TheManOfTheYear: I only gave rough estimates. That amount is usually the maximum in most cases That's too high. Hope you ain't thinking it's naira you just estimated. Even a company manager in US won't make 31k dollars a month even if he works $150 per hour. Mind you they ain't working the whole 24 hours per day. It's mostly 8 hours per day. And 40 hours per week. That amount you quoted should be per anum not per month. I stand to be corrected. But someone else can confirm this. |

TheManOfTheYear: Oh bobs. We're talking real money here.
An average forklift operator in Finland earns about $13 to $15 per hour. You're talking of like $31,000 per month. In Norway however, you can earn about 39kr(norwegian kroner) From my research, you can even earn more if you're ready to do night shifts or work during weekends.
But in a nutshell, you'll earn more in Finland. Perhaps after making enough money you can switch to your beloved Norway. Luck How does $15 per hour translate to $31,000 per month? |

honey86: Thank so blackbuddy. This is why I always stress that any immigrant coming to Canada should try to attend sessions at government funded employment services. Secondly, I know our accent is thick(I also have problem with this but working on it) but please let's try to mimic the way they speak. An average Canadian doesn't have ears for accent. If they can't decipher your accent they conclude that you cannot communicate. Unless you are in engineering or computer line of work, then you may get away with me. It's not only us, they also have problems with British and Australian accents too. Let's try to do what will make our lives easier as we start a new life in this country. You are right. Our thick accent is kinda a prob. I was on call with a white woman some days ago requesting for employment identification number for one of my service I render online. So she was asking for my address. And I called it with our thick accent ...she couldn't get it. She kept on asking me to repeat it. The word I was calling was Shuttle Street but she finds it hard getting the shuttle correctly cuz I was pronouncing it Shutto as we normally pronounce it in Nigeria but hell no she still couldn't get it. A mind was then telling me why not pronounce it the America way? I decided to go the America way and pronounced it Shurro street with little d sound...that was wen she got it. Since then I have been using You tube to practice America accent cuz Canadians still speak like the Americans . The trick is that they don't pronounce words with force.....as British do. British accent is too thick. Same with Australia. I prefer the American accent cuz u don't stress your mouth too much pronouncing words. Just a slight movement of your mouth and you are done. |

LeoT1: Good write up but the realities on ground are very different. I was an advocate of real estate and I have invested millions into property (houses, flats, lands, shops etc) over the last 5 years. I took time to do the maths recently and I realised that the opportunity cost clearly outweigh the ROI from these ventures. Here are the facts: 1. I had an opportunity to invest on treasury bills or by a shop in lekki for 5m . I opted for the later. The rental income was a paltry 250k per annum gross without discounting for maintenance cost and estate management agent cost. The asking price of the shop today is 6m. At treasury bills rate was 18% for 5 years. Do the maths.
I have other experiences that are less palatable than this. Rental income is normally between 5 to 7%. Normal property appreciation could even be lower. There are "trophy property " that could bring a lot of returns but they are one and far between. Go to the cemetery of lost investments from real estate, you may never touch it again from a dozen feet away. Remember only successful cases make the news. It's like a lottery. Hello bro, I am been hearing of this Treasury bills . How does it work? pls throw some light on it cuz I may go into that any time soon by the grace of God. |

mk82: Let me add a few things to those points: 1. Proper keyword research also includes discarding keywords where too little money is chasing too many books. 2. Quality and quantity matter a lot. These days the quality barrier is higher. Apart from providing quality content, also check the average number of pages of the best books under your keyword and try to be close to them. 3. In titles and subtitles, we don't use synonyms for keywords. We use keywords provided by the amazon search engine with very very little deviation. When you are expert in this skill, you will practically "own" some keywords. Your book will pop up any time those phrases are typed into the amazon search box and will later extend to Google. 5. To make it in the health & fitness category, switch to books with mainly recipes and little talk. Don't write a health book with long stories. Choose keywords where the solution lies in eating a particular type of food. Write an introduction to talk about the diet then provide several excellent recipes. Thanks a lot for this. I appreciate. |

mk82: Although I haven't seen your books but I can make a few guesses. 1. You didn't do proper keyword research. 2. Your content quality and quantity is low for the keyword or niche. 3. Your title and subtitle don't reflect the keyword. 4. Your cover is not professional enough. 5. You chose a very tough niche or a niche with celebrity authors or established professionals. ...and more. If you take care of the above points then spread your net wider by publishing on draft2digital and createspace. Thanks for your analysis. However, I have great covers. I did number 1 very well. I may be guilty of number 2 but does the quantity really matter or the quality? Quality is great. I do proper content research before writing but my lowest number of pages is 51 so far. I pass number 3 cuz I ensure that my keywords reflect the synonyms of my title and subtitle. Number 5: I am into health niche. In all ,thanks for your awesome comment. |

Go to YouTube and watch Australia videos, that place is bloody clean. Too clean and they have nicer roads and surroundings. Go watch "Tony Solo Day Game Infield" to see the different areas in Melbourne. He moves from place to place all over Melbourne, so you can have a glimse of how nice the place look. I believe Australia top one of the most cleanest country in the world. So that place can't be the most high brow area. Same with New Zealand. They both have clean surroundings. teni4larmi: Being an industrial chemist,I would like to seek the Opinion of public on "the distinguishable characteristics between industrial chemistry as a field of study and chemical engineering",which one of the two fields has better chance of being employed when it comes to job hunting, can they substitute each other in the industry. You comparing Chemical Engineering with Industrial Chemistry?. The difference is just extremely too much to draw out a comparison. Do know that Chemical Engineering is a professional course that requires 5yrs of studies while industrial Chemistry is just 4yrs. All Engineering courses are equivalent to similar bachelor degrees in abroad. For instance, a 5yrs Engineering course is equivalent to a 4yrs similar Engineering course abroad. But you can't see that with other 4yrs science courses. In terms of job? you can't compare Chemical Engineering with industrial chemistry job wise because the potential of Chemical Engineering is quite much. The reason being that it is a broad field. You can almost fit in all sectors. That makes it a great potential going for it. |
