My dear sis,

Your sub is absolutely on point. The moment her love is conditioned like this, she should as well go. Painful though, but this to me is subtle blackmail. I have a friend that went through something like this. He let her off.... and my friend later became an Anglican priest

I believe that the government (their employer) understand the sharing arrangement as well before they announced contract termination and INTELS too understand it before backing down now, you don't need to explain again. Sharing arrangements is not the cause of rift here. FG wanted to be sure that INTELS is not cheating which I'm sure that FG knew they are doing. Nigeria business environment is corrupt, many are greedy.
Don't be surprised if the government's 70% jumps up in terms of amount being remitted once the INTELS stops deducting their share of 30% from the source.

I would have said that you bother less on educating these people that have chosen to reason amiss. But to address the centrality of your submission, the evidences have shown in the total 2014/2015 VS 2015/2016 revenue of NPA, where there was over 1000% jump

Some of you are quite dense, and you're now sounding like a broken record because you simply cannot accept the alternative view.

Has it not been made abundantly clear that GOVERNMENT'S SHARE OF THE PILOTAGE FEES (70%+) WOULD BE REMITTED TO THE TSA WHILE INTELS WOULD RETAIN ITS OWN CONTRACTUALLY AGREED SHARE TO FUND IT'S OPERATIONS?

Why are you still talking about pilotage fees domiciling in Intels account?
It's more unfortunate that you demonstrate lack of capability of basic comprehension, let alone try to get into conversations beyond your level of intelligence. Pray tell, is your submission a fitting reaction to the question you quoted? But that in its is not even as ridiculous as you argue, albeit daft-like, and rationalize that in a post TSA regime, a private collecting agency will make a claim for warehouse govt revenue outside TSA.

The question is simple dummy, where was the money paid into before the supposed claims of remitting 72%into govt account?

INTELS versus NPA: The Issues At A Glance – by Ashton Dagana
OCTOBER 18, 2017 BY EDITOR

It has become expedient to deconstruct some and outright falsehood being peddled in the media about the decision of the Federal Government to terminate a pilotage agreement between the Nigerian Ports Authority and Integrated Logistics Services Limited (Intels). When a lie goes unchallenged for too long, the mischievous man will brand it as the truth. Efforts by columnists-for-hire to label the termination of this illegal agreement as a political move is meant to achieve just that. The onus, therefore, is on all well-meaning intellectuals to rise in defense of the truth and furnish Nigerians with the facts of the matter.

The boat pilotage agreement between the NPA and INTELS was signed in 2010 for a validity period of 10 years. Under the agreement, INTELS collects pilotage payments made by ship owners on behalf of the NPA and takes 28 percent of all revenue collected as commission. The argument that INTELS has created thousands of jobs for Nigerians through the agreement is moot because that is exactly what is expected of any company that makes $353.066 million in just seven years from one contract. Creating jobs in the process of executing a contract that generates N100 billion in revenue for any company is not a groundbreaking achievement.

The fear that thousands of Nigerian workers will be laid off with the termination of the INTELS agreement is equally invalid. The NPA management has stated that a new consultant will be engaged for the pilotage contract within three months. By implication, the new contractor will be required to employ thousands of workers with the requisite skills and experience in the logistics sector. The likelihood, therefore, is for a net increase in the number of jobs created as a result.

Will the termination of this agreement scare investors away from Nigeria? The answer is a resounding No. The Intels agreement that was terminated was not only illegal, it was also a monopoly. Therefore, this move by the Federal Government will open the oil and gas logistics sector of the economy up for more foreign direct investment. Most importantly, investors that are already operating in the country and new entrants will be encouraged to follow all due process in their dealings with the government and minimize corruption.

The argument that INTELS is not the only company collecting revenue on behalf of the government is a futile attempt to distract people away from the crux of the issue, which is INTELS’ refusal to comply with the Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy. Indeed, INTELS is not the only company collecting revenue for the government, but INTELS wants to be the only company collecting revenue into accounts that the government does not have access to or control over. This is the idea behind the TSA policy – INTELS cannot keep revenue that belongs to the government in its own account to make deductions as it wishes and only pay the government when it feels like.

Regarding the loans that INTELS claimed it took from commercial banks to facilitate the contract, the NPA management has stated repeatedly that it is not a party to any of such. Between January 2010 and September 2016, INTELS collected about $1.295 billion under the agreement. Out of this amount, INTELS remitted only $343.35 million to the NPA. The rest of the revenue was kept in INTELS accounts which it earns interests from. Therefore, servicing its debt obligations should be the least of its worries.

Another point raised by forces loyal to INTELS cause to instil fear in the minds of Nigerians over this agreement termination is that it will generate crisis in the capacity of commercial banks to provide loans for business investments. This point is as baseless as the one used by some people to argue against the TSA policy. It is far from ideal that the ability of commercial banks to provide loans to businesses be dependent on harbouring government revenue within their coffers. Extending credit facilities to companies doing business in Nigeria will always be a profitable venture for commercial banks as long as due diligence is followed.

Another side to the debate is, what happens to the Badagry Seaport Project which is being handled by INTELS? This is clearly an attempt to conflate issues as the relationship between INTELS and NPA extends beyond the terminated pilotage agreement. If INTELS decides to abandon the project, there are other companies, both indigenous and foreign, with the technical ability to continue it. The comprehensive efforts at improving the ease of doing business in Nigeria through the seaports is not limited to the potentials of the Badagry Seaport. This much has reflected in the NPA posting a revenue of N118 billion in the first quarter of 2017 alone when the same agency generated less than N12 billion in the whole of 2015.

The relationship of government with business entities under public-private partnerships are defined by the extant laws and regulations. Public-private partnerships are valid as drivers of economic growth only when such offer mutual benefits for both the private sector players involved and the people. In the case of this INTELS agreement, the government is being denied much-needed revenue needed to finance capital projects and provide social amenities that will benefit millions of citizens.

Holding the threat of laying off the acclaimed 10,000 (some even claim 50,000) employees in its workforce over the government’s head is cheap blackmail on INTELS’ part. The last time INTELS remitted any revenue from the pilotage agreement to the NPA was September 2016 – over a year ago. You can imagine how much has been collected during that period. By holding government revenue hostage in its accounts, INTELS is already denying millions of Nigerians jobs. Most importantly, the Constitution of the Federal Republic is far more sacrosanct than such menial arguments. After all, Pablo Escobar was one of the largest employers of labour in Colombia in the 1980s.

Lastly, the first letter from the NPA management to INTELS over this agreement was in June 2016. This was after INTELS reduced monthly remittances to the NPA to $3.6 million out of the $12.5 million collected monthly. This issue, therefore, started before President Buhari appointed Hadiza Bala-Usman as Managing Director of NPA. Also note that the NPA management dialogued with INTELS over the non-compliance with TSA policy for 14 months before the agreement was terminated.

Should President Buhari have overlooked such immense revenue drain simply because his party man’s company is involved? That would have been a breach of the oath he took to always uphold the Constitution and serve the interests of the masses he was voted in to lead.

Common sense should tell you that only govt money belongs in the TSA and that is the 72 percent strictly ...So when is your govt going ask Chevron to also remit the entire 100 percent of revenue of their Joint venture into the TSA instead of the 60 percent they have been paying ? The truth can't be hidden and let's call this what it is A F#cking witch hunt .
Argh...the witch hunt card is always evergreen. Keep playing it.

When the TSA started, some stakeholders brought up genuine reasons why they should be exempted. Their cases were critically reviewed and those that hold water were excluded. Some banks got waivers to exceed the 48hrs window before remittance. That is the ideal way of doing things. If you have a genuine case why a govt policy will affect operations negatively, you bring up your case. It is reviewed and waivers granted where necessary. You don't flaunt govt policies becuase one of your board of directors is a politician.

But then, you know better than we all. It's either witch-hunting or nothing.
Bros,

Abeg de look am. He wants to twist logic. Where was he when NPA has been engaging Intels since 2015/16 and Intels refused to bulge? Until NPA sought legal advise from the Attorney-General's office.

Talking about merit and exemption, I think Intels tried to play that strategy but their excuse had no weight. NPA simply argued that they be held liable in cases of late payment of Intel's %age.

One thing that is instructive is that on Intel's side, the played a bad strategy card and did not realise it until it was too late. No wonder Mr. Volpi in his apology had this to say

I was not personally involved in the negotiations with NPA, but we apologise for what has happened.

“We intend to comply with the directive of government and transfer all the revenue to the TSA because we are a law-abiding company,”
This to me is the only person on Intel's side that saw the futility of their "agidi"

Stop being Deceitful man , (1)at no time has Intels domiciled pilotage fees in their account , every kobo of govts 72 percent is always remitted into the TSA so stop trying to call a nun a witch so just you can hunt her ...and is pilotage primarily revenue collection move or a service, (2)for your info Pilotage is a service that requires a lot skills from the crew of the piloting vessel and it take a lot of experience to get it done right, for your info again (3)pillage is not compulsory for all vessel except the request for the service or the exceed the tonnage deemed unsafe for self piloting into our narrow waterways ( if you have ever been on a cruise ship you will know what I mean ). Stop lying Intels is not like Tinubus Alpha Beta which is a revwnue collectiion agency .
1. What is the meaning of this your contradictory statement? Intels collects Pilotage revenues on behalf of NPA/FG, so which account was it paid to initially?

2. Tell that to the marines. What have you stated here that is rocket science? Why would they be in pilotage business if they don't comit to doing that?
3. Are you tell us anything new here?

4. So in the context of our discussion and bye and large, what else does Intels do exactly? (and pls save me of the gibberish - skill-set and business models investment nonsense)

Excellent thesis. But if the compliance rules suggests the govt gets its cut while the collecting agency keeps it share, then it's viz-a-via the same thing we're talking about. We don't know the details, i simply suggested paying 100% to the govt directly is not safe given the opposition stance of the administration with its " enemies", if the agency keep its share, then its not a problem..However the whole revenue collection thing to me, i've always frowned at it, as cheap fraud, and entities created to make some people wealthy at the expense of the govt, soi'm not supporting either parties, and can boldly say i don't care
1. Your last statement for me makes you loose the credibility on your earlier argument. Is this about two sides to you or what is objectively in the interest of Nigeria? Is this about opposing parties, when the TSA was signed into law by GEJ?

2. What compliance rules are you talking about when a constitutional directive has superseded that?

3. Paying 100% of govt monies into govt account not safe? I refuse to make sense of that; but that said, why did Intels reject NPA's proposal that, if there is a breach in the proposed payment terms, govt will be liable to pay penalties

4. If you believe this contract was a cheap fraud ab-initio and rightly so, why then do you oppose moves to correct the "ridiculous fraud". If you frowned at revenue agencies collecting "mamoth" of interests, suspicion of non-remittances, why do you
"boldly say i don't care"
in this regard?

This is something...every company has quota they must remit to the govt, i'm aware the Chevron, govt sharing formular is 60-40...But asking a company to pay 100% to the company is morally wrong and a breach of agreement...If the govt decides on remitting the company's fund way later than when due, will such company not collapse?

This worries me...It's a clear witch hunt to use bbackdoor strategy to kill a company
This is where you guys reason amiss. The pilotage agreement is as comparable to those "consultacy-fee agencies" governors paid large percentages on their share of the Paris-club refund. Govt can as well decide not to use any agency to collect pilotage and start his own Pilotage firm. Pilotage are fees paid to the government for using our waterways bringing in heavy duty vessels and good. That money technically belongs to FG 100% and Intels is just a collecting agency, so they are supposed to be paid their agency fees. Why twist logic the other way round? State government have used agencies in collecting their revenues and no state will ever allow his revenue to first go into an agencies account before going into the state's purse

The issue is not that Intels hasn't been paying into the TSA, they have been paying but only Paying 72 percent which is actually the govts share while they retain their own 28 percent but now the Buhari govt is saying Intels should pay the whole 100 percent into the TSA but this is morally and technically wrong because in actuality only govt earnings should go into the TSA and that's 72 percent ..Just Imagine the govt telling it's joint venture partners chevron who they have a 60:40 sharing agreement to pay the entire 100 percent earning for oil into the TSA ..But in reality Chevron only remits the govts 60 percent to her and keeps it's 40 percent..If this is not a witch hunt ask yourself why has the Govt not asked it's JV partners in the oil industry to do same
Like someone said earlier, you're overestimating your level of intelligence. This your comparing apples and oranges is useless. Is Chevron a collecting agency on behalf of FG in the JV arrangement? And for your information, the government has exited cash-call payment for JV capital operations, so in Chevron's case, Chevron looks for money, explore, produce, sell, back out capex and opex, then the profit is shared. In some cases, the whole money is escrowed and a trading company manages the distribution of the monies. In some cases govt (NNPC) owns some of the trading company (e.g. Duke Oil in UK). The upstream business model is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from pilotage contract arrangement

Some problems will arise here though.
1. Insufficient teachers
2. Doesn't this cause some inconsistency with WAEC which gives stidents a chance to choose? Perhaps they intend to make it compulsory in class but when applying for WAEC, students can drop it but it will increase the workload of students
3. In Unis, it should not carry any unit but it must be passed.

My thoughts anyway
Insufficient teachers ke? There are many Yoruba teachers looking for schools to teach.

It can be made one of the compulsory to be written in waec, if not students will not take the subject serious.

It is a very good development by the Lagos State Government.
Madam,

See how you made the same counter-argument as I did in fewer words

I bow.

The foolishness of these internet rats continues.

I am yet to see an Easterner that is anti-integration. They have always been known to be masters in the language of the native populations. So what is the difference?

It is mostly Muslims that oppose integration.
Why are you bringing easterners and Muslims into this conversation? Are you trying to be divisive?
There are many northerners, westerners, middle belters, even foreigners like togolese, nigèriens who speak the languages of their host states/countries and do it well.
Even Pakistanis for Peckham London dey speak Yoruba cheesy.
Most of these groups mentioned are Muslims, yet they have also integrated well into the communities they live in. Even Aliko/Sani Dangote, Atiku speak Yoruba and they are northerners and Muslims.
Someone is irredeemably daft and "clannish bigot", yet you're asking her if she's trying to be divisive?

Some problems will arise here though.
1. Insufficient teachers - ......and you came to this conclusion based on what stats?
2. Doesn't this cause some inconsistency with WAEC which gives stidents a chance to choose? Perhaps they intend to make it compulsory in class but when applying for WAEC, students can drop it but it will increase the workload of students - WAEC conditions is made subservient to this.
3. In Unis, it should not carry any unit but it must be passed. - It cannot be made effectual if it does not carry any grade. Whatever makes "General Studies" a graded course in universities, should make Yoruba a graded course in the higher institution. Once it crosses the rubicon and it's made compulsory in University, then students know they cannot graduate or their grades will be affected

My thoughts anyway
Finally, what you've just put up are challenges along the way. The overarching objective still subsist. If we want to preserve and promote our heritage, our history and posterity, foothold and power.....then issues of WAEC, grades etc are inconsequential to the big picture

how can one join my brother. And what does it require
I think the easiest entry is through the FADAMA project. Depends on your location and how the coorperative is run. Run can run a search and get the one closest to you. I think aside from joining fees and some other initial cost (like 25k), the other depend on how many "slots" can legally and you want to take.

Run a google search on many of the registered FADAMA cooperatives

My brother, I was trying to bring to notice the injustice and favoritism in our one Nigeria that should addressed by the authorities. Unless we desire to go back to the 1963 regional government were the regions as autonomous entities get different advantages base on their negotiating power. Which was not frown at by any region cos that was one of the bases for the union.
.....but, give it to CBN led by Emefiele and BOI, this agric scheme is sincere and sustainable. There is no injustice in this agric scheme. Why don't you go via the coorperative and join one. I am about to join a cooperative after having done my findings. Do you know that with 120k minimum contribution in your cooperative, you can cycle out both in cash and products within a span of 3-4months, then "recycle" the same process. Govt contributes 70% of the funding, off-take the products, so your cooperative don't have to worry about sales and logistics.

Commercial agric credit scheme is another scheme different from Bank of Ndustries loan scheme bro. It's a loan given to sole entrepreneurs who already have small scale businesses they manage.
Then you are using something entirely different to address the context of a report. This article talks about Commercial Agric Credit Scheme. You are the one confusing things

What you do is post supposed achievements of your government employers to make gullible people believe they are performing and check on threads to support and bully anyone who sees through the deceit.

You are a useless cursed paid e-rat and you are worse than trash. You stink
Unfortunately for you, what I do here is what you can never phantom, understand or competently engage in. What I do here is simply share ideas intelligibly and hope to gain value from opposing idea (that are of value).

You, I believe are the one ignorant buffoo.ns on this platform who should be a by-stander but choose to engage in discussion beyond your intellectaul capability.
