Calling on property sellers. Can anyone tell me how much a plot of land goes for in Arepo - Ogun State, the settlement just after Warewa. Are there estate type arrangements there that one can buy into and pay instalmentally. Pls i need to know? Thanks for your responses. |
Do you do roof repairs. My roof was badly done and i cant afford to redo it as recommended. In fact i am still paying off the loan used to bring it to its current living status. i am looking for the advice of an expert so as to make an informed decision going forward. |
The man did a noble and commonsensical thing. It has severally crossed my mind that when i die (and my body isnt disease ridden) that i will donate my body to medical science - of what need do i have for it in the hereafter. afterall the body rots and our spirits return to our creator. i had discussed it with my husband and his reaction was typically nigerian - GOD FORBID. It reminds me of my uncle who died in england waiting for a kidney on NHS. His son, my coz, told me that he overheard an orderly saying that it is black people that want body parts but never want to donate theirs. I hope more and more people do this - that way we will create a body parts bank or whatever. |
@emuchuo, pls go to the area and check it out if you havent. The recent opening of the Oyan Dam along with one dam at ibadan with the attendant flooding really opened my eyes and some of those lands have been sold to people In fact, the time to check the locality out is now, since the water is just beginning to recede, you will still see the telltale traces of flooding. Take care. |
I have noticed a certain trend among igbos outside the "core" ( whatever that means ) eastern states never wanting to be called igbo.Their names, culture and even language are obviously igbo and yet when you ask them what is your tribe, they say i am Delta Igbo, Rivers Igbo and all what not. Could someone pls explain this to me. |
All you posters, why always negative and salacious comments full of innuendos. She is under strain and stress. haven't you noticed that the athletes look so pretty/handsome when you see them on the podium - so different from when they are actually running, jumping etc. If you were to see a pix of her in relaxation mode she would look younger/prettier. Besides haven't you met people who look younger/older than their ages?? Pls give us a break. ![]() |
Its in all the nigerian dailies. read guardian and this day |
House located at Ibafo, Ogun State. the town just after Magboro. |
Gone with the wind ![]() could never stand those phones. no privacy. you're making your call and everyone is obviously listening meanwhile the person immediately after you is practically in the booth with you |
@maturedman, thanks a lot. will give give him a call. |
I dont think there's any programme i couldn't do without watching but some of my faves are: WWTBAM - very educative. i am knowledge inclined and it tests the limits of my knowledge while learning new things Maltina Dance all - i like the way families come 2gether to dance(mum and kids, dad and sons etc) which is a rare occurrence in our culture Project Fame - like the music even tho i don't vote. Only time i did was cos my mum asked me to vote 4 Nyanya on her behalf Teju Babyface show - like the governors interview slot |
I would really like to see the wife/mother swap one. i watched it when STV aired it and it was really interesting. seeing how people live, their values, principles etc it would be fun in a country as diverse as ours. |
U mean he overtook a whole convoy of cars (whether front or back) and came to ram into GEJ's car ![]() or could it be that he came from an adjoining street - the incident defies logic. Our security sef, do they think someone who wants to kill GEJ will be that dumb ![]() all they have to do are: hire a sniper, install a bomb in a place he will be, give him poisoned tea or apple ' parcel bomb (no out of fashion), etc etc |
Hello NLanders. I need some assistance. I roofed my house back in Dec 2009. I packed in , in June 2010. Fortunately we didn't have money to do the ceiling before packing in (landlord wahala - u know the gist )With the rains we have discovered that the house leaks - not too badly but enough to be an inconvenience. Can anyone help me by recommending a good roofing expert who can repair a bad job at a reasonable price. It is a 9 room bungalow and i used roofing sheets. pls give me the contacts of the said people so i can contact them to discuss further |
I moved to my own building at Ibafo (Isefu Eledede area) mid July. we do not have light in the whole area. there has been no light for over a year there. when i asked i was told that the transformer developed a fault and since then nothing. several trips to nepa/phcn have not yielded fruit. the area that i know that has light has some big men with their companies who are using their connections for their area ( even there, the light is erratic). As far as i am concerned PHCN is not working. there is nothing lucky about goodluck. most of you posters are in the main cities. i have coal and stove iron. we use gen everyday from about 7 to 1030pm. ![]() Anyway, i am still praying. |
Hello Nairalanders, can anyone tell me how to get a book published. My dad wrote a book on self help and communities developing themselves using my village as a case study. He was a champion of village development using self-help methods where the govt does not seem to be willing or capable. i helped him type the manuscript. he's grown old and seems to have lost interest in the whole project not to mention the financial implication. he doesn't seek to do it for gain but more to add the body of knowledge within the country. recently I've considered publishing for him and want to know how to go about it. do you know any publishers that don't charge an arm and a leg or that can do a manuscript etc. I welcome your replies. |
I speak as an HR professional . She should take the offer. Apart from her 1st degree does she have any other post graduate qualifications. Say what you like, an MBA still carries weight no matter how many there are in the market. If perchance she loses her present job, and needs to begin hunting, her first look-in will be her CV and if there is nothing behind her 1st degree despite several years of experience, she will look like someone who is slack in the area of professional development. A glimpse at the ad pages say it all. employers have raised the bar. its now 1st degree, masters, membership of a relevant professional body ( some even add that this should be by qualifying exams. A foreign degree attracts that extra attention to you. While there, 5 months into the end of the course, she could begin job hunting. in fact going abroad will broaden her horizons and she might even branch off into other things. how many years will she save to pay for this kind of opportunity again. i for one would jump at it I think bad belle is worrying the bank. she could try the study leave without pay angle and see if it flies. |
You cant get a job with any serious organisation without an NYSC certificate. The only way people dont serve is they are 30 as at time of call up and then they need to get an NYSC clearance certificate which states exemption on age grounds. Besides, no one knows the future, your lack of a certificate could be a stumbling block in future ( even nigerians abroad come back toservie). If this job is so fantastic, you could defer your NYSC ( i dont know how possible this is but you could find out), do your best on your job and make yourself so indispensable that when you tell them you have to go, they just may be able to hold the job down for you. With internet and laptops, you wont be incommunicado and if its work you can do via PC, it may work. Such arrangements mainly work in small to medium sized companies. You could even suggest unpaid time away if you are that desperate. I met a guy who worked in a multinational that does not give study leave. because he was so good they gave him 18 months study leave to do his masters ( without pay though) along with a rider that he could come back to his job at the end of his course !!! Try my suggestions, nothing ventured, nothing gained. |
I believe they are not relevant. I am with ICSAN and CIPMN. i used to be with NIM till they became a "dugbe" association. every post NYSC graduate is a member !! ICSAN is only really relevant to lawyers which i am not but did it then because i wanted a career change and it was recognised in the commonwealth nations. When i did the exams way back in the early 90's it wasnt specifically a law thing till lawyers hijacked it and insisted that all corporate secretaries who are usually lawyers must have ICSAN. NIM - because i was entering mgt cadre i joined up. i left cos i saw that they just wanted numbers and were marketing every Ngozi, Iyabo and Fatima. they were practically selling their membership like crayfish ![]() I am also a CIPMN member and am an HR practitioner. You can never post a professional enquiry and get a reply. their website is never updated. their HR forum in non-existent. In short, i have gained nothing from them. they all eventually are big boy clubs and the only thing they know how to do is collect subscriptions, levy one thing or another and increase exam fees. Havent you seen how NBA is stealthily becoming, under the guise of modernising, an elitist organisation. Check them out in This Day on Tuesdays. I am purely a member because employers insist on these professional memberships. ![]() |
