I am inspired. its no mean feat. effects of good genes and good parental/family direction. |
@amatalk, simply walk up to your HR Dept and ask If they have no response, is there no one in the accounts dept/person who handles pay/salary matters that can give you an explanation. It is illegal for an organisation to deduct wages without consultation/explanations to affected staff. Make enquiries first. if you had already made enquiries before coming on this page without a positive note then all of you as a combined body need to approach management about it. I still believe you guys should have an insider in accounts who can give you an explanation. P.S. Don't you receive payslips. Good luck |
I know the place and it is presently inhabited though sparsely. You need to be mobile to live there as it is a long trek from the road. It is a reclaimed area and will require sand filling. I didn't go deep inside to know if they sand filled all the plots for the potential buyers or they just sell the land and buyer sandfills. I can confirm that it is a soil/land that will require special foundation. cheers. hope this helps. |
Radio/Tv licences fall under the jurisdiction of LGA and there was a time way back in the 70s and 80s when they collected them. If it applies to residences I can't say but I do know that business premises pay for such. Make enquiries in ur area to see who else got it. U know our govts, they wake up one day, remember a law, dust it up and swing into overdrive esp. When it is a revenue generating law. |
Very interesting topic. takes me back to the days when i actually learnt new things by visiting nairaland. I always wondered who Ladi Kwali was. I even thought it was a man and i never really took note of the woman at the back of the N20 note. i looked at it whilst reading sha. Nice write up. |
Went for mine in January 2013, did the test and followed the whole process. was given a temporary license that expired in March. I went back there and they keep telling me that I should use it like that and if i am stopped I should show the officer my processing papers. I've been there twice to date trying to get someone to write an extension date or stamp something on it as a more valid proof of extension but they keep refusing so i am using it like that. the whole process(like most things in Nigeria ) is designed to frustrate people and get money out of citizens. Why start what they do not have the capacity to finish. its all a racket. By the way, i went to the VIO/FRSC office in Ikeja beside the Ikeja court. |
In the 1st few years of my marriage, I used to tell my hubby almost everything. After he used some of the info I had revealed to him to insult me after arguments, since then I watch my communications and know what and what to discuss. 18 years down the line that's how we roll. I see so many posts on marriage/relationships with each spouting their words of wisdom. I say to each his/her own. I judge no ones r/ship style/method. You know ur partner so u know how to manage it.I have learnt to manage communication in my relationship and its fine for me.Summary - Open Communication not for me. |
When I watch hollywood films I normally read the credits and I have noticed quite a few yoruba looking names e.g the shorter black soldier that was talking to Lincoln in the film LIncoln. They are in the foreign film industry just that they don't get major roles. Kudos to her. |
Congrats to Moses, tho i didn't vote . Did anyone listen to his personal victory composition which he sung at the end. Methinks that the song can be touched up and used as a victory song , the same way everyone now uses "stand up (2ce) for the champions (2ce)stand up. I personally felt the song was good for a novice - clean lines, good transition of verses, lines that made sense. He should copyright it and commercialize it. |

Hello House, pls does anyone know Kingdom Realities Limited? Can anyone vouch for them. Tks to help a land novice. There office is at 154 Awolowo Way, ikeja. |
@trinity u shud have sued them. It is illegal to sack a woman on maternity leave. So many pple don't know the law and those who know don't want 'wahala'. |
I was Never beaten as a child, only scolded - my mother tells me I was a very reasonable child. With my kids , I beat ... Not often but only after I have exhausted all talking. The important thing is balance. My kids know they are loved. |
Job hunting from so far is not practical. Few employers will foot the cost of your coming south for an interview and how often will u take permission to travel for jobs u aren't even sure of getting. Unless u are being 'head hunted' it won't happen. Gusau is too far out. My advice: move, give yourself a timeline to save(the north is a cheap place to stay in compared to the south) then put in ur resignation and move back south.by the way why r u househunting when they r d ones sending u there? Also forget the ride - that is how they tie pple down . Anyway good lu. ck at the end the decision is ur's to makem |
I only read pages 1,2 &10 and I so agree with @northsharp. Being an alumnus myself I think the name doesn't sit well besides so many things eg streets, buildings, poly have been named after the guy. If LASU was not named after him, why LAG. This in my opinion is a cheap meaningless political ploy. I hope it gets overturned in d near future. On a lighter note - contracts galore for the printers, web designers et al. Up Jona - u never cease to dissapoint me.Shior |
Up Chelsea, even tho Bayern were the better side. I'm happy for Roman who threw money around for it, for Drogba - after CAF dissapointment he really deserves it, going out on a high. I see him still with them next season, for Torres - he's part of a winning side at last, for our Mikel - he too has a CL medal in short congrats , the futbol word is BLUE. Last words, poor Tottenham. that Manuel Neur the BM keeper is an ADONIS |
Hello all, does anyone know where i can get these comics. growing up i read them all and now i have kids would like them to read them too. if you do have a collection or can direct me to someone who does pls reply this post. |
Second niger bridge again .... i am tired of this issue that like a bad penny wont go away. in my opinion, this 2nd bridge issue has become the carrot that all govts dangle before the igbos and they too keep falling for it. cant the governors of the region collaborate and do it e.g on a BOT arrangement, place a toll on it to recoup part of their investment, and then badger the FGN for a refund of state money on a federal(?) project. i pray i see that bridge constructed in my lift time As for the issue of dredging i must say that the dudu negro guy has a point - it'll amaze you how waterway issues cause friction between countries. i cant remember which country wanted to the Nile and Egypt threatened war over it |
I also felt the ad was not well put together. He had obviously crammed his lines and was rushing. If u aren't paying attention you might not follow what he's saying. Given its an MTN ad, I expected better. |
i have come to discover one thing in marriage - never seek to judge what goes on in other peoples marriages. every couple has their issues and for every action there is a reaction. everyone tells the story from their own angle - by the time you ask the wife you will be amazed that there is more to it than meets the eye. i believe every couple knows how to live with each other within their relationship. i make no judgements. now as for me personally, i am not a shouting person . in my relationship i have let my spouse know what is unacceptable to me and once he crosses the line he knows what to expect - to each their own. |

i learnt that in US this is how the plea bargaining works. : it is only after everything they identified as having been acquired outside what could be your legitimate income is returned that they now begin to talk about a lighter sentence. this is the way to go. the onus is on the thief to return everything first before they even begin any negotiation. - could someone shed more light. |
I wont get into posting brick bats with you. pls go get a life and allow those who are interested to apply. You dont know me neither do you know my antecedents or what i stand for. all you internet crusaders, sitting in the front of laptops spewing all manner of venom yet doing nothing to make your portion of the globe a better place. . anyway whats your beef been turned down cos you are ugly , sorry , couldn't resist this quip. signing off |
if you have nothing to say, then don't. its not compulsory to post for postings sake. if you can read it said : it is desirable but not compulsory. i recruit and i find that pictures help you put a face to the person. Even when we don't pick the person at first, we do not throw away CVs . we sometimes have a need to recall some of the cvs as other openings open us and by then we may have forgotten the person. The picture helps remind us. i dont really know why i am taking the time to explain this, maybe for the sake of other persons. for your information, responses have started coming in , some with pixes and some without ! |

As a recruiter of labour, i have come to see that employment possibilities are a function of the job description for the role and not strictly based on gender. some jobs are female friendly e.g front end type jobs( personal assistants, client service). at times even in accounts females may be preferred because of a woman's perceived lesser preponderance for graft. in male oriented jobs eg engineering , architecture - a male may have the edge unless it is a desk job or a client facing one. i believe it is really a function of the job description. where none of the above is at play i would say females because they tend to be less likely to change jobs at the drop of a hat or rock the boat. |
Thank you d_baba |
