Good game I must say. We blew our chances at goal and so did they. Highpoint of the match:

1. Pinto is not Valdes. There's a reason he's remained no. 2 for a very long time.
2. The officiating was poor. Numerous foul calls were waved aside.
3. Pique-Puyol remains our best defensive pairing.
4. Cesc should never start against a fast playing side. He's sloppy in games of that magnitude.
5. Messi was easily mobbed, and for a large chunk of the game was unable to make meaningful impact, save for his goal assist.
6. We need MVP back. When he was crowded in the middle, Messi should have switched to any side of the flank and Villa stay up front.
7. The game is very open.
8. Varane is golden. MOM IMO

Aside patriotism, this is the best assemblage of Eagles I've seen in many yrs, albeit the likes of Echiejile and Musa who've been below par. Thing abt most Nigeria fans/analysts; they watch games just but don't read them tacitly. The game on sunday would be a completely different package and many of you here will eat your words. Most of those guys are playing international competition for the first time save for the likes of Enyeama, Yobo, Mikel and Echiejele. They sure need more grooming to be at their best. IMO, the mistake the coaching crew made in their selection was leaving out Martins and Taiwo. Those two would have lit up the teams attach. As for Mikel, he's the beacon of this Eagles. Hmmmm... If you say in this current tournament, that's an ok, but in the continent? The last W/African team to win the AFCON is Nigeria in the year 1994.

Shame i didnt watch the game, but the Youtube highlight i saw gave me the following points:
1. Mascherano is rusty and still not top class in the defensive position.
