BItt: I believe the most logical theodicy is that God Himself is a product of evolution. He has to create us through evolution because He Himself evolved, and thus to understand Him, we have to go through an evolutionary process.
Of course, this train of logic has to stop somewhere. At some point, there has to be a God or gods who was/were not created, but who simply arose by accident. In other words, at some point "up the chain," there has to be a being or set of beings for whom atheism is true--in other words,
there has to be a being or set of beings who really are "alone" in the sense that there is no one "higher" than them who they can pray to. They/He just has to handle life as it comes, and that is it.
If course, all this is just my conjecture. It is heresy, if you ask most Christians. Feel free to DM me if you want to discuss such ideas more in depth. Being means To Be, where is "To Be" coming from? Unless this god is a non being but wait a minute, Can you have existence without non Existence, you can't have one without the other, who created non Existence? |

Emusan: Then point out where speaking in tongues was done in the Bible in a language understand by human apart from that Acts 2. The person speaking in tongue is speaking a human language that has constructs. In the church of corinth where paul or whatever was talking to them about speaking in tongue, the corinth church members speaks greek, if a speaker comes and speak a foreign language to them they won't understand unless there is an interpreter like paul said. |

correctguy101: An energy body that retains any sort of character/attribut after any form of disembodiment.
As for reincarnation. OP is probably correct with the energy conservation and conversion talk. All forms of energy is always recycled, split (and who knows if there's a way we're currently unawares of where energy is born from nothingness ).
But I still hold that very few instances exists where the recycle will let anyone retain any memories or traits or mark. Seen first hand the mark aspect of these recycling talk.
But whether a former trait or mark is retained or not, all energy will always pass through this processes, oftentimes coming out with several other atoms added or removed. But at the end of the day The Recycling Has Happened The self is supra individual, is just like throwing a drop of water in the ocean but you are now looking for that same exact drop in the ocean which some call Reincarnation. People that sprout this should ask themselves, "who am I". We are a drop in the ocean, and an ocean in a drop. |

Emusan: AS STATED IN Acts on Pentecost day you mean. As stated in New Testament. Speaking in Tongues, Greek word γλῶσσα (glōssa \GLOHSS sah\) is used 49 times in the Greek New Testament. By far, the most prominent use of the word is in 1 Corinthians, where it is found 21 times. The next closest competitors are Revelation (8 times) and Acts (6 times), each of which is more than the 5 times it is found in all four Gospels combined. |

KnownUnknown: The hardest part has already been done by the time a pastor acquires his members. Since they have been brainwashed all their lives and are bombarded by constant propaganda, the extraordinary stories and claims about their religions, that wouldn’t be beloved otherwise, are taken as fact. The pastor also has it easy because their members have been taught to revere the clergy. You can see an example of this in the story of Abraham where he gave 10 percent of his pillage to Melchizedek the priest.
So, all the pastor needs is tutelage under another pastor and experience teaching the congregation form the book. A touch of razzle dazzle does the rest.
Check out the razzle dazzle below by the conmen of Rome. When the marks see that stage they would feel awe and say something like “that’s so powerful” Insightful. |

Emusan: The Acts 2:4 says "The Holy Spirit took control of everyone, and they began speaking whatever languages the Spirit let them speak."
Notice @underlined, the Holy Spirit chooses to let them SPEAK IN THAT ARRANGEMENT. Which is what the Holy Spirit wants to achieve at that time. ? You said same thing, the coherent languages that these people will speak will be selected by these spirits. The "language" there was talking about known languages not gibberish. https://www.nairaland.com/7794656/ecstatic-utterancesThese books were written in greek, to better understand it, you can try go back there. |

gisevak: Atheism is primarily characterized by the absence of belief in deities, it can be considered a belief system in the sense that it provides a framework for understanding the world, shaping values, and guiding behavior, similar to how religious belief systems operate. A belief system needs a belief different from absence of any belief. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Supernatural Powers Does Not Exist, They Lied To Us. by Maynman: 5:50pm On Sep 10, 2023 |
gisevak: While I understand your point, agnosticism is about acknowledging the limits of human knowledge and being open to the possibility of things we cannot definitively prove or disprove. In the case of Tom and Jerry, they are fictional cartoon characters, and there's no empirical evidence to suggest they exist in the physical world. However, the concept of existence can vary depending on context, belief, or interpretation. Agnosticism doesn't necessarily claim absolute proof of non-existence but rather maintains an open stance, emphasizing the need for empirical evidence when discussing the existence of entities in the material universe. Agnosticism is a BELIEF, all dictionaries says so even Huxley said "Nowadays, the term “agnostic” is often used (when the issue is God’s existence) to refer to those who follow the recommendation expressed in the conclusion of Huxley’s argument: an agnostic is a person who has entertained the proposition that there is a God but believes neither that it is true nor that it is false." All gods without exception is also a mythological fiction. There is no emperical evidence to suggest any deity exist in the universe. Why is agnosticism not agnostic to Tom and Jerry? Why not also "maintains an open stance, emphasizing the need for empirical evidence when discussing the existence of entities in the material universe"? Tom and Jerry could exist beyond cartoons. |
