This is the best way to complete projects in Nigeria, as I suggested under Buhari. You split the work and give it to multiple companies. I was just telling a tenant in one of my Dad's house. He said they had issues and the electrician said they can bypass for now...now, they don't even have any electricity. I told him there was electricity before he moved in. How do you move in less than a week and you already have issues and want to bypass? I told him...if you are caught, thank God we have all credentials, we will hand you over to IBEDC directly ni make you face them in court, and if we have to cover any penalty, we charge you to court with your NIN. All Landlords should wake up and be smart. Another landlord faced similar issues and the tenant did not pay the debt and left. The debt is attached to the prepaid meter, so either landlord pays or it is factored into the future bills of new tenant...how terrible is that. Wise up and check on your tenants with electricians once every 6 months or contact IBEDC office to pull reports of all meter numbers to ensure tenants are paying into them. A word is enough for the wise.

I bring to you this issue I am currently facing, a squad of meter monitoring team bursted my apartment and while a check was carried out on the meter, it was discovered that it has been internally bypassed which was totally unknown to me. After dragging back and forth, and the official who got the meter for me was involved, I was disconnected, meter removed and handed to me, wire taken away, and a sum of 451k was slammed as fine.
Recently, the official who got the meter for me reached out to me, he told me I should bring 30k to retrieve the wire and when I asked him what about fixing the meter, he'd brushed me off.

During the heated argument with the meter monitoring team, I was told some wires has been cut off inside the meter which I am sure it wasn't from me.

I would like to know if this meter can be fix by a technician so it can continue to work normally rather than taking it to their office where I don't know what else they would charge me in the cause of finding solutions to the meter.

Long Jail sentences are not ideal for these types of crimes unless there are recorded injuries or fatalities. We need to be creative.

1. If 10 manholes were removed, they need to be hired to install 50 manholes.
2. Community service is too lenient, they need to be retrained after installing the manholes for 1-2 yrs to gain valuable skills and check-in weekly
3. If they fail to attend vocational training, they should be reported
4. CCTV should be installed and monitored 24hours. Hold the security agencies responsible if they are watching CCTV and fail to detect and deplore preventions. It will take at least 15-30 mins to remove one of these massive manholes.
5. Install the manholes and cover with concrete. If you need to work inside the manholes, drill the concrete and recover back with concrete as needed.
6. Clear all shanties and spare parts and increase standby security 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.
7. If possible, use side drainage on the streets instead of manholes if the goal is to move water away from the road during heavy rainfalls.

My NGO did a couple of small bridges at Alaro Sango Area. We used heavy rods, joined to side bars, then installed and covered all the sides with concrete, then use wire mesh to seal with concrete. The letter of commitment it would take to drill these things out...no one can have that and the neighborhood would not gree for this to happen because without those 2 car bridges, some houses would not be able to get vehicles inside or close to their houses.

Man Builds Five Bungalows for Siblings in Anambra

An academia, Prof. Emeka Udegbunam, a member of Ozubulu in Diaspora has transformed the lives of five brothers from Umuomukwe, Amakwa - Ozubulu in Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State.

Prof. Udegbunam was moved to action when he saw the harsh living conditions faced by the Ikeotuonye brothers in their dilapidated homes.

The benefactor who had studied the brothers for some period decided to help build a spacious bungalow for each sibling.

A prayer session was organised for the family to commit them to God and prepare them for the great things coming to their household.

On January 1, 2025, the keys to the new houses were joyfully handed over to the brothers. Though the benefactor was not present, he entrusted the task of presenting the house keys to his respected mentor, Ide John Udeagbala, whom he benefited from his scholarship.

In his brief speech at the event, Ide John Udeagbala praised Prof. Udegbunam's generous act, calling it unprecedented in Amakwa village. He urged others to follow suit and support those in need, emphasizing the positive impact such actions can have on relieving societal suffering.

In his address, Prince Iykebest Malizu, a former National President, Amakwa Development Union and the incumbent Administrative Secretary of Ozubulu Development Union, revealed that Prof. Udegbunam has already built eight houses for the indigents in Ozubulu community and currently working on three more projects.

He described Prof. Udegbunam as a destined individual with spiritual gifts inherited from his paternal grandmother. Prince Malizu emphasized that the benefactor's philanthropy is guided by spiritual directives.

In his vote of thanks, the eldest beneficiary, Mr Emmanuel Ikeotuonye who spoke on behalf of his brothers thanked Prof. Udegbunam for changing their lives stories. He prayed for God's endless blessings in the life of the generous benefactor.

A friend reached out to me. They have all relocated abroad. Dad has died and Mom is also in the US. I come to Naija annually. The tenant paid for 6 months and promised to balance. He did not. They renovated another flat in the same compound, he moved into that flat claiming the other one isn't conducive. He tapped the electricity and they got fined by IBEDC N400k. This same tenant stayed 1 whole year and did not move. They called him, and he stopped picking their calls. I was livid.

I came around, found the house..he wasnt there. Put a plan together and on a Saturday early morning, they came to evacuate his stuff. Only for him to say the place he wants to move to is not ready. People are so wicked. He wrote an undertaking for a month...by Week 2, he was gone. Unfortunately, people know when they do this.

My own tenant refused to go and pay rent. We disconnected water and electricity. Still refused...then we went to the place of work, she works as a teacher at a nearby school. The plan was to escalate to the Principal, and I also know Oyo State pays housing allowances...when they showed up to her work....she mellowed and wrote an undertaking to vacate in 1 month. She left in Week 2.

I hate people cheating me or cheating other people. When we begin to allow or excuse madness, it means we are running mad as a society.
