I bought and registerEd the SIM today like I promised but I'm yet to receive any 4G signal. I stay at Agbowo, opposite UI (very close to Bodija where it's been reported to have been sighted). If work permits me, I'll stroll to Bodija market before the week runs out for another test

I was having a discussion with one lady yesterday and she said she'll need a phone with a good camera to support her glam business so I recommended Xiaomi devices. She asked for the price of my RN5(with working gcam o), and after she heard the price, she said she'll better add some money and get an iphone 7s instead of spending such "huge" amount on a chinco phone. I just smiled and kept quiet.
I don't like to waste my time trying to convince people to see the light

No you don't need to. There are lots of predefined designed you can choose from. You can modify any them you have on your phone to your taste

I guess glo has increased their bands

That's just the carrier name. Doesn't mean you can use 4G on the phone

Having a custom recovery like TWRP, RedWolf and OrangeFox gives you assurance that you can almost always get out of any software related problem that arises especially when you have a backup and some other roms stored somewhere.
You have the liberty to flash anything flashable ranging from custom roms, kernels, audio and camera patches, even fonts to root files..
As you can see from the attached screenshot, I've got 2 custom Roms readily available on the phone incase any problem arise or I feel like switching between Roms

Chai! To say that ignorance is a disease is quite an understatement.
If you think Xiaomi is poo, no problem, go ahead and spend your money on whatever you deem fit. It doesn't make any sense trying to convince anybody otherwise as I'm not paid to do that.
As for me, I don't even like telling people to buy Xiaomi devices, the phones speak for themselves.
I'm currently using my 4th Xiaomi device after Jiayu(another great Chinese brand) closed up shop

And I've never for once regretted my decisions. The worst that has ever happened is a broken screen, which happened when I risked using my RN4X for a few days without tempered glass, and it was fixed by one local phone engineer after I ordered for and received a replacement from aliexpress.

Like I said earlier, everybody is free to make their own choices, but as for me, I choose to remain with Xiaomi till further notice
