I've been a proponent of the emboldened for years but I get shouted down by my own Yoruba folks who believe this current system makes sense.

With Nigeria slowly sinking into a mess right now - BHaram in the North, IPOB in the East and militancy looking like it is studying the terrain before it resumes. I believe this is the right time to school the myopic Yoruba to the benefit of regional system.
Ibos are going to get Biafra, there's no doubt about it. There is no Yoruba on the airwaves opposing it the way Northerners are agitating and threatening against it, or that Ibo elites are themselves opposed to liberation of their land.

The next sixteen years are politically gloomy for Yoruba in this country and the only relief we have is regionalism and or separation. At moment there is deliberation on what would happen to Government should Buhari not have capacity, either for health reason or death, to complete term. Democratically, Osinbajo will take over. That path has been blocked already in Legislature. El Rufai is being groomed for succession.
That's as far as APC goes.

For PDP, the zoning of their 2019 Presidential ticket to NE is for Atiku Abubakar. There is a plot to bring Atiku back to PDP. Saraki and Dogara are going to switch back to PDP and deliver for him. Atiku is over ambitious for his own good. He is not interested in the controls Buhari is installing against corruption. IBB, Abdulsalami, Atiku, Saraki....they will outflank Buhari, Tinubu and APC and return PDP to power. This time around they will go get a VP from SE.

Read the news since IPOB march started, if any Northerner spoke in favor of Biafra at all I guarantee you he is either from NE or in PDP.

Which days are you talking about? You mean our days? grin cheesy

The Ambode guy looks like he's here to mess up all of Fashola's work.

I remember watching his pre-election debate with Agbaje, I wasn't really impressed

Agbaje was really eloquent and came up brilliant ideas but he was a fffff.oooooo.lll so fv.ck his Ideas

But I'll still give Ambode some time though,I think its still too early to rate him.The Governor of Lagos is like the Governor of Nigeria so he has a lot on his shoulders
I believe by now, after several political successes and failures, Yorubas would reflect on the import of the phrase "Oba mewa, Igba mewa".

Let's get away from the mindset of comparing and start demanding for delivery. Fashola had what he was good for and Ambode has what he is good for. The two are never going to perform at same level but each must deliver what he has withing his capability to make happen. What we want is a build up so each successor picks up at value point a and delivers at value point z for the incoming administration to build more value on.

quimi,
Very good information on the stats and ranking of states.

Aare,
This is what im talking about. The producers at budgit should break down at regional or zonal level and we can use the Western data to put fire on our executives, not necessarily to compete with other regions....but to moreso to deliver for the people and our land.

Lol...eh...I not fearful of the Igbos here man.The Nigerians we have here are either in the medical field...mostly doctors and those who are working in jobs such as security, taxis, bar work, hairdressing etc.We also got some of y'all ex-militants for training in oil and gas and other vocations tongue. I trust should them reach dt level Trini ppl go be the 1st ones to say deport them lol.

One of my gf has a half igbo pikin...d guy from Anambra. The funny thing though...is naija always rating up Igbo ppl industriousness and business skills but we no dey feel their bizness presence here in Trini besides hairdressing.I thought that would have been at least one black group dt can compete with other races undecided, Ah well...
Ibos self promoted and marketed themselves as entrepreneuring and industrious soon after they flooded Lagos, not respecting that most enterprising and industrious city in Nigeria is Lagos and that all the industrial parks in Lagos are all in the sector politically belonging to the old Western Region and all owned or operated by Yorubas.

The natural attitude of Yoruba when confronted, even on aspects of socio economic landscape where he holds control, is to yield! We have zero consciousness on assertions and attack mode of relating with othrrs. We yield...always...and when pushed to corner we still dont know how to attack, our fight for survival is always on the defense mode.

The super industrious and hyper entrepreneurs of Lagos markets did not speak up and corrected Ibo's assertions.....and so Ibos took advantage and displaced Yoruba and then claimed industry and enterprise as an Ibo comparative advantage.

There is zero evidence in their own homeland to prove the assertion that they are giants of industry or that they are entrepreneurs. Just as you stated that you do not see the claim match to reality in Trini.

In fact, if I may add....Yorubas not only yiellded the ground to Ibo....we also started hailing their claim and telling everyone through our media about how Ibo is a genius in industry and enterprise.
PoliticsRe: Fulani Marauders At It Again In Enugu. Warnig Graphic Picture by MayorofLagos(m): 2:00am On Nov 10, 2015
Notice to all farmers to operate under one understanding.

1. When you see a fulani farmer on your farm, one of two things will happen:

a) you will challenge him and he will answer you back with a bullet to your skull or a machette blow to your skull.

b) you can ignore him and let me feed his cow on your sweat and you live to see another day.

If you must challenge fulani about his presence on your farm, do so with a bullet.....not with your voice.

Who lives to see another day between you and fulani depends on mode of communication, whether it was done verbally or with a bullet and by who!

The truth is that the herdsmen are very hostile and wicked. A special police force should be organized to manage their craze. Because the regular ones can not investigate them. All they do is travel and leave death in their wake.
You are correct but instead of special squad why not give policing to states?
PoliticsRe: Fulani Killed One Person In Enugu by MayorofLagos(op): 4:16am On Nov 09, 2015
Here is the truth, on matters relating to fulani herdsmen, if Ibos are not responding because they think the country will gang up against them, that'ts not true.

Machette Allah is the body that supply these criminals with their weapons. They have support from Arewa leaders to terrorize middle belt and south. Nobody in middle belt or sw will care how you respond to them or what you do to them.
PoliticsFulani Killed One Person In Enugu by MayorofLagos(op): 4:10am On Nov 09, 2015
Fear enveloped Egede community in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, following the alleged killing of an indigene by Fulani herdsmen.

It was gathered that the 42-year-old Chinwuba Ekwueme, father of three and a member of the Egede Neighbourhood Watch was reportedly murdered by AK- 47 wielding Fulani herdsmen.

The herdsmen were reportedly grazing their cattle in the community.

The situation has heightened tension in the area as community leaders make efforts to forestall reprisal attacks.

Chairman of Egede Neighbourhood Watch, Mr. Donatus Otie, who confirmed the killing, said the deceased was murdered by the herdsmen after other vigilante members took to their heels.

According to him, the herdsmen came shooting at the community vigilante members.

The deceased was not however lucky as he was surrounded by the cattle men that eventually gave him severe machete cuts that led to his death.

Reacting, traditional ruler of Egede, Igwe Polycarp Oyigbo, lamented the reoccurrence of nomads’ attack against his subjects and wondered why government had not been able to offer measures towards saving them from the strangers’ brutality.

Igwe Oyigbo noted that the community leadership had been prevailing on youths to avoid reprisal attack, and expressed hope that the police would keep to their promise of bringing the culprits to book.

He said: “I do not know whether it would have been better to allow them to take laws into their hands; so, government should take appropriate actions to end the menace.”

President General of Egede Town Union, Ichie Clement Amuji, lamented the pain and sorrow the herdsmen had inflicted on his people.

He said: “The attack has become a menace to our people. We have been complaining to the government; we have written several letters to Udi LGA, and the DPO 9th-Mile.

“This has been happening; they have been destroying our crops, raping our women. They killed a young man from Umuanum about three years ago. It is very sad because it has repeated itself.”

Please dont do it. Dont let me catch you in the act. If i sight anything with half of a yellow sun on it....at this point it doesnt even matter if its a flag, a tshirt, a towel or a underwear....anything with half of yellow sun is hereby banned and illegal to posess on the streets of Lagos. Consider this an issuance of the riot act from the Mayor of Lagos. angry angry

Do not march for anything in Lagos. You hear me?
Let me tell you, now an official record of your roots have surfaced, it is no longer acceptable to drop you off at Onitsha bridge head. Your deportation will terminate in Congo. angry

A recent breaking article has raised serious questions on the validity of the so-called “Biafra Restoration” project being pushed by Radio Biafra. Allegedly, according to Nnamdi Kanu’s station, he and his followers’ roots are in Biafra and not Nigeria. The facts revealed by the research article however put Biafra several miles outside Nigeria’s eastern borders.

Seun did not erect this site as a charitable site.
Seun and his family must eat too.

Immorality and self-abandonement is what sells now.
Even grandma want to twerk to beyonce now...and wear type of outfit her 20yrd grandbaby wears. Grandma has taken bank loan to redo face and tidy up her t1tt1es and butt....she got her money maker pruned up. C'mon!

Things will not always go the way we want it or flow in grain to our wish and desire. Let us come into acceptance that Nairaland is a scaled image of the socio-political space called Nigeria.

We do not run away from the sociopaths we encounter everyday, whether at bus stop, inside bus, the crazy taxi driver that risks your life on third mainland, the office clerk that collects lunch money first before she can give you the visitor ledger to sign. We deal with them out there. It should not be different with the ones in here.

Leave Seun to feed his family. I actually have business proposals to make him more popular by replicating via Nairaland the kind of spicy and scandalous entertainment popularised by Jerry Springer...but he refused to contact me.
