Wow! Thank you very much. What a long and detailed list. I think everyone needs to take their time to read plus also to look online for resources that backs it up.

I searched online to verify the debt part and these links affirm the debt part of your response. As at 2010, Anambra State ranked No.3 among states with the least debt.

https://dmo.gov.ng/debt-profile/sub-nationals-debts/1070-federal-and-states-debt-stock-as-at-dec-31-2010

In my opinion, na person/state wey no dey owe gbese dey fit progress farther.

Thank you again, and if you can also further share links for references...

Oilwell:

FUNDAMENTAL ACHIEVEMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA STATE (PARTIAL LISTING)

1. Anambra was the first State to commence Sub-Sovereign Wealth savings, the first of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa. At a time many other Governors were leaving huge debts, I left the equivalent of $500 million Dollars in investment as well as local and foreign currency, including $156 million in Dollar-denominated bonds.

2. For the first time in the history of Anambra State, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of notable countries such as United Stated, Britain, Russia, European Union, South Africa, Belgium, Israel, the Netherlands, Canada, among others, visited the State. Before my tenure, Anambra was practically a pariah state blacklisted by the Diplomatic Corps and international development partners.

3. Development partners such as UNDP, UNICEF, the World Bank, DFID, the European Union etc., which hitherto were not in Anambra State started working with the State. Anambra was consistently adjudged one of the best states in development partnership and commitment to reforms for good governance.

4. He was recognised as Best Governor by the Millennium Development Goals Office (OSSAP-MDGs) and the UNDP in the implementation of their programmes in Nigeria.

5. The Nigerian Debt Management Office (DMO) rated Anambra as the least indebted state in Nigeria. In spite of visible and measurable achievements recorded in various sectors, the State under him did not borrow or raise bonds for her various projects.

6. The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria rated Anambra State as the most financially stable state in the country.

7. The State's ground-breaking return of schools to their original owners - Voluntary Agencies (Churches) on 1st January 2009, and subsequent partnership with the Agencies in Education, saw the State move from 24th position out of 36 States to Number One in National Examination Council (NECO) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations for three consecutive years. This made the World Bank to commission a study, led by the renowned Prof. Paul Collier of Oxford University, on this revolutionary partnership and phenomenal achievement.

8. The State also entered into strategic partnership with the Churches in the Health sector. This symbiotic relationship resulted in a tremendous boost to health care because of the services offered by health institutions owned by Voluntary Agencies, while the State restored grants to the agencies and made available to them more than 50 million Dollars in various types of support.

10. Through partnership with the Church in the Health sector, his Government funded the transformation of -:

a: Iyienu Hospital, Ogidi;
b: Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala;
c: St Charles Borromeo Hospital, Onitsha;
d: Holy Rosary Hospital, Waterside, Onitsha; and
e: St. Joseph Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu.
His Government also built the Joseph Nwilo Heart Centre in St. Joseph, Adazi-Nnukwu, where heart operations are now being performed.

11. His Government won the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (1 Million dollars) as the best-performing state in immunisation in the South-East. With complementary funding from our Government, they used the money to build 10 Maternal and Child Care Centres across the State, particularly in rural communities, in partnership with the Churches.

12. The State was the first to procure and distribute more than 30,000 computers to secondary schools, including 22,500 from HP. The Managing Director for Personal Systems Group HP Inc, Mr. FabriceCampoy described the deployment as the biggest of such projects in the Middle-East and Africa.

13. Anambra State Government provided Microsoft Academies to more than 500 secondary schools, which the Head of Microsoft in Nigeria (Mr. Ken Span) described as the biggest such deployment in Africa so far.

14. The State provided Internet access to more than 500 secondary schools, which the CEO of Galaxy Backbone (Mr. Gerald Ilukwe) characterized as incomparable to any in the country.

15. More than 700 buses were provided to secondary schools in the State by our Government.

16. Boreholes were provided in schools all over the State.

17. Numerous classrooms were built in all the 177 communities of the State.

18 As part of the efforts to turn around the economy of the State, a number of companies were attracted to build their facilities in the Anambra State. A case in point is SABMiller, the 2nd largest brewery in the world, which built their first Green Field facility in the State, which is today one of the most successful facilities they operate globally.

19. A number of other companies followed the SABMiller initiative and were all supported and encouraged under our Government; a good example is INNOSON Motor Manufacturing Company, from which our government bought more than 1,000 vehicles.

20. Anambra State for the first time started close collaboration with recognized government security agencies (the Police, Army, Navy, Department of State Security, Civil Defence, among others), offering them various types of support including provision of more than 500 security vehicles. The improvement in security was phenomenal, such that the former IG of Police (Abubakar Mohammed) lauded Anambra State for not witnessing any bank robbery in my last three years in office.

21. To further enhance security, Anambra State provided at least one security vehicle to each of all the 177 communities in the State as well as various organizations such as markets and Churches.

22. His Administration conceived and built, from scratch, the first state-owned Teaching Hospital, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu teaching Hospital, Awka.

23. His Government commenced the planned development of the Igbariam Campus of the ChukwuemekaOdumegwu-Ojukwu University, including the fencing, construction of internal roads, electrification, construction of the Faculty of Law, Auditorium, Administrative Block, Faculty of Agriculture, Management Building, among others).

24. His Government attracted the World Bank support on erosion - National Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) - to Anambra State.

25. His Government was the first to do Poverty Mapping in Nigeria, as a guide for the effective implementation of our poverty-alleviation strategies.

26 His Government, for the first time, undertook the aerial mapping of Awka as well as the production of Structure Plans for Awka Capital Territory, Onitsha and Nnewi.

27. During his tenure and with his Government's support, Anambra State became an oil producing State.

28. He built the first Secretariat Complex to house State Government Ministries that were hitherto scattered around the State.

29. His government commenced the development of the 'Three Arms Zone' comprising Government House/Governor’s Lodge, Legislative Building/Speakers Residence, and Judiciary Building with Chief Judge’s Residence.

30. By the end of his tenure in 2014, more than twelve (12) health institutions, including two hospitals, had secured accreditation; when we took off in 2006, no health institution in Anambra State was duly accredited.

31. Anambra State was the first to undergo national peer review, which scrutinised State Governments for good governance, through the State Peer Review Mechanism (SPRM), an initiative of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum in collaboration with the DFID.

*PRUDENT RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT OF LOCAL ENTERPRISE GROWTH.*

*1*. Peter Obi stated that he supported INNOSON by ordering 1000 Vehicles from his factory. These facts are verified. I expect the social media trolls to learn from Peter Obi and replicate this in abuja and the 36 states in order to grow local production and consumption.

*2.* Peter Obi stated that he reduced his convoy from 22 to 5 vehicles and you cannot buy fuel unless he is in the car". These facts are verified.

*3*. If I sleep in a hotel and have to pay N250k a night, I will be awake all night...feeling like I was robbed". - Peter Obi. verified fact . Tell your governor to stop blowing your state funds in expensive hotels with his aids . Let them learn from Peter Obi.

*4.* "We handed schools back to Churches and by 2013, we were number one in WAEC."- Peter Obi . This is a verified fact . Rather than hate Peter ,put pressure on your governor to improve education in your state and make your public schools habitable and decent to learning. Some of the public schools that Peter Obi helped Missions to fund , produced kids , who went to the US to win global science competitions . Facts .

*5.* Peter Obi stated that he did not allow his wife and children abuse state funds or engage in pay to play as First Lady and Children . These are verified facts. His wife was hardly seen parading the corridors of power . Peter Obi's only daughter is more beautiful and educated than some of those kids of the powers that be who spend tax payers money to attend UN functions. Peter clearly separated/ shielded his office from family meddlesomeness, unlike those who could not keep to their campaign promises to put their wives and children under leash . Peter never alloted anambra lands to himself, his wife, children and inlaws. It is on records. Facts !!! Unlike the Bandits that converted state lands into private estate . Go to Imo and Lagos and see for yourself what land banditry means.

*6.* Peter Obi built infrastructure, attracted conglomerates and new enterprises into his state , paid all outstanding salaries , wages and gratuities as at when due and still saved N75billion in liquid assets and cash . This is verified fact . Pressure your governor to at least pay salaries to poor workers before you come on facebook to run your stinking mouth on Peter Obi.

*7.* Peter Obi paid down up to N35billion of the huge debts he inherited and never borrowed neither did he owe anyone.

Peter Obi did not sell any state owned assets to raise chop money for politicians , rather he added more . Rather than hate Peter Obi pressure your governor or those in Abuja to account for what they did with all the homongous funds they borrowed without any commensurate infrastructure to show for it .

*8* Anambra state is the most poverty free state in Nigeria (not Lagos), under Peter Obi reign. According to national bureau of statistics, Peter Obi maintained that record and won awards from MDG for the sustained growth.

*9*. On several times and occasions, Peter Obis mandate was stolen and truncated. On each occasion , he fought his way to the supreme court to reclaim his mandates . He never threatened anyone with the blood of baboon and monkeys . No one was killed defending or opposing his mandates . As a true democrat , he abided by the rule of law .

*10.* Peter Obi revoked a N400m contract to build a Presidential mansion in Anambra state , when most states profligately wasted funds on such jamboree . He abolished state houses in Abuja and Lagos . He used N150milion that was supposed to buy him two bullet proof vehicles to as deposit to buy 50 Peugeot 406 cars for the executive , and Judiciary . Please instead of hating Peter kindly ask your governor and the Political Bandits you worship to go to him and learn Prudence.

*11*. Peter Obi was presented a budget of N32million for him and some people to attend the World Igbo summit in the US but he threw it out and mandated only one person to attend at a more reduced amount . But under the current FGN one minister took same amount to go to China . Please send these men to Peter to learn common sense in prudence.

*12*. Finally, for some of the poverty minded jesters ,( who assume that every wealthy man is a rogue) and who accused Peter Obi of building a NEXT mall in Abuja as evidence that he looted Anambra state , kindly note that as far back as 1993. Peter Obi was already very wealthy . He learnt entrepreneurship from his mum , who is a well known wealthy woman in Anambta state .

*13.* The Next Group of companies he owns is over three decade old . Peter Obi as far back as 2004 was the highest shareholder and Chairman of Fidelity Bank PLC. He did not borrow money to fund his campaign or buy Party nomination forms. He did not depend on roguish looters to fund his campaign , unlike those in Abuja . He funded his own campaign hence , was able to avoid looters or godfathers stealing anambra money unlike the current jamboree in some states and Abuja.

*14* Peter grew his wealth prudently and did not depend on governments as his source of wealth , hence , he knows the value of Money and how to grow money .

*15*. If you desire to know how the likes of Peter Obi, and other very few development minded political leaders leveraged on their positions of influence to support their enterprises without looting their state FAAC, JAAC and IGR allocations like some of the demented kleptomaniacs we have in our states , I can help you with free tutorials . Not every politician is a mindless looter. There are still few that create wealth for their states and people .

*16*. Note also that Peter Obi did not set up any private SPV and tax consultancy outfit to rip off 20% from every IGR collected in Anambra state , neither did he appoint/ force his daughters and wife into public places to be harassing and slapping innocent and helpless citizens.

*17.* Peter understood the importance of education and knowledge, hence, his constant quest for more . Thus , he attended some of the best schools in the world and supported quality education in his state , unlike the fossils and gerentocrats , who never added one jot of knowledge in years and do not know the importance of education .

*18 .* To a majority of the ignorant and sentimental folks , who are all over the social media to discredit an apt and timely message to us as a people , I leave you with this parting words from Okwute himself ....

*"I beg you to participate more in politics, the society we help them ( the oppressive political class ) abuse today will take its revenge tomorrow"* - Peter Obi

*19*. Peter Obi has offered himself to serve. He is not going to force himself on anyone . 2,000 years after , it is still very glaring that the current generation have not yet learnt their lessons . They will still choose their barabasses over those, who came to save them . Please go ahead to nominate and elect your bandits ... but kindly note, remember and let it be at the back of your minds, that the day the terrorists stopped the Abuja to Kaduna train, they did not ask those they killed and kidnapped if they were Igbos , Yoruba , Hausa , Fulani,Ijaw , Muslim, Christian, Hindu etc, before they gunned them down or abducted them . Whatever you wish Nigeria and support will surely happen to you one way or the other

--- *Dr. Nnaemeka Onyeka Obiareri*

Honestly thats the big question. Where do we start from?

RealLordZeus:
You see, I've always ask that question and yet to get a satisfactory answer.

We already know we need a reform on this country.
Where do we start? From the people or govt.

Most ppl say from the govt, but I am 100% sure that the person supporting that motion will be more corrupt than the present ones when given a taste of power.

We always lament that the govt is corrupt but quick to forgot that we are also the govt.

Civil servants: if you have a file that needs approval from the state and fed Secretariat or even local govt and you are not ready to grease their palm up to the cleaner level, just forget about that file

Public sch teachers: most sch teachers takes normal day class with levity and won't bother whether your ward is in class or not, but let your ward miss extra lesson, start boiling water to masaage his or her body.

Private sector employers: some employers are devil incarnate, they are only concerned about how to render your life useless, intentionally delaying salary and numerous exploits

Private sector employees: To start a business in Nigeria is far much easier than how to manage that business, staffs will always look for every opportunity to rip you off, you can't just trust anyone again, from the big post to the lowest even gateman can connive with ppl to love your products out.

Police: This one is self explanatory

Market women: I don't know how to describe their own greediness, after selling to you at an exorbitant price (if you don't know how to price) they still tamper with their measurement cylinders, melting candles inside, cutting the neck, hitting by the side.

These are just few examples, it cut across .

Now tell me, are they the govt.

NB: I'm not supporting or justifying the govt wanton corruption, but laying curses on them when we are also to be blame, that's hypocrisy and I don't do that
Politics / Opinion: Is The Govt A Product Of The People Or The People A Product Of The Govt by Matoni: 9:22pm On Nov 21, 2020
Coming from the instance of parent/child relationship, I would assume that the government should naturally have way more influence on the lives of the masses than the masses would ever have on the government.

It however baffles me how terrible many people truely are. I mean, why would you for instance burn your fellow ordinary citizen's car or loot their business in the name of a protest?

Adverts / Brand New Mobile Toilets For Rent by Matoni: 5:02am On Aug 05, 2020
EMToilets are distinct from the regular toilets you are familiar with in both design and style of management; Our toilets have a spacious, well ventilated interior to promote continuous air flow and ensure you will not perceive any offensive odour. The urinal drains down the vent pipe, which prevents unwanted tank odors from venting back into the cabana. The seat is positioned at the furthest point from the urinal, away from odor and user's direct sight. Together, these features produce a more comfortable, pleasant experience for you and your guests.

Without saying much, the features of EMToilets puts us ahead but we have taken a step further with a promise to deliver nothing short of Executive or premium service to all of our customers and their guests:

1. In-built foot pedal hand wash facility
2. Foot flush operated
3. Cloth hanger
4. Spacious and well ventilated interior
5. Urinal for men
6. A professional, courteous stand-by toilet attendant
7. Clean water, disinfectant, air freshener, and hand sanitizer supply per event

Health / Mobile Toilet Rental: 5 Features To Look Out For Before Renting by Matoni: 10:45pm On May 31, 2020
Mobile toilets or portable toilets are designed in such a way that they will be easy to move around and at the same time, should have all the features you would normally have in the toilet at home.

A portable or mobile toilet works by flushing and carrying waste away like every other regular toilet. However, instead of the waste being transported to a sewer, it goes into a waste holding tank. In the waste holding tank there are chemicals that break down the solid waste kills germs, destroys smells and reduces toilet paper.

In order to operate efficiently and serve customers satisfactorily, every mobile or portable toilet you rent has to come with more than just the waste holding tank feature. For instance, as mentioned above, you already know the mobile toilet you are renting must come along with chemicals. Other features like cloth hanger, hand wash system, urinal, etc are as important as well. it is therefore necessary for you to ask your mobile toilet rental company if the mobile toilet you will be provided with has the following features:

1) Will the Mobile / Portable Toilet Come with a Hand Sanitizer?
In this era of Coronavirus, I believe everyone should now be familiar with hand sanitizers. In a typical social gathering where mobile toilets are used, there will be a lot of physical contacts in the form of hand shakes, moving of chairs with the hands, hugging, lifting objects and much more. All of these activities expose hands to harmful germs and bacteria. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the CDC, hand sanitizer is one of the best tools available to avoid getting sick and spreading germs. The toilet is the best and most strategic place to position hand sanitizers

2) Does the Mobile / Portable Toilet have a Mordern Flushing Mechanism?
This is one of the major factors that differentiate a mordern mobile toilet from an old-school one. Even though it is phased out in all developed countries, you will still find manual flush mobile / portable toilets being rented out. They are manual in the sense that the user has to go in with a bowl of water to pour in after use.

you could ordinarily say that there is nothing wrong with this manual flush system because that is how some people’s toilets are in their homes, but considering the fact that these mobile toilets will be used by many people, the safest way to use it is to try as much as possible to avoid letting your hands touch any thing in the toilet.

hence, the best type of mobile / portable toilet is the one with a foot flush system whereby after use, the user steps on the pump that will create pressure which circulates the water and/or chemicals contained within the tank through a pipe to be transported to the toilet pan.

3) Does the Mobile / Portable Toilet have a Hand Wash Facility?
You should always insist on portable toilets / mobile toilets that have a hand wash facility because, more than ever before, hand washing has become critical to reducing the spread of Covid-19, cholera and typhoid. The hand wash facility should come with a running water, soap or sanitizer, and other restroom essentials to make users feel more at home.

4) Will a Stand-by Cleaner Accompany the Toilets?
A Mobile / portable toilet without proper maintenance service is not effective. The essence of a stand-by cleaner is to keep the toilet clean for the next user. To remind every user to always flush, use sanitizers or soap, to wash the toilet pan in case there is a stain and to generally ensure the toilet is in perfect condition for the next user.

You cannot possibly trust every single person that uses a mobile / portable toilet hence the need for a stand-by mobile toilet cleaner. Without them, the mobile / portablè toilet will become messed up after just a few people have used it.

5) Be sure to ask for Executive Service:

Culture / Re: My Argument Against Feminism by Matoni: 8:19am On Nov 11, 2019
is it that just being a gender equality advocate is not enough? The whole feminist thing is similar to a religious sect; claiming to be the same but in practice, are not. That phrase you used: "I for one" says it all added to the fact that there are many kinds of feminism makes it clear that feminism is not all good. Why not just stick to being just? there has never or seldom been a walk against "false rape accusation".

Thanks for replying. I get your point. Most people are not getting it wrong you only need to get their point too.

Feminism or liberal feminism is like a typical sect. And like the unfortunate case of every sect that might have been formed with good intentions, it sooner or later turns into something else.

I'm confused.... How can a person trying to understand Christianity ever get it? It seems there are just too many different views.

The Holy Spirit of God is not identified as a third person in a trinity but is presented in Scripture as the power of God, the mind of God and the very essence and life force of God through which the Father begets human beings as His spiritual children. The Holy Spirit is given to individuals when they genuinely repent and are baptized (Acts 2:38

let's not deny the fact that surely sexy clothes might incite SOME rape.
.

And Pastor Festus Oladoyin, of the Blessings of Christ Church, Tanke, Ilorin, on Thursday, urged girls to dress decently, in order to reduce the incidence of rape in the country.

You agreed with him so he might be right. Besides his suggestion aims only REDUCE rape cases SO I DON'T THINK YOU ARE CORRECT to say that "he made it seem like the dressing was the only reason why men raped women"
Religion / Re: Indecent Dressing Attracts Rapists, Says Pastor by Matoni: 4:58pm On Feb 25, 2018

Rape has very little to do with the dressing of the victim. Islamic countries which force women to cover everything up have more rape than western countries whose young women typically wear bikinis to the beach. Rape happens when rapists feel that they can get away with it.

As to those who reject Faith it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe. (30). Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they (incur). 31 32

I don't even know which is worse; having the wrong idea of who created and owns the world or believing that there was no creator.

Have ye seen that which ye emit? Do ye create it or are We the Creator? Waqia 58 -59

And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect?

Have ye observed the water which ye drink? 68 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder? 69 If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks? 70

At the end of our lives everyone should expect judgement and thats when our deeds will be accounted for. Punishment and rewards will be served, then you will realise that there is one God

dalaman:

You have allowed others to reason for you so much so that you can not live without their imaginary and mythical thoughts and ideas. You can not compare nairaland with the God idea. Everybody here including you KNOWS and acknowledges that nairaland belongs to Seun Osewa. His objective signature is on nairaland stating very clearly in bold that he owns nairaland. He has a UNIQUE moniker(No other moniker called Seun exist here on nairaland ) and uses his monikers to communicate wit people here. He uses the moniker to seek for employees (moderators), make special announcements, engage people directly in ways through which everybody including you knows that it is him.

What about God? We have so many of them. None of them has any of their names or signature in nature in an objective way stating that they own anything. All we have are diffrent believers telling us that it is thir own version of God that owns the universe. How did you get to know that the planet we live in was created hy Yahweh and not Brahma? Over a billion people in the world today claim that Brahma created the universe, do you have any evidence apart from empty words to show that It is your own God that created the universe and not Brahma. If you try to seriously claim that nairaland is owned by someone else and not Seun and insisit that Seun is an impostor you will be banned for life and any moniker that you open will also be banned for life.

God is a human idea that is why different humans have conceived of different God ideas throughout history. Your own is just one out of the many ideas that have been conceived. Even within your religion there are many different concepts and ideas of how God should be and behave. That is why we have very different sects with totally different beliefs about how your God should behave and act. Take the mordern day word of faith property gospel Christians and the traditional christians and see how different they feel God should act or behave. That alone is enough evidence to show you that bit is all a man made venture.

Seun exist and has a unique moniker here on nairaland that nobody else has. His signature and status as owner exist and nobody can claim that nairaland is owned by someone else . God on the other hand depends on whose story you are listening to. The muslims insist that the universe belong to their God, the Hindus claim the same, the Taoist make the same claim, christians also, etc. Every culture and every group keep insisting that it is their own version and idea of God that owns the universe, none of them has been able to provide any evidence to support their claims.

Seun uses his moniker to make direct comments here on nairaland. As for God it all depends on who you are listening to. Even believers can not tell you exactly the message their God is sending. Just take an example with the speaking in tongues thread here and see how sincere christians are all disagreeing with each other on what the bible really says about speaking in tongues. No agreement at all, only disagreement and even name calling among themselves while laying claim to this holy spirit of confusion. No such thing has ever happened to any of Seun's messages here on nairaland. Go to the thread and use the holy spirit to end the dispute and disagreement btw your fellow christians on the true biblical position on speaking in tongues. Shebi you always insist that you have the holy spirit, will you go there and demonstrate that this your holy spirit is real and not a figment of your deluded imaginations? Put your money where your mouth is and go there and settle the disagreement using the holy spirit let's see how far you'll go. Show some actions, we are tired of your empty claims.

I can insist that Allah is God and that the universe belongs to him and nothing will ever happen to me. I can insist that the uinverse has no owner and nothing will ever happen to me. Try and insisit that someone else owns nairaland or claim that Seun doesn't own nairaland with all seriousness and see what will happen to you.

Culture / My Argument Against Feminism by Matoni: 2:21pm On Feb 15, 2018
While I stand to be correct, Feminism sounds to me like a group of people fighting for equal rights in a biased way.

Wikipedia defines feminism as a range of political movements, ideologies, and social movements that share a common goal: to define, establish and achieve political, economic, personal, and social equality of sexes.

Now this definition only keeps me wondering are feminists the pioneers of equal rights or “social equality of sexes?” cant someone is for the idea of social equality of sexes without being a feminist?

As a man, how do you act as a feminist? You have to listen to women who feel oppressed, call out and condemn hatred against women, use your position to benefit women etc. This again is one-sided because it’s not in the feminist code to listen to men who feel oppressed, call out and condemn hatred against men, use their position to benefit men, etc. For instance, if feminists were truly for equal rights they would advocate for punishment for women who cry rape when there was no rape

I stand to be corrected

Islam for Muslims / Re: Celebrating Valentine's Days (A Short Fatwa) by Matoni: 12:17pm On Feb 09, 2018
Salam alaykum. Thanks for this. It would have been better if you spoke with backing from the Quran or at lease hadith. That would have made your assertions stronger.

Quite alright it is not an ocassion recognized in islam and nobody is trying to introduce it to Islam. So I don't see it as an innovation in Islam.

I can't argue for ir against it but it's a beautiful day for most married folks that celebrate it.

[Question:

Celebrating Valentine's Days has become widespread amongst young ladies lately. This is a Christian festival, during which red clothes, shoes are wore and red roses are exchanged. Kindly clarify the ruling on celebrating such festivals.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam (may Allah exalt his mention) is His slave and Messenger.

Celebrating Valentine's Days is prohibited for the following reasons:

1. It is an innovated festival that has no grounds in Islam.
2. It invites to lust and encourages immorality.
3. It busies the heart with useless and attaches it to harmful matters, all of which opposes the practice of our Salaf (righteous predecessors) may Allah have mercy upon them.

Therefore, it is not permissible to practice anything on this festival day that reflects imitating those who practice it, whether it is regarding to ones food, drinks, clothes, gift exchange, greetings or anything else.
Finally, a Muslim must have pride in his religion and should not be naive and follow everything he sees around him.

Allah Knows best.

Islam for Muslims / The Universe Is Expanding. Who Discovered This? by Matoni: 9:46pm On Jan 27, 2018
As-salamu alaykum waramotullah webarakatul

The universe encompasses everything in existence, from the smallest atom to the largest galaxy; since forming some 13.7 billion years ago in the Big Bang, it has been expanding and may be infinite in its scope. The part of the universe of which we have knowledge is called the observable universe, the region around Earth from which light has had time to reach us.

One famous analogy to explain the expanding universe is imagining the universe like a loaf of raisin bread dough. As the bread rises and expands, the raisins move farther away from each other, but they are still stuck in the dough. In the case of the universe, there may be raisins out there that we can’t see any more because they have moved away so fast that their light has never reached Earth. Fortunately, gravity is in control of things at the local level and keeps our raisins together.

Who Figured This Out?

The American astronomer Edwin Hubble made the observations in 1925 and was the first to prove that the universe is expanding. He proved that there is a direct relationship between the speeds of distant galaxies and their distances from Earth. This is now known as Hubble’s Law. The Hubble Space Telescope was named after him, and the single number that describes the rate of the cosmic expansion, relating the apparent recession velocities of external galaxies to their distance, is called the Hubble Constant.

How true is this? BECAUSE THIS HAD BEEN TALKED ABOUT IN THE QURAN MANY YEARS BEFORE NOW

Allah says in Quran:
"And it is We who have built the Universe with (Our creative) power and keep expanding it." (Quran 51:47)

In this Ayah, Allah refers to the expansion of the universe. According to this ayah, the universe has not been the same since its existence; it continues and will continue on changing. This fact was proved by science a hundred years ago when the astronomers found out that the universe does not remain constant, rather it is expanding with the passage of time, thus proving the claim of Quran.

I bear witness that there is no other God but God (THE creator of the universe and everything in it) and Mohammed (Salalahu alayhi wasalam) is his messanger

TAKBIR!
