If truly iyabo ojo was the one that file this second case I will have every reason to believe this woman. though I never wanted to believe what she says before but their actions is making me to believe her. How can u (iyabo ojo) file for case after the pastor when u lived closed to this woman in the south west and couldn't do anything. now u are taking the advantage of the fact that the pastor has made the first move. Domb people everywhere. If nobody is not seen the connection in this people through this case then am afraid Nigerians don't like truth.

For your mind now, you sabi do analysis.................... Is this your best?

Both of you should go to hell.
What is the teachings of Our Lord Jesus Christ?
is there anything like tooth for tooth. Do you know what Christ went through to bring salvation to this world?
I see apostle suleman, david oyedepo and the rest telling christians to arm themselves agaist terrorists and fulani herdsmen! This was never the way of Christ.
This men just want to protect themselves and their church business.
When you see a Fulani herdsmen coming after you, fold your hands and watch them kill you.
I tell you, your portion in hell will be at a temperature of 1,369,521 degrees Celsius.

There are men of God one shouldn't joke with. Kemi should be glad that Pst. David decided to handle this case physically.

Education / Thread For Msc. Engineering Projects: Sourcing, Writing And Presentation. by Mbkite(m): 9:54am On Mar 27, 2017
It is no longer news that what mostly delays Masters programme in our various institutions in Nigeria is Project. This basically involves getting a project topic, seeking approval from project supervisor and writing of the project to achieve a set purpose. Most times a particular project topic could seem interesting but, when you eventually dive into it, you will start seeing other parts that you never imagined.
The whole essence of this thread is for experienced people to guide us in choice of project and ways of tackling the projects in order to achieve a set goal. I chose to restrict this thread to Engineering field but, MSc students from other discipline can make contributions.

I just started MSc. programme in Mechanical Engineering, UNIZIK. No project topic yet though I have been considering a lot of topics.

I urge people with experience to assist us to make this thread beneficial to everyone.

Thank you.

Career / Re: Masters In Engineering Or Professional Certification In Engineering by Mbkite(m): 1:51pm On Mar 16, 2017
GNwafor:
Haven read this post carefully, I have noticed that a lot of people commented based on what they heard and not what they have experienced.

It is on record that Nigeria has a very high unemployment rate. This has made it very difficult for any young graduate out there to say with certainty where they will work after NYSC. So what you see is DPR is recruiting everybody applies, NNPC is recruiting everybody applies, DANGOTE, Nestle, name it. So it has become very difficult for Nigerians to really know what they can do after graduation. Only a very few of about 2% knows what next after NYSC.

There are some few truths I have seen in my experience in the oil industry.

Your undergraduate degree/diploma grade matters and it MUST only come from your hardwork in school - I don't care whether you believe it or not.

You must know that experience is different from masters degree and it cannot be bought, you can only earn it over time.

At one point in your career, you will need an advanced degree be it MSc or an MBA or even a PhD or DBA. This is what the information age has made it to be.

Your career growth is directly proportional to your networks, competency development, professional certification, professional association memberships.

I have seen some questions about what to advice a young student on which course to choose. Is good you said "advice". There is a misconception that once you study say Chemical engineering, or petroleum engineering, Shell will employ you immediately. These are wrong notion we breed into the minds of our young ones and it leads to frustration immediately after NYSC.
TELL THE CHILD TO CHOOSE A COURSE HE CAN BE PROUD TO PRACTICE UNDER THE SUN AND RAIN. Also technology is driving the industry crazy, so IT will always be a leading sector to work.

There is no shortcut to success, you must be ready to work hard and work smart.

For you asking whether to go for Masters for Professional Certification, you will need both in you career at some point, so consider your pocket, if you are married, then think twice, consider other options., like online distance learning.

For the young chemical engineer, I happen to be one - Chemical Engineer;
This is my story, see if you can learn anything from it: graduated with HND in 2008, served 2009-2010 (NYSC), did AutoCad, PDMS while serving, joined one of the multinational oilfield companies in Port Harcourt in December 2010 after a very though aptitude tests and all day interview that ended around 9pm on 6th November 2010. I have gotten my COREN in 2016. Note that since 2010 after that AutoCAD and PDMS training class, I have not used them professionally because the company I worked don't use that in their engineering designs and operations. I also have a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Piping Design Engineering and an Executive MBA in Project Leadership and Management, including a couple of professional certifications and professional memembership/fellowship in engineering and management associations in UK, USA, Canada and Nigeria.

So as a young graduate, any certification or professional course is to make you look better than your peers who are also competing for the same job with you. It is not the ultimate destination, once you start working professionally, you will discover the field you are employed in and now be in a better position to know the specialist professional certification to go for that will accentuate your experience and validate your competence.

I hope these my points will guide most of us who at crossroads.

God bless Nigeria!

very helpful

God bless you.
Education / Re: How Much Does It Cost To Complete A Masters Degree In Nigerian Universities? by Mbkite(m): 6:11pm On Mar 15, 2017
I keep wondering why people keep discouraging people from doing Masters. The truth remains that we have different reasons for embarking on higher studies. It is not all about getting job in multinational firm. It should be about passion.
Some people I know are running Masters programme because they have interest in academics. Everything is not all about money.
If you have a good reason for doing a masters course, go on and never be discouraged.

Education / Re: 17 Mathematical Equations That Changed The World (pic) by Mbkite(m): 7:48am On Feb 21, 2017
MaziOmenuko:
When I saw the thread heading, I knew Pythagoras would be the #1. That eqn birthed the geometry aspect of mathematics.

Let me tell you a story.

When I was in js2, I left the school hostel and travelled home. Unfortunately, I met no one at home as my parents travelled (there was no handset then). I had to return to school the next morning after sleeping in my neighbours place. I didn't have a dime left on me as I had hoped to get some cash from home. On getting to the bus stop, I pleaded with a passenger to allow me sit on his laps so i wont have to pay transport fare. It was a small car, owned by young lad who wanted to make quick cash. When the car got moving, he insisted that i pay inasmuch as i wasnt occupying any seat. The passengers were furious at him.

After few minutes of arguing, he said that if only his passengers were science students, they will understand that irrespective of the fact that I wasn't occupying a seat, I still need to pay. That was the last thing he said, he didn't collect money from me but that statement stuck to my mind.

It wasn't until ss2 when I studied Newton's laws of motion that I understood perfectly what the young driver meant. Especially the mathematical derivatives of Newton's 2nd law where F = ma. It became clear that for the moving car under constatn acceleration, more force (fuel) would be needed if the mass increases. I was increasing the sum total of mass,m in his car and as such, he would need to burn more fuel to maintain acceleration.

Mathematic eqns become more interesting when it is applied; that is why engineering is the best course to study. Application of mathematical and science principles become alive when you design your first plant grin

guy! you are good.... Nairaland has smart people.

We all experience misfortunes from time to time. It has little to do with God. My life today is challenging, but I'm luckier than many Christians.

If you really believe that declaring that something will happen makes it happen, you should declare something more important e.g the discovery of a drug that can cure every form of cancer in 2017, the eradication of malaria in 2017, or that Economists will take over the CBN in 2017.

I have said what will be and of course, I expected you to attack it.

Passive euthanasia when the patient is not benefiting from the treatment.

Like in case of someone in a vegetative state and on a ventilator. It's justifiable for me to remove the ventilator even though the patient would die as a result.
