I doubt if your LO will gulp down one bowl of cereal at once when you introduce cereal.
You can start by preparing small cereal and if he eats it well, you can increase the quantity of the next meal and watch how long it will last him before he becomes hungry again.
With time, you should be able to know the pattern Dat suit him.

I suggest you start with one cereal first for some days before introducing a 2nd one, then a 3rd one etc, so if you introduce anyone and he reacts to it, you can easily spot it and discontinue.
I will stop EBF almost same time wt you. 12th

nice suggestion there ozycy.....will try what you have said.just can't wait to go there.pls I will also like to know where I can buy cereal and milk in Cartons in ph.thanx mum

good day beautiful mums, pls I am a FTM with some questions.my lil one will be 6months on 7th of april.i did EBF without water.my question goes thus
1)how many times I'm I suppose to feed LO in a day when I introduce ceareals, and what hourly.
2)how should I introduce ceareals.i intend giving him diff types for variety sake.should I give say frisogold rice morning, cerekac noon and maybe gerber oatmeal evening or should I introduce them weekly.reason why I want to give diff cereals is to also know the one he can tolerate. thanx in anticipation.

My fellow former October mamas,
I want to know if your babies have started sleeping throughout the night.
This baby dey show me sheghe for night.

mine sleeps all through d night, only makes noise or cry once he wants to suck.i call his noise my alarm cuz once I hear it, I'm up to feed him . immediately he grabs my breast, datz the end of his cry.in all I will say mine sleeps at night and only wake up to suck like 3 to 4 times at night.

good day neautoful mamas....pls join me in thankig God ooooooo he is more than faithful.he made it end in paise today for me....my story goes this way, my LO was diagnosed of adeniod hypertrophy cuz he had cold and catarrh and wen I took him to see a paediatrician at teaching hospital, I was askedto do x ray which gave birth to d diagnosis. I was referred to an ENT surgeon whom had appointment with today cuz d paediatrician told me that from the diagnosis, its no longer his field.

I came in here and shered my problem, beautiful mums here encouraged me.i went to d hospital today for my appointment with d ENT doc, lo and behold when he saw the x ray and also examined my LO, he saiid he doesn have adeniod, that from the x ray, it was cartahh mucu dat made him snore and dat d x ray wasn't done correctly, d diagnosis is wrong that I should go with my lil one and give him vit c only every day.sorry to add, antibiotics was prescribed for him after d x ray whih finished yesterday.God is more than faithful oooo

may God bless all d mamas dat gave words of encouragement.indeed it ended in praise.....

[quote author=mitche15 post=41719529]my daughter has adenoids, keep ur baby away from dust, insecticides, air freshners and the likes, they are possible triggers.............. then, COD liver oil is ur new bestie.... trust me, i have been in ur shoes, my girl is 2+ now and its alot less. no more fever wen it starts. my dear, when they start school is worse because they contract cold everyother week which is another trigger. cod liver oil helped us. it will pass. as per operating, my paed said its not that big to operate, i am not ur doctor so i cant advise on that. its not necessary to operate except it has grown really large. God will help u pass this phase. [/quote

thanx dear....will try d cod liver oil . tomorrow is my appointment with d ENT doc.will keep u posted

Fantastic. this is what i was expecting to read.

personally, i would ignore that doctor's diagnois of adeniod and do not agree to any talk of surgery.

my son had similar symptons at 4-6 weeks (minus the cold and catarrah) and i took him to see my doctor. he told me that at that age, babies nasal passage and respiratory organs are small and they are still growing, so it is not unusual for some babies to make such funny noises while sleeping. he told me that he would outgrow it. he didnt ask me to do any xray or prescribe antibiotics. true to his words, my baby has outgrown it and he sleeps very quietly and the breathing noises have stopped.

in your case, the funny noises might be as a result of the blocked nose. i was told that when babies have a cold, they accumulate mucus at the bridge of their nose/upper respiratory tract. unfortunately, unlike adults, they are unable to voluntarily sneeze or blow their noses to get rid of the mucus.

finish the dose of antibiotics and make sure he's well dressed and covered (both night and day - whether the weather is warm or not). before my baby got his cold, my mum kept accusing me that i wasnt dressing him properly and that it was better for a baby to have heat rashes than cold/pneumonia. in retrospect, she was right. the stress involved in dealing with heat rash is nothing compared to the sleepless nights and anxiety thats involved in catering to a child with cold/cough.

read my previous post. i listed the home rememdies that worked for my baby regarding cold/blocked nose.

thanx love for takingnout time to talk to me.may God bless u . first let me confess I contributed to my son's cold and catarrh cuz I use to expose him because he sweats alot.i started covering him some days before going to d hospital last week and I have seen alot of improvement though he is having heat rashes now but I don't mind.i was always being told not to expose him but I use to pity him when he sweats and didn't want rashes....of the truth, I have seen alot of improvement from when I started covering him but day and night and the last antibiotics I just started giving him.

he is sleeping right now, no sound whatsoever is being heard unlike before.i am keeping my calm cuz I know oluwa is involved in his matter.

once again thanx so muh love for taking out time to encourage me.i appreciate. God bless u

1)How long as he had the cough and catarrh?
2)Any fever?
3)Does he feed well?
4)Does he make a "whistle" or "wheezing" or uncomfortable "snoring" noise while sleeping especially at night?
5)Any improvements with the antibiotics?
6)As he's 3 months old, there are OTC cough syrups he can take. Have you tried any? If yes, any improvements?
7) have you tried elevating his head at night using pillows?

thanx dear for ur concern....the catarrh has gone.he coughs once or twice a day.no fever ever since he had d cough and catarrh, he is feeding very very well.he had d wheezing sound and snored right in front of d doc that was why x ray was asked to be done on him.he has never been uncomfortable during sleep at day or night.there has been a big improvement since I started d last antibiotics on wednesday last week after d x ray was done.today is d last day of d antibiotics.there have been serious improvement after taking the antibiotics. but doc referred me to ENT doc due to d x ray.i am revealed alot.i know God will make is smile again.....

It is well with your LO, read page 420&421. Someone also complained and was worried about same thing and i think other mothers responded. I dont know much about this but i know it is well with you and your baby. You can also read online and when u go for the next appointment, ask ad many questions as possible till you are clarified.

thanx dear . I've been online all day reading about it.i am a lil bit calm.it is well with us ...I shall come back testifying in Jesus name....

Though, having a 15day menstrual interval isn't normal, all is well. The problem is that order has not been fully restored. The subsequent period presented too early because hormonal balance hasn't be restored.

Give it time, you'll observe your regular menstruation as it was before.

thanx doc, I agree with you beacuse the first period that came on 19th didn't flow well. same with what I am seeing now.i end up using one pad a day as I only see blood when I wipe.it isn't flowing like usual period.though I saw a medium size cloted blood this afternoon.

@mbula, it's normal for your cycle to be a bit irregular after childbirth. It will still normalise so relax yourself. However, your cycle length(24days) may or may not change. Cheers
@maureensylvia, heartburn is part of the package o! Your womb pushes your stomach up and the acidic content comes up and irritates your throat. Spicy food and lying down immediately after a meal makes it worse. Get a good antacid, it helps.

@soonest thanx dear for calming me down.God bless u

Good evening beautiful mamas.here goes my birth story......I went for antenatal last week tuesday and told my doc that I wanted induction and that was some days to my edd, doc said I can't have one till after my edd that it was against medical ethics. I chose tiesday 6th oct for it and it was acvepted.my edd was on 2nd oct.

labour didn't start, I went for antenatal again on 6th, doc booked me for the induction by 7pm of that 6th . catetah was passed by 7pm which was a lil painful,I carried it till about 8am the next morning and it refused to fall out on its own but I saw mucur plug by 7.30am.membrane was swept and I was 4cm dilated.went for d hot drip by 12.30 noon.i was in active labour for almost 10 hours, fully dialted but my baby's head was still very high.doc had to rushed me for emergency cs.had my bundle of joy in split sec of getting inyo the theather immediately I head his voice, I wept on d bed and was screaming thank you Jesus.....it was God that did it for me.i pray that he will do same for allnthe pushing mamas remaining. you all will carry to term and will end in praise like I did.today makes it d third day and I am already up and doing.will be discharged on moday...

good evening doc, pls I need urgent reply. I'm a first time mum, my edd was 2nd of this month.thinking of going for an induction this week as doc said I should come with my bag next antenatal for it.my reason for elective induction is the weight of my baby via scan result which stated last week monday to be 4.0kg. everything is perfect with baby and I.baby is in appropriate position, just that I haven't got waist pain like pple say as sign of labour, no show nor membrane rupture.pls I am seeking ur opinion as to the induction.thank u
