CareerRe: How I Got Belittled By My Boss... by MathsChic(f): 7:27pm On Nov 12, 2015
SSpeter:
I felt breaking my boss head after he made some derogatory comments that got me angry and belittled.....

Yesterday a colleague and I went to take measurements of a bank for renovation works in one of the tertiary institution in ogun state. My colleague been the senior was given the full details and equipment needed. When we got to ogun state, he gave me the equipment (tape and camera) and asked me if I could do it that he has a babe in the school. I said yes and he gave me extra 3k I guess that was to shut me up.

After taking the measurement of the floor area in the banking hall and other adjoining spaces, I took pictures of the tiles and ceilings just to show my boss that they were in a very poor state. When I got back home I used my computer to scale the measurements and then redesigned the banking hall.

The main aim of the renovation was to increase the number of cubicles in the banking hall from 3 to 7. Today when I got to the office, I gave my boss the report and showed the the proposed design I made, he said "Great". During critic session I was surprised that the initial drawing was brought out and he was redoing the design. Well I no talk, I watched until he was done instructing the architect. Then I compared his proposed design with mine and I quickly pointed out to him that he has used up much space for circulation moreover our cubicle spatial analysis is till the same.

He called me Peter!!! ....what year were you born I told him, he said that was the year I started this company. If you have things in your head keep it. When you establish your firm, use it. Na so everybody dey look me like say I shit for body. See me wey for just keep quite....If it were to be somewhere else, Na orijin bottle I for arrange untop him head...............that is why I keep praying for a multinational firm....abeg make I quickly go check my shell application status....

RomanceRe: Can I Go Ahead And Marry Her? by MathsChic(f): 11:35am On Nov 12, 2015
chichriso:
Please follow NLders, i am really in a big confused state of mind right now.

There is this young and beautiful lady am planning to marry, she is the kind of lady you will admire, her dressing, communication ethics, etc are all what you will expect from a single.

But, the challange am having with her is that:
1. She is too principled

2. She is too religeous

3. She always monitor my movement and calls,

4. She always frawns whenever am talking with females, etc

Will the above be a problem in the future?

I so much love her and am planning to propose to her by next year February.

Please i will be much happy if this is taken to Front Page for view and advice

Music/RadioRe: Nigerian Music Industry In The Eye Of Westerners By Stanley Nwabia by MathsChic(f): 11:29am On Nov 12, 2015
True. But songs respond to market forces. As a financial analyst, I can't help but make that statement. Blue grass country music is entertaining and satisfying because it responds to a class of demand that wants it and is willing to pay for it. How many Nigerians truly desire alternative, creative music far from the nonsense that pervades today's scene? When Iyanya or Chidima (, I'm not so sure who) started out with pleasant uplifting music, how many Nigerians actually cared? When Iyanya began churning out lewd lyrics, I thought he got more followers on insta & twitter. It's the way it is in Nigeria.

There's a certain Brantley Gilbert who sings wonderful music in America. I'm certain a ton of Nigerians have not heard about him, yet he's rich and sings professionally. He can only do that because the market encourages him to. The moment America turns away from his genre, he'd need to switch beats if he desired too continue surviving

I also hate the cheap music Nigerian singers are vomiting, from Yemi Alade to Olamide. But we need to look at it squarely from a market perspective before landing criticism.

EducationRe: Nairaland Mathematics Clinic by MathsChic(f): 11:10am On Nov 12, 2015
Madmathecian:
Think through it.
This is more of a puzzle than it is a maths problem. And some fundamental assumptions must be made in order to move forward.
If Cheryl told Albert and Bernard the month and date separately, then she only could have told Albert any of the set (May, June, July, August) and Bernard any of the set (14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19).

From the first sentence, Albert claims "I don't know what Cheryl's birthday is, but I know that Bernard doesn't know too". Since Bernard doesn't know too and only knows the date, then the date can't be (18,19), merely because if it were any of the two then Bernard would know for sure what Cheryl's bday is. 18 or 19 would simply mean June 18 or May 19.
So, set of possible values Cheryl could have told Bernard is (14, 15, 16, 17). Albert's conclusion is based on a blanket assumption that Bernard is able to figure this out. Not so good. Albert would also have been told July or August for him to be convinced Bernard doesn't know Cheryl's bday, because if he was told May or June he would have doubts about whether Bernard knows or not.

From the second sentence, Bernard claims "at first, i didn't know what Cheryl's birthday is, but now i know". This can only mean that Bernard has figured out that Albert has only July & August as months. Since he couldn't have had May or June which would have given away the answer long before. But since Bernard has a date already, it means he now knows Cheryl's bday as July 16, the only possible cross between the two available sets. It couldn't have been July or Aug 14, as Bernard then would still not have known what Cheryl's bday is.

From third sentence, Albert now knows Cheryl's bday too, because he has the month. He didnt have the day, but July 16 is the only date he could have, as Aug 15 or 17 would mean he still doesn't know what the bday is.

So, answer is July 16. But seriously, you are the only one doing the thinking here, not Albert or Bernard. I don't think this is a clear puzzle.

Jodesky:
The Buyer's reason for not paying your full fee is very genuine. You were not diligent in disclosing what turned out as extra charges amounting to N4m. This is more so when you are aware he was relying on bank loan.

You should he happy he's paying you a lesser sum which l advise you grab with both hands.

I always make it clear to Agents that l want to know all charges beforehand as my budget may not accommodate surprises.

This is a lesson to all. We should be mindful of hidden charges when buying properties as this may crash budgets.

Our so-called professionals are won't to ignore these possibilities just in the eagerness to sell only to spring surprises just as deals are closing.

So my friend, no tears for your lamentations.
