Dr Kitaun: Dr Kitaun:get off Kobo's case. She is not as dumb as your comments portray you to be. SILENCE IS GOLDEN is a misused maxim in this case. Clear the air and puncture the hot air that is causing a distraction to your government and lets all move on. By not clearing the air,the guy is giving the impression that he has answers that are contrary to the image that he has in the public. again i ask, what is so hard in reversing fraudulent decisions of the past administration? IT WILL NO LONGER BE BUSINESS AS USUAL but the fraud of the recent past will remain unvisited abi? if you believe that crap, then give me a call cos i have a bridge to sell you. by the way, the price is negotiable. |
The guy is good, infact very good. but i doubt he will be an immediate success with people like Terry G and Timaya in the limelight. These are the days of dross and crap. |
if they are not partners, BRF would have cancelled these contracts or involved EFCC in the matter. Is that as hard as building nukes? or is he too much of a gentleman to ruffle feathers? |
doyin13:For the avoidance of doubt, the views of Doyin as expressed above are mine too, In addition,i just think that the Nigerian public (even the educated internet ones) are too gullible. If we were not, we would not ascribe this saintly profile to Fashola and swallow the c r a p that Tinubu and his paid servants peddle around the whole place abouth the governor-general. In my view,Tinubu is no worse than Ibori and Odili. The only difference is that one pretends to be a progressive and a democrat owing to his association with Nadeco while the other is known for nothing but his thieving tendencies. On the issues at stake, i think both are partners in loot. This does not take away the fact that Fashola is a visionary and purposeful governor, an anomaly in the present set up. |
kosovo:Not very correct. sub numbers as a convection is restricted to the number of subscribers that have been active within a specific number of days (i think the last 90 days). I agree with Aloy that the number is not very reliable. more importantly, i can see that you are beginning to tone down your sycophantic comments. there is still away to go but t least you seem redeemable and your English and write up makes sense to mortal men. |
When i suggest that some opinions here seem like paid views, i am told to log off if i don't like it. I am still waiting for his responses to my questions. Maybe he has gone to get more input from his paymasters. |
still waiting for your response. |
idupaul:you beat me to it. |
By Yemi Adebowale, 03.27.2010 As the 2011 polls draw near, former Vice President Atiku Abubukar may have finally decided to ditch the Action Congress for his former platform, the Peoples Democratic Party following a meeting with the acting president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. Atiku whom sources said met with Jonathan in Abuja recently, may have decided to go back to his old party preparatory to the forthcoming elections, even though it is uncertain if he will contest the presidential election next year. The former vice president, it was learnt, may also be returning to the PDP, a party which he helped to established, because he will also be able to exert more influence in the political scheme of things. Under his current political platform, the AC, Atiku is said to be rather uncomfortable with the fact that the party has more or less morphed into a predominately South-west party and is controlled by Bola Tinubu, the former Lagos State governor. This has been made worse by the fact that staying on in AC has meant that Atiku who failed to capture his state has seen his once formidable dominance and relevance as a politician diminish. PDP party sources who are aware that Atiku is preparing to make a return to the party said another indication that the former vice president is contemplating returning to the fold stems from his recent reconciliation with Admiral Murtala Nyako (rtd.), the governor of Atiku’s home state, Adamawa. The former vice president and Nyako have been on opposing sides of the political spectrum for over three years, but were said to have set aside their differences during the burial of Alhaji Lamido Aliyu Musdafa, the Lamido of Adamawa who passed on recently. In a related development, the nephew of President Umaru Yar’Adua, Murtala Yar’Adua, whose name was sent Tuesday as one of 33 nominees forwarded by Acting President Goodluck Jonathan, may have received the blessings of the president’s mother (his grandmother) to serve in the new cabinet. His grandmother’s endor-sement is coming just as more names have been sent by the acting president to the State Security Service for screening. Murtala, who is the son of the late deputy to General Olusegun Obasanjo between 1976 and 1979 and older brother of the president, General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, did not want to go against the wishes of his family or allow the issue to create any disaffection in the family hence his decision to consult extensively. A close friend of the man who is also director of one of the leading commercial banks in the country told this newspaper that “Murtala is very careful not to allow this matter bring any problem in the family, but he is happy that he has gotten the nod of a majority of the family including its matriarch, the president's mother.” Declining to reveal details as to who in the family opposed or endorsed Murtala’s membership of the federal cabinet, the source would only confirm that now that it is likely Murtala will go ahead, he is expected to get an easy ride during his screening with the support of the northern caucus in the senate. Also attempts by some of President Yar’Adua’s sympathisers to prevail on northern senators to block the nomination of Murtala was brushed aside as a majority of senators did not see anything wrong in his serving the nation. The nominee himself has been quoted as saying that he is accepting the nomination and making himself available for screening because of his desire to serve the nation. The northern caucus, however, has been strategising on how to stop some other the nominees including the former Minister of Information Prof. Dora Akunyili and former Senator Sanusi Daggash. But some lobbyists close to Daggash are said to be using this weekend to penetrate the caucus to clear the way for him come Monday. |
she was or she is? so the allocation she collects from all market women is for personal use? all market women in Nigeria? are you sure? or is that the tale the governor-general fed you? |
^^^^^^^^^ how can you suspect that he is not benefiting from this arrangement? What is he?a saint? or a buffoon? he is none of the two, so i assume he is a major beneficiary of this scheme. There has been way too much smoke in this LCC wahala for it to be dismissed as a baseless rumour. why build a toll gate when the road is no where near complete? What service will you be paying the toll for? only in Naija, |
and, is she a life president? |
olafolarin:so she owned the millions that were found in his account in America? I never knew market unionism was that lucrative? |
jumobi1:complaining? that has been the norm since mallam came to power and it has only been raised to new levels since he was sneaked out to Jeddah in the middle of the night. all we live on as a country are lies. rumours, deceit and propaganda. |
In the present circumstances, apart from political reasons, what other reasons can one adduce for all these ministerial crap? This guy should have just stuck to the perm secs, micro manage them using the PAC, face electoral reforms, strengthen EFCC and jump start power inadequacies and damn 2011. instead he has created a bloated cabinet that will not achieve much, will loot a lot and complicate the political space in the country. I did not expect much from him in the first place but i had lingering hope that he will disappoint me. Alas!! |
lalaboi:sometimes i think the new songs are a continuation of the old ones. like Nollywood's part 1,2,3, |
Islamic version of Atmosphere for Miracles!! |
yeswecan:because there is none. |
I am getting uncomfortable on this site. there are too many hirelings here. You don't even know who is expressing personal views and who is expressing paid views. it is getting confusing. |
olafolarin:dude, which mother are you referring to in the bolded part? |
FSLC (first school leaving certificate) |
biina, unfortunately, you will win this argument but lose the fight in the end. Nothing will come out of this prosecution. Not because the case cannot be proven, not even because of some of Sanusi's crass conduct and comments (in spite of his good intentions) but because this is Nigeria. The elite look after themselves and the status quo serves more of the elite than a genuine change in the banking industry. Ibru et al probably defrauded their banks more than Sanusi will ever be able to prove but it makes no difference and will not change anything. If a man like Ebitimi Banigo can be an adviser to Jonathan and call some shots therein, after all he did to All State trust bank, then Cecelia and Atuche will be rehabilitated in the very near future. It does not matter if one or two banks fail in the near future. This is how the Nigerian elite look after themselves. |
so the more, the better (in view of the reasons raised above) |
Here is another view which i subscribe to; Mr. Jonathan's decision to take a pragmatic, as opposed to radical, approach in his composition of a cabinet raises suspicions that he is interested in contesting next year's Presidential elections. It appears that he is keen to explore the possibilities of building a political base across the country, by appointing prominent politicians as opposed to politically inexperienced technocrats. By allowing the state governors to nominate the new ministers he also seems eager to avoid alienating them, especially against the backdrop of their complaints about the constitution of the Presidential Advisory Committee. On their part, Nigerians appear to be preparing themselves to expect no miracles in the coming months. Much of the internet commentary over the last 48 hours regarding the list has been heavily tinged with frustration, and disappointment. It is hard to blame anyone. To put it mildly, this cabinet, heavy on recycled material, is one weak, uninspiring assemblage. |
we don't even need ministers at all,in this administration. With only 12 months left in the life of this administration, why not just let the perm secs in the ministries steady the ship and the presidency provides direction in certain critical areas? It is not like anything meaningful is expected from Jonathan. These ministers will only create a bloated atmosphere, take time to settle down, introduce their own agenda and siphon their own egunje. at the end of the day,we are worse off than when we first started. |
The barbarians are at the gate. The coming inferno will consume them all, without exception. |
give me two examples of each and i will tell you which i will vote for. |
Whoever believes that Atuche own only five properties and two are undeveloped, needs to give me a call.I have a bridge to sell to that deluded soul. Sanusi should take a break.this case will die a natural death. Nothing will come out of it. No be Nigeria? Afterall, Ebitimi Banigo is an adviser of Jonathan. A man that did worse in All State Trust Bank than Atuche and Ibru combined could do to their banks. |
