Rubbish! OP Stop your campaign of deceit. Why didn't you show us the dates on those papers. Those of us old enough know that Fela's Mum died in 1978 during OBJ's regime. How come like AIT you mischieviously displayed newspapers without visible dates misinforming young people that it was between 1984-85. You "cleverly" brought the worst newspaper headlines from God-knows-which-era to decieve the public. Bloody e-thug!

Car TalkRe: Advice On Long Distance Journey by Maser: 10:42pm On Mar 01, 2015
TCD:
LOL you guys are funny fa. Someone reading this who hasn't driven highway before will think its a big deal.

I still maintain it is not. it's the same road. it's the same cars you see in city you will see In highway, the same human beings driving the cars both in city and highway.

and to those mentioning reaction times being low, agility and alertness etc. I would think all those are even needed more in jam packed intracity driving where there are more cars , and keke or motorcycle drivers can just cut in from anywhere, add pedestrians crossing road at will.

intracity is even more difficult.

Anyone who can drive intracity succesfully with all these then highway will be a piece of cake.
You're clearly wrong in your advice and I doubt if you've driven highway before. I drive long distance nearly every two weeks on very rough Nigerian roads and with 20 years driving experience under my belt.

I can tell the OP that intra-city is completely different from long distance.

In long distance note the following;

Drive at a speed you can control, for a starter please maintain at most 100km/hr

Leave gap between you and other vehicles in case of eventuality

Be foresighted and keep you gaze afar off in order to spot potholes and gradually steer off(not swerve) before you approach.

If you meet any unexpected pothole whilst on speed, do not attempt to swerve off it (this could throw you off the road into the bush). Just slow down a bit and take your foot off your brake and enter the pothole. The worst that could happen is damage to your shock or bottom plate but at least you'll be alive and your car intact.

Be careful on snaky or bending roads, slow down whilst you move on them to avoid being thrown off the road.

Be very cautious of whatever lies ahead that you can't see properly whether a bend, or a hill or mirage.

Do not compete with any car you see on the road

Do not apply brakes abruptly whilst on high speed

You only have split seconds to make life-critical decisions

PoliticsRe: They Said Buhari Will Take Us Back, Please Let Us Go Back by Maser: 11:03am On Mar 01, 2015
lilflipnerd:
pls sir. State ur experience then for we Youngies
$1=INaira, He forced down the price of food, jailed corrupt officials, those who escaped abroad, he attempted to repatriate them back via crate (ie Umaru Dikko the most corrupt of them), he enforced discipline in public places like queueing at bus stops, no urinating or defeacating in public, even school kids were scared of littering environment with sweet or buiscuit paper, drug pushing attracted firing squad.

When IBB overthrew him after 20 months, he released the guys he jailed and those guys are Nigerias problem today e.g Mr Fix It et al. IBB then went ahead to liberalise corruption.

The people who are waging a smear campaign against him are Polithiefcians who were either previously jailed by him or have stolen so much and are therefore scared of being jailed if he becomes President. These polithiefcians are the ones sponsoring TV adverts to confuse young people against him. Those documentaries are either outright falsehood or grossly twisted. E.g he didn't kill fela's Mum, she died in 1978 under OBJ's govt, he didn't register Nigeria with OIC, IBB did (check OIC website, 1986 after he had left), 70% of his cabinet were christians, Of the then 19 states, he appointed christian military governors in 11and muslims in only 9, He did things by merit.

Do you know that ex-heads of state were allocated a life pension of N25million/month and are collecting this money as I write, Buhari is the only one amongst them who wrote and rejected the full money and instead requested for only N2.5m/month. Are you aware that having been ex-governor of today's equivalent of 4 states, Petroleum minister, NNPC Chairman and head of state that Buhari left Office with only a small bungalow in daura to his name? The house he has in Kaduna today was given dashed him by Emir of daura long after he left office. Are you aware that even as ex-head of state that Buhari queues at the airport?

I leave you to compare him to today's politicians. I love Goodluck personally but he missed the point on corruption.
FamilyRe: I Hit Her, I Regret It But She Deserved It by Maser: 9:44am On Mar 01, 2015
mcdokwe:
I read a lot about how men who hit their partners are nothing but beasts, I nearly joined the bandwagon of accusers because I couldn't fathom how uncontrollable one's temper could be as to turn one's partner to a punching bag.

Don't get me wrong, I deeply regret I ever hit her, unfortunately that is one reason that apparently hold water as a reason for leaving even though she never gets to tell the whole story.

She had been a very good girl, and even till date, the only girl I have lost myself in love to. Yes, I have been a broke ass nigga and thankfully she could be a low maintenance lady.

She once told me how some of her stupid friends asked if I have hit her before obviously looking for shortfalls to convince her she shouldn't be dating me and how she proudly told them I hadn't for once.

In fairness to the truth, I learnt a lot from her and having her taught me how to treat my sister who was her age better.
At a point in her life, she had no genuine friend and would always moan to me how bad some friend or the other treated her and how she wasn't interested in their friendship anymore and I had to constantly remind her that people are different and so with their motives, I always encouraged her to try to understand such motives before writing them off.
I literally became her only friend and unfortunately shoved some people who could have been some sort of relief aside so much that we had just each other
Days became weeks and months and she conceived for me and a lot started changing about her. Maybe in her bid to feel acceptable, she got entangled with people she wrote completely off before, this wasn't a so much of a challenge because atleast she could whine less about them to me, her dress sense changed and she turned deaf ears to my appeal for explanation, I had to adapt to some of those challenges but unfortunately those friends became more valuable to her than myself even though we had a child coming and lived together, she shared less of her worries with me but would tell them even the minutest detail of our relationship which were frequently misrepresented maybe in a bid to gain sympathy which she eventually got. They explained my actions and inactions better than I could and she could go for days without talking to me so long as the meal was provides and the babies need met, she opted for a break anytime I told her of her upsetting attitude and the need to work on it, but would never tell me of her own misgivings towards me even when I plead so I could work on myself too, but would rather discuss unthinkable issues with her friends.

Fast forward to that particular day, a lady who I encouraged her to make friends with because of her distress and the feeling we could be of help to sent a text to her sim which happened to be on my phone saying she needs to know when I left the house so she could come over and I was wth! This is some one I brought in, someone whose coming means she is to fend from my toil, and I asked what it could be that I did that should warrant such. I sent her a text telling her never to bother coming anymore as I wasn't leaving the house that day anymore. She called her back and asked her only God knows what and my lady went up in frenzy insulting me not minding that a third party was there.
Minutes later the other girl stopped by to apologise stating that I misunderstood her text but my girlfriend continued the insult asking why she should bother to explain or apologise. After a while every other person left and she became apologetically cosy, well I shrugged her off knowing her being apologetic doesn't stop her from insulting me the next minute if she felt like, and true to my prediction, even while she was still being sorry, her words turned from being apologetic to outright insult, calling me unprintable names and how I am a hopeless orphan (I lost my dad the previous year and my mum is still very much alive and she is so lettered and knows what an orphan means) well I said something too of her family because I was hurt but could never match her with words and I made to leave the house in that fit of anger. But she locked the door and wouldn't let me. She turned apologetic again and then insulting, in that state all I could do was pity her because I couldn't imagine how someone could be so unstable, I was visibly frustrated and made to leave the house which she wouldn't have either and I had to forcefully remove her from the way. She came back hard on my, making for anything. That could be converted into a weapon, thankfully I was stronger and made her efforts futile. I pinned her to the ground with the intention to make her realise I am stronger than our love sessions where I played weak to let her have an upper hand so she could give up already, but the moment I released her a bit, she reached for my phone and smashed it on the floor repeatedly, I regrettably gave her some blows and because I didn't want it to continue, opened the door so a neighbour could come in a stop the fight. I later stormed out with the child and headed for a family who had rendered enough care to us and she later found her way there, I expected her to behave more in their presence but that was to wishful of me and unfortunately the ladies couldn't stop me as I gave her even deadlier blows but mehn, she never really got enough.

She was later forced into one of the rooms in the apartment and locked up with the baby.
After a while I walked to that point seeing how pitiful she looked asked her with tears in my eyes why she was acting the way she does to which she replied with a tone that could melt the devil's heart that she didn't know and was sorry. We packed up and went back home to the astonishment of all who saw us fight. Needless to say we made love that night after which she confessed she never knew I could hit her even after I was with her at the delivery room and declared no woman should be beaten by her man. She also owned up and apologised for pushing me to that point.

She also told me how a particular friend of hers who came in after the fight had told her not to have sex with me that night and all that.

The relationship lasted for a little longer without fights and she left while I was away for reasons still not clear to me, and looking back I regret that I ever let her pushing me to the point of hitting her but I still believe firmly that she deserved it.
Your actions were in order! Didn't diminish you one bit as a gentleman. There's a limit to what a man can take. Been in your shoes before and did same. We even went to the Pastor and she was insulting me right in front of the Pastor. It was then the Pastor realised that if she didn't even show him respect him enough as to be doing that right in front of him, then she must have deserved what she got. As a wise Man of God that he is, he insisted that she must kneel down and beg my forgiveness and asked me to pray for her. What women don't understand is that when you spurn and insult your husband for whatever feminist inclination you feel protects you, its an affront on God who placed him over you in the covenant of marriage. That's what brings curses and misfortunes to marriages, but will ladies learn? We'll keep loving though but will never acquiese our dignity on the altar of love.

You didnt love her genuinely
You lie!

Question should be, Did she love him genuinely to humiliate him in front of her friends? This is causative while the beating is only an inevitable consequence of her compelling actions.

I do not subscribe to the feminist school of thought that a lady should not be hit even if she poos on your head. A lady who refuses to control her verbal cum physical assaults loses her right of unhittability.

In my book, the dude's gentlemanliness hasn't diminished one bit. Dude should watch to ensure she doesn't have a boyfriend somewhere though. Such things also make women disdain their man.

My God, that was very wrong of you. Emotion is one of the most difficult thing to control. Have you ever felt hopeless, frustrated, bitter, depressed and see no reason to live for? You don't know her story or pain, so don't seat at your comfort and call people names. You don't know what people have to go through.

we have only heard that her guy dumped her, we don't know for how many years they have dated, the plans they have made, the sacrifice she had made, the pains and joy she had.

If you have never felt real pain to the point where you have thought about ending your life, then you have no idea what pain is.

For all those going through hard times, please talk to someone.

Not everyone we see with a smile is doing alright.
Your comments are very sensible! Lots of judgemental fools on this forum. The character that defines our humanity is the ability to always empathetically put ourselves in other people's shoes and see what they saw and feel the very feelings that prompted their actions. That unfortunately is lacking in many people. I deeply sympathise with this beautiful lady!

PoliticsRe: Who Is The Best President Nigeria Has Ever Had? by Maser: 7:06pm On Feb 14, 2015
General Muhammadu Buhari between 1983-1985.

He's the only one so far who suceeded in taming corruption. Nigerians are stubbornly corrupt and indisciplined.

You don't need just a president who will tell you I built railways, roads etc. yet allowing corruption to fester. Whatever infrastructure GEJ achieved in office, his legacy of corruption will cancel in no time as corrupt officials will embezzle monies meant for maintenance and allow them dilapidate.

What you need is a President who will aggressively tame corrupt officials and development of infrastructure will come naturally as your Governor and LG Chairman will be too scared to embezzle their allocation, thus be compelled to use them to build that dillapidated road that leads to your house. That to me is solving the problem from the root rather than on the surface.

I like GEJ as a person but sorry, he has proven again and again in words and action that he is not up to it. GMB is fit for purpose on this occasion and sure will get my vote in march.

macof:
Btw wat Buhari did wasn't fighting corruption, if he did, corruption won't have remained the way it was after his regime
Buhari only sought to silence his oppositions, nothing more nothing less

It's only the gullible that can be fooled by putting people in crates and dumping them in kirikiri as a show of fighting corruption, how many fair trails were conducted?
Awolowo was also corrupt? Alex Ekwueme was more corrupt than his leader Shehu shagari? Fela was also corrupt?

Stop letting people deceive u
You're dead wrong! The people he jailed were all corrupt Governors, ministers and some people who wanted to stand in the way of his anti-corruption train. GEJ admitted this much when he rhetorically asked,

"how much did Jim Nwobodo steal? Money that cannot even buy a peugeot car".

But at least he stole something, and therefore deserved jail term however long Buhari gave him. Now, that is called ZERO TOLERANCE for corruption. In china, the penalty is DEATH! Your GEJ on the contrary believes in rewarding corruption with more appointments to culprits. Cases in point are FFK, Bode George, Okupe,Alamiesegha (Senatorial Candidate), Omisore (Gubernatorial), Diezani etc

Corruption only festered again after IBB liberalised it and released the bad guys Buhari jailed. During GMBs time, even we school pupils knew we would be dealt with for littering the street with paper and everyone was careful. Discipline was everywhere in public places.

And before you reel out GEJs achievements, whatever you think he achieved in office without dealing with corruption will be cancelled by corruption in just a few years. All we need a leader who will deal with corruption and watch development come naturally as public funds will then be used to provide public infrastructure.

The smear campaign of calumny against GMB is being waged by corrupt politicians who have stolen so much and are scared of going to jail when GMB takes over, and of course PDP-hired e-warriors like you who have mortgaged their conscience for immediate monetary gains. We know you guys are on every blog doing the bid of your paymasters to paint GMB in a bad light, but some of us who saw the Buhari years aint that gullible. We saw through the lies the AIT documentary sought so hard to propagate to sway voters who weren't born then. They mentioned the people he jailed without saying what they did and monies embezzled. Umaru Dikko was crated to be bundled back to Naija because his stealing was unprecedented and he escaped to Britain. I am quite many staff of AIT with conscience won't agree with that documentary but then, their Oga (Dokpesi) who himself is a PDP stalwart will sack them if they refuse to play along.

GMB is who we need now that GEJ and his crew squandered our oil boom wealth that would have put us in the league of advanced nations.

Let me be clear, I personally love GEJ, he appears gentle but I disagree with him on issues and style of administration. He doesn't seem to be in control and rather it appears Patience and a few cronies are. The stakes are too high where it comes to the destiny of our country and future for me to pander to sentiments. Only in our country are jobseekers extorted and made to pay before they can write tests as opposed to saner societies where they are paid stipends to survive on whilst searching for jobs as in the immigration death saga. Despite the deaths, GEJ still left that minister in his cabinet. Only in Nigeria!

Physically because a man whose marriage you destroyed can assasinate you by any means possible and God himself will curse you and everything will start falling apart in your life. The man is a monster. Go checkout history b4 u make ur decisions pls.
He is evil

Apriil 1985.he was d first man to sentence a woman to firing squad(Gloria Okon)

He even kidnapped a Nigerian abroad.drugged him, handcuffed him and put him in a bag
On the contrary, he's not evil Son. The video is the handiwork of vicious propagandist politicians who have stolen so much from this country and who know that with GMB in power they'll be in jail. They therefore set out to demonise him with mistruths and outright falsehoods in the hope of swaying people like you who were too young to know what transpired in the 80s. Those politicians he jailed were by no means innocent. They almost looted the country dry. He jailed them. Umaru Dikko's (the man packaged in a crate) was unprecedented in the annals of looting in his day. Should buhari have patted thieves on the back and given them more appointments like GEJ did to the likes of FFK, Alamiesegha(who is now running for senate), Bode George, Omisore(who contested Governorship in Osun)?
In that documentary, Gloria Okon was a confirmed drug baron and others like her in the 80s attracted the penalty of death not just in Nigeria but also other countries. It is still the penalty in many asian countries till date. We all applaud Ghana as making progress but it took a Jerry Rawlings method to cleanse that country such that Nigerians are now shamelessly going there for education. Buhari came to cleanse the system then and that is what the country needs now otherwise young people like you will have no future. The documentary didn't tell you what they did because they want you to see him as evil. GEJ says stealing isn't corruption and went further to ask, how much did Jim Nwobodo steal that Buhari jailed him? He averred that the money couldn't even buy a peugeot car.
But we have a country where thieves are burnt alive because of N5000 but expect politicians who steal in billions to be rewarded with more appointments. In a nutshell, the people opposing Buhari's return are the corrupt politicians who are scared of going to jail and also fearful that he would stop their looting enterprise. Those politicians are the sponsors of that documentary which is calculated to sway public goodwill towards voting him. Don't be decieved by that documentary. It is outright manipulation of history. Buhari brought discipline, stopped corruption, tamed Nigeria before he was overthrown by corrupt IBB. Buhari had been Governor, Petroleum minister, Head of State and PTF Chairman, yet he is not rich. These days, you only need to be petroleum minister for 3months and you won't be hungry for the rest of your life. He built the refineries we have in the country today as a petroleum minister for three years, yet GEJ couldn't renovate them for six years as a president. I can't say anymore Son. I'm concerned for your generation.
