BedLam:And you think the US president doesn't interfere with the judiciary? It's in the tradition of executive power to advance its will one way or the other. Mr. Dasuki deserves every treatment he's getting and one author's opinion, surreptitiously published in Washington Post, should do nothing to determine what Nigerian executive feels is justifiable. |
Optimusshield:You clearly have no idea what my response is about. Of course, war is no good and shouldn't be encouraged. But someone posted pictures claimed to be the resultant of French bombing in Syria. Shouldn't that be substantiated? Understand the topic first and what my response is, then you can advance your argument. |
These could any picture from anywhere at anytime. |
Hmm.... I'm sure this is not exclusive to health interns. |
BedLam:I really don't understand how Mr. Dasuki is a political opponent. He was a public servant who did an immensely poor job in managing Nigeria's defense budget. Plus, Bruce Fein, the author of the article, should realize that even in America executive powers amount to much. Mr. Obama hasn't exactly been generous with carrying congress along with some of his policies, arm-stringing them into approving of his bail-outs and threatening to veto them on the Iran deal. I think Mr. Fein, and yes the US, should stay out of Nigeria's business. Even the blind can smell from a thousand yards Mr. Dasuki's limitless corruption, and it's time someone brave called him to the courts. |
Clearly a sponsored article. |
Wow! I don't know what women gain from cheating. |
Everyone with a G-wagon these days. Hmm... |

Isn't this foolish? How does it solve the problem? |

There's no question it's ingrained in Islam itself. The religion needs a reform and there's been a handful of people championing this cause. Irshad Manji, Majeed Nawaz, Usama Hassan are just a few. The problem is, even everyday moderates are convinced these people are charting the wrong course. In fact, some radicals have taken it upon themselves to tag these reformers infidels. While the majority educated Muslims do not outrightly support these radicals, they tacitly approve of their actions by keeping silent and turning their eyes. Mehdi Hassan is one of such. Christianity, another archaic religion with at times suppressive doctrines, has somehow lived through its reformation moments. So, it's no oxymoron when you hear "gay bishop", "lesbian pastor", "former Christian". Islam, on the other hand, doesn't have room for such contradictory titles. A former Muslim (an apostate) could actually be executed in several Muslim countries. Isis regularly flings gays off roof-tops to the non-consternation of Muslims around the world, and radical Muslim cleric Anjem Choudary, who lives under the free laws of UK, has actually stated categorically that gays should be put to death. The same Choudary enjoys local support among a handful of UK Muslims. Isn't this preposterous? |
Isn't it impressive the way the Parisien police is able to track down the killers' identities, mastermind included, and bring to an end this senseless scheme? You just have to give it to them. I wish same can be said for our Nigerian agencies. |

Hmm... not good |
Wow! Nice. I do hope this was posted with permission |
Noise making all over again. Why do we, as a nation, continue to allow a few make (un)substantiated allegations without investigating them? In the US, if this happened, someone is going to jail for libel or for attempted murder, whatever the case. Hanging allegations simply create friction among people. |

adjoviomole:And then in year 2016? |
Sijo01:Why blame fuel scarcity and not the incessantly inhuman behavior of the police? |
Facebook is just so innovative. I wonder if same can be said of Nairaland. |
saint047:Now this is funny. Lol |
But to judge from physical appearance alone is not sufficient. |

Oops! Another reason you should move out of tout areas once you become successful. When is Nigeria going to grow up? ![]() |
Wow! Eye opener. However the case, I don't think Nigeria's dominance results from using over-aged players. Has anyone heard of the any players in the Swiss team that won the tournament back then in Nigeria? The quality of football in the u17 category is just enough to allow Nigeria win. Higher quality football at the senior levels requires more playing/training hours with specifics on tactics and strategy. Nigeria hasn't got its head around this. If anyone should want to raise flags about age cheaters, it should be with the Brazilian team that hasn't won the cup again post-MRI. Whatever the case though, I believe there's high likelihood the Nigerians are older than 17. MRI doesn't put a cut-off at 17. It will still allow 18, 19, 20 and sometimes 21 pass. Is this enough to invalidate the Nigerian victory? I don't think so. You have to consider that even the other teams are not completely innocent of age cheating. Plus, stature-wise, the Nigerians stand on equal footing with the other teams from the rest of the world. And this is where i think the focus should be. True 15-16 year old boys from Nigeria are too tiny to give the other teams any competition. |
