It is not the act of looking at the woman that is a sin, it is the lust or thought of sex with her that is the sin.

Looking at my brothers wife is not a sin but the moment i think how great sex with her is, i have crossed the line. That becomes sin. If looking at women is a sin, we will all be sinners and will be sinning every day and night.

In the same vein, it is not drunkenness that is the sin, it is what you mind thinks and the actions you do that is the sin. We also know that drunkenness leads to a lack of self control which also leads to sin.

Note also that lack of self control is not sin but the influence of lack of self control leads to sin. For eg, you drink beer and get drunk, you get more confidence and approach a prostitute. You dont care about how hungry your children are, you just need sex, you pay any amount to have sex. Sex is the sin but not the act of paying money or drunkenness. Ordinarily, you would not have done that but for the influence of alcohol.

Finally, it is my opinion that alot of Christians are reading the bible out of context including you. You quote a verse to support your opinion but unfortunately the context of the verse you are quoting is different. It means you are guilty of twisting the word of God which in my opinion is wrong but may not be a sin. However it is false proclamation.

Excuse to drink and get drunk. OYO
