Quietrager: That they can even contemplate it is reflective of the kind of sick twisted minds Nigerian's have, minds that that are so twisted and sick with how to aggrandize themselves when they get a little power. Someone should point out that the U.S senator that is now their vice-president use to catch the train to and from their national assemble to work for a decade more or less, maybe by the time the whole sick nation is above the law, and the praise singers, hangers on, psychopaths, shameless ass-kissers, cowards - who can watch their sister's be raped and beaten to death even!, in front of their very eyes, rather than risk a bruise (not to talk of voicing opposition to a bill that stinks to high hell!!!), cynics, did i forget hypocrates, wise asses and the usual groups we all fall into that make up the almost total majority have nothing to say at best, yes! me too!!, but then - when will we all change !!! Rage and venom. I understand my brother! |

You see my brother, we need prayers. What you see is more than meet the eyes. The attitude of our leaders is to a large extent, influenced by the dynamics of our politics. Even you who is talking like this will act same way once you get there. May God help us. |

Arkison: No one should be immune from criminal proceeding. That is why they are there. If they feel police have harrass someone unnecessary they should step up their work as house of assembly and fight for our rights. Shielding anyone from criminal investigation and criminal proceeding is injustice to victims of crime I am not in support of absolute immunity. But for people to be chained and hounded for mere allegations is not only unpopular but also unacceptable . |

Consider the glo and etisalat promo. How many people you know have really won these hard to believe gifts which range from million dollars to thousands of naira amongst etc, etc. Pls nairalanders, can anyone convince me that all is well with these gifts promos. Is this truly a show of CSR by these companies? |

I agree with the bill. It intends to discourage the unnnecessary harrassment of Nigerians by our law enforcement agents. My only grudge here, is that such bill should not be enjoyed by lawmakers alone. But I think there must be a laid down process to effect an arrest. |

agathamari: even it literal terms it can be seen as a warning as you see it here or as a comand as people in other countries see it. Yea, It is a charge to parents by the scriptures. So it doesn't really matter if seen to be a command. The deduction is clear. It is 'dont use the cane and let the child be a spoilt'. I understand your argument anyway. But the addition of "if" does not make too much difference. |

naijatoday: Nigeria's Bank PHB chief exec resigns - sources
The heads of Nigeria's Unity Bank (UBPL.LG) and Wema Bank (WEMA.LG) are among five bank chiefs summoned to a meeting on Friday with the central bank following the completion of an audit, a CBN spokesman said.
The central bank said earlier it had summoned the heads of five banks including Bank PHB (BPHB.LG), Spring Bank (SPRN.LG) and Equitorial Trust Bank to the meeting. [Wema Bank has been under the supervision of CBN which has helped to midwife the take-over of the Bank by the new core investor four months ago |

agathamari: everyone keeps quoting "spare the rod spoil the child" this phrase is missing key words to ensure one translation. is it "if you spare the rod you will spoil the child" or is it "you should spare the rod and spoil the child"? like many proverbs, it can be translated into two or more different thought processes. My dear, it conveys the same meaning. To amplify it, it is " Spare the rod and Spoil the child". Thought processes ought not to surface here. It is a simple sentence. |
Politics › Re: Nigeria's Achivements In 49 Years Of Independence? by McDoe(m): 9:25am On Oct 02, 2009 |
honeyguy: i frankly understand what y'all saying about this country. i think one of the major problems we have in Nigeria is that we are not exposed! alot of you complaining about NIGERIA getting worse and all that are obviously not exposed. most nigerians just go to school and gather degrees like note books but lack the understanding of what is going on in the real world. i saw someone comparing nigeria to china, fyi china has more poverty than nigeria. USA known as one of the worlds superpower country has begers on the street just as nigeria does, usa owes $12,250,000,000,000 while nigeria only owes $9,132,000,000 big difference.if you have been opportuned to visit north america, you'll understand that despite the fact that they seem better than nigeria, you will understand that its a credit world. you live and wake up in credits. why do you think that lots of foreingh investors want to invest in nigeria and canada? they are smart to understand that there is insecurity and lack electricity, yet they still wanna invest in nigeria. majority of the people complaining about nigeria would get visas to the so called developed countries to find out that the so called developed countries are not bed of roses; most of them result in fraud to survive. in economics, there are major objectives of government, they are mostly growth rate and equity. in the real world, is easier for a camel to pass through the needle than for an over populated country to attain equity. the economic growth rate of nigeria is 5.3, usa 1.1, south africa 3.2 big difference. of a truth our major problem is leadership and that is making nigeria lack behind but think about nigerian market, one of the best. nigeria is not as bad as people think, majorty of these so called developed countries only deceive people with the good parts of their land but when you actually find out the other side, you will appreciate nigeria, if you see majority of the jobs pople do in these so called developed countries, where they live, you will appreciate nigeria. most nigerians abroad are not happy in those developed countries but cannot go back home because of shame. imagine 7yrs ago in toronto, an ex room mate of mine, a nigerian was sick and the doctors told him he had only six months to live, his friends were ready to buy his ticket to nigeria so atleast he could see his family before he dies, he refused claiming that he rather die in toronto than to face the shame of not acuiring anything all his 10yrs abroad. yet he's in a developed country. let us change our ways from corruption and pray for our leaders and nigeria wll be great again You may be right. At least, there are other things, natural or otherwise that are blessings to us(Nigeria) |

EFCC is set up to guide against money laundering, there are laws against whooping massive cash movement etc, if the EFCC noticed this and is doing their job, why are you guys criticising them?

Romance › Re: Sex On Phone, Is It Cheating Or Not? by McDoe(m): 11:12am On Sep 30, 2009 |
It is pure cheating. There is no difference between sex on the phone and the practical sex. infact sex on phone is MouthAction. All the emotions, stimulations and what have you are there. I was madly in love with a lady I never knew except on phone. Every night, we would have sex on the phone. it even got to a point that we were desperate to see each other. To cut the story short, I later realized the problem I was forcing myself into and decided to call it a quit. But I tell you, she didn't find it funny. Initially, she was begging me not to call it off. And when she got to understand that I was very serious, she started bombarding me with calls, text messages full of curses and invectives and all the venom she could pour out. Infact it took more than two months after telling her off before she finally gave up in her threats. The babe lives in Benin while I live in the State of Aquatic Splendour. |
