PoliticsGive Pdp Presidential Slot To Benue To Prove North Unity by MayorofLagos(op): 3:09am On Jan 20, 2018
1 -
I have wondered many times the logic behind a widespread support in South, inspite of outcry against Islamization, of Muslim candidates for both major political parties, APC and PDP. It would make sense that Southerners should agitate for diversity from the North. APC has Buhari, who in all likelihood will run for a second term. PDP is yet to get a Presidential candidate. Why are Southerners not agitating the call for a Christian Northerner to be PDP Flagbearer in 2019? The call should start now with the opportunity presented in Benue.

Southerners must be careful and pay attention. Paul Unongo revealed that Atiku Abubakar is a financier for herdsmen. Southerners have not pondered why such a statement from Mr Unongo. Atiku currently has more supporters in South than he does in North. The Northern cabal is more powerful than Atiku, they will occupy his administration and do to him what they are doing to Buhari.
Much as he is for restructuring when he enters Aso his policies on restructuring will be pro-North. Has anyone heard him talk decidedly on bokoharam or fulani terror? NO. ...when the issue of Ipob and Kaduna Declaration was hot he was always heard from.

2 -
Weeks earlier, before herdsmen attack in his state, the Chairman of Northern Elders Forum, Mr Paul Unongo had issued a public statement in which he lambasted the champions of restructuring, telling them restructuring is an ambigous word that means different things to different people. He instructed them to approach the National Assembly with their grievances and stop making disturbing noises in public.

After the attack and massacre of his kins Unongo appears to have a new awakening on the issue of ethnic identity and ethnic patriotism. The mirror of reality was presented to him by no other than Arewa Elders.

The Elders of Arewa is the supervisory organ for all political forecasting and action in the North.
They are already in calculation that either way it goes, Southerners are going to vote either APC or PDP into power. Either way it goes, a Muslim and Fulani will be the victor. Either way it goes, the victor must adopt the agenda of Arewa (North does not have an agenda, only Arewa does).
Therefore both candidates must be tidied up and defended against risks.

Paul Unongo spoke out and attacked Atiku for sponsoring Fulani killer squad. The Elders of Arewa came out and scolded their chairman for speaking out of turn. They did not ask him to clarify and give facts, they simply told him to drop the idea and keep quiet. They did not even make statement to console the people of Benue.

Then a followup attack with far more deaths and losses happened. Elders of Arewa kept silent even when Miyetti Allah said the massacre would not have happened if Benue people were not trying to ban open grazing.

Then a bombshell came from Emir Sanusi that he and Sultan are patrons of Miyetti Allah. He did not reprimand the actions of the killer squad nor their outageous statement. He even went further by raising his dissatisfaction about local events in Taraba. This infers that the patrons endorsed the action and statements of miyetti, whether in their board room or in the field.

3 -
I don't know which occurred first, if it's the professing of a professor about ownership of Benue, or the public statement by Unongo stepping down from Chairmanship of Arewa Elders, but by all means, and in all of these, the Nation, Benue people and Unongo are witnessing a new reality about what it means to be a Northerner but not an Arewa.

There is nothing new in all of these to the Arewa afterall its their agenda and the way they planned it to play out. They did not even scold the professor for such a radical and irresponsible statement to a people in grief....his statement is pro-Fulani and pro-Arewa, thats all that matters, the grief in Benue would stop when the people allow Fulani occupy their land.

I would love to see a followup interview to Paul Unongo and get his born-again view on restructuring.

At his age I hope Paul lives long to witness the restruture of Nigeria and the liberation of his people from the clutches of Arewa. On the political front those leaders who are shocked into a new political radicalism always seem to be consumed by the grief brought in with new reality.
We recently lost Ekwueme to a similar radicalism in SE. I hope Unongo will survive this grief in his homeland and live long.

In closing I say give PDP Presidential slot to Benue or any Christian in North to show and prove diversity and unity in the much touted "19 Northern States"

This is a golden opportunity for the Middlebelt to break away from North. Following the resignation of the elder state man Unogo as the Chairman Arewa Forum due to the wicked silence of the elders from Fulani dominate North to condemn the genocide in Benue. You can be sure that if Gov Or tomorrow should pull out, the Taraba Gov will follow suite and gradually Middlebelt shall be free. Benue people wake up, tell your Gov not to listen to El-Rufai, remember he paid the Fulani people for killing people in Southern Kaduna?
I endorse this message.

This is probably the real reason why they don't won't open up a factory in Nigeria

Samsung says broadband makes South Africa mobile market bigger than Nigeria’s ON JANUARY 18, 20188:36 PMIN NEWS, TECHNOLOGYCOMMENTS By Prince Osuagwu Samsung Electronics yesterday said South Africa’s mobile market is still stronger than that of Nigeria despite huge difference in population. The company, however, said that Nigeria has the potential to overtake the market with time adding that developments in the market at the moment has already shown that this would not take long to happen. Chief Executive Officer, Samsung Africa, Mr Sung Yoon, said despite South Africa’s population being a fraction of Nigeria’s,deep broadband penetration and almost total adoption of smartphone, makes the market bigger. According to him, “South Africa has almost 95 percent of its mobile market purely on smartphones and 4G/LTE has deep roots in the market unlike in Nigeria where in the overall market feature phones still takes a good percentage and 4GLTE is not widely accessible” Apparently, that could be why Yoon said that building a manufacturing plant in Nigeria is a project Samsung would not think about now but in the future. He said: “there are certain factors taken into consideration before building a manufacturing plant. We have to consider market size, Return on Investment and environment among others. But it is a thing we have to consider in the future” Yoon also hinted on why Samsung drastically reduced staff in its Nigerian office, saying, “in the heat of recession, we needed to do some adjustments. We needed to have more passionate, young and talented people while some others are dropping out. It is a normal company operational strategy not for any other reasons” he added.

Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/01/samsung-says-broadband-makes-south-africa-mobile-market-bigger-nigerias/

Also keep in mind that all their factories are located in Asia, none in Europe and America where they have a strong market and relative large market share. If America and Europe don't have a factory, it might be a bit ignorant to assume Nigeria will get one or Africa at large...
Over 70% of components in iPhone is Samsung licenced product. Its why samsung holds monopoly of mobile phones across the globe after Blackberry dropped out.

Meanwhile, Im getting Blackberry KeyOne soon. Have you seen it?

PoliticsFulani Group Reply Bishop Oyedepo by MayorofLagos(op): 5:29am On Jan 18, 2018
NEWSFulani herdsmen declare Jihad in letter to Bishop Oyedepo [VIDEO]Published on January 17, 2018 By Nsikak Nseyen

Founder and General overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide,David Oyedepo, has revealed that he received a letter from a coalition of Fulani herdsmen identified as, Fulani Nationality Movement saying there will be no peace until cattle colonies are established in all States in Nigeria.

Recall that, David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church, while condemning the incessant killing placed a curse on Fulani herdsmen for the killing of innocent Nigerians in the country.

In a video gone viral on Social Media, Oyedepo said he got a communique from the group saying God has given them the land, Nigeria and that there will be no peace unless cattle colonies are established.

He said, ”Just last night, I got this, believed to be from the Fulani Nationality Movement, saying that God has given them this land and that they have the right to live anywhere, and until the colony is established, there’ll be no rest in Nigeria.

”I heard them say that the cattle colony is the only solution to the crisis, whether the Government or State Government accept or not.

”We have asked all Fulani herdsmen all over West Africa to move to Nigeria and penetrate every corner for the upcoming Jihad.”

The cleric also stressed that he saw the situation coming and documented it. He said he saw it in 1992, and urged members of his church to pray to God to scatter the gang up.

PoliticsPatrons & Sponsors Of Fulani Herdsmen by MayorofLagos(op): 5:15am On Jan 18, 2018
Apart from its iniquity and brutality, very little was known of Nigerian Fulani herdsmen, rated by Global Terrorism Index as the fourth deadliest terrorist group in the world, coming after Boko Haram, ISIS and Al-Shabab. They reportedly killed about 1,229 Nigerians between 2013 and 2014. And since our traditional Fulani herdsmen don’t carry sophisticated arms, many had thought only infiltrators from neighbouring countries could have inflicted so much sorrow on innocent women and children across the Middle Belt of Nigeria. Armed with sophisticated weapons, these men whose identity, state of origin or nationality are unknown, killed, maimed and disappeared, leaving many in pain. Government even with its control of awesome apparatus of state power has yet to apprehend or prosecute any of their members.

The narrative however changed with last week intervention by Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II and Alhaji Sale Bayeri, the Secretary-General of Gan-Allah Fulani Development Association and member of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association’s (MACBAN) Board of Trustees. The former admitted he is a patron of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, the body that gives protection to Fulani herdsmen. Other patrons according to him include the Sultan of Sokoto, Lamido of Adamawa and emirs of Zazzau and Katsina.” The objective of the Fulani herdsmen umbrella body according to him is the “protection of the fundamental rights of herdsmen as Nigerians including constitutional right to freedom of movement and the ownership of private wealth and peaceful conduct of their business.”

He traces the cause of the crisis to “demographic implosion in the North, desertification, reduction in water reserves and competition for resources, crop production, animal husbandry and fishing” but blames the prolonged crisis and the attendant terrorism to “failure of political authority, the cynical manipulation of ethnic identity by failed governments and the impotence of our security machinery.”

He however vigorously defended the action of the herdsmen citing the alleged murder of “800 Fulani women, infants and the elderly.” whose personal dossier he claimed he “ personally handed over to the Federal Government with the names and pictures’ as well as names and addresses of persons known to have participated in these acts of ethnic cleansing”.

The latter, Alhaji Sale Bayeri, chose to warn us about the “grave consequences if 18 million Fulanis continue to perceive deliberate injustice”, threatening that “the Boko Haram insurgency would be a child’s play if herdsmen and farmers’ conflicts are not resolved in a way that is acceptable to all sides.” And what would appease the rampaging herdsmen, he said was contained in a 70-page letter he had sent to President Buhari before his inauguration. In it was a demand for an un-hindered grazing access in areas he identified as ‘trouble spots’ spread across 75 local government areas across 21 states including “ Oye Local Government in the northern part of Ekiti, Shaki in Oyo State, Akwa-Ibom, Cross River, Rivers, Delta, Edo, Bauchi, Gombe, Yola”.

And with foreboding finality, both Fulani leaders insist “Benue anti-grazing law cannot work”, while Bayeri seems to demand as of right that “there should be open grazing for those people who think it is traditional and cultural to do it because that is their only form of exercise, leisure and pleasure.” The ‘leisure and pleasure’ of herdsmen he seems to say, take precedence over ownership of cultivated farms or uncultivated land belonging to private individuals.

With such robust defence and backing of Fulani herdsmen by their principals, we need not ask the source of their sophisticated weapons, what embolden them to act with impunity and why no one has been brought to book to date.

The contempt and the arrogance exhibited by the aggressors while the bodies of their victims were about to be laid to rest once again raise the issue of restructuring as the only answer to our crisis of nationhood. It is apparent that some of our compatriots don’t believe we are running a federal system of government. This can only be the explanation why the Emir of Kano believes he can from his Kano fiefdom dictate to Benue State governor how to run the affairs of his state. Under a federal constitution, especially in an age when the federal arrangement has become market driven, the only option available to Emir Sanusi of Kano is to encourage settlers who are dissatisfied with Benue laws to migrate to Kano, if his fiefdom holds better prospects.

Within a federal set up, desert encroachment, population implosion or competition for resources may attract federal support but cannot be sufficient reasons to demand by force, free grazing zones in the farmlands of federating states or threat to invite fellow Fulani across the borders to unleash further terror if the federal government fails to prevail on recalcitrant states.

Beyond capturing territories, which His Royal Highness , Emir of Kano says is ‘daft argument’, it is not lost on many Nigerians that it is only those with mindset of feudal lords that will demand as of right to embark on open grazing across the farm lands of other federating states.

I sympathise with Governor Samuel Ortom and the people of Benue State who have just buried another set of 73 victims in the vicious cycle of terror that started in Tiv land long before independence. Unfortunately, until Governor Ortom, successive Tiv leaders betrayed the spirit of Joseph Tarka who along with Awo paid dearly for their attempt to create an identity for the Tiv people. Successive Tiv leaders including the David Mark, eight years Senate President and his group who are now threatening to set up an army have betrayed the Benue people by choosing to pick crumps from the table of those who have openly declared Tiv land as spoil of war following their great grandfather’s conquest of Tiv land.

And finally, I sympathise with President Buhari whose failure to seize an historic opportunity to become a statesman, with all his imperfections, alleged nepotism, cronyism and soft spot for Fulani herdsmen, he is the only Nigerian leader that has truly put Nigeria first not necessarily because of what he stands to gain politically or financially. He is unlike Obasanjo whose claim of being ‘Mr. Nigeria’ secured for him a military head of state and a two-term president when he would have not risen beyond a local council chairman due to the nature of politics of his Yoruba people.

I recently asked, unfortunately without getting an answer, someone I believe is sufficiently close enough to know the way the mind of the president works. It is curious that President Buhari would ignore the wise counsel of Nigerian patriots like Wole Soyinka, Emeka Anyaoku and others on restructuring and then move on to squander away the goodwill of millions of Nigerians who had wanted to make an Abraham Lincoln out of him, choosing to swim along with those with mindset of feudal lords and their public face like David Mark who has asked those who identified restructuring as answer to our crisis of nationality to “first restructure their minds”.

PoliticsRe: Vacate South-east Now – Ohanaeze Orders Fulani Herdsmen by MayorofLagos(m): 9:46pm On Jan 17, 2018
edunwablog:
The Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, Wednesday ordered Fulani herdsmen to vacate the zone forthwith.

The warning is contained in a statement issued after the OYC’s emergency meeting in Umuahia.

In a five-point communique signed by‎ Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, Secretary General and Engr Obinna Adibe the‎ National Publicity secretary, the group said the operation of herdsmen in the zone had been banned.

It read, “The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide met and discussed extensively the recent killing by Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria and resolved as follows:

“That the activities of Fulani herdsmen and the Benue massacre is unfortunate and can cause another avoidable tension in the country, especially now the 2019 elections is around the corner.

“We condemned vehemently the terrorist attack of the Fulani herdsmen and call for self defense as a measure to halt it.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council worldwide has banned and proscribed the outlawed Fulani herdsmen in Igboland especially in the 95 LGs of South East and call on the Youths not to take laws into their hands but want the federal government to declare them a terrorist group.

“We hail the People’s Governor of Abia Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and the heroic stand of Governor of Anambra Willie Obiano for rejecting the cattle colonies in Abia and Anambra states.

“We know other Igbo Governors will follow the footsteps of their colleagues and reject these anti people’s policy.

“We are calling on the federal government to establish piggies colonies in Northern Nigeria to help feed our people over there.“We are calling on our people to be vigilant and report to security agents the activities of any suspected Fulani herdsmen.

“We issue this warning to all the Fulani herdsmen that they should vacate South East immediately or face the wrath of Igbo Youths and any attempt to ignore this warning, they have themselves to blame.

“We restate that all the activities of Fulani herdsmen have been proscribed and banned in South-East with immediate effect.”
