koice: Saying nothing is factual about One TV show being superior to another is a flawed logic. Not all TV shows are cut from the same clothes or budget. There are criterions to consider before you invest on a show: Level of Realism, solid Content, Solid plot and strong ambience (aura). Breaking Bad came out in flying colours on all four. A lot of shows out there don't. Aura Is this a joke? Who define the aura? Solid content is subjective. You can not legislate it. No matter how hard you try. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by mbulela: 3:33pm On Feb 13, 2015 |
pomporiking: No there are some shows out there which don't fall into that category.shows like sopranos nypd blue west wing the wire curb your enthusiasm e.t.c are great shows which is a FACT I love all the shows you mentioned and I have watched Sopranos twice and will do a rerun soon. However, there is no FACT in taste. I will never touch Downtown Abbey with a long pole but I respect the choice of others to hype it but will not accept its quality as fact. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by mbulela: 3:31pm On Feb 13, 2015 |
koice: The current season of Banshee is the rave of the moment, dude... and for the fact you don't know that tells me a lot about you. Anybody that doesn't like Breaking Bad needs to have his/her head examine, to be frank. Maybe you're better off watching shows like "Devious maids" and "Revenge". What do I care? You take yourself way too serious. Calm down and go outside for some fresh air. You seem to get orgasmic over these silly arguments. I have every episode of Banshee ever aired. It is a drama with loads of holes in it. It is something I enjoy but denying that you do not have to suspend reality to flow with it is slightly silly. Some people love Devious Maids. You are no better than them because you can hold infantile arguments to defend your own choices and try to pass it as fact. When it comes to subjective choices (which is all tv tastes are), there is no fact. Just opinions. Have a fine weekend. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by mbulela: 10:17am On Feb 13, 2015 |
This arguments are actually pointless. There is nothing like fact when it comes to things like this. Maybe general consensus or trend of the moment. It is like looks. We all never like the same kind of woman or guy. Most pageant contestants will never generate an erection in some men. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by mbulela: 10:14am On Feb 13, 2015 |
koice: Breaking Bad is better than the Sopranos or any other shows out there, You'd better believe It. The only show I can say that is a bit better is The Wire. No show is better than the Wire.
One thing about BB is once you don't like the first few episodes, you'll never like the rest. It's much like The Wire in that instance. BB is the only other show after The Wire and - presently Banshee - that treated every single episode like a season finale. You can't beat that. BB is not overhyped my friend, what may seem like an overblown reputation to most people is nothing but justified.
Side note: iOS is better than every other OS out there. Apple products destroy other competing products. It's not a snobbish hype, merely a simple fact. Your personal opinion must not be mistaken for fact. If you actually think Banshee with all the gaping holes is worthy of mentioning then it goes to prove that tastes differ and your choice nor mine cannot be mistaken for fact. |

koice: Y'all better watch out for "Better Call Saul". It has the potential of becoming as bada$$ as it's predecessor, Breaking Bad. Vince Giligan is a genius. I am already stockpiling Better Call Says and would watch it as I liked Saul a lot. However this hype around BB is almost silly. It is like the arrogant snobbish hype you get from apple users. The series was good but nothing extraordinary. Nothing like Sopranos or West Wing that were universally accepted to be work of genius. |

Now: Anybody can accept any gift but does that make him to read it or accept Jesus Christ as his personal lord and Saviour? As if you have any proof that GEJ has accepted Christ as his personal lord and saviour. In the eyes of God GEJ might be no different from Buhari. The same blood of Jesus is available to both. Christianityis not by taking selfies in Jerusalem and hanging around compromised pastors during pilgrimage. More importantly, Christianity is not a prerequisite for good leadership. Even in the bible most of the Kings that advanced God's plans were pagans. |

Orikinla: God protect us all 24/7.
Nigerians must drive with utmost care on the road.
Federal Road Safety Commission must stop trucks like oil tankers and those conveying containers from using flyovers. The FRSC should check all vehicles at the ports and motor parks and those that are not road worthy should be seized. FRSC should also arrest over speeding drivers and seize their cars, SUVs or trucks and don't release the vehicles. Such drivers should not be allowed to be on the road or street. Frsc is a failed entity. All chijioka spent his time doing was looking for money making schemes like reflectors and number plate. Non road worthy vehicles are even a worse menace at the moment than bad driving. Speeding is only punished by death and amputation at the moment. Almost every commercial driver is under the influence of some substance or the other. |

Govt had no business sponsoring any one to go on pilgrimage. If we had lawmakers that were alive together responsibilities, this waste would have been outlawed a long time ago. These pilgrimages have been nothing but a conduit for pastors and imams to steal public funds. So I understand Pastor Ayo's point of view. Can CAN and SCIA commission a report to ascertain the social and moral benefit of wasting public funds on an exercise that is entirely personal? I challenge them to prove it. |
