I have just gone through the board composition of Guarantee Trust Bank otherwise known as GTB and the Redeemed Church only to discover there is no federal character in the composition of these boards, as a matter of fact, no Igbo man is part of these boards whereas most of the contributors of these organizations are people from the east. This is uncharitable.
I think that the time has come in this country that any organization that excludes a people from its organization board should not be allowed to operate in that region.

ENUGU— ON a day waves of condemnation trailed his arrest, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday, flew Chairman of Innoson Group of Companies, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, to Lagos in shorts, according to one of his aides.

Chief Chukwuma, was however, released, last night. EFCC which confirmed the release said the Innoson boss was arrested for alleged tax fraud and forgery.

The agency flew him to Lagos wearing only shorts and a shirt through Air Peace flight that left Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, at 1:45pm.

Chukwuma was driven in a convoy from the EFCC Enugu office where he was detained after his forcible arrest at his Enugu residence, Tuesday.

A staff of Innoson Company said the businessman was neither allowed to take his bath nor change his wears since he was arrested by the EFCC on Tuesday morning.

Head, Corporate Communications of Innoson Group, Cornel Osigwe, in a statement in Enugu, yesterday, maintained that Chukwuma is not a criminal and was never invited by the EFCC before the arrest.

Yinka Odumakin is using Ibo to his selfish advantage. He realizes they have lost their voice on the political landscape, they need a strong surrogate to sponsor their recovery, which Yoruba mainstream is not interested in, and Yinka has been soliciting them with a hopeless but unattainable goal just to remain politically visible.

Where was Yinka to ally with Ohanaeze in all the administrations prior to Buhari? Ibo did not matter to him until he was sidelined by APC....and relegated to the back and out view. All of a sudden he realizes Yoruba and Ibo has something in common.

The auditing covers a period from March 2004 to December 2011.

A man identified as Chukwudi Iwuchukwu has allegedly shut down his bank account with Guaranty trust bank following the recent issue the bank has with Innoson motors boss, Chief Innocent Chukwuma.

It will be recalled that Chukwuma was arrested by the Economic and financial crimes commission, EFCC, in Enugu on Tuesday morning. He accused GTB of being behind his ordeal because of a debt the bank owed him.

Iwuchukwu took to Facebook to announce his decision;

This morning, I walked into the nearest GTB branch and requested for a form to close our company account with them.

The gorgeous lady who attended to me wanted to know why I was closing the account and moving the funds to Zenith bank.

I told her is very simple! I’m taking this action as a form of protest to the bank for the way they handled the Innoson saga and most importantly, for victimizing the man simply because of business transaction that went wrong.

Not only this, I have been on the phone since morning talking to 2 of my friends who are billionaires and who have billions of their company’s fund with the bank to move it as well.

Thank God they have done that, one authorized his accountant to move the funds from GTB to first bank, the other one from GTB to Zenith bank

The lady was dazed and I think it is very important the management of GTB get this memo.

I’m not a tribalist, I avoid tribal sentiments 
but you see there is a limit to what you see and observe happening to your people without taking action to protest.

What Innoson is going through in the hands of GTB is corporate wickedness and witchcraft.

I call on young And older entrepreneurs who have their business funds in that bank should move it today, not tomorrow but today in solidarity with our brother, jewel and one of our brightest son who slept in EFCC custody last night because of GTB.

We need to boycott GTB for being a useless bank and boycott them for good.

Iwuchukwu should show his solidary in real terms. Offset what Innoson owe GTB with all your balance in the bank. Thats how you protest as a man!

There few steps Ibo can take to heal your bruised ego and prove you are indomitable, independent and economically unstoppable.

1. All Ibo businessmen whose loan with GTB is still being serviced should approach Fidelity (Peter Obi's bank) and ask them to acquire your loan from GTB immediately.

2. Whether you withdraw your savings or not, Innoson still owe GTB billions of naira. All Ibos with deposits in GTB should show solidarity and love for Innoson by writing to GTB to liquidate your account and charge the credit balance against Innoson's debt to help reduce his balance.

3. Fidelity should prove its love for Ibo buying Innoson's debt from GTB and bring his debit balance to 0.

Anything short of these three steps is just a parade of circus clowns by SE.

All transactions between individuals and banks are private and personal, government does not involve itself in the personal contract. Even if an individual defaults on a loan the most a commercial bank could do is initiate recovery action which usually start with the collateral, if there is one. The next stage is legal action, and the last is a writeoff and then blacklisting. Government is never called in to intervene in a matter between an individual and their bank in normal instances.

If a fraud or criminal activity has taken place on a individual account, a bank can invite government for forensic investigation. This is very rare because banks usually have their own shady deals they are trying to keep covered and under cloak of drkness and so they will never approach government into their business even at most disadvantage against a client. Theyd rather hire private investigator and get their legal department involved.

When government is involved in a bank account usually they have been monitoring that account for a while and with surveillance. Government likes to keep credibility intact and avoid embarassment with public. So they restrain and are cautious about taking impulsive action that will prove unproductive and end in embarassments. Account scrutiny and surveillance can take months, sometimes years gathering evidence and collecting forensic footprints and trails of money movements in and out of an account, sometimes across many countries and they may even involve security agencies in other countries to establish proper protocol and jurisdiction.

So for someone as high placed as Innoson to be invited by EFCC there is a lot going on the fraud/criminal side...more than likely funding for a terrorist group, money laundering, drug cartel protection money, and so on.

Innocent Chukwuma should not be giving interview so soon unless hebis attempting to get public empathy to his side. If hands are clean he should support government investigation and give all assistance he can to get to the bottom of the issue. Coming on TV to talk about what banks owe to him is a deflection and is read as someone trying not to sink in the sorrounding pool of evidence accusing him of wrongdoing. At the EFCC interrogation they must have showed him some basic evidence, not all...its a setup...a hook to get him to panic and start covering his footprints or trying to erase tracks.

This last week has been filled with stories of the EFCC ruffling anyone from Saraki to David Mark after they had private meeting with Atiku ..so I wont be suprised this is in the same light because the Innoson GTB case has been on for over a decade and they have both handled it maturely so it definitely cant be the one here

Government does not interfere in personal contract between private citizen and a commercial bank, unless a flag went off. They also will not jump in on first flag....usually an arrest is preceeded by a lenghty monitoring gathering evidence and recording activities to use for convinction. When they finally make a move for arrest the preliminaries is already covered and they are ready for court.

What is that flag that triggered EFCC looking into Innoson's account?


Also, beware....EFCC has been in this business since 1998. The current Director, MAGU has been an investigator since when Ribadu was Director. They have uncovered bigger fishes than Innoson. Keep an open mind. Innoson will damage his case if he takes it to the public for empathy it will end in social media. Thats what EFCC want. It sets off a chain reactions and chatter and opportunity to collect more information.
