Whereas it is a gender based crime, it is more a crime against humanity, hence no need to tag along the gender rope whilst speaking up against it.
As a man, I am first a son to a mother, a woman, a brother to a girl, a lover to a lady and then a father to a daughter.
Even though I am not liable to be a direct victim to a rape case, but I'd feel as much pain should any of the above become a victim.
Uwa might be gone and free from the momentary pain she could have felt but the trauma of the horrendous fate she suffered will forever haunt those who have come to love her and truly, the moral burden of ensuring her/their assailants are brought to justice lies on us all because if the culprits are allowed to remain on the loose, we can never tell who the next victim might be.

My submission is that rather than the weightless outpour of emotions, we all need to be asking the right questions and doing the right things.

We need to build institutions we can always rely on and then ask the following question.

How isolated is the scene of the crime from human activities? Is it possible there's supposed to be someone within an earshot that should or could have heard her scream?
Is there someone whose daily lives revolves around the scene of the crime?
Is it her normal routine?
Could she have been trailed or it was a chance meeting between her assailants and herself?
Was the vicious attack a buildup to the rape or done in order to cover trails?

considering the crime was perpetuated by adults with possible biometric signatures, are the authorities deploying forensic tools in unravelling the crime?

1. You can get your money back from online fraudsters (If you can follow through).

CBN has now mandated all banks to open a fraud desk to handle cases.

The bank will investigate, prosecute and reverse such dubious transactions even though the scammer has withdrawn the money.

2. Say you use UBA and you paid money into your instagram seller’s(scammer) Zenith account, you can simply send a mail to frauddesk@zenithbank.com.

Make sure you copy the CBN at cpd@cbn.gov.ng (This puts the banks on their toes).

3. The banks should block such a suspicious account IMMEDIATELY a complaint is received via the fraud desk.

They can receive customer’s STOP-TRANSACTION complaints to block their own account.

He also advised that people can visit CBN’s website for more details on how the proceedure works.

Forget that cpd people and the idea of being at their toes. Even the frauds perpetuated by the banks themselves are being neglected by the cpd upon complaints, na make dem just create office be that one.

You goofed big time. For a friend you're willing to give free money, I don't see why it should have been a problem for you to believe her especially with the knowledge that shits happen with the banks. The best you could have done is to encourage her to go and confirm from the bank if it was lodged.

I sent money to a friend since march and she claims she hasn't seen it, even though I feel the money might be in her account and her definition of haven't seen it could be her not getting a notification from the bank, but I am following it through just to be sure it is not stuck somewhere not that I don't trust her. I can only rest i f it either get to her or reversed, if it's eventually established she got it, I go just yarb her dey go, ni need for trouble.

I suggest you give her time and try to explain to her why she should forgive you and not try to justify your poor judgement. And don't blame the bank for ruining anything, the fault is all yours.

Even though I might feel bad about her not pre-informing, it is not a big deal. But this is likely to cause a great deal of disaffection in the family.

I have a female friend who got married last year October precisely.

Fast forward to March this year the Mother In Law came to stay with the couple in a bid to visit her hospital within the couple’s area for medical checkup, reason being that she stays a bit farther away in the same state.

Upon her Mother in law’s arrival, she came with my friend’s husband brother accompanied by his girlfriend who all planned staying and eventually stayed without prior notice.

My friend(the lady) is a banker and was only informed casually by her husband while she was at work on the day of their arrival. His excuse was the mother called impromptu about the visit which I don’t think is bad anyway.

These couple stay in a three bedroom apartment and only one room has bed in it. This is the room the couple sleep.

The first two days of the mother inlaw, brother and brother’s girlfriend arrival, the couple had to sleep in the living room while the mother in law and the brother in law’s girlfriend slept in the couple’s room.

As days goes by, the husband who is self employed suggested the the rest of them will handle cooking in the house due to the wife’s tight schedule as per banking job in Lagos.

Part of the consequence of their visit is that they have overthrown the kitchen and like most ladies my friend wasn’t cool with this but tried to keep her cool.

The lady(my friend) became curious and asked the husband to clarify if the mother in law and co intends to stay with them permanently. The husband subsequently flared up with the allegations that his wife doesn’t want his people around. This happened to be the third time his wife asked this question in the space of two weeks.

One thing led to the other on the third time of asking this question my friends husband beat her up and chased her out of the house while the mother stood and watched without interfering.

Efforts to reconcile has proved abortive as the husband refused to let her in again and categorically said to my friend’s dad he isn’t interested in the marriage anymore. The mother in law refused to interfere.

PS: The hubby’s mother is a separated single mother.
PS: My friend and her hubby both contributed to pay the rent
PS: The hubby’s father is not in support of all the happenings and all efforts to reach his son proved abortive since the misunderstanding. He wouldn’t answer his dad’s calls.

people should stop creating problems in other people's homes. Why would I be visiting my brother along with my sick mother and carry a tag along girlfriend to go and stay in another woman's home.
It is unfortunate that none of the three of them has sense.

But then, there might be an underlying issue that prompted the husband's action.

And sometimes, you people they call friends should mind your level of involvement in other people's relationships. Problems that could have been overlooked are often escalated by so called friends and their no-good advice.

With the rate of protests, it seems most people are recruited to claim covid+ and agree to be isolated with promises of incentives, otherwise how do they have the energy to protest instead of worry about their state of health?

I think government needs to disabuse the minds of Nigerians by showing commitment to the fight against the virus, or at least allows us to go about our live. Who go die go still die. With the awareness of the presence of an infectious disease out there, it will now behove on every individual to do what's best to protect themselves and loved ones.
Our government has never been trustworthy, so we can not trust them.

A lady will only do what the mother of your child is doing if you parted with her in bad terms(you didn't marry her). Nothing hurts a lady like that,they will feel you have messed up their lives by putting them in a place where few men will consider committing to them,a place of ridicule and judgement,while you move on with your life freely and will never face ridicule like them.

I have gotten three women pregnant, two were just flings and the other was /is the love of my life.

Needless to say,having a child with a woman emotionally invested in you but you will not marry will likely end up in tears because if you buy the world for her,take full financial responsibility for both her and the child,she will still resent you for not putting the ring.

Well shits happen, hardly can we tell the end from the beginning, even couples who married and stayed in love for year do fall out and get divorced.
My point is, before she begs for love on the child's behalf, she should be very sure it is in abundance where it should be and yet she rejects it, for the child since or if it doesn't favour her.
