Car Talk › Re: Rav4 2007 V6 Transmission Problem by mayor2013: 7:54pm On Jan 16, 2015
Go and buy another transmission. From your story you have a bad maintenance record for your transmission. For you to have a burnt smell from the oil you must have had the fibre burnt and sludges too. Those sludges still had the fibres grip well but as soon as the oil was drain the sludges couldn't hold on to the fibre. You can as well run a scan. But be prepared to buy another transmission. If I were your mechanic immediately I check the nature of your transmission oil would have told you same thing am saying. Am very sure you have never serviced that transmission right from whenever you bought the ride

Iridium is a recommended spark plug and the price is 3k per one. Nevertheless since yours has never been changed pull it out and use the spec to buy another one

A proper trouble shooting needs to be done before concluding that your ECU is the culprit. Go run a scan first and post fault codes here

That sign means there is a likely problem or a problem with your power train ( engine and transmission ) In order for you to narrow it down first thing you need to do is to run a scan. If you reside in lagos call 08165520837 to run a scan

Car Talk › Re: Repeated Burning Of 08/09 Toyota Corolla Ac Compressor by mayor2013: 8:47am On Jan 05, 2015
Your case seems critical and in tackling this issue the entire wiring system has to be checked. Am sure your car wasn't like this and some road side rewires must have done some Acradabada on it. Get a competent electrician to check it for you. Am sure the previous electrician must have done some wrong connections
Car Talk › Re: Plz Help Me On Transmission Issue (updated) by mayor2013: 12:33pm On Jan 04, 2015

Thanks all. We checked today and it was indeed the mount...in really bad shape it was!

Please, a scan was run and it showed that the ABS left sensor (front and back) was faulty. I asked them to do this cause the ABS was always showing on the dashboard while driving. Please do I need to replace this or just repair? Both front and rear the machine detected as faulty. Advice pls.
The sensor itself could be bad but am sure the wire could have been over stretched or cut, which ever one is being said to be bad from the result of the scan should be checked

kelechi04:
The Toyota branded ATF I know is the one that is called Toyota Type IV. It is sold in 4 litre tins and its not Dextron III. Its not for 2000 sienna. please if you know of anyone. Be more specific, as long as its Dextron III. Mobil has Dextron II. I need Dextron III.
Go to your engine bay. Bring out the dip stick for guaging your transmission oil and check clearly what is written there.
Car Talk › Re: Banging Sound On Reverse Gear 2000 sienna by mayor2013: 5:23pm On Jan 03, 2015
Oando dextron 111 shocked. Is that the recommended ATF for your car. If am not mistakened yours should be toyota Type IV .as for the jerk and loud sound when you engage the transmission ask your mechanic to properly inspect your engine mount and transmission mount. There is a more professional way of checking. If any one need be changed an advice do not follow the idea of replacing the engine mount with a bushing. Get a well graded toks
Car Talk › Re: Golf 4 Jerking by mayor2013: 12:26pm On Jan 03, 2015
If the jerking occurs when the car is on motion then we could be looking @ thousand and one things but if that sound exists when you engage the transmission. Check your engine and transmission mounts. But as for the jerking while on motion to nail down the culprit run a scan on your car
