Romance / Single Ladies Are More Than Single Guys; How True? by Mcfemad(m): 10:52am On Oct 02, 2012
Good morning house,

Hope we all enjoyed the independence holiday.

I was at a programme organized for Singles yesterday, October 1st 2012 in Lagos, Nigeria. Of over 2000 singles in attendance, I can estimate 77% of the population to be ladies. There are so many of them around that you can count the number of single guys around. I felt I was the only who noticed until I asked a friend we went together who also confirmed it.

But, you see many of these ladies claiming they are 'engaged' and some of them 'forming' I don't need a man!

I also visited the Dating and Meeting Up zone of the Romance section on Nairaland where I saw many requests from guys trying to hook up with ladies/marriage potentials.

What could be responsible for this and how can it be addressed.

Thank you

sub_zidi: @ Post: You dont need to break the bank for it! You go to the registry and fill the formswith 2 passports of couple, then pay N1k. After filling the forms in court then you submit them same day and wait for 21 working days(display of couple info in notice-board). They would calculate the waiting period and then give you your prefered date to come for oath taking. Oath taking is N6k. Then after that you would then choose your wedding date weekdays cheaper than saturdays which is N2k(weekday)/N5k(weekend ie saturday).
On the wedding day you would be asked to either bring a carton of fruitjuice or pay N4k/N5K as the case might be! Try to sweet mouth them and dont show off too much if you don wana be ripped off grin. Also, make sure you bring change on wedding day for offering/celebration for court officials N100/N200 notes will do. DO NOT patronize the photographers they charge so much bring your small camera and a friend can assist with the pics as they do not allow professional photographers/video men. No point for all these flambouyance if you will still do a white wedding. Flower/bouquest and pin ups will be brandished for you to rent at exhorbitant rates(irrelevant too).
The above are the basics i can remember! However, if you dont wana wait for 21 working days (notification) then they will charge you for shortcut max-max N15K!! Ask of Oga Mike his office is inside after their small chapel looking-oath taking space! I cant put his phone number here... goodluck

The required size should be within this range. Has no idea of the exact size that will suit her and she doesn't know herself. She has a small stature; 5ft+ and 50kg. We shall probably visit next week to see them and get one!
I hope the Promo is still on?

My Brother, there are "bad eggs" everywhere in the Nigerian System (Both Private and Public). It will take serious efforts to identify and deal with them appropriately. That was why I raised the issue of you lodging a complaint, see if the guys can be apprehended and dealt with accordingly.
I do not use a BB, but can send you the number of the LASTMA commander via Nairaland PM if you do not mind.
Thank you.

Have a great Day!
faluasafe: Re: A Day At LASTMA Office Oshodi by Mcfemad(m): 11:31pm On Sep 18

This is so serious!
As it is, I had fruitful discussions with their Oshodi commander today when he came visiting our company. I raised an issue like this which he did not denied. He termed them as 'bad eggs' in the system which I believe is everywhere.
I can help out if you would like to lodge a formal complaint. Issues like this should not be brought under the carpert. It has to be dealt with

If their so-called oga called those guys'bad eggs' among them, I am not sure if really the guy is in charge. The point I am making here there is no point given those lads jobs like this to enforce.my conclusion that day was (and I stand to be corrected)_these guys are political thugs compesated for their contribution to the success of the ACN-led govt.

Help me out? How? Well, wat will u do na? I can be reached on bb PIN 2871C052.

For the guy that asked if I truly own the car, go to their oshodi office n ask for the details of a toyota camry '01 model (gold)they impounded last sunday morning.

faluasafe: They are meant to ensure compliance with the new Lagos state traffic laws. But the LASTMA I saw today(16-09-12) are nothing but glorified 'Agberos' robed in uniform.
Early in the morning, I wanted to quickly dash to itire from egbeda to see my not-too-strong mum.Having turned red, myself and other motorists had to wait for the traffic light to beckon on us to move.

A LASTMA official waved me to wind down the side glass which I obliged.
Every other thing that happened thereafter looked like a robbery operation.
He unlocked the car door, jumped in and started dragging the car key with me. I quickly parked the car. He snatched the car key after forcefully switching off the car.

As if they had been lurking around, his other colleagues stormed the scene saying all sort of things-we will show you this is lagos, you are a mad man. I was too dazed to even say a thing. I still donot understand my offence. They instructed me to enter the car and off we went to their oshodi office.

Different shades of vehicles are being driven in minute after minute. A look around will only show you men in uniform smoking, displaying all sort of rascality. I needed to keep quiet n started begging them. Meanwhile, various deals were going on-vehicles,okada,keke napep owners exchanging cash for the release of their belongings.

I was told to bring 30k but after all begging was told to bring 10k and nothing less. I bailed my car out of course without any receipt. I was informed that's the practice.
I have seen several good things being done by the present administration in Lagos, but I can tell you all that the present crop of 'officers' in

LASTMA are at best 'agberos' who are having a field day courtesy of the ACN-led government.
If the government can not overhaul this body, then other victims of this rascality like myself should pick a different option come 2015.
What an eventful weekend.

Politics / Re: NAIRALAND MODERATORS: Please List The Mods You Dont Like And Why.. by Mcfemad(m): 9:33pm On Sep 18, 2012
Haba Sexkillz... Easy does it oo, i don't know what could have happened if you are the owner of Nairaland. However, methinks there are better ways of responding to issues other than this! Your PR is bad, sir!
sexkillz: Lmao @ sexkillz is a yoruba man. . . grin

Anyway, this is not even an issue. That we have moderators in the first place is affirming the fact that humans must break simple rules. Even if it is to thier own good. Again, the worst mistake anyone can do is to try and please everyone.

I, sexkillz, will NEVER seek to please everyone. All i will always do is moderate according to the moderator rules, and according to the stipulated rules of Nairaland's founder. This website is privately owned. Even Jesus Christ a perfect man couldn't satisfy everyone. With all the good deeds he perpetrated, he was stilled castigated, and finally killed. I am no Jesus, neither am i perfect. So no one should expect perfection from me or the other mods. . . For any reason Whatsoever.

No one gets banned for nothing. If you are banned, it just points to the obvious truth that you have broken a simple law, and no one will actually own up and say he was wrong. . .

Did someone ask moderators to stop participating in discussions? That must be the Nairaland joke of the year. What kind of inferiority complex ridden joke is that? If you are losing an argument take it in good faith. Don't expect to insult another member and not get banned, simply because he is a mod.

This thread is baseless. The OP has a record of rule breaking and he cannot deny it. We are getting rid of tribal insults and comments, and i can see that it is making the guilty ones uncomfortable. Well, expect more of that. A ban on a user is the only option we have to maintain order, and we will sure use it to its maximum. The bannings will continue until the affected users learn to behave themselves.

Not everyone gets banned. That goes to tell you that those who get banned must have done something wrong. . .

Lest i forget, i am as igbo as igbo can be. . . The nonsense tribal statement of all mods being yorubas should stop.
