But someone has to say this, so people know some facts; Pele scored most of his goals like 50yrs ago when many 'professional' football players had part time jobs. Pele was one of the greatest players of all time no doubt, but he played in a time where professionalism wasnt such a big part of the game. Nowadays, you have a world population over twice the size, sports science, big wages, investments, tactics, finesse, fitness level and a million and one other reasons why footballers of this age are better than those of old. Mind you, in those days, there were limited rules governing the game, one of such is the absence of the offside rule in favour of the offsite rule (google that).

Messi is better than Pele and Maradonna. But the charlatans will say he hasn't won a world cup. So i ask, what if he hasn't won the WC? If he had come from a country like Uganda, Cambodia or Kazakhstan, would anyone be questioning his international achievements? I believe not! To score so much in this day and age is just frighetening. A top class striker sore a goal every 2 games, not many have the record yet. Messi scores more than a goal a game, more than twice as good and stats only tell half the tale. Ronaldo is also out of this world. He alongside Messi are monsters in football as Drogba observed some days back. How anyone can adjudge Pele was a greater player is so beyond me.
