I agree with all of you. when the water one happens i offer to pay for an extra bucket of water The one that constantly annoys me is the fact that i am yet to meet one that can relax only the undergrowth! they always want to comb right out to the ends further weakening already relaxed hair. i saw it done once and it was a Ghanaian male hairdresser - he was so good. He would relax your hair perfectly and not one drop of relaxer would touch the ends! one should also check the class of hairdressers in the salon or is it the locality within which is is situated - all these also count for something. |
I can at least tell you the one i hate - Channels sports with that Toyin guy. all they do is yak, yak, yak and they don't show any decent pictures or they just show you some old outdated pictures - they can be talking about niger argentina match and be showing you tennis ![]() |
Abati has always been someone i admired. i followed his articles back then - so satirically funny all these stories about him come as a surprise to me but what has dissapointed me is his acceptance to be an SA. is he an SA, SSA or what. was he not one of those who complained of bloated portfolios and now he has joined them. well we are watching. X-factoria, you forgot the recent brouhaha at Punch with Azubuike Isiekwene as the Tafa Balogun mouthpiece , |
Posted by: VALIDATOR Insert Quote Reading many comments on this thread makes it easier for me to see why fraud and corruption lingers in this country. You are here calling her a "bad looser" but do you know that her remarks are enough to make people start watching the judgments more closely in the future? And as a result better result eventually announced? In all honesty I do not see why a person who could not answer her questions properly should emerge winner. When will Nigerians ever understand that merit swept to the background is one of the reasons for our backwardness? GBAM GBAM GBAM Does anyone recall when Miss Ireland won Miss World, people were up in arms because her father Chris De Burgh who sang "Lady in Red(is dancing with me)" was a judge. this led to an overhaul of some aspects of the judging. it is our "i leave it for God mentality " that is getting us nowhere. If the female suffragettes, ML King , test tube baby people et al had left it for God, where would we be in the world. Was it not the poor scoring and complaints in the olympics gymnastics that led to an overhaul in the scoring system. I didn't watch it, my mum did and she gave the whole thing ( stage craft, glitz, razzmatazz etc a thumbs down and couldn't understand how the winner won. |
Reference you hit the nail on the head. we keep on saying cement, cement as if it is only cement they use to build a house. in fact putting up the basic structure is not the issue it is the finishing that will kill you especially sanitary wares. windows etc. what will they do of Omo onile who charge you at every major stage : foundation, decking, roofing, putting up your wall and gate , i tire for this country .as for documents to show true and complete possession let us not even go there so this 1.5 thing i am waiting |
Amya:This is why you get so many Anambra girls marrying late and marrying often below them, read traders or in arranged or parceled marriages. I can marry from anywhere . |

This is one area that grieves me seriously. Where are the woman's relatives? where are her church members? do they subscribe to this nonsense. Working as an HR person i have seen many cases of male employees dying and their relatives flocking around like vultures on top of their entitlements. I have always been able to ensure that the dead employees wives are not shortchanged in that area - educating my male colleagues on the next-of- kin issue etc. you see men going about forming , not telling their people that their wives are contributing and leading the family to believe it is all about them and so that is what the family believes so when the man dies they rush in making all manner of useless claims. this is why you see women of means sometimes building their own on the side - to avoid this kind of issue. i recall an incident when my hubbies brother came and saw some chairs and wanted to know if he could have them - i laughed. u never saw those chairs with your brother till he married me (and they are obviously worn)and now he believed that they belong to his brother !!!! This gave me an insight into the kind of pple i could be up to if anything happened. In fairness to my hubby he doesn't allow his people get into our business but you never know. when the man is gone relatives can be funny anyways they all know that i am not one to be toyed with and i know that my family and church have got my back big time Sometimes if the family is demonic and u would have known that in the course of the marriage you may just have to leave if you are not into juju yourself. I hope the agencies involved in her case can be of assistance. |
Most don't as already stated. Does anyone remember Asterix and Obelix, Tintin, Archie, Safest Hands in Soccer (a footie mag) and all the marvel comics to mention a few. i read them all. As a mother, i buy Super Strikas for my boys and they love it. Once the concept , picture quality , story line , distribution and price are good, people will buy into it sooner or later. |
I don't understand what all the beef is. he is one of those people who bald quickly - like Prince William who you can see is already thinning on the top of his head and they aren't even 30 yrs yet. if he can afford it why not - whats the big deal. I'm not a fan of cosmetic surgery but if you can afford it and feel it will enhance you or boost your confidence or whatever - why not. |
Another thing Ajimobi should focus on is the provision of water. water has always been an issue in ibadan. my friends back in UI always complained about it. this is another area he should focus on. |
After reading all these comments, I can see that the process is not for the lily-livered well I chicken out but if anyone ever picks up the gauntlet you have my"signature " . |
violent:Thank you violent. it is a thought that has always crossed my mind though i must admit that the thought of getting one half of registered voters is daunting like they say information/knowledge is power |
Hello house, i have always wondered how this can be done. is there anyone in the house who is aware of any law enabling recall that can tell me how one can go about it. I'm seriously thinking that this is an option to be looked at. instead of voting and then stomaching 4 years of mediocrity pending when we can vote again, constituents should put the fear of recall into the hearts of their reps. In brief; How can i recall my representative ? |
There is nothing to handle. it is always tough here where we are so fixated on age. the important thing is to respect oneself and the other party will automatically accord you same. Obey office rules and protocol, show yourself to be competent, do not argue unnecessarily or try to "show yourself'. turn yourself into a dependable and reliable ally and the sky will be the limit. I had of a colleague who was to work under an expat lady who was way younger than him. they just couldn't get along ( they both had their individual egos and other issues). he was transferred and another lady was sent to her who was also older. they got on swimmingly to the point where the boss was recommending her for raises, trainings, showing her everything and when she had to leave she actually recommended her subordinate for promotion to her position! So wisdom is the principal thing |
i recall when IBB raised this issue of limiting children to 4/family , people sniffed and asked if it is 4 children per man or 4 children per woman .i do find that most of today's middle class couples limit their kids to between 2 -3. i think the economic realities and the desire for a good quality of life are and will continue to be major factors as well as the fact that more and more people are marrying later . I have 3 and meeennnn it is tough - food, education, clothes, medicals not to talk of the effizy side - CD's, DVDs, Mr Biggs, Waterparks etc . some argue that they can have as many as they want as long as they are not asking govt for money to train them and then they will have 10 and when they will all grow and you will expect them to have jobs, use the infrastructure that was earmarked for x nos of people - then you will complain that govt cannot provide basic needs. this is why the whites dont always like we african, arabs, asians etc. we come to their countries, breed like rabbits ![]() |
Seein this thread got me interested and the stories here are a horror. I just started using DM in 2010 and ironically it has been good for my hair. i use the leave in treatment and conditioner ( the one you set your hair with) , the 2in1 dandruff shampoo and conditioner as well as the relaxer. i don't use the whole gamut of their products. the only thing i noticed is that the relaxer doesn't relax my hair very well which is ironic as i have fairly light hair and even the lowest strength no-lye can relax my hair completely. But for me so far so good . I must admit that i don't abuse my hair( relaxing then gelling or braiding , one million braids etc) i think most ladies don't allow their hair/scalps rest. they are forever teasing their hair in one way or another. If i retouch and trim in one week , the following week i steam to strengthen the hair, the next week i dye - optional (to hide the grey strands). 2 weeks after dying i fix a weave which i carry for up to 3 - 4 weeks. Luckily i don't have dandruff or scalp problems so my weaves don't itch or smell. |
What exactly do you do in the law firm : are you a lawyer, clerk, office manager etc what are your duties, what courses certifications have you acquired over the years all these can point you in a direction you may want to try. you obviously cant start as a trainee or entry level. whatever the case, your decision should also factor in income, family, job satisfaction. cheers. |
I believe organised labour has lost it way, attacking only the big companies and the MNC's because that's where the money is. instead of insisting only on min. wage they should insist on the provision of alternative welfare packages that will not be eroded by inflation e.g staff buses, medicals. this is why most companies go into JCC with their staff and bypass the unions who pocket your dues and don't do anything. labour is doing nothing about even enforcing the basic laws as they exist talk less of trying to get bills that are favourable to the workers passed. why cant they mobilise against the high tax rates for instance that greatly erode workers income. Labour relations have come a long way from the days of ALUTA . it now has to be proactive e.g ensuring companies are enforcing all labour friendly policies/bills etc. There are so many ILO convention resolutions to which Nigeria is not a signatory and what is NLC doing about it. |
most big companies do this as a policy. they do not want to have issues later on with employees claiming that the ailment arose during and in the course of employment with them and making claims. some do it in a discretionary way and it depends on the nature of the appointment eg for drivers(vision/hearing/reflexes). |
what does the company hand book say if they have one. if they dont you can discreetly ask older colleagues and find out how it operates there. your fear about seeming desperate is valid but if you need it that badly and feelers put out are positive then ask. you will only get a no. |
Go to NIMR at yaba behind presbyterian church they will assist you greatly. call Pastor on 08023705931. |
I have always wondered why our govt cannot look into alternative sources e.g solar and wind in the north, wind and hydro in the southeast/southsouth as alternative means of power generation . The dutch used wind generated power, the Congolese use hydro generated power. why cant we harness all these alternative sources. i am not a technical person but let the experts come out with ideas. |
