I find it hard to understand why someone will lock him/herself into the ball and chain of marriage if children are out of the question. That is unnecessary stress. I understand partnerships. I need more research into the mindset of these folks.

Also, when a client is arrested at the Police station, first step is to apply for administrative bail at the Police station level. It'll not help your case if at the Court, the Police informs the court that you did not even make a bail application at the Police station, or still, they can claim they already granted your client bail but you and your client failed to meet the bail condition/s

If same is refused by the police authorities, then you can proceed to a court of competent jurisdiction to apply for your clients release which can be either through a writ of habeas corpus, enforcement of fundamental rights of client, or the very popular bail application.

For me, I prefer the Fundamental rights enforcement route because it has more robust backing by law. The Constitution is behind it, and it also has its own procedural statute; the Fundamental Rights Enforcement Procedure Rule. Also, applying through this route is a multi faceted approach as you can ask for more beyond the release of a client, any provision of Chapter 4 of the constitution that you feel has been trampled upon can be included in this application unlike a bail application that seeks only the release of a client stricto sensu.
