chinchum: Infrastructure is arguably the key factor that drives the economy. I must state that the optimal infrastructures like refineries, seaport, railways, power plants, efficient electricity transmission lines, good rural roads,.
SMEs fail most times because of the failure of these aforelisted infrastructures. Production will struggle and can not be catalysed in the face of inadequate infrastructure. Small and medium scale enterprises fail and cant create the required jobs because of the lack of infrastructure.
Building most of the infrastructures takes time and it takes strong commitment and aggressive focus to achieve sustainable growth.
I am not surprise Obi said infrastructure does not drive economy, little wonder he was saving money that should be used to build infrastructure. You dont have bad roads everywhere, no cargo airport and begin to save money. Nigerias problem today can also be traced to little investment on the infrastructure by the military in about 30 years they were at the helm of affairs, they had an easy chance with the value of Naira, less population to aggressively improve our infrastructure but they barely made a change.
Saving money in a scheme that yields high interest is very commendable because it's an investment. The money Peter Obi saved yielded huge returns and it was used by next governor to build Airport. Peter Obi also built roads, schools, hospitals, industrial/manufacturing estates, etc.
Government is a continuous thing, and capital investment doesn't mean there's no idea to build infrastructure.
PLEASE POST THE FULL VIDEO OF WHAT PETER OBI SAID THAT’S GENERATING THIS COMMENTS.
IF WE COMPARE WHAT SAID WITH THOSE OF TINUBU THEN WE WOULD KNOW WHO MAKES SENSE.
Fashola and co in APC should be ashamed for making Nigeria a failed state by every indices used to assess development. To say the least they're a colossal failure indeed.
For over 7 years he couldn't prioritise to know infrastructure urgently needed to drive the economy.
What could fuel our economy more than a developed power sector to full capacity?
What about security infrastructure? How many do we have on so called built roads and trains??
Why do we celebrate failures because of tribal sentiments
A lawyer who knows Jack about economy is being praised. His mentor equally said: having credit system and offering credit facilities to workers will solve corruption in Nigeria...JOKERS.
He built roads with loans borrowed at an unimaginably high interest, and some anti PO gangs in nairaland.com think he has sense. No thought is given to how and when said loans will be repaid.
Fashola and Co in APC couldn't and cannot create wealth but put us neck deep in debt. The difference is that Peter Obi can create wealth, he did it as an astute trader of global repute in his private business and, in Anambra that he governed.
Fashola and Co in APC lack the acumen to generate anything internally that's why IGR is nothing to write home about. Peter Obi built roads, schools, and other infrastructure in Anambra but he doesn't make noise about it because those are basic responsibility of government. Where brain and intellect is needed is in increasing IGR.
Bring Tinubu and Atiku to debate Peter Obi on development economics, he will floor those two who made money by pilfering of government funds. Why is your Tinubu and Atiku running from granting interviews in the media? Peter Obi has been interviewed on several occasions and, from his answers win so many sincere and reasonable followers and supporters.
SO HE COMPLETED A BSC DEGREE COURSE IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS, THAT’S MAGIC!
PLEASE SPARE US YOUR BLATANT LIES.
NSNA: Some groups wrote to Chicago State University to confirm Tinubu's status as an alumni, and here is the university's response dated June 27, 2022.

CHICAGO STATE UNIVERSITY
June 27, 2022
To whom it May Concern:
Please be advised that Bola A Tinubu attended Chicago State University from August 1977 - June 1979. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with Honors on June 22, 1979. His major was accounting.
Respectfully,
Caleb Westberg Registrar Office of Records and Registration 9501 South King Drive - ADM 128 Chicago, IL 60628 773-995-2517 (phone) 773-995-3618 (fax) CSU-Registrarcsu.edu
OkutaNla: With the kind of fighting spirit that Tinubu has demonstrated thus far, I dare say he's more than capable and equipped to beat Atiku like a drum.
Besides, this APC primary has shown once and for all that power is never served a la carte. You have to fight for it. And boy did Tinubu fight for the ticket or what? Against all odds, 'cabals', hatred, and bile from all angles, he's picking the ticket. That man fit be the 'Last Lion' (to borrow from Winston Churchill) of our time.
There's no fighting spirit it's just money speaking.
Money ill gotten from government positions is being uses to buy anything needed to win.
He already bowed to northerners; how much did he donate to northern states as against Southern States.
Asianjollof007: Wike is the only man that can transform this country if given chance, the only man that won't bow to the northerners. He has this quality i have never seen in other southern aspirants, love him or hate him wike is a bold and strong man.
It's not about courage or being a strong man, it's about WHO CAN DOLE OUT MONEY TO BUY DELEGATES.
HOWEVER, if Wike was SMART, he should have known that splashing 500 million for Sokoto market rebuild and 200 million for IDP in Benue, etc wouldn't work given the way northerners play politics.
Throwback: If only his people have half the courage of Wike.
A politician from Abia (Orji Kalu) who is qualified, would rather support a NorthEast (Ahmed Lawan) politician who has chosen to compete unlike him who chose not to.
Count Christians out and call a spade a spade. Do you have any example of Christians in Nigeria killing someone for blasphemy?
KingOfAmebo: History tells us that religious leaders not politcians set nations ablaze, look at what happened during the roman empire, look at what happened during the massacre of Jews and now Nigeria, our religious leaders are the ones flaming the fire of discord in this present religious crisis that would set this nation ablaze if not averted.
I think we should abolish religion in Nigeria and anyone seen worshipping in any mosques or churches should be arrested.
Religion has done more harm than good in Nigeria because people, religion brought boko-haram, we have religion yet there are still news of ritual killings here and there, religion brought the thirst for money and envy because the so called men of God no longer attends the burial of the poor.....(A priest refused to offer mass for a dead member simply because he was owing the church.)
Religion is a cancer to Africa because this is not our way of life.
Just imagine this cover up for worst looter ever. Very shameful.
Blaming the Whites for blatant corruption committed by a dictator, tyrant who wanted to become life President so that he would steal till eternity.
He traded oil via blackmarket, blah, blah, blah! And the Whites forced him to hide the money he was paid in different countries via which account numbers. The sellers couldn't pay him in Naira through Nigerian banks.
How does it make sense that he stashed money paid to him in the country of same people that sanctioned him.
Why didn't him sell the crude through the appropriate ministry. He sold crude singlehandedly and concealed the deal as a common thief.
Number1benue: Finally someone who knows their history........
When buhari said abacha did not steal a dime they thought he was lying or just covering abacha.......... Our people still see the whites as the good guys...
Abacha was executed cause he was beginning to circumvent around the sanctions that was placed around his government, so he had to be killed for it...
People that came after stole all what they could while they keep using his name as scapehoat for the plunders they've done
I don't think any politician could beat Abacha's record! How many decades since he died they're still discovering govt money he stole.
His wife even have a university. Why haven't our goverment seized it. Northerners are feared too much in this country. If he was a Southerner EFCC, etc would've confisticated all his assets.
oluwaseyi0: If all this is just only Abacha loot imagine what all the politicians have looted from Nigeria
Even on individual basis don't be surprise if Abacha end up not having a place in top 10 Nigeria looters of all time
Prokaryote: Very irresponsible boy not worth to be called a Man.... Shame no catch you, first you kept some1 daughter in your house for 9 years without paying her dowry when you know how strong dowry payment is in igbo land. 2, you expect your little sister to continue tolorating your irresponsible character, you can't manage your family, you want to manage your sis, na person like you portable go dey take shine online ---2face must have tolerated annie family so much all for love...I hail you 2Baba
Rohr should have been allowed to see out his contract
Not necessarily because Rohr was doing well but because there was simply not enough time for a new coach to build a new team to play these important qualifiers
World cup qualifiers is NOT an avenue to try out new players but that was basically what Eguavoen had to do with Bassey, Lookman, and Emmanuel Dennis
Yemideee: You nairalanders should please stop being bias against women. For a woman to have stood with a man at the height of his illness (according to the write up) and later abandon the man could be due to several reasons..
What if the man became someone else due to his financial strait and the woman couldn't cope again;I have seen men who reverted to dangerous habits all because they lost their source of livelihood.. I have seen otherwise responsible men who upon experiencing financial problems turned to wife beaters and irresponsible fathers.. I am not calling Julius Agwu irresponsible,I am just trying to stress the fact that we should all be open minded . What if the man's family have been giving her tough time.. I know for a fact that the Igbo culture and the African culture by extension is not always kind to women in situations when things are not going smoothly and sometimes even when they are...The possibilities are endless..
The woman could indeed also have left him because of the reasons y'all said..but we couldn't be so sure..
For the 'redpillers' calling women scum..you guys are actually the scum...and I find it a shameful thing that you don't have the decency to show a lil bit of respect to the gender largely responsible for your existence.
Mr Julius Agwu is not Igbo. Thus, it's incorrect to bring Igbo culture into this matter.
You could contribute to this discourse without tribal sentiments.
You wrote as if you knew Igbo culture. How does Igbo culture or family treats woman when her husband is down?
Yes, I'm a proud Aro man. However, I don't apply sentiments when it comes to elections. Tribal politics have been our undoing for decades in Nigeria. If we're objective only non-corrupt, young, healthy and intelligent aspirant should be voted in, otherwise the suffering continues.
Ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo has denied backing an igbo presidency in 2023, POLITICS NIGERIA has learned.
Obasanjo on Saturday refuted reports that he supported the clamour for Igbo presidency.
It can be recalled that the former leader while receiving a 2023 presidential aspirant, Mao Ohuabunwa, last week, reportedly stated that he would like to see a South-Easterner become President as they have a lot to contribute to the country.
However, in a swift response through his Media Aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, OBJ denied ever making such a comment.
He criticised Ohuabunwa and accused him of being behind the report. "If that was the way the presidential aspirant wanted to approach his ambition; such was a wrong way."
"He came here and the former President received him as a gentleman and in the spirit of his 85th birthday celebrations only for him to go and put words into his mouth. Baba is not that sort of man and if that is the way he wants to fulfil his ambition that is a wrong way."
Barely 11 months to the 2023 general elections, there is a central thread of discourse in the nation on the possibility of a president of Igbo extraction. Proponents of the quest for a Nigerian leader from the Igbo dominated South east axis premise it on six standpoints: Tripod nature of the nation, equity, justice, unity, peace and fair play.
Some of the contenders for the presidency from the South-East are Anyim Pius Anyim and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi State), Kingsley Moghalu (Anambra State), Orji Uzor Kalu and Sam Ohuabunwa (Abia State), Rochas Okorocha (Imo State), Chris Baywood of Baywood Foundation (Enugu) and others expected to make their intention known in the coming days.
While Kalu, Umahi and Okorocha are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the likes of Anyim and Ohuabunwa are in the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Hello all, please stop wasting your time over nothing. You've to consider credibility of blogger/writer to know if it worths it...it doesn't in every sense. Kindly use your time wisely, in reasonable posts. Best wishes.
So your grandma from Umuahia is either a slave or an outcast? And she was only married by your Ikwerre grandad as a farm hand, more so as an Igbo woman she has no culture...very interesting narative.
Secondly, despite your grandma being a slave, your superior Ikwerre people have no language but speaks the Igbo language of your forementioned grandma whom you've insulted on social media.
Thirdly, so famous Arochukwu indigenes migrated to Ikwerre Land which is located where? Probably located in Benin Kingdom.
Benin people like yourselves should know that they're visitors in Rivers State, and should really go back to Edo State.
Every sensible Nigerian knows that you tiny Ikwerre people can never measure up to the Igbos (a major tribe) in any way. I understand that the Benin Kingdom you guys claim to have originated from have rejected you all as it is evidently a false claim.
I wish you guys good luck in tracing your background.
chrisxxx: I will tell you what I observed about my people as an Ikwerre man. I am reasoning that the first set of Igbo people the Ikwerre people met were either slaves or outcast. Ikwerre people generally view Igbo people to be same till date. They call them Isoma. This is a derogatory name for anyone with no culture. And that is why when you refer him to be an Igbo person he immediately interpret to mean an Isoma person who has no culture. This disdain towards the Igbos is the cause of the Igbophobia. They got married to them those days but use them mostly as farm hands. If there was a Task none would accept to do they would look for añ Isoma person. You can carry out a personal research on this as I am telling you the truth. I am Ikwerre but my grandma was Umuahia. You might hear even some acclaimed Ikwerre saying they are Igbos. These people have parents that were originally Igbos and are discriminated in Ikwerre land. During the Aro Confederacy many of them migrated to Ikwerre land. But at the beginning of the war some ran back others who couldn't because of inability to trace their homes were adopted and most times given a place to settle outside the main community. Till date their descendants are still discriminated. They are usually the Ikwerre people who are vociferous to say Ikwerre is Igbo. The most demeaning thing I notice you can do to an Ikwerre man is to call him an Igbo man or Isoma. You have indirectly called him a slave. It is not only Wike it is with all of us. Even those whose maternal home is Igbo immediately key into this obsession.
That's how a dwarfed Hitler just thought of conquering the world, and Abacha almost selling Nigeria. Davido and Ubi Franklin imprgnating almost everything in skirt. El,Rufai, Peter Obi , Tinubu, Obiano, Mazi Kanu e.t.c
The world would have been a better a place with ONLY tall lots
