@ op go do a complete tune up which involves changing of spark plugs, servicing of injector noozles, checking of fuel pump pressure and servicing of inlet manifold.

. I bet you wouldn't use it for a week before you come back asking for another type. The front shock should go for 25k while the rear should go for 15k. For an original shock. But if you want something that was filled with groundnut oil grin

Thanks a million. My mechanic has been able to find away round shifting the gear. When i get home i 'll park the car and get the atf flushed tomorrow and filled with proper atf. I also learnt i need to replace the brake switch

Go to your car check the brake light and see if it comes on when you step on your brake pedal, for the hard shift from park position I concur that you have to change your brake switch

Go scan your ride. Your car problem sounds more of a gear box issue. Did you use the right transmission oil huh

Does your transmission shift fine, what kind of engine oil did you use to service the car? What kind of transmission oil did you use to service your gear box? Does the car move sluggishly? Answer all this. But an advice stoo driving that car for now with its present condition

This is a straight forward job. Go back to the mechanic that worked on your car am sure while he was fixing d shaft he probably forgot to connect back the vechicle speed sensor which is located on the gear box close to the drive shaft that was worked upon. Tell him to check it properly

its needs to be scanned and you will get a code from the scan and that code will pin point what is wrong

For a maintenance required. You need to run a scan grin

All he needs do is an oil change and change your oil filter and reset the oil life to 100%

Hi Nlanders,

I had my injectors cleaned and changed my 4 plugs. My mechanic said he cleaned the injector head with thinner and applied oil treatment to stop a tampering sound from the engine. Now my car drives quieter but the idle is high. around 1500 to 1800 on cold start and drops to 1200 rpm.

How can I reduce the idle to the factory default at 700? I read stuff online and it said I have to perform the idle re-learn procedure, what is that?

@ op lets get something straight here. Are you talking about your throttle body locally called injector mouth or your injector noozles or both?

frm what u mentioned might nt b what is causing d fault.cos d op didn't mention it as y he asked d mech to service d fuel line of the car.The mech should recheck d injector seals,the plugs n d air flowmeter hose if damaged.

For a camry 1999-2000 it has nothing to do with your abs.

Yes I concur a vss could cause that. It is usually located on the gear box towards the drive shaft region

For a honda 5w20 is the recommended. The price of the engine is btw what Gazzuzz quoted for you. Had it priced last year. Hope it hasn't shoot up since dollar is now 201 naira shocked

Kashif, you still have not said what type of fluid you used.

When clutches start slipping, best bet is to replace transmission. Its a nigerian thing, rebuilding has no guarantees.

Meanwhile I ask again, what fluid did you use? Visco 2000?
