Trust everyone is doing well,

Madam tjskii, how are you doing now? Your 'finger' story was quite funny ooo, Women are trying ooo. May the good LORD bless you all.

Madam udoka, wife had the same problem; she felt relieved when she started eating in bits. You can eat as much as you want, just take them in bits. Its well with you.

Wife has been having series of complaints (her belly feeling hardy in about 30 mins apart, the doctors call this contraction) and some others I can't find words to explain) and the doctors said the complaints are normal as they are signs of delivery; It's over a week now and all the doctors say its normal normal. Each time she comes up with these complaints especially at night, I'd to check if there's any opening in the veejay or if water is coming out or check something sha (based on what I've read/goggled) smiley smiley. I don't really know self; please help, as first timer, what are those signs to v expect ?, as we wouldn't want to be caught unawares. Thanks.

tjskii: Hiya folks,I'm in pain o,woke up dis morning and cudnt walk prperly with my rightleg,iv been feeling dis sharp pain in my upperthighs for bout 3days now, went to d clinic and d doctor just said once I start seeing d signs of labor,I shud come back, went online and most people said it was caused by d baby resting on a nerve or something, pls has anyone experienced this kind of thing,
Wife experienced this for some time last week; I only asked her to change/adjust her position and it worked. The online sources maybe right as I tried to massage the affected part; I felt a part of the baby somehow. Try and adjust your position anytime you feel suchand see how it works. However, since delivery is near, watch out for labour signs. Wife has been having series of complaints likewise which I think is normal for this period.

The PCV, urine tests and other examination are done at every visits at these major govt hospitals (not sure abt other ones) and these are very helpful is it gives a clear indication of what's going on. Infact, they gave my wife some hotlines to call if she has any complaints; she'd tried it once and was well attended to coupled with thier friendliness. On visitors restriction, methinks its for the benefit of patients; your husband and sister/mother/mil/sil or someone that will stay with you are allowed in to see you at anytime except during ward rounds, other visitors can only come during visiting time only. I won't advise getting a private ward as the nurses can be funny at times, they may forget someone is in there unless you have somebody that will keep them on reminder (based on experience when dad was sick). The maximum time you spend at the hospital as I was told is 72 hours, all things being equal. The general ward isn't that bad for thus brief period. $myopnion\

Government hospitals esp the Major ones like tjskii said, are quite good when it comes to childbirth. They are very thorough and take necessary steps and actions at the right time, though some of the nurses may act lazy, or rude at times, but they are averagely fine. However, their stress is one thing I dnt like; all what you can do in one office in a short duration in a private hospital will take your hours and several offices to do that in a govt hospital, coupled with distance btwn these offices. For instance, the place where you see a doctor may be 5 or more kilometres away from where you pay and another kilometres from where u should go for a scan or buy drugs. Another thing that tend to put people off govt hospital are different cases of patients one see all around while paying for drugs, blood tests, or scan. My wife had used three different standard private hospitals before we changed to FMC, Abeokuta at 32 weeks, as I was not satisfied with their operations. While at private hospital, she didn't do anytin tests, scan or ..., all the scan she did was on my volition, but she had a thorough examination at her second visit to FMC which was very helpful(at least that's where I got to know her PCV status where poroporo came in hand).

I have no idea of the cost of marrying a foreigner, however, I advise going to the Registry and make necessary enquries. Mr. Opaleye works at the Registry and he would be willing to help. I got his contact details here on NL, contacted him and helped facilitate our wedding process. I remember, I went to the registry twice; The day I went for forms filling and my wedding day. All the best. Cheers!

Trust we are all doing good, remember days ago, I shared how my wife's PCV results showed 31% and tjskii advised the use of 'poroporo' and ugu with milk. Within days of usage, her PCV result today has improved to 35%. I'm really surprised at how it worked effectively. We can as well try this and share it with others(just as tjskii did) Cheers!

,@mcfemad allow wifey to chop ur money o,norin do her,if uv seen malaria in her system,u don't nid to wait til tuesday to see d doctor na,go immediately shuo,if wifey feels so much as a headache and feels she nids to see d doc, then by all means she shud, those appointmnt dates r not meant to be followed rigidly,
tjskii: @mcfemad,31 is nt so bad, though 35 is sposd to be d best, wat iv heard that helps boost it is malt and milk or poporo(guineacorn stalk)they said its sold in d mkt, she'll wash d sticks and boil it,then use d water to make milo and milk,an aunt of mine was really ill her bloodcount was down to 23,twas realy bad,she was white, cudnt even walk, she was told to use d poporo(I thnk dts d yoruba name)mixture and d tin worked lik a charm, since its guinea corn(okababa)stalk,I'm sure it wud be safe in pregnancy, wud ave recomended d ugu and malt therapy, but since its veggies wifey mite purge

Madam tjskii, I can't you enough for your useful advices; they are really helpful. The first thing i did this morning was to call our hospital and explain how's she's feeling (the hospital is a bit far from where we are presently) and she was advised to take LONART DS which has been bought.

On the PCV, I know 'poroporo' to be effective in that regard, as my dad used to give us anytime we're sick and appeared pale.
I bought the 'poroporo' this morning as well (I even bought stalks for continuous use), prepared according to your prescription/directive smiley smiley and gave her to drink. She's well now. We owe you consultancy fees, I think. grin grin grin.

How are you feeling now,ma? Please take good care, have enough rest and eat well. A so kale ayo ooo,Amin.

Thanks once again.

Mcfemad my dear, thanks, dnt worry, your boy has been booked down as number 7 cheesy,,,. According to most information i got, there has been no SPECIFIC cause or causes discovered yet, we just have to continue putting them in prayer. Jaundice and the Oka is not what i wish upon even my enemy's baby.
My angel just gave a big burp now after her early morning feed,,,person no dey sleep well again oh undecided undecided,,but that's what we have been praying for abi? She is sleeping like a baby that she is now.

Everybody please take care,,,have to grab some sleep myself too.

Number 7 ke? O da oo, No wahala ma. By the time we bring truck loads of yam,... cheesy cheesy. May the peace of God be upon your household Regards to our princess and the family.

tjskii: @mcfemad,ow body, owz wifey my preggy mate cheesy cheesy, jaundice is caused by too much bilirubin(a yellow substance produced wen red blood cells r broken down) in d babyz bloodstream, its suposed to be excreted out by d liver, but most babies liver don't do d job ontime so it results in jaundice

Jaundice in babies is not a big deal,as long as its detected and treated ontime, ther was a time peopl said it was caused by d mum not taking enuf folic acid, then again some said it was caused by too much folic acid undecided undecided
Thanks ma, ur preggy mate dey there dey chop my food ooo; na countdown we dey do now. trust you are doing great ma and the baby is fine. Thanx for the Jaundice info...a bit relaxed now, what's better is early detection. It is well with us all. Cheers!

Nashville: A good husband is someone who loves his wife unconditionally.
A good husband is someone who understands his wife is not perfect but loves her inspite of the imperfections.
A good husband is one that helps and supports his wife to be the best she can be, in her chosen career and as a wife.
A good husband listens, respects and cares for his wife.
A good husband will not publicly humiliate or talk down on his wife.
A good husband does not cheat on his wife.
A good husband spends and invests in his wife
A good husband accepts his wife's family as his own
A good husband is not afraid to point out his wife's flaws, but with the intent to help her become better
And lastly, a good husband prays for his wife

lekanolas: A retired vice-principal, Chimezie Osuigwe has been arrested by the police in Imo state for the alleged ritual murder of his 78-year-old mother .
He was arrested after the embalmed body of his mother, who was declared missing in 2003, was discovered by a family member in a cupboard inside the house in Ejemekuru in Oguta Local Government Area.

Politics / Re: Obama Visits Nigeria May 28 by Mcfemad(m): 12:17pm On May 09, 2013
PapaBrowne: Listen Nigerians.
Nigeria is making tremendous progress. The opposition does not want you to see it all. So they feed the air with incessant lies.
They want us to believe that our economy is doing badly.
They want us to believe that corruption is at its highest.
They want us to believe that there is war in the country.
They hate it when they see the infrastructural renewal in Roads, Power, Rails and Airports.
They hate the Agricultural transformation because it is working.

I was at a mini kind of Seminar last month organized by an American very close the the American Government.
These were his words.
Nigeria's Economy is shocking economists globally. It is defying every known economic principle and growing tremendously in all sectors. Bombs are going off, Electricity is Erratic and Infrastructure is decrepit, yet the country is experiencing some of the best growth rates worldwide.
Americans have noticed. Europeans have noticed. The Asians have noticed. And they are coming in droves. But everybody is waiting for 2015. Walmart, Starbucks and MacDonalds and lots of other American Chains are searching for real Estate but are all waiting for 2015. If the current economic team is returned, they'll come.

Those were his words and that is the thinking of the current American Administration towards Nigeria.
Its only the opposition that thinks the country is a hell hole. They tell the world that Nigeria is a hell hole, but when rating agencies call Lagos the worst city to live in, they fight like Lagos is not Nigeria that they call a hell hole.
Obama's visit will piss offf these same opposition figures because it adds to Jonathan's credibility.

@Bolded, so what happens after 2015 They will return and Nigeria's economy will collapse, abi
And, what's your assurance that the current economic team would returned by 2015 even if President Jonathan wins the election.

Before, It was a baby holding a Quran, after ALLAH's name inscription was seen on a meat, and now it's a rock.

Before we all know it, we'll soon see another on Boko Haram guns, since they worship him.

Nigerians must be that sinful for 'ALLAH' to have been appearing in these 'mysterious/miraculous' ways.

By the way, this inscription was written by someone; this is clear enough for any sensible person to believe it's a miracle.

Cheers!
