That's a painful one .

Losing a wife in childbirth.

Not to childbirth, but to the incompetence of some scums.

Report them to Nigeria medical association, they risk having their license revoked.

Sue their asses.

Yes, state government is involved, but the state controls only one court, the high court, should they manipulate it at that level, you still have two more that is outside of their reach.
Islam › Re: Pictures And Hanging Animate Pictures! by mariovito(m):
Why is Islam against artistic expressions?

Under shari'ah, poetry, music, movies, painting, drawing are all usually outlawed. Why is it so?

I find it confusing seeing that as far back as the 15th century, Europeans were coming to Africa (Timbuktu) Mali to study at the Madrasas which are Islamic universities.

Is it right to say that Islam in the earlier times was more progressive than it is now?

Until someone takes it out of the country for laboratory analysis just like the fanta case in UK.

Imagine na akwobeghi beans maimai ana esi.

If Malaysia, a country with some standards discovered that their noodles is carcinogenic, what do you expect from a Nigeria?

Well, I i guess our noodles will remain "safe" as long as we didn't test them.

Good luck to them.

Nigeria need to do better when it comes to politician worshipping.

If this were to occur in Nigeria, I can bet you that nothing will happen to them.

I know the UK may want to use them as a deterrent to others, so the highest prescribed punishment may be reached for.

I thought respect for elders is sacrosanct in those parts?

After I watched one short video where a guy pulled a jiu jitsu move on someone in the street and killed him cold, I made the decision to by all means avoid fights, brawls and altercations.

Also, though unpopular, I do not meddle in people's fights or try to be peace maker, every adult has the faculty to choose between right and wrong. So if an adult chooses to go into a rage, hell no way I'm playing UN.

Same thing with a woman in an abusive relationship, except you expressly call for my help, I'll never be caught doing the work of onyeoma Eliza.

Gun issues in america is small compared to gun issues in Nigeria if Gun would have been legalized in Nigeria.
Learn to use your tenses appropriately.

"Is" is used when describing or relating to something still ongoing.

In this case, it has not even happened yet in Nigeria, guns have not been legalized.

So the appropriate word to use here is : Gun issues in america *would be* small compared to gun issues in Nigeria if...

Trash as usual. We grew up with Joe, Aerosmith, Kc & jojo, Aaliyah, TLC, Brandy, R.Kelly, Naughty by Nature, real music. Some are growing up with this as an example of music. Today's mainstream music, both Nigerian and foreign is without finesse and refinement and it is such a pity today's youths are growing up exactly that way.

From the video, they're four cops. The fourth guy will be thanking his stars that he didn't fire his weapon.

Even though the act is despicable, the punishment is rather too harsh, suspension and/or demotion in rank would have been just fine.

Except the force wants to use them as a deterrent to other officers in the habit of trowaying in the air for VIPs.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Alban Bagbin, Ghana's Speaker, Slams Kamala Harris For Canvassing Gay Rights by mariovito(m): 9:29am On Mar 30, 2023
Kobonaire4:
On gay rights.

1.Kamala is not adressing Africans, she is addressing Americans back at home. She already knows we won't listen to her. But she wants to be able to tell her American countrypeople that 'At least I stood up for human rights in darkest Africa...I faced them down and defeated them'

2.Western leaders should realize that most Africans do not like being dictated to. It is because of years of western leaders coming to tell us that we are evil for not accepting LGBTQ rights that LGBTQ rights are not making progress in Africa.

Did anyone come to the US to tell them to accept gay rights? No, their activists did the job of educating Americans that a man marrying another man does not affect them, and overtime step by step, rights were guaranteed. Had someone from Russia come to the US in 1987 and told them that they must accept gay rights , the US would have still been a homophobic country.

Look, people do not like being told how to live. In 2004, a British newspaper asked people to write to a certain American small town and tell them to vote for John Kerry instead of GW Bush in the upcoming election...an American town that had voted democrat for centuries. The result....a safe democrat area voted Republican for the first time....(and democrat leaders wept).

3.All the same, we Africans should not bother about gay people and what they do or not do. All gay people want is the right to live in peace. Personally, I regard homosexual behaviour as a sin, but gay people are not asking me to change my belief, they are mostly asking for the right to live unmolested and at peace, and not to be judged by their orientation. If we can meet at a middle road, then there is nothing wrong with granting gay people legal protections. If however, gay people suddeny start saying that they must change long established religious tenents, or force their way into churches and mosques to do their thing...then we can appropriately say no to them, since I won't be standing in front of any gay person's house or gathering shouting 'All of you are evil'.

4.That said, we should all learn to live in peace with each other. LGBTQ people should also relaize that unfortunately people are not good.. But they should also have the protection of the law if they are beaten up for being gay, or not rented to, or prevented from getting a job, or so forth.

5.But at the same time, force or talking down to people should not be used to force LGBTQ rights down our throats. After all, no one forced down gay rights down the West's throat, and the West won't like it if we came and forced things like polygamy, female circumcision and tribal marks down their throats too.
You seem to have a brilliant piece here, but I'll beg to digress.
1. You mentioned "Orientation". What does orientation mean? Simply means directing ones thought or cognitive resources towards a thing. While I do not have all the facts on what makes a person gay, I do understand that it can be learnt as a habit. You see it being done, you see gay people around and soon you accept it as a normal, soon you have no problems experimenting with it.
It still beats me how most recent movies and shows have unnecessary gay scenes in them.

2. Kids who's mind are almost tabula rasa absorb information and data at an alarming rate. Little kids being bombarded with this negative information soon will have it ingrained in them and won't have any qualms trying it out or orienting themselves in that direction.

3. Society is a sum total of the actions of every individual in that society. I do not need to emphasize or overemphasize the role healthy heterosexual orientation and relationships play in balancing a society.

4. Other than the economic opportunities and fortune in the West and America (which we all know how it came about) there's nothing else to be desired in those societies as it stands.

5. And why do the West and America have to always come to tell us what to do?

6. They told our parents to quit marrying multiple wives but stick to one as it's bad and offends their God they sold to us.

7. Now they're coming to tell us that it's okay for a man to marry a man and a woman a woman.

8. Do we have to always do as told?
