Extending a helping hand: Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Barrack Obama during the former’s visit to Washington recently The US gave the money through the US Agency for International Development in a developmental assistance agreement signed by vice president, Yemi Osinbajo and USAID/Nigeria director, Michael Harvey.

The agreement will cover activities aimed at reducing extreme poverty in a more stable and democratic society between 2015 and 2020. These activities Harvey said will stimulate inclusive economic growth, promote a healthier, more-educated population, and strengthen good governance.

“This agreement will provide a solid foundation for our two countries to partner together to reduce inequalities across the country,” Harvey said. The agreement will also align Nigeria’s development plans with sector-specific strategies in various ministries including: health, agriculture, powerand state level government counterparts.

Harvey also commended Osinbajo and the National Planning Commission for their leadership and support of all the activities under the agreement. The suspect who was caught with 3.920kg of methamphetamine drug said a friend gave him N150,000 to traffic the drug to his base in South Africa. He was nabbed on an Ethiopian Airline flight to SA while trying to check in at the departure hall of MMIA airport in Ikeja Lagos.

The arrest of Nigeria’s former minister of petroleum sources, Diezani Alison-Madueke in London is something that have taken Nigerians with surprise even though most Nigerians believed is a matter of time, EFCC will as well come for her. But the arrest was done in London.

Four other Nigerians were said to have been also arrested alongside the ex minister. All were reportedly detained over bribery and corruption related offences currently being investigated by the UK National Crime Agency. Though the other four are yet to be identified by the public.

I read in your page last time about a woman divorced by husband for not having a private part but this testimony will shock you of what God Almighty can do. Her name is Sister Destiny Chimezie from Isiala Ngwa South Local Govt Area in Abia State but residing in Lagos, she was called a boy, her people called her Chimezie (let God correct) which is a male’s name.

The statement further explained that the boat broke into two while in motion before it capsized killing six of the passengers, who were from Kissa, Gadara and Kalangu villages. Six persons have been confirmed dead in a boat accident that occurred on Saturday in a river in Bengaji District of Yabo Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

Confirming the deaths in a statement issued to newsmen in Sokoto on Sunday, Alhaji Mika'ilu Sabo-Yabo, the Assistant Information Officer of the local government, said that the six persons died after the boat they were travelling capsized.

According to the statement, four other passengers of the ill-fated boat survived with minor injuries.

The statement further explained that the boat broke into two while in motion before it capsized killing six of the passengers, who were from Kissa, Gadara and Kalangu villages. "Nobody can tell me what really happened as at now, but further investigations would reveal the real cause of the mishap.

'The deceased have since been buried according to Islamic rites, while the injured persons are responding to treatment at the hospital,' the statement said. A man has charged with murdering his girlfriend admitted to disemboweling her with his bare hands after she twice cried out her ex-husband’s name during sex, police said.
According to a police report, self-confessed “monster” Fidel Lopez said he flew into a drunken rage after she cried out the other man’s name during rough sex inside of their Sunrise apartment’s wardrobe in Florida.

Investigators say the 24-year-old admitted to shattering a sliding glass door, punching holes into a wall and ripping a closet door off its hinges. He then returned to 31-year-old Maria Nemeth, who was lying unconscious on the floor, and proceeded to mutilate her with various objects before using his arms to disembowel her.

Before calling 911 just after 3.30am on Sunday, Lopez said he carried her body to the bathroom and splashed water on her face in an attempt to revive her. He then washed his hands, had a cigarette break outside and called cops to say his lover was not breathing.

Paramedics arrived at the scene to find Lopez sobbing over the woman’s naked body lying in a pool of blood, according to the police report. Ms Nemeth was pronounced dead at the scene less than 30 minutes after Lopez’s initial call to police. In a police interview, Lopez said he and Ms Nemeth had been drinking tequila in their apartment and at some point began to have sex.

You will succeed if only you will heed the Word of God that says: “Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. And those which remain shall hear and fear and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you” (1 Tim. 5:20; Deut. 19: 20).

Former Bayelsa State Governor, Chief Timipre Sylva has described as a deliberate “act of mischief” and “lies” the claims by the Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole that he truncated the electoral process during the disputed governorship primaries of the All Progressive Congress APC in the state.
According to him, though the Edo State Governor was the Chairman of the Election Committee and had left the venue of the primaries, the election which led to his emergence as the flag bearer of the party was free, fair and without violence as claimed by the Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole.

“First, on his request, the primary was shifted from its earlier date of Saturday, September 19 to the Tuesday, September 22 date. The grouse of the delegates was that the primaries had been shifted once on Oshiomhole’s request. That shift caused enough hardship already. The ‘comrade’ was again shifting the goal post, without giving consideration to these hapless delegates. It was that frustration that we were managing. It is so sad that the governor did not appreciate our effort.”Sylva in a statement issued through his Media Adviser, Doifie Bukoribo, Wednesday night said “It is unfortunate that people like Adams Oshiomhole, the governor of Edo State and former president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, who pretend to be incorruptible, would conduct himself in the manner in which he did in relation to the Bayelsa State governorship primary. It was clear that Oshiomhole never wanted to conduct the primary as scheduled.

“Second, as chairman of the APC Electoral Committee, Oshiomhole knew full well that accreditation of delegates was to begin at 8am on Tuesday, September 22, but he came to the venue of the programme well past 12 noon. After he arrived at that late hour, he proceeded with a meeting with the committee members and another meeting with the aspirants. He clearly had preconceived plans about the Bayelsa APC governorship primary.

“Third, Oshiomhole cannot really say anything about the primary election because he had left the venue at the time voting commenced. Oshiomhole set the process in motion for voting to commence before he excused himself on the grounds that he was going to eat, and he mandated other members of the committee to carry on without him.

“The world needs to know that the Bayelsa State Electoral Committee is made up of seven members, and of the seven only Oshiomhole left. The other six remained, conducted the primary and declared Sylva winner of the exercise. “Fourth, it bothers on pettiness for Governor Oshiomhole to quote me as antagonist to new entrants to our party. Every discussion I had with the governor was public.

“The only private conversation I had with him was when he walked up to me and asked me if I truly believed he was working against my interest. To that I answered ‘YES’. As a man of integrity (?) he even offered to step down as chairman. If he had stepped down would that have invalidated the primaries? We should refrain from exaggerating our worth and integrity. Let other good people judge our character.”

“After all, I was the one that received all new entrants. Oshiomole was invited and he did not come.Fifth, Oshiomhole came to Yenagoa with a clear agenda, which was to get me out of the race at all cost. We are aware that he had been lobbying at the centre to get me out of the race in order to pave the way for one of the aspirants. Indeed, one of the aspirants had boasted openly that Oshiomhole would cancel the primary once he arrived, shortly before his arrival.

“Oshiomhole should not tell lies, if I was not there, contrary to his insinuation that I rented thugs to manhandle him, the crowd would have manhandled him. Some Ghanaian judges are presently faced the wrath of the people in his country when he was allegedly caught on camera taking bribes. According to AFP, hundreds of angry Ghanaians have in one voice trolled out to see the public screening of a long-awaited video capturing judges and court officials allegedly taking bribes.

Earlier this month, the news came out, with twenty-two circuit judges and magistrates affected. They were said to have tried to disrupt the broadcast of the video but all attempts failed and the footage lasting several hours was finally shown on Tuesday evening, September 22, in Accra. This video was put together by an investigative journalist who has written a petition to the Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama to remove the judges.

“The whole thing is pathetic. “They have abused the system and if we really want the system to work, then there must be rules and regulations that go with such abuses,” said Kwame Acheampong, who was among the audience at the screening, which it has been claimed was confirmation of long-held suspicions about the practice in Ghana.

Another resident, Bismarck Nanor, said any judge found guilty of wrong-doing should be punished and not be regarded as “above the law”. “I think that for the justice system to purge itself, everyone found culpable must be punished according to the same law, the same legal proceedings they use against others,” he said.

Michael Ntim questioned why judges would be tempted to accept bribes in the first place, adding: “I was so shocked honestly at some of the things I saw.” Bribery has been a trend in Africa. Just recently, four policemen on night duty were arrested in Lagos after one of them shot at a couple in a tricycle for refusing to give bribe.
