You need to run a scan on the car. That should narrow down the cause of the Malfunction indicator light coming popping up on your instrument cluster. Why use total quartz 5000 since its not the right egine oil to use. Remember this is a VW. Any slightest of abuse would be detrimental to the car |
Do not Use any of the above you have said sir. As for number 1 you would end up clogging up your injectors thereby causing driveability issues |
honmusa:I see |
Izyokeke:Though I wouldn't rule out running a scan too |
@ op there is a voltage drop some where. I advice you do a voltage drop test that would reveal where you have a short in the circuit. Do you have any after market gadgets installed in the car if yes I advice you uninstall them too but before that. Also do a parastic drain test. As for the electronic voltage regulator its right in your alternator but since you said you have changed alternator 4 times all to no avail I would rule that out. Note that the maximum the voltage drop between your alternator and battery should be 0.4v anything out side this should tell you there is a problem within the circuit. Lastly take your car away from that incompetent kazeem mechanic you have . I hope this helps you |
Ask your mechanic to check your transmission mounts and egine mounts(4 in number). |
Let her ride on buying the car. 18yrs old girl is already driving a car. No big issue about that |
. |
Simply nothing wrong with an ME system. One thing I would advice again is avoid the auto transmission. The slightest of all abuse is very dangerous |
GAZZUZZ: ![]() |
To start with what type of oil do you use? |
Yes it damages the compressor. That is why some manufacturers have gone the extra mile to install an electronic sensor on their compressor so in the cases where the road is water logged a signal is sent to the computer box and in turns shuts down the climate control system |
Your Malfunction indicator light should be on. Run a scan first. As for changing your fluid to z-1 yes that's correct but am afraid it might be late considering how long you have had the sea horse ruining your gearbox |
Go get another engine |
Now reading this I would say is making laugh . @ op you claimed that your mechanic was able to seal up one end of the power steering rack. Just to point out something don't you feel the pressure mounted at the said end would force the power steering fluid quickly to the other end there by causing un easy flow of fluid through the rack thereby causing the other seal to worn in time like you stated earlier in your post. @ op you want to know the truth or continue throwing money around? go change your power steering rack |
Have actually recommended a competent Ac tech. Follow this thread below to see where I made the recommendation even pix of the job done by the Ac tech was posted, if you are in lagos its better. You can send me a msg on whats app (08156087872) https://www.nairaland.com/2167134/please-recommend-good-toyota-ac |

Justbright:You can't get an 06 for 1.4m unless you need one without a clean history (accidented) |
Justbright:Same body size |
It can't be done but doubt their competency. If you are going for the corolla make your research well. The limited edition (LE) is better compared to the classic edition (CE). Reason the ce comes with a manual glass winding compared to the LE which is automated. The LE comes with ABS ( antilock braking system) while the Ce doesn't. The 03/04 is same with 05/06. Just some minor differences from the logo region in front is diff frm the 05/06. Looking at the interior again at the cluster the 03/04 illuminates in white while the the 05/06 has a black like cluster. Its a good car I use the 2007 LE of it and its being superb. I just hope the one you getting at cotonu still has its catalytic conveter intact. Happy landing on your new ride ![]() |
Have you had the car diagnosed? Perhaps you should have your MIL on. So run a scan on the your computer box |
State the problem with your car |
There are a lot of mechanics there |
State the problem you have with your ride |
5w20 for your engine oil while your transmission oil is Dw1 or z-1 fluid |
Raymondenyi:Buying another exhaust when yours is okay. If you are given the price you might frown at it |
From your result its obvious your kazeem mechanic is just wasting your money. Bank1 catalyst can be accesed right frm your engine bay. That is the first catalyst that runs from the exhaust manifold to the engine. You better rescue your car from his hands. As for the rest of the codes which are pending go to your gas tank cover and check if its properly closed |
Ecu means electronic control unit aka brain box. Where in lagos are you located |
honmusa:Are your catalytic converters new or used? |
First get your old ecu back. There are a lot of peeps here that can run a scan for you. GAZZUZZ is one of them. Are you in lagos? |
olakunbiajayi:A lot of things could cause start up issues on your ride. The lists are numerous. Have you run a diagnostic scan on the car. That would narrow you down to the problem rather than ruling out the foundation to the cause of the problem |
Raymondenyi:Get a competent person to do the job for you |
