Good Job guys,
.
I'd followed the thread from page one till the current page and I must say well done to you all.

However, I have a question to ask, looking up to Chemasie, 2sexy, surveycash, Qamshino and all other importers to answer this as I do not clearly understand: Which do you think is better; buying from all Aliexpress through Chrisvicmall or buying from Chrisvicmall direct since they have products for sale on their website too?

Secondly, I do I get free shipping products? and I do track them cos I read on Aliexpress that the Free shipping products via China Post Mail can't be tracked should the products get missing?

Sincere answers,please.

Thank you

I suspect the fuel subsidy cabal and the oil marketers with strong backing of political bigwigs from a part of the country.
However, our security agencies should know the kidnappers are not fools, they should look beyond the shores of Delta state. That woman must have been taken far away from Delta State.
Also, information about the investigations and discussions/negotiations with the Kidnappers should not be made public, We don't need them, hence, such should be handled secretly until the woman is rescued.

Foreign Affairs / Strong Earthquake Strikes Off Northeast Japan. by Mcfemad(m): 10:29am On Dec 07, 2012
TOKYO (Reuters) - A strong earthquake centered off the coast of northeastern Japan shook buildings as far away as Tokyo on Friday and led to a tsunami warning for coastal areas.

The earthquake hit in the same area as a devastating quake and tsunami in March last year that killed nearly 20,000 people and triggered the world's worst nuclear crisis in 25 years.

The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 7.3, the U.S. Geological Survey said, adding that there was no risk of a widespread tsunami. There were no immediate reports of death or injury.

The quake measured a "lower 5" on Japan's scale of one to seven in Miyagi prefecture, meaning there might be some damage to roads and houses that are less quake resistant.

The scale measures the amount of shaking and in that sense gives a better idea of possible damage than the magnitude. The quake registered a 4 in Tokyo.

A warning of a one-meter tsunami was issued for the coast of Miyagi, at the center of the devastation from the March 2011 disaster.

That quake, which measured 9.0, triggered fuel-rod meltdowns at the Fukushima nuclear plant, causing radiation leakage, contamination of food and water and mass evacuations. Much of the area is still free of people.

The government declared in December that the disaster was under control.

Tokyo Electric Power Co, the operator of the Fukushima nuclear plant, reported no irregularities at its nuclear plants after the latest quake.

Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda canceled campaigning in Tokyo ahead of a December 16 election and was on his way back to his office, but there was no immediate plan to hold a special cabinet meeting.

Public spending on quake-proofing buildings is a big election issue.

Japanese were posting photos of their TV screens with tsunami warnings on Facebook, asking each other whether they're safe, confirming their whereabouts.

"It shook for a long time here in Tokyo, are you guys all all right?" posted Eriko Hamada, enquiring about the safety of her friends.

Phone lines were overloaded and it was difficult to contact residents of Miyagi.

"Owing to the recent earthquake, phone lines are very busy, please try again later," the phone operator said.

The yen rose against the dollar and the euro on the news, triggering some safe-haven inflows into the Japanese currency.

Romance / Okada Ban: Sex Workers In Lagos Lament Low Patronage by Mcfemad(m): 9:43am On Dec 07, 2012
It appears that the industrial sex workers are the worst reached by the impacts of the partial ban on the tasks of commercial motorcycle bikers in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria

The commercial sex employees, many of whom function in whorehouses, claim their biggest customers are the okada cyclists, but that since the ban on their tasks, their workplaces have actually broken up.

In several of the red-light districts saw around the state by our correspondent, several of the prostitutes were often seen idling away at nights when they are expected to be in their peak period.

Many of them say they are now forced to move to the streets at night in desperate search for patrons instead of staying within the brothels for the customers.

A visit to three brothels within the Alausa community of Ikeja, the atmosphere in each was sombre; absent was their verve hallmark.

Esther, a prostitute in one brothel located on Kadiri Street, within Alausa, told our correspondent that most of her colleagues had gone to other areas of the state like Allen Avenue, Toyin Street and Obafemi Awolowo Way, all within Ikeja, where they thought they could get more patrons.

“The brothel owners do not understand that our customers have reduced seriously,” she said in pidgin English.
“Since they banned okada, we do not see men like before again,” she added.

According to her, before the ban, an average prostitute in the brothel made at least N3,000 per night an average of N21,000 weekly.

“With this money, we effectively paid our rent weekly, sent money home to our aged parents and children for those of us who have, and took care of ourselves.
“But it is no longer so. We have to go out now and compete with those on the streets for customers,” she lamented.

She however said she did not go out that night because she was in her menstrual cycle which usually lasted three days.

Eki, one of the prostitutes in a brothel located at the ever-busy Ipodo end of Ikeja, said she did not go out that night because she wanted to take out time to ponder her next line of action.

The 27-year-old school drop-out from Edo State said she was becoming frustrated living in the brothel as the patronage had dropped in recent times.
“I am currently thinking of relocating. Many of my former colleagues now operate in parts of Ogun State and they say there is business there.
“I have made attempts to go to some streets at night to get patronage but the fear is that anything could happen to you.

“You could be arrested in a raid by government people. You can also be kidnapped by people who come as customers or even taken for ritual purposes.

“But in a brothel, the worst is to bribe the police when they come or even allow them sleep with you for free and you are allowed to continue your business,” she said.

She said since the ban on okada, she made between N1,000 and N2,000 against the N4,000 and N6,000 she made before the government action.

She hinted that some of the prostitutes in the state had started relocating to neighbouring areas like Mowe, Ibafo and Sango-Ota in Ogun State.

At another brothel at Ipodo, the prostitutes there confirmed that business had reduced as they no longer make as much as they did before the ban on okada.

One of the prostitutes who later gave her name as Daniella, told NE after two bottles of beer that the okada ban had affected them as many of their customers are commercial motorcyclists.

“This is where they came to ease their stress and we made good money.

“You know many of the okada riders do not have houses, so with this place, many of them spend the night happy sleeping in our rooms for a token and making us perform ‘extra-services’ for them at the agreed amount.

“Though we are still patronised, it is not like what it used to be,” the 29-year-old lady from Benue complained.

Asked if she was not thinking of marriage, she retorted: “Tell me you want to marry me now, now and I will quit. Na money I dey find and once you say you go fit take care of me, I go follow you go house right now.”

Apart from Allen Avenue, Toyin Street and the surrounding areas which the prostitutes have turned into their market place, a few courageous ones ply their trade at the Second Gate and the Lands Bus Stop areas, near the state secretariat.

A commercial sex worker, Juliana, said she had been coming to stand by the road in that area since she recently discovered that customers to the brothel she operates from which is located close to the Akiyode Bus Stop on Ojodu Road had reduced drastically.

“Before now, we always stayed in our brothel and got customers, but since they have reduced, me and my friends have decided to go all out in search for them. Man must eat now!” she said.

She told our reporter that she would accept N1,000 for short-time and that if it is throughout the night, she would collect N4,000 on the condition that she and the customer would make use of her brothel room.

“If it is short-time, you can do it around any dark area here. It doesn’t take long now; 15 minutes and you are done.

“But if it throughout the night, I won’t follow you home sha! We will go to my room and have it,” she said, adding that she was scared of a stranger to his home.

On Allen Avenue, the price varies between N1,000 and N3,000 for short-time depending on how the prostitute views the customers

However, it gets ridiculously cheap in the wee hours of the morning, when the number of men on the streets drops. Some of the girls can go for as low as N200 for short-time.

One of the sex hawkers, who gave her name as Theresa and said she was a student of a polytechnic, explained that for short-time, she and her colleagues just take their customers to dark corners or behind buildings “to have it done”.

“If the customer has a car, then better. We just enter his car, he parks and I service him.

“That’s why we wear skimpy skirts, most times with G-strings or nothing under, for easy access in the case of short-time.

“We do follow some customers home but most of us are now scared, especially at this period when we believe there are more ritualists in town.”

Officials of the state Task Force recently raided Toyin Street in Ikeja where activities of sex hawkers had become a source of worry for the residents of the area.

As a result, they temporarily ceased, but have since gone back to business around the area.

What is “WHITE” about a wedding?

…if we as a people refuse to do away completely with the borrowed culture of “white wedding” we should at the very least relegate it to Thursdays and promote the “real wedding”, our wedding, to Saturdays

Of the many generic things wrong with the sub-Saharan African the one irking me the most right now is the relegation of our tradition to the back burner and letting imported culture of the West take preeminence.

I was in Ado-Ekiti (The capital of Ekiti state in South West, Nigeria) penultimate weekend to witness the wedding ceremony of a close friend. He had earlier told me that he had cancelled the “white wedding” and that it was going to be only registry at the court and traditional ceremony. As expected, I had promptly asked if the lady was pregnant or whatever his reason was for cancelling the “white wedding”. As I would learn she was not knocked up. He just did not want it. PERIOD!

That set me to thinking: I am all for original, self-generated and self-involved actions. I am totally sold to people, ideas and actions that are unaffected by society, rules or norms.

I spent the entire week leading to the wedding wondering why Africans (especially those living on the continent) bother with “white wedding?” I cannot remember the last wedding I attended that I did not have to buy aso ebi. Aso ebi is a Nigerian thing, where people attending the same function (usually weddings, funerals, birthdays and the like) purchase a fabric and wear it to the function. It is usually worn by family and close friends. At weddings however, the people who wear English clothes usually include the couple, the members of the train and a few of the guests. I make bold to say 90% of the guests appear in one form of traditional attire or the other. This begs the question – what is “white” about a white wedding? Maybe the bridal gown.

What gnaws at me the most is not the practice in itself but the fact that our traditional wedding (the real wedding) which we understand very well is now termed “engagement” and the imported culture is called “wedding,”.

Back to my Ado-Ekiti experience. That Saturday because there was no church proceedings involved, the couple had the liberty to choose a 12pm commencement. This is obviously the same time most guests (who never attend the church for the blessings anyway) arrive to take plush seats at “white wedding” reception venues. It was a most memorable experience personally because it showcased the wealth of the Yoruba culture. Being a Saturday, most people made it to the venue. There was no expensive wedding dress to be returned for half the price (at best), instead there was an expensive lace combination that the bride can wear again to any august occasion. There was no culture war in the pictures. They picked an aso ebi that rhymed and complemented every part of the occasion. For the first time anyone in attendance who wasn’t dressed in traditional attire would have felt out of place.

What I picked from the trip is that– if we as a people refuse to do away completely with the borrowed culture of “white wedding” we should at the very least relegate it to Thursdays and promote the “real wedding”, our wedding, to Saturdays. I believe we can always make arrangement for the Man-of-God to bless our union at whatever venue we choose on Saturday (after all the good book says, “where two or more are gathered in my name there I am with them”) where we celebrate a truly African nuptial that showcases our heritage.

There are so many things we’ve borrowed from the west and benefited immensely from but this is not and should not be one of them.

SPARK! Let’s change it!–

“Everything has a price.”

The anti-virus software millionaire John McAfee has been arrested by Guatemalan police for illegally entering the country, the interior minister, Mauricio Lopez Bonilla, has said.

McAfee crossed into Guatemala to evade authorities in Belize who want to question him in connection with the murder of his neighbour. There is no international arrest warrant for McAfee.

McAfee declared himself a fugitive, changed his appearance and went on the run after claiming he was being set up by corrupt Belize officials for the murder.

McAfee made his millions as founder of the antivirus software company that bears his name. He sold the company in 1994 and then invested in other tech ventures before retiring to Belize in 2008.

Lopzez Bonilla said Guatemala would seek to expel McAfee because he arrived illegally.

McAfee, 67, had been in hiding for three weeks. He crossed into Guatemala with his girlfriend to evade authorities in Belize who wanted to quiz him as "a person of interest" about the killing of fellow American Gregory Faull.

"He entered the country illegally and we are going to seek his expulsion for this crime," Lopez Bonilla said. McAfee was detained by Guatemalan police and a member of Interpol at the Intercontinental hotel in Guatemala City.

Government spokesman Francisco Cuevas said McAfee would be expelled to Belize and he expected the process to be completed by early Thursday morning. McAfee's lawyer, Telesforo Guerra, said he would seek an injunction to have him released.

There is no international arrest warrant for McAfee. Police in Belize say he is not a prime suspect.

McAfee was taken to a residence belonging to the immigration department guarded by a small group of police. He had been seeking political asylum in Guatemala, which has been embroiled in a long-running territorial dispute with Belize.

One of Silicon Valley's first entrepreneurs to build an internet fortune, McAfee made millions of dollars through the internet antivirus software that still carries his name.

Residents and neighbours on the Caribbean island of Ambergris Caye, where McAfee has lived in Belize for about four years, say he is eccentric, impulsive, volatile and at times unstable, citing his love of guns and young women.

McAfee has said he believes authorities in Belize will kill him if he turns himself in for questioning. Belize's prime minister has denied this and called him paranoid and "bonkers".

There was already a case against McAfee in Belize for possession of illegal firearms, and police had previously raided his property on suspicion he was running a lab to make illegal synthetic narcotics.

McAfee says he has been persecuted by Belize's ruling party because he wouldn't pay out some $2 million to it.

Op, please go with this. Its better for you, bro!
x-fire:

HND in civil engineering? Please do not teach. It won't help your career at all.
1. Somebody already spoke extensively why you shouldn't teach. It will narrow you down.
2. It will be extremely difficult to save for business if you decide to teach. You probably be living from hand to mouth, let alone save N200,000 in 2 years as someone suggested.
3. With an HND in civil engrg, it shouldn't be too hard for you to get a construction or consultancy job in the building industry. Forget the pay. Get the experience. Think of a PGD. At 30 years of age, you can still achieve a lot. I know civil engrs that started with 20k/ month and now earn reasonably.
4. Get links and make effort to know people. Civil engrg jobs is about knowing people. Start by attending NSE and NICE meetings (professional bodies). You can also think of safety by taking NISP HSE courses.
5. Develop yourself in engrg matters and seek advice around. Teaching should be a NO NO for you. N.B. I was once in similar shoes. Taught for only 2 weeks but had to resign because it was interferring my chances of going for interviews in various coys. That's what teaching in a private school can do. It will limit you.
Cheers!!!
