US embassy don see Nigerians finish. Many of you guys applying , na the embassy dey frustrate you and not even the application. If its true that they released dates without even giving people information about what they are doing and keeping people abreast of what to do, then it goes back to my earlier point of saying we have been dehumanized. In America, it ll be a flagrant abuse of rights to do that kind thing of not giving information, so why do it to Nigerians? We sef be human beings o and God dey watch.

Omo nobody cares about the fundamental human rights of anyone in naija o. Civic space is cancelled and unfortunately we are seen as less than human by the international world. Sad how we got ourselves into this but hopefully it gets better. You know if this were to be an european country for example, that information ll be made public and not discrete. What about the poor student who doesnt have access to nairaland?

I find it weird that the embassy doesn't inform the public before releasing the dates. More like they are trying to favor some people over others.

Friedpotato:
there's unfair treatment actually. A student from Nigeria with same stats with one from Europe is more likely to be denied if they answer same things to the V.O.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Matinho: 1:51am On Aug 31, 2020
Its just so sad that the Visa officers treat people with no esteem or regard on these interview. And when you compare with people in other parts of the world, they dont get these unfair treatment. These students have worked hard to gain admissions and want an education to better themselves but achieving their dreams lies in the hands of one person who may or may not give them a fair hearing at a 45 seconds interview. Every country has its shortcomings and just because there are many bad eggs from naija doesnt mean there are no genuine students going to study and hoping to make an impact in the world Goodluck to the guy going to the film academy, hopefully one day we go see you for the next black panther movie and you will make naija proud. These unnecessary inequitable treatment to prospective naija students to USA too will pass someday.

Hey, I disagree with you, completely. On a good day, there are courses schools won't allow you take completely online. This whole online shit is basically because of this pandemic and as soon as it subsides reasonably, schools are gonna implement those restrictions again making it impossible to take "commonly in person classes" online. My school for example is trying the first two weeks of class online, for some courses. After two weeks, they probably will make adjustments. Also, international students have the option to take classes online/from any location just for this semester, from Spring, classes will take a normal shape, hopefully. So, if your classes next session are meant to be completely in person and you have all things in place, no VO will refuse to give you visa, except you really mess up at your interview. I rather see beginning online now as an advantage, except your school is still gonna have the option to take classes online next session in which case the VO will probably wonder why you still want a visa for a course you can take online. My suggestion, if your school is completely going in person next session, begin the course right away. It's to your advantage. But if your school is remaining online or is still gonna have the option for online, then, reconsider beginning now, based on your long term plans.

Yes i paid for it but i honestly do t mind forfeiting. My dream school is a top uni and i didnt even i agine they ll accept me but they did. Yea both programs are the same discipline. I guess i ll just tell the current one on monday i m withdrawing due to personal reasons. Thanks a lot for the advice bro.
LagosismyHome:
Did you pay money for the summer class ?...

If you haven't gotten a visa, servis and all.. I think you can still switch . What you might lose is the money spent on the summer course (if you paid) . But then depending on what the two program is , maybe you can transfer the credit . Even after visa people can still switch some programs

Your starting point will be to speak to the school and hear directly from them what is the implication if you withdraw from the program

Sorry to disturb again bro. Pls have you experienced the situation before, i was just checking the webform and read where they were saying once submitted we cant add documents but if they need additional documents they ll ask. I am thinking she should just forget about going for the biometrics of I cant add those documents, it is better than being rejected. My bank statements are in her application but i forgot to add my letter of declaration and also a letter of introduction by the bank,i feel there is no evidence that i m responsible for her financially since oyibos work based on evidence and not sentiments.

please go ahead to submit them fast via web form.

Staying for 3 months does not mean he did something wrong. There is no law that says you cannot stay in the USA, as long as you do not overstay your welcome. European citizens with ESTA stay the whole period they are eligible to stay and still come back weeks later for another visit. All because he is Nigerian that stayed for some months he is being profiled. However,if he has a tangible explanation to back up the stay its all good. To be Nigerian is a hassle,no country respects us but its a wake up call to the citizenry.
seyewest:
You failed to notice where he keep insisting on not doing anything wrong by staying for 3 months....

He doesnt need US Embassy. Christ Embassy is enough.

Oggg:
Bishop Oyedepo of Winners Chapel denied US visa renewal on Thursday at the Lagos Embassy. I dnt know why the rest of us can’t seem to understand what’s going on now at the US embassy and keep wanting to waste money..
Bishop Oyedepo will probably get one or two calls from a high ranking govt official or office put through to the people that be and his visa will be renewed at next trial. ...(probably)
My brethren pls leave this embassy and America alone. They dont want Nigerians again. Them nor do again.

(Bovi’s visa was finally renewed)

Infact woman was very angry and rude. My people make I no lie you, its bitter to hear but Nigeria is technically ‘banned’ from entering the USA with a very weak exception clause.
